Been a eBay member since 07 will today I will no longer ever buy another thing on eBay. As there return policies is useless if you make a mistake on how to get labels and so forth there is no option once you close the return to make the right return again and eBay refuse to help with that so a 22.00 return that eBay refuses to help with lost me and all the thousands of dollars I send there. No worries there Amazon prime that does much better job protecting you as a buyer and so-much more simple. So beware of eBay I wouldn’t buy from them . Save you money and use Amazon. And when they ask me to remove this will guess what . I will tell them the same thing. There is nothing I can do to change that.

If I can help just one person avoid going through what I have been through with eBay, then I will consider that a win. I needed to sell a pretty expensive electronic for some much-needed money. To reduce the chance of someone running off with this product were I to show it to them publicly, I decided NAIVELY to post it online on eBay so I could just ship it out to an interested buyer, get my money and be done with it. I wasn't happy with the fact that eBay was going to take over $100 out of my earnings, but I needed the money. Within hours of posting the ad for this electronic I got a bite from someone interested in the phone. He tried to haggle me on the price a little bit, but I wouldn't budge and even provided more photos and videos through eBay's private messaging system of this product. The buyer gave in and agreed to buy the product at full price, even though I was gonna get jipped on over $100 of it because of Ebay's policies. I gathered everything I needed that very morning, shipped the product out with an extra charging cord simply out of my own niceness (even though it wasn't even included anywhere on the ad in the first place), and immediately messaged the seller with a photo of tracking information. I then proceeded to wait for eBay to do their part and transition the money into the preferred method of payment I had linked. According to the tracking information I was given, the item arrived in two days and all was quiet and I thought absolutely everyone was satisfied. I got my money, the buyer got the product. Everything is cool, right? Fast forward an additional 5 days. I receive an email and notification that the buyer is requesting a refund for the product. Dumbfounded, I open up eBay to investigate what's going on, and the buyer is requesting a refund because the electronic I sent out was "not as described" and "had scratches on it." This most definitely was not the case when the item left my possession at all. The buyer provided some incredibly low quality photos in his return request of my product, circling what he deemed "defects" when myself and my partner and another friend of ours looked at these photos from top to bottom (from what we could see, of course, because the photos looked like they were taken with a phone or camera from 1999) and saw absolutely nothing of note. I immediately reported the buyer on eBay and finally managed to get in touch with a CSR over the phone. I could barely understand a word she was saying and nor could my partner who was sitting right next to me while the CSR was on speakerphone. Her english was almost non-existent after I plead my case on what was going on. She was basically reading off of whatever prompts they have to follow and told me that I had already taken the right first step in reporting the buyer. I asked her what else I could do to escalate this situation and her answer was to do nothing, and for us to wait 5 days and call eBay support again while "they do their part." I'm already angry that I am getting conned by a seller who is making false claims about myself and my product, and eBay isn't helping the situation all all, but I reluctantly call them back after 5 days because I truly cannot afford to lose the money for this product that I just received payment for and transferred into my savings for bills. Ironically, when a CSR calls me (after I chat with an automated chat bot), it's the exact same CSR that I had spoken with 5 days earlier. I get absolutely nowhere with this CSR, and I ask to speak with a Manager about the entire situation. She finally gets a Manager on the call, and the Manager barely speaks English any clearer than the person before her. For the 500th time, I plead the entire case and goings on to her and her advice to me was to accept the return (because there was going to be no other option) and wait for the product to come back to me before taking other steps. I was fearful that eBay would take back that money from me that I had earned for the product, but I was assured that that was not going to happen. Several days pass, and I finally receive the electronic device back. I open up the packaging and there it is, my electronic device, in mint condition, with narry a smudge or a scratch on it (and yes, it was truly the product that I had sent out with clear identifying information on it to prove that). I twist and turn the device, in clear daylight, and look for anything that I can that shows me what in the world the buyer was talking about in his return request with those awful quality photos. I see nothing. Also, to note, the person who bought this product from me did not return the charger that I had sent out with it (which was a pretty penny in itself). So, of course, by this point I am even more angry and I know I am going to have to call eBay and talk with someone who is going to give me the run-around again. eBay's website is giving out buggy errors left and right ("Something went wrong"). The automated chat bot is being unhelpful and only giving me the option to "email an Agent" as opposed to getting someone to call me. I try calling the number I had previously received a call from through the call logs on my phone, but to no avail. I finally try again a few monents later and am able to be connected with a CSR. He speaks clear and concise English this time, and that briefly gives me hope because I am hoping he will understand what I am going through and be able to give good advice back, and help get this situation resolved. Was I ever wrong.... I give the entire spiel again, A to Z, on everything that happened, even though I know they can see absolutely everything from their end too that has happened. The CSR pretty much bites back at me that the buyer will, in fact, be receiving his money back for this return despite the fact that he completely lied about the condition of the product he received. That exact product was sitting right in front of me during all of this without a single defect on it, and I was pleading with the CSR to give me the option to prove that through videos and photos as evidence. I got nowhere. I eventually even asked the CSR straight up "So, even though he's conning me and I can prove that, he's still going to get his full refund back?" and the CSR just flat out said "Yep." When I asked him to explain why, he asked me if I received the product back unscathed, and I said yes, and he specified that that was why the ruling was going in the favor of the buyer (which makes absolutely ZERO sense), and then proceeded to tell me that I can just re-try selling the phone again, and that I could try to appeal everything once I got a final email in from eBay about the case. Of course I followed the link and appealed the case, and even provided clear photo proof (no option to provide videos, or I would have done that too) and that's where I am at now. Given how this entire situation has gone so far, I absolutely do not expect anything good to come out of this. I have also already received an automated email specifying that $xxx.xx will be coming out of the linked payment method of mine on eBay to repay the buyer back. Without using expletives (even though I would love to), I would just like to specify that this has been one of the worst experiences I've ever been through when it comes to product selling and purchase, and had I known beforehand that eBay is notorious for ruling in favor of scammers, I never would have taken this route. After eBay officially takes out the money for my product, and rejects my appeal (I'm fully expecting it), I will be completely deleting my eBay account and trying to sell this product elsewhere to someone who will appreciate it and won't con me out of my money. So, if you're considering using eBay (especially for an electronic device), I would highly recommend against it unless you want to risk getting scammed and then having eBay basically tell you that, yes, they will be siding with the person who scammed you, thus being scammers theirselves. I'm out of a lot of money because of this fiasco, and now I have to start all the way at the beginning again selling this product by other means and hoping I can get back some of the money that I desperately need.

