The usual stuff about the need for two proofs of address- online apps on my phone showing my bank statements and utility bills weren't enough. I noted I'd probably give them a bad review, so the Scots manager at Newcastle cancelled my reservation and said he'd cancel any fuerther reservation I was likely to make. A real sleazebag. Avoid- the prices really are too good to be true.

Do not use this company, seriously, they are awful, they try to corner you when they think you have no other choices and charge much, much more than the original booking price. I can’t stress this enough, please do not use them.

I pre-booked an easirent car from Booking.com’s Rentalcars site. They charged £40. When I picked up the car, they refused to release the car without buying their premium insurance, for £140. They pick you up from Glasgow airport and take you 15 minutes away so your options are limited. Customer service was disgraceful.

[5* COMPANY - DON'T BE PUT OFF BY THE CLASSIC COMPLAINER COMMENTS!] Edinburgh Airport - Paul and the guys really went out of their way to help us with an issue with our booking (our fault!) rather than having a 'computer says no!' attitude which we've come up against multiple times at counterpart budget companies (greenmotion)! This is our 3rd rental with Easirent - we've always found the staff friendly and reasonable and not looking to catch you out. The cars are always really smart and usually very new, and we've often had free upgrades with cruise control and a smart screen for music and navigation. The Edinburgh branch is only a few minutes travel on a designated bus departing just outside the terminal, which was there ready when we needed it (the buses are at 20 minute intervals). We really appreciated Paul and the team this evening helping us get on the road to our holiday - Easirent will definitely be the first company on our list to rent with next time!

Please please avoid. This is the first time I’ve ever been compelled to write a review. But my experience of Easirent is so so bad that I have to warn other people. Unfortunately, during my car rental, I picked up a traffic fine. Annoying but my fault and these things happen! Instead of notifying me about the fine, Easirent passed on my details to a debt collector company. I received a letter from this company, before I had even been made aware of the fine from the council! Easirent’s Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) department can only be contacted by email (no telephone), and are very slow at replying (they took 10 days to respond to my query asking for more information about the fine). In the end, I paid the debt collector company in order to close the matter, worried that the fine would only get larger and affect my credit rating. This is by far the worst customer experience that I have ever had. Please do not use them, it’s not worth getting mixed up with this lot, who will try to get as much of your hard-earned cash from you as possible.

So many things wrong with this company. Waited 30 mins for the shuttle at stansted. When it arrived I didn’t really feel safe as a single woman in a car with just the monsyllabic driver going down country roads. He also nearly crashed into a bus. At the desk I was told that I needed to provide two recent bills as proof of address on hiring the car which I was totally unaware of. No pre warning in the online booking. I managed to provide them by logging into accounts online but the guy had such an air of trying to catch me out it was awful. Pointed me to some small print in pages of documents that told me I needed the documents. He could only smirk when I pointed out how ridiculously unclear that was. Had to memorise my national insurance number for him not to charge me £10 to check my dvla record. Car was fine. On returning it there was a notice on the dashboard to check the tyre pressure. Nothing alarming as tyre pressure goes down and needs to be topped up now and again. Totally routine. They tried to charge me £100 for a new tyre because it was “punctured”. Of course it wasn’t. Tried to get me to call their mechanic mates down the road to prove that the only reason tyre pressure goes down is a puncture. Called the AA who confirmed this is not the only cause - obviously! Only at this point they agreed to refill tyres, recalibrate them and let me prove there was no puncture. They didn’t charge £100 for the tyre but still charged me £170 for a tiny scratch. A family (other renters) in the office really stood up for me which I appreciated but they shouldn’t have had to with a flight to catch themselves. The whole experience was pretty upsetting. What a shame - such dishonest people

Absolutely Con People. Agree with many people that they con people with preplanned objective. I rented a car and inspected properly. Found few scratches here and there and got them noted by the person reviewing the cars condition. Even the person himself noted some deep scratches on one of the alloy wheel. When I gave the Car back, I was showed a very tiny cut on the tier, its on the same place, and on the same tyre where alloy wheel was deeply scratched before. And to my surprise the person inspecting the car instantly saw this cut, if you don't know already its difficult to notice. You can easily understand that the alloy wheel scratches and the cut on the tyre might have happened at the same time. They did know about the cut on the tyre, as the cut is small and not visible easily, they use the same cut to con customers. I became sure when I noticed they were arguing with another customer on the same issue on a different car which they were arguing over with a different customer when I picked the car. It looks like they keep small issues on list and keep on conning customers. I was forced to pay 225 for that cut on the tyre. If there was already a cut and the car was given to me to drive, it could have been dangerous. Absolutely say away from them.

Malpractice! There was no car available upon arrival. We waited for 2 hours. Customer service is zero, not apologetic besides rude. We have been charged extra. This company dedicated themselves to victimize people.. They should be inspect legally...

Just had a rental car from Easirent Heathrow, London. On returning the car i was advised the car needed a clean and the cost would be an astronomical amount of £225.00!! I objected but the aggressive and rude manner of the agent coerced me to have to pay the extortion amount. There was no transparency in the documentation. I have since written a number of times to the head office and called the office but they have failed to respond. I would never rent a car from these guys again. They are there to just rip customers off. I'm an international customer with my family and i was made to feel threatened and they took complete advantage of me. I have spoken to my solicitor and they have advised that we now go to Trading Standards if we do not get a acceptable response.

