“Enterprise on 211 in Middletown NY- the nastiest people I have ever met. The day pick up, they advised me that for a 10 plus passenger car- a credit card is required, but I was not informed. My husband had to call them to confirm the reservation and when he came in the day before to make sure the van was available- he was never once informed that a credit card was required for large vehicles. When I went in to speak to a manager and ask for the form that specifies that a credit card is required for large vans, she printed the form out and when I read it with her and saw that it did not indicate it- I asked for her to call the hot line to file a complaint. She refused and so I asked her to provide me with the number. She did and while I was holding the paper, standing at the desk she snached the paper out of my hand and ripped it and refused to give me another one. There was no apology and no assiting me with other options at all. If you can avoid renting from here, please avoid at all cost. They are not helpful or friendly people at all and they just lost the company money. Now, I have to find a rental last minute and hope they its 1. affordable and 2. available. My sister is married to a man in the Marines and I have not seen her or her new born baby and they are being stationed else where after Thanksgiving. So now, I won't even be able to meet my 2 month old nephew and these people at the middletown office did not care enough to help me with other options. If i could rate this a zero I would!!!!!!”
“Worst car company EVER! I spent over $3500 to rent their cars specifically a jeep only for the employees to say it’s theirs for the drive back?!!! This is absolutely disgusting behavior. I follow the standard procedure for renting in Advance! Only for them to say “ sorry we no longer have that vehicle”. It’s a game well played and I will never use this company ever again and refer my clients to another company.”
“If you want a car that smells like smoke and vibrates at 65 miles an hour, enterprise is the way to go. Otherwise beware there is no customer service and there’s no swapping out a vehicle.”
“This company has dwarf into lying to get you into the door, then once you get to the office, they try to place you into a vehicle they want you have...very misleading!!”
“Well this is the SECOND time that this clown show at Harbour Point has called me at 4:30 the day I am supposed to pick up a vehicle at 5:00 to tell me they have no cars. Literally 30 minutes before I am to pick up with no other cars available anywhere on a holiday week. Told me to call management. So the last time I use Enterprise ever. Have a higher tier with Hertz anyway with my Amex Plat. Don’t use this company and definitely don’t use this location.”
“Worst company ever! En route from Colorado to Texas the rental.car began losing oil. Put two quarts in it. Then in New Mexico it seized up and stopped running. While stranded on the side of the road, Enterprise would do NOTHING. Their representatives were rude, uncooperative, and unwilling to help. They arbitrarily cancelled the tow truck 3 hours into the process. Thank God for AAA. Enterprise would not send another car. They recommended calling 911. That was it. If you have any other option DO NOT rent from Enterprise.”
“The Corpus Christi, Texas has the worst customer service under Area Manager Ann Marie Morin who said vehicles are not released to customers who do not verify their employer name. In her words several rentals are not being returned. This issue has caused Enterprise to implement a policy to ask each customer company wide to ask for their employer since the area is so close to the border. Refusing to release a car to a loyal customer before you know their employer name is not helping solving any matter but I felt personally discriminated against.”
“I booked a rental car 3 weeks in advance, then when I called the week before to confirm my reservation, and ask if there was winter tires on my car. I was informed that you had to pay $20 a day extra to have them on your car in the winter time. I wasn't happy about that. Seeing that I was only going to rent the car for 24 hours I was willing to pay the $20. But then I was told that there wasn't a car available for me with winter tires for that date after I reserved it 3 weeks in advance. Needless to say I'm not very happy. And the fact that they don't put winter tires on their vehicles in the winter is ludicrous. I asked the person that I was talking to on the phone, what would happen if I got into an accident because I don't have the proper tires. And that person said accidents happen. I didn't know how to respond to that. Now I have to cancel my doctor's appointment and I'm stuck paying $40 for that cancellation. I think Enterprise needs to rethink their policy on this subject.”
“I reserved a car for today through Sunday and when I went to pick up my RESERVED car, I was informed they did not have a car for me. That would have been GREAT INFORMATION when I made the reservation. What kind of car rental company reserves a car that isn't available????? I have rented 10 cars from here in the past year and no issues, but I will not be back. I had to jump through some hoops to find a car to rent at the last minute, not good business”
“I scheduled car at 7:30 am to be picked up at collision repair shop. At 7:50 im still sitting here. Called waukee office, the drivers just got here. The had a weeks notice to get it right.”