eBay allows fraud, theft, and false advertisement on their platform. They are aware of this issue but instead of dealing with the CRIME at hand they run you around in circles, then tell the fraudulent seller how to hide negative reviews. FRAUDULENT SCAM!!!!

Extremely Disappointed with eBay's Handling of Seller Issues I’ve been a dedicated seller on eBay, using dropshipping through EasyNce to fulfill my orders. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my frustrations. First, EasyNce deleted my account, which left me unable to trace back any of my orders. This led to a cascade of issues with my eBay account. Buyers took advantage of the situation, claiming they hadn’t received items despite the fact that they did, and I couldn’t provide tracking information because of the EasyNce account issues. To make matters worse, instead of investigating fairly, eBay immediately sided with the buyers and issued refunds without giving me a proper chance to resolve the situation. As a dropshipper, my margins are already slim, only earning about 10-15% per sale. This barely covers the eBay subscription fee and the dropshipping costs. eBay’s lack of support and understanding for sellers like me has been incredibly disappointing. I’m losing more money than I’m making, and they seem to prioritize buyers at the expense of honest sellers. I expected much better from eBay. If you're a dropshipper or rely on third-party services like EasyNce, be cautious. eBay doesn’t seem to provide the support needed when things go wrong, leaving sellers vulnerable to buyer claims and unfair refunds. Very disappointed.

We been selling on Ebay for over 15 years with an great score with them. Now it seems they are holding funds from sellers longer and longer. Sold some items on September 12 and now they are holding the funds until October 2nd and now today we find out they are going to hold it to October 9th. Do not waste your time and money with them. I have an online store through another website site and I get paid in 48 hrs. Save yourself the headache don't waste your time.