Blatant rip off, I hired the car through a third party company and when picking it up I was asked about the insurance waiver. This was refused as I have travel insurance covering the excess on hire cars. I was asked to hand my card over to cover the 1500gbp bond, which I did. The contract was thrown in front of me and I was asked to sign here here and here. I later checked my bank account and found I had been charged for insurance cover. I wasn’t given a copy of the contract and didn’t sight one until I complained. This stinks of a blatant fraud and after reading the hundreds of complaints about this company it now makes sense to me. Keep clear at all costs.

This is the worst car rental company I’ve ever had the misfortune to use. Had to change my pick up date as my flight was cancelled until the next day and called 15 times before someone answered! Was told it would be no problem to collect the car the next day so when I arrived in Edinburgh I had to wait 15 minutes on the bus to arrive (which was smelling of stale urine) and after driving almost to the Queensferry Crossing I arrived to be told they only had 6 seater vehicles available and there would be a price difference! Terrible “service” if you can call it that. Don’t ever use this company, when you complain they just don’t care.

Never ever rent a car here. A complete scam. Forced us to purchase double insurance of 230 pounds. Promised to send documents after we left, however had to call them 3 times in 4 days in order to get the documents. When we received the documents, they were incomplete. Also, location was far away from Edinburgh airport. We had to return the car by 5:40, however they didn't open until 6:00, which nearly made us miss our flight.

DO NOT USE this company. I booked a hire car for 2 days in London. Upon arriving at the airport at around 10:30am, I travelled to an industrial estate where the rental place was set up, only to discover they had no cars available. I was not offered an apology, but was told that if I waited until 4pm, I 'might' be able to get a car. When arguing my point, I was sworn at by the manager. I was left with no alternative but to leave without a car. I wrote to the car company on my return home and had to chase a response. I got a half-arse apology and my money back. A complete waste of time when there are so many competitors out there. Look elsewhere.

Cheeting customers. Prepaid car online. Forgot GPS, contacted sales agent direkt per mail and asked for GPS. He Said that ir would cost us total 6 pounds per day or 48 pounds total. Also We agreed and he Said it would be added to our booking. But he never did add it. When We arrived att desk lady Said that there is not GPS added and if We want it We need to pay dubbel higher price. I showed her sales agents email. But she did mot Care, and We would not get gps if We did not pay 15 euros per day. Customer Care would not Bother help either, They just Said We cant help you because you agreed for price 15 euro per days. Cheeting Company, sales agents who promise things but not fullfill them. Taking complaint further now. Be carefull with this cheeting Company, when you hire from them. Seems that you cant trust them .

Absolutely agree with a lot of the reviews of Easirent Stansted on here. I had in fairness rented from them on a number of occassions without major complaint apart from the long wait for pickup. I had however witnessed on a number of occassions small semi-heated arguments with a returning customer after the final inspection but never really took much notice. Unfortunately on the last occasion I too picked up the car in semi-darkness and thought I had inspected it sufficiently. Upon my return they noticed a small unexplained scratch on the roof above the driver door which quite honestly could have been repaired at very little cost in about 5 minutes! They stung me for £195.00 plus an admin fee (for what?) of £75.00 totalling £270.00. This certainly wasn't a 'fair and reasonable' charge and I do think now this is part of the cheaper car hire companies business model, advertise cheap car hire and then target each office to fit up a daily quota of customers with damage charges! They didn't care less whether I was a regular hirer from them as probably the word from the top is that there's always another mug around the corner. Will never use them again and I strongly reccomend any reader of this not use them either.

Do not use. Prebooked car online. Arrived at desk to be immediately greeted with "We don't have the car you booked". After clearing this up it turned out they did and the gentleman confused me with another booking. This poor person turned up after me to be left without any vehicle at all despite prebooking online. The price initially quoted ramped up from £58.50 to £163.63 when all the hidden extras were added. Unfortunately I was in a situation where I needed the vehicle due to a family emergency...otherwise I would have walked out. I have rented many cars over the years and this was by far the most unpleasant experience and will absolutely not return. This is my first negative review ever posted online. To summarise- Poorly organised and too many hidden charges.

**WATCH OUT RIP OFF CONMEN* The biggest nightmare with a car rental firm Ever !! AVOID AVOID !! It took us 1 1/2 to get picked up at Southampton Airport after lots of frustrating calls to ring the number for a Shuttle , eventually got through to somebody and then they sent us dragging our bags to a bus station ! Then after waiting SENT US BACK TO THE AIRPORT DRAGGING OUR BAGS , charged us an extra £148 for 3 days Hire but then told us it that doesn’t cover the tires or windscreen ! Then we wasn’t leaving until 18.35 they told us only the car had to be back by 11.30 am !! I said no and they replied ok 3pm then UNBELIEVABLE Was not happy and let them know !! Then WAIT FOR IT they looked at the car and said there was a scratch on the windscreen and it wasn’t there before !! You could hardly see it I needed my glasses!! There was no way you would’ve noticed it when I picked the car up !! Well that was it we flipped , then they said get a taxi to the airport OMG , we told them we was going to take it all the way and we meant every word IF YOU RENT OF THIS COMPANY YOU HAVE ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME

Booked a car online, they wouldn’t give it to me cos I didn’t have enough money on my credit card, £1500. And that’s acceptable cos it was my fault, didn’t read the small print and t&c’s, but then they wouldn’t even refund my money for the booking, I’m so annoyed!