“Progressive arranged a rental after 1 of there policy holders rear-ended my car. I was call by an Enterprise representative and received an email confirmation of authorization for the rental and yet I call to make arrangements and they have no cars! Basically I was told by Enterprise sorry but there was nothing they could do! When I contacted Progressive I was told it was out of their hands.”
“I am trying to rent a vehicle with a reservation number from my auto insurance company. I have attempted several locations within a 60 mile radius of my home and magically there is not a car available as apparently there are certain cars available when an insurance company is paying versus when you are paying as an individual. This is according to the customer service rep on their own reservation line. The website itself says that vehicles are available but again when calling the location numbers you are connected to a call center in which they tell you nothing is available. They promise to put in a search for you, but it could take anywhere from an hour to more than 24 hours to get a response.”
“We reserved a car, because we hit a deer and needed to get back and forth from work! We take off work early and drive 30 miles and we get there and we find out that they rented out our car! So I would definitely recommend hertz”
“First I wish there was a place for no stars i had confirmed pick up from 2 weeks ahead to be picked up at a local body shop from where my truck was hit at the hospital an was a specific time an date do to my wife having major surgery when enterprise was called for pickup I was told they had me for the next day but I could come down an wait so the body shop gave me a ride an upon arrival enterprise told me to wait an see if someone would turn one in early I explained my situation an was told to come back the next day an wait to see if they could get one an because of more surgery I couldn't the ones waiting on me said oh well I didn't have to come back an started to patronize me about my situation this happened at 11:00 am on nov 18 at the enterprise al location on Rucker Blvd all 3 employees were extremely rude an very unhelpful when the mistake was clearly on them when i had confirmed time an date but they didn't care an made that clear I left walking down the side of the road because of there lack of concern so called the insurance company told them my experience so they called hertz an was in a car in 30 min they even came to me an picked me up on the side of the road an said they receive a lot of business for that same reason I don't expect enterprise will do anything about this as it seems to be yalls practices an there was around 30 vehicles on walls lot I'm sure they could have done something instead of the gross abusive way they talk an treat your customers an there was one other gentleman who left walking too because of there behavior so it's not a one time thing”
“I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Enterprise Rental Cars, particularly at their Palmdale, CA, location. They gave me a car with a bad tire, and when I brought it back in, they “inspected” it and assured me it was "fine. " The next day, the tire was completely flat due to a nail they missed. To make matters worse, they charged me for sending someone to put on the spare.
When I returned to the local store after waiting in line for nearly an hour, I was told they probably wouldn’t have a replacement car. They also told me that if I wanted the flat tire fixed, I’d have to take it to a tire shop. The store manager promised me a free rental as compensation, supposedly linked to my account, but when I tried renting with them again, there was no record of it.
I spent over an hour on corporate chat trying to resolve the issue, only to be disconnected three times. Eventually, I was told a manager would follow up, but—unsurprisingly—that never happened. I’ve lost time and money (including missed work due to the flat tire), as well as any trust I had in Enterprise. The lack of accountability and customer service is astounding.
I will never use Enterprise again and strongly advise others to avoid the Palmdale, CA location.”
“So, I rented a car, a few months later enterprise sends me a email saying I got a camera ticket months later. Soon as i got the email i took care of it and paid it as the agent walked me through the process. However, a week later enterprise took a double payment off my card. I have sent in all my documents and bank statements that I took care of payment; they refuse to give me back my money with PROFF! every agent says something different. I WANT MY MONEY BACK”
“Enterprise gave me a car with low tire pressure they gave me a car with a front end that pulled hard to the right and would shake at times. They don’t test any cars when they come back in they just pass it on to next customer so they can pin the damage on them. They also left a pending charge on my card after telling me they wouldn’t charge anything on card I have been waiting a week for pending charge of 576.00 to be removed from my card. The customer service is horrible at best and watch for them charging for days you don’t have car. The representatives of this company will lie to your face to scam you out of your money. Never go to Enterprise in Danvers on 114 unless u wanna be screwed over.”
