Ordered a new battery for my Mercedes. Elected for free home delivery. The battery arrived well within the day promised and the courier even placed it on my bench for me. It was very well packaged and when tested for CCA was greater than expected. Best price and superb service - couldn't ask for more

Ordered a car seat for my grandson, was given a delivery date on or before the 12.04.2021 nothing arrived after waiting in all day, did an online chat which was pretty useless, tracking page does not work, rang customer services to be told they have escalated my situation and that the courier service had indeed delivered....no they haven't! asked for a refund and was told no as they have to find my delivery? Oh the delivery that has not been delivered!! Poor customer service, lack of communication....WILL NOT SHOP HERE EVR AGAIN!!!!

I recently (10/4/2021) visited the Halfords Auto-centre in Acocks Green, Birmingham and was met with Dan on customers services. Dan was new to Halfords but quickly dealt with my enquiry. He was brilliant at the way he handled my booking for a new battery on my Porsche (having been let down by Halfords City Centre). He made sure everything was in order, arranged the fitting himself and above all was very pleasant to deal with and as such I decided to book my MOT with them despite being £20 more than Kwik Fix. Its not always about the savings, but more about the experience and the way people deal with you. I drove away very happy having had my car stand idle for 15 months during the pandemic. Thank you Dan and thanks to the stafff at Acocks Green. Highly recommended Auto-centre. Raj

I put my bike in for a service with the government voucher £50 scheme ...I booked in ...took my bike to the local Halfords shop....to be told I wasn't booked in ..I was then told to bring my bike in a week later on a booked slot .then the Halfords guy tried to get another £20 out of me for the super silver service .. ..i was then told my bike couldn't be serviced on my booked slot because the mechanic was off that day ....three days later I phoned Halfords up to see if my bike was ready ....only to be out through to an Halfords helpline ....not a direct call to the local Halfords branch...after voicing concerns...they told my bike would be safe and that they where very busy....and they would call me when my bike was ready ...so all in all my bike has been in their care for nearly 4, days ...where it was initially booked in for an hour slot..🤔..

Had a free bike 'health check' done. I knew I needed a new cassette and chain, they told me I needed a new bottom bracket and brake pads too. Quoted £150 to do it all??! No way! I get that they obviously need to make money from this but that is extortionate! Rough estimate.. the cassette is £25, bottom bracket £10, brake pads.. front and back wouldn't cost more than £10. Took it to a family friend for a second opinion.. Halfords were wrong about the bottom bracket, we bought the same quality parts cheaper elsewhere and put new gear and brake cables on it too Halfords hadn't noticed they had rusted, striped the wheel hubs cleaned the bearings, adjusted the gears... Striped the headset.. the whole lot was looked at and cleaned. £35 it all cost in the end.. so.. Halfords.. would that have been £115 in labor costs??! It's convenient having a business do the work for you.. not everyone knows how to maintain and repair bikes and not everyone has the time or interest to learn, but you should be able to trust the business. I don't trust Halfords anymore, I'm glad I got a second opinion, I will never be paying Halfords to do work on any of my bikes in future and I will discouraged others from doing so aswell.

Went to Halfords Erdington today for a bike for my daughter, the bike we wanted wasn’t in stock so we brought a different one. While we were there we decided to buy our son an new carrera bike, £440. signage said ‘ride this bike away today’ we told the sale guy we want one but there was none in stock, we had a look on the internet while in the shop and it said there’s none in stock. I asked if I could buy the one in the shop that said ‘ride this bike home today’ he said no, that’s just display. The customer in front of us was trying to buy a £600 bike. In 1 afternoon out of 2 customer Halfords lists out on £1000 in sales. No wonder they are going bust when buying a bike has become such a long and frustrating process.

Absolutely hopeless from start to finish! Ordered a bike online to be built and delivered. Wrong size bike delivered twice, but the most infuriating and frustrating thing was the length of time it takes to get through to customer services (20-45 minutes) depending on how many times you get cut off or put through to someone you can’t hear or understand (Indian call centre??). Once you do get through you are frequently out on hold for long periods of time. My refund wasn’t straight forward either - they only refunded 10% of the total cost - so I spent a long time (several calls/live chats) getting it sorted. I have submitted a complaint to the ‘resolution expert’ but 3 weeks later I still haven’t even received an acknowledgment. Totally disappointing experience from start to finish and I will not use Halfords again.

Bought a 10speed bike cassette online, went in Taunton store to collect, Box was broken and one of the sprockets was old and covered in dirt and grease, Obviously switched for a new one ,was offered the cassette with a sprocket from a higher spec 10speed cassette, And was assured it would be ok, asked if the nearest store 10 mile away had one ,was told yes , drove to collect it, Took it home to fit, only to find the box that it was in said 10speed but the actual cassette was an 11 speed , so would not fit ,returned it the following day to Taunton, The only option left was to purchase the cassette I was originally offered that I was assured was now correct for my bike as the used sprocket had been replaced, Took it home to fit only to find The 10 speed cassette contained two 11speed sprockets, So again totally useless for my bike, You honestly could not make it up. Complete joke, I will not be using Halfords again

Booked bike in with fixyourbike government voucher scheme and spoke to two staff members explaining only needed one gear cable changed. Collected bike 8 days later to find bike still not fixed and needed to book it in for the repair. Apparently initial drop off is for assessment only. All staff very polite but feel they are working in a system which certainly did not work for me.

Ordered 2 new bikes went to get covid vaccine, out of the house for 1 1/2 hours checked before I left that there were no deliveries due, returned home to find both bikes in large boxes at side of house in full view of anyone!! Both boxes were totally bashed with several holes. Bikes both ok although husband's chain keeps falling off, would not use again.

@Halfords_uk I went to Halfords in Harrow, London to change my car battery, unfortunately after they changed the car battery, my car radio stop working and requested for a code I don’t have. Instead of them to take responsibility and fixed it. they basically told me to get lost.

Son bought mountain bike and on top paid extra for a service plan! After two weeks the rear spokes were all loose as result of not being tightened in factory, son simply tried for weeks too drop bike into any local Halfords and was fobbed off that would take weeks too see it as too busy, I took bike into shop myself where we were again told too busy and best take it elsewhere! While there a guy walks up to counter and asks if they could do repairs on his bike! He was booked in straight away as he hadn’t paid upfront like us ! In disgust we left bike at shop although told by Pearce from the Poole department that our bike will be left out back and may get damaged! It’s been a week and we have had no contact!
