Dear H. Samuel Customer Service, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a recent purchase I made from your store. I ordered the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) Men’s 47mm Black Strap Smartwatch based on the product description provided on your website, which indicated that the watch features solar charging capabilities. The primary reason I chose this model was precisely because of the advertised solar functionality. However, upon receiving the item, I was extremely disappointed to discover that the watch does not, in fact, have solar charging – it is simply a digital smartwatch. This misrepresentation has not only caused confusion but also led me to purchase a product that does not meet my needs or expectations. I kindly request that you review the listing and clarify the product details to prevent future misunderstandings. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if you could advise me on how to proceed regarding a return or exchange, as I would not have purchased this item had the description been accurate. Given the misleading nature of the listing and the inconvenience caused, I am also requesting appropriate compensation for the trouble and time wasted due to this issue. I am extremely disappointed with H. Samuel in Middlesbrough. I purchased my dream engagement ring in September 2023, and since then, it's been nothing but issues! The ring wasn't cheap, and my partner also took out insurance cover, yet we've had to send the ring for repairs twice already. The first repair took about 3-4 weeks, and now the second one has been dragging on for almost two months, which is absolutely shocking! The customer service is appalling — whenever we try to call, they have no answers and can't explain why the repair is taking so long. It's incredibly frustrating, especially when we're paying for a premium product and service. We should not have to chase them up every day for updates. The rings might look nice, but if you re considering buying an engagement ring and insurance, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The poor service has completely overshadowed what should have been a special purchase. Very disappointed

Brought four pieces of jewellery for my birthday November 4th 2022. Six months later the jewellery started turning. I went to store to get them fixed using the insurance they sold me. They said the couldn’t help me unless I had the written copies. I have called the helpline many times as well as the chat lines. They always say they are going to call or email back and never do. Fast forward to 2025 . I was told the company that has my polices is domestic and general. They told me my policy is expired but as I’ve been contacting h Samuel prior to the insurance expiring they will try to escalate the matter so I can get the jewellery fixed. Please be aware when they tell you they will call back or email you proof it’s a lie. Apparently although I have several files and complaints I’m there is no record of me contacting prior to November 4th 2024 which I find hard to believe. I didn’t bombard them with emails and calls in the space of two months I have been doing this for monthssssss. Update today: Spoke to Jocelyn at the head office who told me my mental health medication could be the reason why my jewellery turned and that they couldn’t assist me either getting a refund or the jewellery fixed. I tried to tel her what meds I was on so she can find out if chemicals in my meds contributed to them turning. She refused. The funny thing is I only started my med in 2024. Perhaps there should be a disclaimer on H Samir site that states people suffering mental anguish should stay away from our products. Please note I have tried to get my policy number and they refused me twice in store and many times on the phone. Even when they finally told me who holds the policy they refused to give me Domestic and Generals details and told me to just google it. Which I did and domestic and generals told me the process of how to recover my details… Domestic and generals were very friendly and empathetic my problem was not with them. Jocelyn told me someone would call me back and that they would not be able to get me a solution. Because although there is a several records of me contacting they can’t find me, even with the policy number etc. Was I scammed out of £400.00 I don’t know you tell me. I do have a recording of my encounter with Jocelyn and I did alert her of me recording the convo as I’ve lost hope in this company keeping their word when they say they are going to call me back or contact me. Now I am left with two earrrings a chain and a hold ring I can’t wear :) thanks

Here is a letter I sent ages ago to your head office, I never did receive a reply. Your service is appalling. Not I, nor my family/friends will ever enter one of your shops again. "H.Samual, I would like to register my dissatisfaction with our experience of H. Samuel. I purchased an eternity ring for my wife as an anniversary present in August last year and took up the offer of insurance at the time. Within 7 months, the centre stone of seven identical stones fell out. The stone was lost. On close inspection with a loupe, I could not identify any issues with the claws, they looked identical to all the others. On presenting it to your (hopefully) trained staff, they came to the same conclusion and noted it on the paperwork. After you had the ring for a couple of weeks we were notified that the assessment was that my wife had somehow damaged it. Even though this "damage" was invisible to myself (a highly qualified engineer) and your staff, someone concluded that it was our fault. you denied any liability for a ring that fell apart in seven months. It is difficult to understand how a stone, protected by three other stones on two sides had received an impact sufficient to dislodge it. Also my wife has arthritis in her hands, any strain or knock leaves her in pain for a number of days. In short, she would have been very aware had the finger received any trauma. This was not the case. We were therefore forced to have the ring repaired through the insurance. After a nine week wait, we were informed that we could collect our ring and that we had to bring our receipt along. We dutifully set out from our home following your instructions regarding the receipt and expected to be heading back with the ring repaired and now free of faults. Firstly, on attempting to collect the ring I was asked to pay a repair bill of £309, to which I strongly objected. Nobody had bothered to take note that this was being done through insurance, which is a basic failing on your part. As evidence, I produced the insurance docs again (they had already been noted on the first visit when the defective jewelry was submitted for repair) to which, your staff conceded that it was indeed free of charge. I was then asked for physical I.D. and told that nothing on my phone would suffice. If this is the case, this information should have been included with the instruction to bring the receipt. It's very simple to give and to follow two straightforward instructions. We were not allowed to leave with our ring, a situation which left me very angry and my wife fighting back tears as we left the shopping centre. This failing in your communication caused us to endure a 1.5 hour round trip back home to return with acceptable I.D. Can you imagine how incompetent this made you look and how annoying this might be to your customer? My wife now has mixed feelings about the ring, not only is the sentiment tainted with these bad experiences but she has also expressed a reluctance to wear it incase more mounts fail. I wish I had something positive to say but not even the staff seemed very sympathetic, the whole ordeal was despicable.