First let me say, I totally agree with most of the comments on this forum and feel sympathetic to all of the victims who have fallen prey to Ebays’ shenanigans. I have been a seller on Ebay for a while. I advertise and ship products  EXACTLY as I advertise. Never had an issue until now: A buyer purchased a bike lock with alarm from me. (I voluntarily included an accessory: a cage to put the lock in). After they received it, they “claimed” a strap was missing on the accessory, and requested a refund. The buyer specifically said “there was one strap on there, but not the other”. This accessory DOES NOT have any straps on it; you can choose to attach it with something like zip ties. I now suspected this buyer clearly had bad intentions. Before agreeing to a refund and running the risk of receiving the item back not in the same condition I sent it in or not receiving it back at all,  I requested they send a front and back photo of the part they “claim” was missing, and they NEVER did. I explained this to Ebay and asked them to open an investigation. Their initial response is that a case had been opened and they may reach out to me (the Seller) and/or the buyer to provide additional details. While waiting to hear the status of the investigation from Ebay, the next thing I know, I receive an email from Ebay saying they sided with the buyer and issued them a refund- and the buyer apparently also gets to keep the item and not return it to me. Ebay NEVER sent me any information/ status of their investigation of this case; Nothing saying they had reached out to the buyer and asked them why they did not send the information/ proof I requested. Just ruled in their favor despite the likelihood that they were either scamming me from the start or may have just had “buyer’s remorse”. Now despite my positive selling history after 19 years, I am left with this buyer having a refund and keeping my item All at my expense- no recourse, really? I now have been scammed twice- first by the buyer, and second by Ebay. And don’t even bother with Appeals or even trying to reach a live agent; You are met with NOTHING but algorithms and artificial intelligence through chat messages. *A MESSAGE TO ANY POTENTIAL SELLERS*: Ebay DOES NOT protect Sellers like they claim. They, like many other companies these days are a breeding ground for scammers and have absolutely become complicit in allowing scammers to benefit; Those of us doing the right thing are truly left to fend for ourselves without recourse- other than escalating to legal action or otherwise. *A MESSAGE TO EBAY: Stating what should be obvious, you can’t have Buyers without Sellers. Continue to treat honest Sellers this way will only lead to no one selling through your Marketplace and you’re already questionable reputation continuing to take a nose dive- You’re shooting your own self in the foot. The Better Business bureau REALLY needs to investigate Ebay’s practices. **SELL AT YOUR OWN RISK ON EBAY*.

I was scammed by a buyer who purchased a Coach bag at a lower cost than the exact same bag I sold them. They purchased the bag and it was delivered 6/26. They didn’t leave a review, and I honestly forgot about it. On day 29, after receiving the bag (by their own admission) they purchased the exact same bag for a cheaper price and opened up a SNAD case on EBay Day 30 which was 7/27. I accepted the return when requested and issued a return label. I never received the returned bag and was forced to fully refund the buyer plus shipping both ways, despite being absolutely honest as a seller. I was also charged an additional $66 in fees for the return shipping label and my two failed appeals. I literally just spoke to 19 representatives before one would tell me where the tracking number showed delivery. Prior to call 19, all I had was the zip code of my hometown and delivered. I subsequently, through customer representative 19, learned it was delivered to my parent’s address. I couldn’t find my parents address anywhere on my account either and neither could the representative. It was returned to my parents’ address, which I cannot find anywhere on my account. They don’t have it their neighbors don’t have it. I certainly don’t have it. Nor were any of us expecting it to go there because they’re not on my account. I'm not a reseller.  Just a person selling out of their closet.  I do purchase frequently, hence, the need to sometimes sell.   I’m not cut out for being jerked around on a total of 25 different phone calls where I followed the first 18 representatives directions in real time on the phone, and received contradictory information on calls 18-25. I filled out an affidavit. Nope- tracking says it was delivered, according to eBay it was delivered. I was told I could have claimed I received XYZ in lieu of my bag and would’ve won. The problem with that is, I’m actually an honest person. Who would do that? I don’t want to be worse than the buyer that totally scammed me. They won’t even let me close my account until October 6. When I asked if there was anyway, I could get myself banned prior to October 6, the customer service representative suggested I either list something illegal or a known counterfeit. What type of business tells you to commit a crime? It’s insane.   The sad fact is no one should be cut out for eBay because of the way sellers are treated. I trusted them. I spent a lot of money as a buyer and paid a considerable amount of money to them as a seller.   I took photos of the package and postal receipt for the buyer.  I sent tracking updates to the buyer.  I had 24 pictures, a manufacturer number, and a scannable QR code for this bag.  I literally did everything I was supposed to do.   30 days later SNAD.  The buyer even admitted they had found the bag cheaper at an outlet.   I never received the return and was unable to document the condition of the bag because I didn’t receive it. I cannot document thin air, and I absolutely refused to lie. eBay chose to break the trust that 16 sales representatives created, as they directed me through the return process step-by-step in real time on the phone. They refused to take my word. Now I’m out a $400 NWT bag, the $200 refund to the lovely buyer, and $66 in fees.   It’s a catch 22.  They literally closed my second appeal via email while I was on the phone with a customer service representative taking notes about my appeal case. How is that even possible? I lost more than an expensive bag and $266. I lost respect and trust for eBay itself.   I’m going to say politely that I’m disappointed and not willing to lose anything again. I guess that quote about trust being earned over time and lost in a second is completely true. eBay will eventually fold. If there’s nothing to sell, there’s no one to buy.

