Avoid Easirent like the plague. I rented a car from them at "Gatwick" (they are quite a long way from Gatwick, by the way). When I picked up the car I asked for the location of the nearest petrol station so that I could fill up on my return. I was given verbal directions, but on my return journey I failed to find the petrol station. As I was very close to Easirent and wanted to make the next shuttle bus back to the airport, I drove into their office with the intention of getting directions and then re-filling, or paying them to do it if it wasn't going to be too expensive. The person who dealt with me first was extremely helpful and explained that (unsurprisingly) it would be very expensive for them to fill the car. He directed me to a nearby supermarket even offered to run me to the airport if I missed the bus whilst filling up! What brilliant service I thought!. However, at this point the manager interrupted and insisted that once I was on their premises I was deemed to have returned the car would not allowed be to leave again. He was rude and belligerent. The rest of the staff were clearly embarrassed and looked a bit intimidated by his bullying manner. He took the key and hurriedly ordered the clerk to debit my card for the fuel without my agreement. He then told me that there was nothing that I could do about it as it is all in the terms and conditions (the last refuge of the rip-off merchant). It's a pity that they have managers like this because the other staff seem very helpful.

I have only read a few reviews, as I see there is a very consistent pattern here (one star ratings). I'm thinking mine must be amongst the best reasons for yet another poor Easirent / Rentalcars review. Two weeks ago I booked a car for 12 midday at Edinburgh Airport but arrived at 3pm. I was told my car had been given away. Ha, ha. Given away! It wa the straight faced delivery of the guy behind the counter that made it worth the money. Delivered with sincerity, as if their position was totally reasonable, and what an idiot I must be. I should have been annoyed, but I thought it hilarious when the assistant manager started wittering on about reading the small print, about late arrivals policy and just like the other review pushing for me to get a more expensive upgrade instead. We went to Europcar who gave a fantastic service for a decent price and put the whole episode behind us. Don't let these people steal your money and ruin your trip - avoid Easimoney and Choose Life.

I have rented with easirent at least 5 times in the past year or so from two of their London airport branches The ONLY reason I have gone back in the past is because they are cheap. Their service is awful and every time you rent they will find a way to bully you into paying more. Upon arriving at the Glasgow High Street branch the gentlemen behind the desk started the usual process by trying to get me to add an additional driver. I had to point out that the person with me didnt have a license for him to stop. I provided my licence and proof of address. Same license and proof of address type document I have used all other 5 times I rented from them. I was told he had to call customer service as my license is in my maiden name and proof address is in my married name. The gentlemen then informed me after his call I was unable to rent from them. As I could steal the car.... I pointed out that this has never been a problem. Not any of the other 5 times have I ever been questioned. His response was he was doing his job. After going back and forward the gentlemen told me (with a huge smirk on his face) he would give me the car for £230.00 versus the £39.91 I paid online. At this point I decided I to walk out. I appreciate terms and conditions are in place for a reason however if you are prepare to "bend" the rules for for money - then you are being dishonest! I called customer service after I left, spoke to a lady that wasn't very friendly who pointed out to me that even if I did pay more I couldn't have the car. So I would be really interested to know what is the actual policy? And do the rental agents get commission if they manage to bully more money out of you. I jumped online and reserved another car with Sixt. Their location is very convenient right by Glasgow City Central. Within 30mins of making my new booking I was driving out of Sixt car park. I paid £67 and I got a much nicer car then what I have previously rented with easirent. The gentlemen that helped me at Sixt was also extremely helpful and made us feel welcome in their office. Sixt has gained a regular customer!

This company has failed to provide a satisfactory rental service, I've had unauthorised charges made to my card, customer services have been very slow and have avoided questions. I arrived to find the branch closed at 20:50 despite my booking for 21:00 being accepted and the branch advertising they were open until 22:00 (this was even confirmed with a phone call to the branch). I was then charged more to collect a lower spec car than I ordered the following day. It's taken over a month and they've still only refunded me the taxi fare and unauthorised charges they made to my card. They've done nothing about compensation for wasted time or refunding me for the extra charge for picking the car up the following day due to their offices shutting early. Customer services have ignored emails for over a week on some occasions and even when I have phoned and been promised a reply the following day they have failed to do this. The branch staff seemed very dismayed at how awful the company as a whole were so I get the feeling it's well known within the company that their processes are dreadfully below par.

Terrible customer service at the Glasgow branch. Both on arrival and checkout the staff were extremely unhelpful and in some instances rude. Would never ever use again.