Ordered a ring online for Christmas, purchased a gift voucher from my employer to use specifically for the purchase and didn't buy this voucher until the ring was ordered to make sure all was ok. The following day received an email saying the order is cancelled 'at my request' but after contacting customer services I found out it was cancelled as it now isn't in stock. Extremely poor customer service from Charles in relation to this and definitely wouldn't recommend buying from here, I certainly won't buy from here again.

Trustpilot reviews Review of H.Samuel Martin Handley-Harrison 1 review GB Rated 1 out of 5 stars Updated 24 minutes ago I purchased a Bulova watch on line for… I purchased a Bulova watch on line for £595 which I presumed would be brand new and eagerly awaiting it's arrival only to open the box to find it's shop soiled where all of the plastic wrapping had been taken off, none of the tags were present and the pin to start the watch removed and time set and covered with finger prints. If I wanted a second hand watch I would have gone to eBay and got it cheaper but I thought buying from H.Samuel I would have got brand new. I can't express my utter disappointment and the warning to anyone considering to buy from them online if you are going to give a present to a loved one please check it first you don't want to give them a second hand item. Total disgust and spending £595 Unfortunately I have today 21st September spoke to Rakeeb who has told me the internet orders are set to the nearest shop and are for filled with display second so anyone this Christmas buy from H.Samuel on the internet will like me get shop soiled and not as we should get discount for that but pay full price thank you Rakeeb form customer service for telling me that.

Tried to place order and pay in full would not now let me had to pay in 4 installments. Not happy last time I could pay in full and that order was only 2 weeks ago. Will order from F Hinds in future who will take payment in full rather than part payment which I assume benefits Hilary Samuel. Not happy although I doubt I will get any response proving the nepotism between H Samuel and their third party part payment company. Argos would be my second choice and find their parent company are onanists.

Dont purchase online you have been informed - false advertised citizen promaster watch came without diver case - returning is an absolute nightmare and you won't get any confirmation when you return for refund nor will you get a quick refund 7-10 working days is what customer service told me - if you pay by Clear Pay you can postpone future payments but only for 2 weeks so you've returned the watch tracking has confirmed this and then the likelyhood is you won't get a refund in time before your next payment goes out if your bank even though you are no longer in possession of the watch as you have returned it to H.Samual for refund. The webchat is also a complete waste of time and incredibly stressful and frushtrating they wont even entertain "helping" unless you say you're returning for refund and even then say "maybe you'll get the right watch and dive box if we fet it from another store" might is not right! We cant live on maybes or maybe this us H.Samuals policy - Maybe we'll give you a refund maybe we won't - all the while all this non-refunded money from customers like me H.Samual can place in their high interest savings account what a clever devious company!

I have been a customer of Harrow branch over 14yrs but now new employees have taken up and especially the store manager name Jordan has not got professional mannerisms or customer friendly approach. I was really disappointed with his attitude when I requested to see a one earing £129 he said i can't see it with no light reflection in store When I told him how good the previous manger was he said he doesn't care. I didn't want to buy the earing and we have decided not to go to that store anymore. A manger should be a role model for employees and his dress code was so poor compared to smartly dressed employees.

3 engagement rings faulty now left with a ring sitting in a box because I'm afraid to wear it incase the diamond comes out again, would not recommend anyone to purchase a ring from here

Brought a rope chain at £280 first broke 6 weeks in sent for repair only to be told it had been pulled and would cost £58 to repair not so just fell off now 6 weeks since repair fallen apart again in a different place just cheap rubbish shall never buy from Samuel’s again

My Husband Purchased a cluster ring just over two years ago I had to take it in as small diamond came out was repaire only to fall out again 4 weeks ago only to be told I can't pay to have the one diamond fixed as it comes in a package at £250 in 50 year's that I have shopped in H /S I have never had problems with my diamond rings I can only put it down to buying cheap materials and work is not being done properly we'll I'm very sorry but they have just lost a loyal customer I will also be passing my views onto my Family and friends I now have to collect my ring and take it to another Jewellers to fix it 😡

my husband bought 2 things in this store and each of them broke several times. the chain keeps getting knots, it's so thin, it's gold and it costs a lot. wrist bracelet, clasp broken twice. I am dissatisfied and I don't want to buy anything there anymore.

Brought a wedding ring which we were told could be resized if required - I had bad skin at that point - when we took it back as it did need resizing was told it couldnt be done. So I now have a brand new unworn ring which is no good to me

Terrible service, went in to buy a Hugo boss watch and the entire time I was there did not greeted once, tried to attract the attention of one of the sales people by asking if the could also adjust the strap and she just bark "£20", that was it. Disgusting service, walked out and went to another jewellers. Sort your customer service out.

I'm disappointed with the service at H Samuel. I purchased a wedding double stack ring back in September and bought out insurance; at the time, I was informed it covers the complete set; now that I want to use my ring resize voucher, I'm being told that it will only cover one ring, how does that even make sense, it's a double stack ring how can I resize one and not the other, absolutely ridiculous ring policy. If a ring is bought as a set, surely it should cover the complete set. H Samuel, you should train your staff, particularly at the Huddersfield and Bradford store. I told them that when I purchased the rings, I was told they covered both, and the staff said they couldn't do anything now. Is that how you deal with customers? Appalling! They have no idea what service they are offering and are scamming people. A jewellery shop I would not recommend, and will be sharing my experience with others

Do not get your ears pierced in theKingston branch. They did a terrible job piercing my daughters ears. Complained to head office and they didn't care.
