Disgraceful. Booked a Bali trip and got to the payment page, it took 6.5k from our account prior to confirming the booking that never even went through because the hotel was booked and so were the airlines, spent hours trying to get a hold of Expedia, phone numbers were disconnected, chats were disabled, and when you did get through it asked for a booking reference that didn't exist BECAUSE THE BOOKING DIDNT GO THROUGH. After hours of panic thinking we had been scammed the money was returned. Considering ourselves lucky that it came back in light of the reviews on here. NEVER BOOK THROUGH THEM. Truely incredible we got our money back from these scammers.

Avoid Expedia or it will cost you time and money. They trick you via their website into making a second reservation in order to pocket the $50 cancellation fee. It is just wrong. As well, the customer service team via call or online read from a script of standard responses, repeat themselves at nauseam, really do not care about the customer and just wait for you to end the dialogue. Again...Avoid Expedia!!!!!

I booked a package with Expedia to Canary Islands, we chosen a hotel in Lanzarote but to our surprise the flights were to Tenerife airport even though I explicitly choose Direct Flight in the filters selection and yes , I know, i should have check every single detail in the package but that's why when I choose DIRECT FLIGHT, I expected a direct flight to Lanzarote island........ Tenerife and Lanzarote are almost 300 km apart and the ferry takes around 10 hours, not to mention that the flight to Tenerife lands at 20:40 in the evening and there is no ferry at that time. Expedia suggested two options: 1. Cancel the hotel and book one on Tenerife and 2. Speak with the airline to change/cancel the flights. Needless to say the airline won't refund and you cannot change the flights as they do not even fly to Lanzarote! So here I am being basically force to change my entire trip plans and search now for a hotel on Tenerife Island otherwise I would loose the flight rickets (360 GBP). Apparently for Expedia, even though they are sorry, the filters are working just fine, giving me options, even though they are putting those options in a nice attractive package.

This company is horrible and a scam. I booked 3 rooms on the 24th of September 2022. I canceled 1 room the same day, ever since then I've been trying to get refunded as they promised to do so and nothing. Do not use these guys, i have to involve my lawyers on expedia to apply my refund but they will be paying much more

September 20, 2022 I booked a flight on Expedia. They immediately took my money for a flight which was supposedly sold out and told me I didn’t have a seat that it was done in real time is the reason the flight hadn’t been taken down. But they sure did take my money and still have it Oct 3, 2022! I can’t rebook until I have my money back in my account! Even if I eventually getting my money back on my debit card the hassle with Expedia isn’t worth it! Book directly with the airline!

I purchased a vacation package along with travel insurance, just in case my trip got canceled. So when my trip di actually get canceled, Expedia, wouldn't refund my money without a fight. Even though I purchased travel protection, they still wont do the right thing. What a bunch of scumbags!!!!

I recently booked a flight for me and my fiance to travel from Cebu, Philippines to Manila, round-trip. Expedia changed double flight protection for single flight. Tried using online chat to get customer service number, chat said cannot access phone numbers, could not even give me phone number to airline they booked tickets thru. Total cost online said $173.96, I pressed "book", when I receive confirmation email, total is now $280.69. Then another email is sent with a Receipt showing 3 round trip tickets, 2 travelers. Chat then referred me to airline, to which they have no contact details for me. Best advice, DON'T USE EXPEDIA, might spend a few dollars more with other sites, but won't get overcharged and will only pay what screen says total is. Am still searching numbers and answers, been over 3 hours trying to get answers.

On 5/19 my friend and I booked a complete vacation package for 4 adults/1 child through Expedia with flights and resort to the Bahamas leaving 6/12. While searching for airport transfers, we discovered Expedia had booked our flights to Nassau and our resort in Freeport. It was not until this time that we realized they were two separate islands! We called Expedia on 6/9 and spent HOURS being transferred from one agent to another. Although each agent was very apologetic and tried to help, they were unable to find us a different or connecting flight to Freeport. The next option was to change hotels, but they were unable to find a comparable all inclusive resort that allowed children in Nassau for our dates. After two days of trying to fix, our only option was to cancel the complete trip days before we were to leave. A refund for resort was given but only vouchers for airlines in which 1 airline charges a $99 fee for each ticket to change. We felt Expedia needed to make this right for their huge error and asked to expedite our problem to headquarters. We were first we were told we would hear back in 72 hours. After contacting them 96 hours later, we were told it would be another 5-7 days. We finally heard back from headquarters on 6/16. The lack of responsibility and customer service from headquarters was appalling. We were told there was nothing more they were WILLING to do, additional flight charges were out of their hands, it was not their fault but OURS for not noticing the airport error. Expedia is NOT a company that stands behind their services and they would rather place the blame on the customer than take responsibility for their errors. It was even pointed out to them that their website was still incorrectly booking the wrong airport with resort package. As of 6/16, the website is NOW corrected and giving correct flights. A formal complaint has been made with BBB, but wanted to warn and make others aware.

