Unfortunately aftersales service is one of the worst service based in coventry. Sales manager Ashley Hyed is a very unprofessional and lazy. keep doing fack promises for avoiding complete job. Trying to resolve issues of my bought car with in 2 weeks of bought, but no really interested to respond and resolve issue. Can finish the job within 5 mins (just need to decision to aprove work) taking 2 weeks in a row but still not considering matter of time and urgency. No wonder why coventry branch is going to close.

I have just wasted £750 on an extended warranty for my vehicle, when help is needed, 15 unanswered phone calls suggest either the lines are unmanned or a deliberate policy not to settle any claims

Absolutely disgusted with after sales .Had my used MG since feb29th but have had 4 x 2 week holidays meaning I have only driven it for 8weeks 1150 miles.i thought it was making a funny noise possibly wheel bearings but I know zero about cars so I took it back and got flat you didn’t pay for warranty would you like to book an appointment at a cost of £140.Do Evan’s Halshaw really do all the checks they say they do I don’t think so.over the last 20years I have bought at least ten cars two or three of them brand new.no more

Excellent Service and Great Experience at Evans Halshaw. I recently purchased a used car from Evans Halshaw and the experience was exceptional from start to finish.William Whippe, the sales representative, was particularly helpful. He patiently answered all my questions and provided detailed information about the all requested. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Evans Halshaw. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new/used car. I will definitely return for my future servicing needs.

Bryan at Evans Halshaw Falkirk provided a first class personalised service from start to finish. Having suffered an injury in a bad accident, which left me unable to collect my new car, Bryan dealt with all the paperwork and delivered my new car to my home in East Kilbride, making it a stress free situation.

On the 31 May I set off to Evans Hashaw York to look for a new car, on route I looked on the website and saw a car at Gainsborough Evans Halshaw that I liked the look of. Having a look around York we asked if they had anything similar. They didn’t and so we mentioned going to Gainsborough for it but were told that it could be transferred to York for £99 and that York do better point checks than Gainsborough would as they had higher standards. Why does Evans Halshaw allow this to happen, it seemed a bit bizarre as they are the same company and surely run from the same checks. However we were told york is a more affluent area than Gainsborough and so the standard is higher. Couldn’t quite believe what I was hearing. However I paid £99 for the transfer as York is closer to us than Gainsborough and was told it should be with them by Monday, and then they would do their checks, two weeks at the most before it could be released to me. One week later I called for an update the car was still at Gainsborough, 2 weeks later it had arrived that day but with 2 dents in the doors and front grills that needed to be ordered and replaced. At no point in the advertisement or when asking for the transfer were we made aware of this, the car had only done 7000 miles. Why did Gainsborough take 2 weeks to check the car then send it substandard. Why do Evans Halshaw allow this? As it would seem the York branch was well aware this does happen. So I was supposed to wait again for parts and fitting. At this point I lost faith in the company altogether and bought a car elsewhere that have standards across their sites and advertise appropriately, I think I had a lucky escape. Date of experience: 31 May 2024

Trustpilot reviews Thanks for your review! Evans Halshaw Your review is pending.Read more EmilooWho 4 reviews GB Rated 1 out of 5 stars * WARNING * * WARNING * Whatever you do DON'T buy the Premium Guarantee cover unless you definitely plan on keeping the car for the whole guaranteed cover time. There is NO REFUND if you sell the car within the time frame ( a grace period of 30 days from taking the policy is the only chance of a refund ) SCORCHED into paying £1,000 for 3 years without the knowledge of the very fine print saying no refunds once purchased if you sell the car. PLEASE Be ADVISED - read the small print.

Went to look at a car and wow what a state! car had two miss matched tyres on the rear when its a RWD car, parcel shelf was missing with the clips broken to even attach one too, alloys have clearly been touched up with a cheap pen off Ebay even though they told me they were sent off to a proper company, service history was described as full when its had only 4 services since new and its 9 years old, i just had enough and told them i'm not paying £11,000 for a car only worth £9,500 tops when its in a state like that because no doubt in a few months all that cheap touch up paint would come off, i would have to service the car myself for peace of mind, i would have to order a parcel shelf and replace the clips on the panels to even fit it and get two new tyres, only thing they offered to do was chuck some cheap autogreen tyres on it for what £100? so they can keep over £1,200 profit from doing literally nothing to it. If you really think Evans Halshaw salesmen are checking each vehicle you phone up for and do literally anything they say then more fool you, i will bet my last pound it won't be cleaned like they claim, won't be serviced like they claim, wont have hundreds of pounds spent on tyres and alloys like they claim, all they'll do is tell you they've done all this and chuck some touch up paint from Ebay on it that costs them £9.99.

Purchased a car from Evanshalshaw in Bury and the car broke down on our way home. My wife was driving with our three young children and all were very distressed. We were able to continue our journey home driving very carefully, amber engine light on all the way. Next day the car wouldn’t start so we called the AA who came recommending the car shouldn’t be driven and presented us with a lengthy fault report. I called the Evanshalshaw sales representative to have the car returned and was not called back or assisted in offered in anyway. I have since been calling to have the car collected and am being told I will have to pay, even though the car was not drivable and of um-merchantable quality. I’m am left waiting for a call back to resolve this situation.

Often the quality of a company is only on display when an issue arises, Salesmen very kind and polite when selling but uncaring and uncompromising if any issues arise. We purchased a larger car after the birth of our first child. Informed that the turbo had been replaced after purchasing so was really disappointed when issues arose a few months after buying with engine management lights which were according to a Seat specialist, likely linked to the turbo. The car also failed the MOT emissions test also after the first year.l, an issue I've never experienced. Contacted the branch we used and tried going through complaints as we were told initially there would be a warranty of 12 months for the replacement turbo. However, although the new turbo has collapsed after only 1 year and 9000 miles, no apology or offer of any kind to help rectify the issue. Told that someone would call back a few times and I naively waited and expected a call before having to call back to try and sort out. The seat specialist we spoke to were very surprised to hear a warranty of only 12 months for a new turbo and it makes you question the quality of the work completed. Both cars I've purchased in my life have been from Evans Halshaw but won't be using them in the future if this isn't rectified. I plan on going back through complaints to say that the issue hasn't been resolved through the local dealership we used to buy the car, but not holding my breath for any sort of support or apology but this is a lesson learned the hard way.

I bought a car from them two years ago, on the day they dropped it off i noticed the gearbox wasn't working properly, fast forward they took the car back and "fixed" the gearbox, just had to have a suspension part done on my car and the garage phoned to tell me my gearbox has so many bolts missing they advise i shouldn't drive it until they order some and fit them! So for two years i have been driving a car around on motorways and stuff and its had most of its bolts missing on the gearbox! they also informed me the gearbox isn't new and it looks like a second hand one, i couldn't believe it until they shown me! this has put massive stress on the remaining bolts so they need changing too and when i phoned them to make them aware even 2 years after they said it was down to me to check? so apparently everyone when buying a used car you need to take a car lift with you, lift the car up in the air, remove the undertrays, just to make sure your gearbox isn't missing all its bolts because their team are too incompetent to put the bolts back in they took out! how was i meant to know? with the undertrays on you can't see the gearbox so a MOT wouldn't pick this up either, i expect a garage contracted by EH or EH themselves to be able to put all the bolts back in a gearbox when putting it back on the car, i have been driving around for 2 years with a gearbox held on by i think 2 bolts? i have always heard a noise when accelerating harshly which i was told was normal but since all these bolts have been put in i no longer hear it.