Clearly there would be no EBay without sellers , yet eBay allow buyers to leave disgusting viscous reviews on items they havnt received, in fact it was out of stock. These buyers are evil & want to destroy your credibility over a small issue. Very unfair .

ebay is good, but not great. I recently had an Ebay purchase ($185. package) mis-delivered by FedEx ground....they left it by the side of the road 600yards from my house. the package disappeared (stolen). I maintain it was never delivered, not even close to my house in town, with a clear name and number on my box, and on well labled city street. I reported this to EBAY , wrote and appealed 4 or 5 letters, sent the FedEx "delivery photo" and a photo of my mailbox in front of my house....photographic evidence the package never reached me...But no, they maintained proof of delivery was given, and the sender had to make a claim to FED EX.....meanwhile the seller was too lazy to make that claim, and why should they? EBAY paid them their money. I made a claim with my credit card , and they decided in my favor and clawed back the payment to EBAY. NEVER USE A DEBIT CARD< ALWAYS A CREDIT CARD WITH EBAY

I sold an item of furniture for $100 and eBay paid me $72.88, which means eBay charged fees of $27.12 on a sale of $100 which equates to a whopping 27.12%. That is daylight robbery. I will never use eBay to sell anything EVER again. Nor should you!

I am extremely frustrated with eBay as a seller. Despite being a loyal and honest seller for years, the platform has continuously failed to provide adequate support and protection. I recently encountered multiple instances where buyers exploited the system, filing false claims and demanding refunds for perfectly described and shipped items. eBay's resolution process is biased towards buyers, disregarding clear evidence I provided to support my case. I lost both the items and the money, with eBay offering no real recourse. Additionally, the fees have become exorbitant, eating into any potential profits, making it almost impossible to run a viable business. The listing and shipping processes are clunky and outdated, and their customer service is virtually non-existent, with long wait times and unhelpful responses when you finally get through. Their algorithm also unfairly buries listings from smaller sellers, favoring big businesses and making it harder for independent sellers to compete

Horrible customer service when you have issues as a seller. They stole my funds by giving a buyer an undeserved refund of $230. The buyer got his item (that was really late) and his money back. I lost my money, the item and the time and money I spent to ship the item to him. I feel scammed after being a seller for over 20 years.

I had been a good customer for 4 years and I bought many items over these years. But sometimes I had either delivery people deliver my orders to the wrong address or sellers sending them tithe wrong address far away from my address all claiming it was delivered to me. Or as recently use a wrong tracking number, when I clicked on to check my tracking it took me to Amazn.com and it said, Sorry we can't find that package! I sent several messages to this seller and I first asked them to please let me know if the balls on the end of the curtain rod can be removed and put back on because I noticed the openings of my curtains were small, but they never answered me but shipped it right away instead. I also sent messages to them about the tracking number being wrong but they never responded to this either. So I sent an email to the Better Business Bureau and I called The Federal Trade Commision and made complaint reports. I also posted this on ebay's buyer community but unfortunately the people who responded to my posts weren't the kind helpful people who responded to the many posts over the years about the fake tracking number scam. I also contacted ebay about this too, but unlike in the past they usually sent me a message back in other cases when there was a problem like their site saying my item was delivered but it wasn't delivered to my address, and they usually said that if the seller doesn't respond in several business days they will step in and I usually got a deserved refund but they didn't even respond at all this time. I eventually not that long afterwards did get my curtain rod delivered to me and I let the seller, eBay and The Better Business Bureau and The Federal Trade Commission know this. I recently got a shocking upsetting email from ebay saying that I was suddenly unfairly suspended indefinitely without any real explanation or warning! I did get about 4 refunds recently but there were some problems with some items, I also tried to cancel a few items before they were even shipped yet buy ebay wouldn't let me so the sellers gave me a refund. I really thought the suspension email was a spam email until I went to my account and all it said was xxxreasonxxx and claimed that I violated their site's rules but never said how. My last communication was in messages with a seller who offered and gave me a refund was friendly and I thanked them very much as I always did.