Expedia engages in consumer fraud and… Expedia engages in consumer fraud and failure to provide / apply credits, and tries to book you more expensive flights when speaking to Representatives. do your homework and book through reliable trustworthy entities. I had a credit that was guarantee me from a price difference in a previous booking. I conversed with several reps over time and was assigned a case number for my credit and told all I had to do was call and it would be applied to a future booking. this was a total lie. the representative who was an overseas operator, probably India, first stated she could not find my credit which I had previously been assigned a case number and had screenshots of all the conversations. then I was on hold for over an hour and a half in various 15 minutes increments wile she screwed around trying to figure it out. once she finally got back and said she had the credit I gave her the flight information and she told me that the flight was not available even though I was looking at it and all I had to do was purchase it. eventually I got so frustrated I hung up and bought the tickets without the credit. with a little digging I found a point of contact for Expedia customer operations. I then called my State attorney general and discuss the issue and they stated there was grounds for a class action consumer fraud lawsuit and all I had to do was file a case. I then wrote Expedia and threatened them with a class action lawsuit... within 12 hours I was issued the credit directly back onto my credit card. should you have problems with Expedia applying credits, (they have quite a history of consumer fraud issues) contact your state's attorney general. for resolutions use the points of contact provided here. contacts: Reuben Goldsmith Senior Director, Customer Operations 1111 Expedia Group Way W Seattle, WA 98119 regoldsmith (at) expediagroup (dot) com Traveler Resolutions: travelerresolutions (at) expediagroup (dot) com

So we attempted to rent a car, didn’t happen. They never went through on there part and still charged us for it. On top of it when we wanted our refund, they told us they’d processed , it didn’t happen. So 20 days later and still no money back. Such bull

My flight was canceled and they charged me a $200 change fee on top of the extra charge for the flight. It’s ridiculous. I will never book using Expedia again. My flight was canceled so It doesn’t even make any sense to have to pay a change fee of $200. A supervisor was supposed to reach out to me within 24 hours and they did not reach out. I had to keep calling to try to speak to a supervisor but I was never able to. I finally just gave up and gave in. I’m so upset and disappointed. I will NEVER be using Expedia for travel again.

Should have purchased my tickets directly from airline(s) instead of buying through Expedia. I am frustrated and have been unable to contact Expedia, be it thru their robot chat, or landline number. When you buy tickets from Expedia, you can still get screwed when they claim that they do not have your email/booking/reference/card details. That happened to me, and it gets into an endless loop of feeding them with your above details. There simply isn't a way to tell them that they effed up. THEIR BOT SIMPLY WOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO REACH OUT TO THEM.

I will NEVER book anything through Expedia again. It’s a complete hassle to change any reservation. Then they want to charge you more even though you have ‘no change/cancellation fee’. The absolute worst experience I’ve had making flight and rental car reservations. Plus they play this game of putting you on hold off and on 10-20 mins at a time, come back on and again put you on hold. My fourth call to Expedia today. One call was 2 hours. I finally just cancelled my flight and rental car. If you don’t address every individual charge they will not cancel it, e.g., rental car, collision ins, change of flight times charge. Even if you pay a little more, go through airlines. If you book through Expedia, you can’t get any help from the airlines. It has been a complete nightmare!

Don’t trust this company with its refund policy. It is extremely vague and there’s fine print that will allow you to cancel a 5$ refund policy instead of the reservation so please be careful with doing so; because obviously I’m worried about saving 5$ for the insurance rather than CANCELLING my reservation. Not only did this happen, when I called customer support and Indian decent Man whom barely spoken English writes a email to the hotel which is illiterate; and makes no sense. So obviously I am not getting my refund due to the FULL INCOMPETENCE of this corporation. Thank Expedia for taking money from me for a night I didn’t even stay. I will never recommend this site to anyone solely on customer service and hidden fine prints.

Expedia system fails multiple time, playing ping pong games with airlines - cant see anything in their system. Asked fore referral number, later asking again itinerary as without it can't find by reference number - WHAT A JOKE. Useless service. Missed connecting flight due to crappy airlines fault, and all flights got cancelled even return ones and no refund. Avoid this plague service from expedia.

My family used to use Expedia regularly, but in 2020 when we had to cancel our trip because our flights were canceled, Expedia promised credits or a refund, but never delivered. We followed up with Singapore's version of the Better Business Bureau (Consumer Association of Singapore) and with our Member of Parliament. Expedia just continued to promise. To date nothing. We don't use Expedia any more.

PUBLICpublished review 4/25/22 This is company is the absolute worst traveling company to ever deal with. Just remember they are just a middle man for your travel plans, and will never take any responsibility for any problems that occur. My first experience was when my fiancé used them in 2014 on a trip to Europe. We were stranded in France at the airport for 14 hours because they didn’t book the flight correctly. We got engaged in that day and was a total disaster. 2021 I hoped things changed so I decided to use them again. This place was in Atlantic City and once we walked in we could see this place was a dive. It was infested with bedbugs, blood on the sheets and the bathroom covered in p*** and s***. They took no responsibility and never got a refund. This time around my friend is getting married so I booked a hotel in the poconos. It was suppose to be paid when i arrived at the hotel, but took the 489.000 instantly. I called the hotel and the customer rep said they would not charge any fees. Expedia still refuses to give me my money back. Two hours of dealing with their horrible customer service. Please do not use this group to book a vacation. If people gave reviews it is because they had no issues, but if there is an issue they will leave you stranded. Looks at all the groups of people they have screwed over. Go directly to the hotel, airline, or car company. These guys charge fees and don’t help with any situation.
