Terrible stress caused by Evans Cycles. They have gone down hill and I've lost all confidence in them. I ordered a bike at the beginning of the month and it's still to arrive. I'm on the phone everyday to them, and it seems to be one excuse after the next. A senior regional manager got involved and I was assured that it would take 5 days. That has turned into 2 weeks and still no bike. I was told that there were numerous in stock, yet they haven't even got the couriers involved. ...Having to man the house to receive a delivery which they promise to make by the next day, and then the next, etc.etc. I would not recommend. Still waiting (over 3 weeks), and have not had an update with any idea of when I will receive my order.

Utterly useless, avoid at all costs. Bought a bike and a few new accessories via my employer's ride to work scheme in June. The delivery on the bike got pushed back to November, at that point I was told my order had been cancelled. Decided to cancel my ride to work scheme, refund the bike and pay for the accessories (as I bought a bike elsewhere) as they said this was an option. After my employer contacted them they said I couldn't get a refund as I had also purchased some accessories. After some back and fourth finally they said to get my refund I would have to go in to a store to pay for the items, though they are unclear as to how that will work.

Even the staff in the shop I just visited are embarrassed about just how poor Evans has become. Ordered a bike in July, told it would arrive late November. Emailed to check when the bike was due a couple of days ago and was told that my order had been 'cancelled'. Evans took my money in July and I found out my order had recently been cancelled only after having to chase for this information myself! Just went to my local branch to find out what had happened and if anything could be done, and the poor guy was embarrassed with the situation and told me it was not uncommon. Best of luck with these clowns - I genuinely do not think they have a clue what they are doing. They are not the company they used to be.

Ordered a bike for my grandsons 8 th birthday. Advised that it would be approximately 3/4 weeks which would have been just in time for his big day. When it was delivered it was the wrong colour, bright yellow instead of blue and black. Tried to find a phone number but couldn’t so had to email. It took 3 days before they responded and then not to apologise but to say that if I wanted to keep it then they would offer me a £15 discount! When I said I needed a replacement and fast they messed about for a week before they then said they didn’t have it in stock. My belief is that they never did and were trying to get rid of old stock. I asked them to arrange for a courier to come and pick it up and they told me I had to arrange that. After threatening them with trading standards they did eventually pick it up but it took 4 weeks before I got my money back. Customer Service? An absolute joke. Do not use them, deplorable.

This review is only due to Customer Service or complete lack of. I have an 10 year old Pinnacle bike bought from Wandsworth Evans. With a lifetime frame warranty. Upon adding wide tyres it apparent apparent that the rear wheel was misaligned in the frame. Contact Customer Service - take into local store. Taken into local store (Crawley) Warranty refused, agreed the frame was misaligned but due to me reporting too late declined. Workshop were great, apologies from them, unable to give detail just relay message. Told to try customer service to discuss. Contact customer service again explaining story to date. Told that I need to go back to store I purchased from. Told them this was closed. Told to take to local store as head office cannot comment. Told them Crawley was local store. Asked them for contact from warranty team to discuss? Asked them for frame warranty exclusions? Ignored. From the start I outlined I was not after a refund or exchange. But options under frame warranty. Emily who I dealt with never did anything other than repeatedly reply with options that tried to pass the problem elsewhere. And then ignored me. So disappointed - on the basis of after sales support from head office I would never buy from Evans again and recommend you do not do the same. No ownership of problems, no willingness to even have a discussion. Hide behind emails, no phone contact. Support local bike shops, same stock but they care!

I bought and paid for a bike, when it was delivered it was the wrong colour. After 4 weeks of contact and trying to arrange it to be collected and for a refund to be received they gave me a date that a courier would come, after a day of waiting no one turned up. They apologised and arranged for a courier to come 2 days later, full of hope this would not happen for a second time. Once again, after another 12 hours of waiting for collection no one show up. Despite me contacting the company to discuss this (via email as you can’t speak to anyone directly) I am still waiting. DO NOT order anything from this company!!!!