I recently rented a Nissan x trail from this company, we collected the car at 11.40 pm the guy who we dealt with was OK, we done the paperwork and he brought me outside to check the car, he looked all around it and it seemed perfect so I signed the paperwork, it was late and we had to travel from bristol to llanelli so we left, all we did was motorway driving and we had to take a back road diversion when leaving the car back as there was a tree down due to the recent storm, when we got back one of the sales guys checked the car and miraculously found a stone chip on the windscreen, I know it didn't happen when I had the car but he informed name it could cost between £60 and £300 "depending on if the repair company can fix it" and that he would let me know when he got an estimate, we were tight for time so I signed the relevant documents and left. I personally think it was done before we got it, because how could the first guy see it at 11.40, I'd like to know if anyone else was caught with this scam, we paid 86€ for the car plus we paid 52£ insurance and 10£satnav fee. I would never recommend these rip off chances to anyone, the guy who "found" the stone chip was a smarmy clown who blamed the bad roads, I will seek legal advice on this simply because I think it's a scam to get more money from people. The car was a Nissan xtrail mustard color we rented from the holiday Inn, beside bristol Airport, if anyone else was in a similar situation with this vehicle please let me know. Thanks

If I could award them zero stars I would. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. I booked online and paid extra to have zero excess on my car rental. When I came to collect the car they tried to aggressively sell me additional insurance stating that theirs was better. I refused. They then demanded and took a deposit of £1,250 which they assured me they would refund immediately when I returned the car the following day. I returned the car on 28th Jan17 and today is 23rd Feb17 and I still have not had my deposit returned. They have lied to me countess times stating that the refund has been made, they have also stated the same to my card company who has now launched an investigation and done a chargeback. Initially I was told that the delay was caused because they booked the £1,250 as a 'sale' and not a 'deposit' whatever that is supposed to mean. Rude, ignorant, uninterested staff. This is a ploy to unlawfully sit on your deposit to earn interest. No apology whatsoever just 'not my problem' approach. Disgusted.

If I could I would give zero stars. I was quoted £38 for the few days of my rental, but when I picked up the car it jumped to £146. I had just come off a long haul flight and didn't question this till after and when I called to question it, I was given the run around. I was not given the full information at pickup to avoid the extra charges. I then needed the car for one more day and, even though I was told I would get the same rate, all be it extortionate, I was then charged even more. Do not rent from easirent. Read the reviews and take heed.

I had an horrible experience with this company at Edinburgh Airport after booking via Easy Car. When they tried to make me lower my excess by paying £88 I explained I had already paid £39 with EasyCar for protection to cover my excess. The slimy salesman then told me that the it was a scam by EasyCar and one several watchdog sites. He acted as if he had saved me money and shook my hand when I thanked him for letting me know. On my return from holiday I phoned EasyCar who explained that I had been lied to by Easirent and I did not need to lower my excess as I was already covered. Since then they have dismissed my complaint with disgraceful rudeness and made up rules about my consumer rights. They have treated me with zero respect. STAY AWAY!!! Fraudulent sales people

Got a great price on the car for 5 days rental, but then they sold me the most expensive insurance policy they offered saying I had to take it as I didn't have a credit card. End result the car hire cost 8 times more than it did at the time of booking. Turns out they actually had 2 cheaper policies they failed to mention that I could have also taken. I tried to complain but they basically said I was told about the other policies as they are on the website, even though I purchased the insurance in the branch. They refused to compromise. Worst car hire company I have ever dealt with and I will never deal with them again or recommend them to anyone. Terrible service and miss-sold insurance.

I would give them zero if I could! Just don't do it! They may be slightly cheaper than other hire car companies but it's not worth it, they will find a way to rip you off in the long run! I hired a car last week for 6 days from Bristol airport, first of all, they tried to tell us that we needed extra insurance on top of what we had already paid, which was at £30 per day, works out very expensive if you're hiring a car for 6 days. Then I returned the car exactly how it was when they gave it to me and they are trying to charge me for damage to the alloy WHICH I DEFINITELY DIDN'T DO! I have now read reviews and looks like this is what they do to everyone! They are crooks !

Never rent with Easirent !!! This summer we rented a seven-seater vehicle at Easirent's office at Dublin Airport. At first all good, until we had an accident in which the culprit was the other driver, according to stated the agent who attended us. When you went to the police and contacted the vehicle insurance company, there is no document in the car. At the time of the rental, we were told that they sent us an email with all the information, message that never came. After several unsuccessful international calls to the UK, searching the internet for an isolated freeway service area, we got the assistance of the insurance company, got two taxis for the seven, and had dinner. The accident was at 18:00 and we arrived at our house at 00:30. More than six hours left at the crash site by Easirent. Every day at our Easirent office at Dublin Airport and they do not indicate that they have no more seven seater vehicles. Let us look for one in another company and they will return the money for that expense. So literally. To a direct question the Easirent sales manager in Ireland replied yes. We approached Avis / Budget where we rented a second vehicle for seven seats, but smaller and more uncomfortable. There was nothing else. In total the expenses that caused the accident, which we were not guilty, and the incompetence of Easirent, amounted to almost € 1,300.00. Easirent only offers us the money obtained from the insured company of the culprit of the accident, about 250,00 €, all that after 6 months of continuous claims every week. This money has not been transfered yet. Easirent does not give us back our money we paid for a service we did not pay, nor the one we were promised. Do not hire Easirent anywhere, because those who do not want to reimburse us the money at the UK central. The head of Ireland lent us her help, as far as she says she could. Luck with this informal and incompetent company !!!!No alquiles nunca con Easirent!!! No había otra cosa.
