“Had a terrible experience with Gotogate. Booked a flight and had to cancel. thankfully it was within 24 hours. But unlike other companies they don't even have free cancellation within 24 hours. It was my fault for not reading their cancellation policy. They charge 57 for agency fee which is listed on their website. In my opinion that was already already excessive. On top of that, they are charging me $35 for airline fee. The reason why this is infuriating is that I contacted TAP portugal airline (the airline I booked the flight for), and they said the cancellation is free if made within 24 hours. This is also listed on their website.
Essentially gotogate is double charging me in the amount of $92 with a bunch of made up fees. I don't remember the last time I paid this much for a service that provided with little to no value, a service that can be done with a couple presses of a button.
Completely outrageous, and with an icing on the cake. I email them with proof of the airline's policy, they didn't reply for 10 days. I called them, and was put on hold, then was disconnected in the middle of the call.
After calling again, I explained the situation and asked why I am getting charged this much for airline cancellation when the airline explicitly states that the cancellation is free, the representative basically repeated the same response multiple times without answering my question.
Will never, ever use this company again. Better yet, no more third party travel agency.”

“Like every other customer has identified in their reviews, this company are a nest of soulless snakes bred to rob you of money at every step of the way from start to finish.
Naturally, we're in a time where many flights are getting cancelled due to the pandemic. The is completely understandable and unfortunate, however imprisoning the customer into your system so that they have no choice but to accept your obscene £30 'handling fee', despite lying in your emails with 'you can apply for a refund for your trip, or we can do it on your behalf', is outrageous. Furthermore, they never respond to emails for simple queries or urgent requests like cancellations, you're forced to wait on the phone for upwards of half an hour to get through to a customer service agent in India. Note: I didn't give their call centre agent any grief whatsoever, it's such a shame they're having to take the frontline for this disgusting company, but what I am going to do is post this review on every single review site I can find, advise my friends and family never to do any business with them and never use them again. I truly hope your business crumbles during this dark time we're in, as you do not deserve to be operating with this level of greed, malice and deliberately planned difficulties for your 'customers' ('victims' would be more appropriate).”

They switched the date on my booking. When I called to find out why, After holding on for 1hr finally got through to an agent who said they cannot change it to the date I wanted and would get a superior to call me within 24hrs. I then asked if I could cancel the flight altogether, they said I could but wouldn't get anything. This was the 18th of December 2021. Today is the 2nd of January 2022, They have not even bothered to respond to me.
I tried calling them again, and after holding for 35mins, they finally answer. The man on the line asked me to hold for 2 or 3 mins, I agreed. Then he asked me to hold gain for 2 to 3 mins as it was "taking long" to find a matching flight. Then this time, he just dropped the call.

The biggest scam of all!!! They literally charged me 1400$ for nonexistent flight.
After confirming that the money is gonna be refunded back and that I should just go ahead and book a different flight because apparently the first one was a bust.
So I did!!!
Appears that that’s exactly what happened with the second one!
Now 3 weeks after I am without a flight and -3000$ in minus!! Because mofos completed both payments and placed a ban on charge back!!!!

“The worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. I've been hung up on, waited on hold for over 45 minutes many times and even when I do get through, I have not been helped. They have told me that their systems are down so they couldn't process my cancellation. They then told me after 4 calls that they don't actually process the cancellation even though I paid them for a cancellation policy. They said I would have to call each airline directly to cancel and then call them back to tell them what the airlines said. So now I have to wait on hold with two airlines and still call them back after. When I asked if there was an email or direct phone number I could call to deal with this after so I did not have to wait another 45 minutes on hold they told me no. Would never use again and would highly recommend that no one use them as your booking service.”
“I bought round trips to Nicaragua during summer with Gotogate - first of all, the price was WAY more than what it would be if you buy from actual airlines. I had to get it through them since the airlines had no more flights I needed. I did the Covid PCR test, got to the airport hours earlier to not leave anything to chance and the airline did not let me board - THEY SAID GOTOGATE HAD NOT "ACTIVATED" my name on the flight (what that means, months later I do not know). The airline Avianca told me that I should call Gotogate and see what's happening - so I called their customer serice (which is mainly in other countries) and spent HOURS waiting for someone to pick up. By then, I had missed my flight. When they picked up, they had no idea of what was going on and offered no help. Literally none. I have since called at least 20 times, asked for a refund, or even a simple explanation. Every time I called, a different rep would give me a bullish*t reason just to say something because I would not let them off the phone without an answer. They said that it was 1 because I didn't do the PCR Covid test (BUT I DID! I showed them the email confirming and showing how they even confirmed that they had received my results), then they said it was for X reason. I debunked them again. Then Y reason. After a while they admitted to not knowing what happened BUT WOULD NOT REFUND ME. I had to call Chase and request a refund for scam - which Chase understood. I would even personally send proof of all of this for whoever on the internet wants to reach out to me to show you the situation if it means that Gotogate never gets another customer again. I now know other people that had other problems with them since I've been spreading the word about my awful experience. Stay away!!!”

LDSMIN is my Booking number. They Failed to book my luggage on the way home. That’s fine no big deal. But then it’s $100 to pay the airline and gotogate only wants to refund me $60

Called gotogate 2times long holds. “Schedule call backs” no email contacts.
Also I got the itinerary from flair vs what I paid. Gotogate has a 50% margin.”