This summer I bought a Pinnacle Ramin 2 2020 bike. It's an aggressive hardtail 29er plus bike. When i wanted to go tubeless, because both the tires and rims are compatible, I encountered a big dent in the front rim. To this day my front leaks slowly because of that dent. After not even 3 months of use the bottom bracket started to have problems. When I checked I found out that the spline was not conical, but cylindrical. One day I was doing some endos and the front brake caliper just broke off. After some googling I found this is a manufacturing issue. Those are obviously manufacturing errors and thus should be replaced by warranty means, because I DIDNT PAY FOR A BROKEN BIKE. After all of that, I decided to contact them. THEY DIDNT WANT TO REPLACE ANYTHING, telling me I just used the bike wrong, because somehow wheelies do "a lot of wear and tear" to trail bikes. In the description of this bike they say it's "ready for anything you can throw at it", and it can take you to a "multi-day ride over the high passes of the Himalayas". Really?? I think I will post a YouTube video about it, so I raise awareness of how they treat their customers.

Always had good service and advice from Reading Branch. Recently I wanted to buy some cycling overshoes, size 8. No stock, to order and pick up in store I have to pay a delivery charge! So poor stocking by Evans, I have to pay extra....no way, went to another LBS and bought there. Very poor!

Absolutely appalling customer service at Mortimer St store even for these times. Was viewed as more of a nuisance then a potential customer. Avoid!!

Evans have given me the worst service of my life, firstly their customer service is so slow, so when I noticed an error on my bike order I was unable to change it and they got back to me AFTER it was delivered to the wrong address. I then realised the cabling on my bike was set up wrong and they fixed it, which took 10 days, with zero communication. Now my bike doesn't even work so I have to take it back to the shop. By the way my bike cost ÂŁ2,000 pounds so for that amount of money I would expect a decent level of service. There's has been shocking. So not give them your money, and literally shop anywhere apart from Evans.

Ordered a bike 5 months ago and still haven't received it. I was told it was at head office 2 weeks ago and would be delivered to the store in 2-3 days but this has not happened and am still waiting. Trying to cancel and get a refund is impossible as there us terrible customer service and conflicting advice from store staff and no way to communicate with head office and actually get a response. They make it as hard as possible to get a refund even when they aren't delivering the product.

Purchased bike at the end of May and was fortunate unlike other customers that it did arrive in June. However it arrived with damaged handle bars. Tried to contact Evans impossible no email, no telephone contact no on line chat unbelievable we are in 2020! Finally found a complaints section on line and sent message, waited 3 weeks for reply! Asking for further information which was sent then had to wait another 3 weeks for a reply. Finally in August after many emails via complaints we got a voucher. End of August ordered new handle bars at a cost more than the voucher As the inly suitable ones available, so going to be out of pocket through no fault of my own which they don’t care. Handle bars out of stock no alternative so requested a refund on September 8th and its now October 18th and no refund. Numerous emails sent via the complaints mechanism received back lots of promises and excuses but no refund. Automated email sent to say it had been resolved just unbelievable. I purchased an expensive bike which did arrived damaged in June and now mid October this is still not resolved. Simply the worst customer service i have ever come across. I will never use Evans again i did not realise they are now Sports Direct when i purchased the bike. Questions below says how do you communicate with the company thats a joke as its virtually impossible! When you do get a message through it takes 3 weeks for a response. It was beyond a bad experience so far its been just appalling.

I ordered a bike on the 8th of August 2020 to be collected on the 18th of October 2020. They updated their system where I couldn't see any of my orders which I had to email them to find out. I went to St Paul's branch yesterday to find out if my order would be coming on time. I had to call them today as I never got a call yesterday due to how useless head office are as they couldn't get through to them. I found out today my order was cancelled because the order was delayed and they didn't even ask me if I was willing to wait. No email notifying me and also still havent received my money back. You should show the trust pilot rating on their site so people can actually see how bad they are before ordering from them.

1 star is generous!!! Absolutely the most disgusting service known to man! ordered a bike 12th June for 5th July delivery. Still waiting!!! sent umpteen emails and letters, went into store and no one is willing to help. Can only contact by email, no phone number, no live chat!! this is 2020 covid or no covid its unacceptable!!! Now my bike is showing on the website as in stock and available for purchase but no one has bothered to inform me that is is back in stock or when my bike will be delivered. Happy to take customers money but not deliver on what they paid for. Absolutely disgusting, never experienced anything like it!!! DO NOT BOTHER TO SHOP HERE THE STORY IS THE SAME TIME AND TIME AGAIN. I wish i had read the reviews before making my purchase but i certainly wont make that mistake again!!

Very poor customer service, avoid if you want to get a bike on the cycle to work scheme, you cannot ring anyone to deal with an issue and have to do this via email . I’ve waited over three weeks regarding my cycle to work scheme and still haven’t got my query resolved. Evans cycles are now owned by Sports direct and that explains why this past decent cycle shop has seriously gone down hill.
