Beckton Halfords worst store to have your car/bike or anything else checked because staff do not have a clue about anything they are doing. They would either find a problem which is not even there or if theres acctually something wrong they would not have a clue. clueless people getting employed by a clueless company. Why offer these services? Just stick to sales. Bunch of untrained muppets.

I am putting this here because Halfords deleted it from their own site trying to hide the facts of what their staff in one of their service departments has done: I dropped my son's car in to the service center to get a quote to fix the knocking on the front steering. I was given a quote to replace the damaged part and told the quote covered supplying a new drop link with fitting. When I checked myself that evening before getting the staff to do the job next day, I found there is no drop link on this car. The liars didn't know what to say when I went back in the morning. When I asked to speak to the to fitters who found the fault and provided the quote they were conveniently not there. I asked the manager how they were going to charge us to supply and fit a part that didn't exist and the manager had no answer. Disgraceful liars. I wonder who would have kept the money for replacing a part that couldn't be supplied nor fitted as there was nowhere to fit such a part on the vehicle.

The customer services at Halfords in Catford is absolutely atrocious. The staff I encountered have zero customer service skills. The matter was simple and all it needed was empathy and an apology but before my complaint could be acknowledged it escalated through three members of staff, including one manager. It was the second manager who had the common sense to listen to me, not be aggressive, defensive, rude or dismissive. He was the one who apologised only after I had pointed out that he was the fourth member of staff at Halfords I was speaking to about my complaint and no-one had the decency to apologise for the misinformation given on the phone earlier that morning. I had come as advised anytime after 12pm because there would be more fitters at hand. But having come during my lunch hour the only fitter there had just gone on his break. After an hour and 40 minutes of waiting and heated conversations it was the second manager who fitted the 2 light bulbs on my car. Obviously nothing could be done about the fact that the only fitter for the day needed a break and I would just have to wait. But the fact that I was being reprimanded verbally and visibly by the rude attitudes and dismissive behaviour of the 2 staff members and the first manager for initially being annoyed at the situation of being misinformed only fuelled to serve my annoyance even more. Naturally as the time progressed and having had heated exchanges with the 2 staff members and the first manager I had grown increasingly agitated, angry, fatigued and weak. The second manager fully refunded me as compensation for the stress caused by his staff's unprofessionalism and said he would talk to his staff members later about the whole situation. However, I left Halfords in tears out of anger and frustration. Needless to say I will never customise the Halfords in Catford again, neither will I recommend it.

I can see why you only have 3.1 stars. Anybody else having problems with online orders? Ordered a bike for my son, received an email stating it had been delivered. It hadn’t and there was no delivery card posted. I called and spoke to a girl called Kirsty who asked me to knock on people’s houses I’m my round asking if it had been delivered. Outrageous as that was, I declined and asked her to look into it. She said she would contact me. She didn’t. Called again today asking for a refund and they have refused. Not a bad money earner charging people for items not delivered. They actually don’t know where my parcel is but I have to pay for it. Any advice?

Never ever going to get something fixed in Halfords at Beckton Triangle Retail Park. People don't know what their doing nobody is supervising them they looked like apprentices and they were left to take costumer orders by themselves laughing and giggling just so unproffesional. Even if they were employed fully they didn't know what they were doing asking each other how to fix the problem and standing there just clueless. Never leave your bikes or anything there to fix. Not trustworthy at all.

Over the recent year I have had my bike serviced. This was a Gold Service in 2018. Unfortunately the bike has never worked correctly since then. I had taken the bike back several times within that year but found out the store was not really interested in the problem. It appears that the mechanics are too interested in Not doing the service correctly. I have up. Took the bike indie a Silver Service in 2019 and so far the bike has been back once more. The mechanic in my view did nothing as when I road it away the gears were still not working. This is ongoing and has now been sent to the area manager. Whatcha this space

I’m a cyclist. Use my bike for years now, recently i had my good v brakes sticking to my rim, every time I pressed the break...i was sure that’s it’s quite easy to repair ( usually clean and oil the mechanics)...as i was on the way in dark rainy day, i saw the halfords shop, and thought that i should fix the break, as it’s dangerous to ride...got into a shop, and after speaking with mechanics, they had a quick look...and said to me that the mechanics of my brake is bust, i need a new brake...what sounded quite unbelievable...so went on the road with still bad break. Next day, took apart the break, oiled it...it works and it didn’t fail for a last month.... And today i went to the shop to get some inner tubes for not my bike, so needed an advice, but 15min in the shop I didn’t see anyone on the floor except security...

We had our car repaired (total cost over 1k) and 2weeks later all electronic failed whilst driving. Absolutely horrific experience, especially with my 10month old in the car... We took the car back to the service and couple of days later they advised the suspension belt they've replaced failed and its completely damaged. Long story short, the car is in service since Monday 20th October and since then, they've done various repairs and replaced various parts in it and it still hasn't been fixed and they actually don't even know what is causing the issue. There is very poor communication with the service it self, they almost never call with an update and don't even pick up the phone. I was in touch with customers servise, where senior claim manager advised me, the area manager will call me, however, they haven't...this was last Tuesday.. I've tried to contact them on numerous occasions by email and phone and I am being completely ignored. Absolutely no answer whatsoever. Out of the frustration, I've called regular CS this morning where I was advised the manager will call me today and shockingly, they've failed to call again. This is 3th time i was promised a phone call and they don't even have a decency to do that. This has been absolutely dreadful experience from the start and unfortunately it hasn't finished yet. Shame I cannot give 0 star rating!

Dreadful from start to finish.... Ordered a girls scaled down moped on line , did not receive an order confirmation, although money was taken from my bank and a KLARNA plan set up. I assumed my order had not gone through... however two days later delivery van turned up with the order, still no delivery note or invoice with the delivery...the bike was far too small for my daughter so decided to repack it just return to Halfords. The customer facing person was just awful, she kept asking for an order number I had never been given and was most unhelpful. I had to threaten a formal complaint before she bothered herself enough to look for the order from my personal details. I am in the process of returning but have still not been given an order number so not confident the package will find its way back to the right account and I will not be refunded. Needless to say I shall not be shopping with Halfords again online or otherwise..

Halfords diabolical Autocentre Service MANCHESTER ROAD,BOLTON Tues 29/10/2019 @ 1pm HALFORDS ... MANCHESTER ROAD,BOLTON After searching online for a car battery, I decided to settle on purchasing from Halfords. The battery was £125 + £15 fitting,I took all the details and drove to Halfords Autocentre Reception on Manchester Road,Bolton. On my arrival there was just 1 customer in reception I assumed he'd just had work done as the person in reception was printing out his receipt, the guy said to me "I won't be a minute" after 10 minutes I was pacing up and down, just then two women walked in. Eventually the guy asked what I wanted,I asked if there was any chance they could fit me a battery,I gave him all the details of the battery and price I had been quoted by Halfords online. After wasting my breath giving him all the details,he decided to check himself and then told me "it's £140 fitted" (fancy that same price as I told him) then he said "I will have to nip next door to check if we have any, as it is a big battery "I won't be a sec 2. He then turned to the women at the back of me and asked if he could help them, after all this time being messed about I blew up and told him to forget it! Just before leaving I told him serve one customer at a time,he then mumbled "I won't be long" I walked out. I tried to phone Halfords, guess what? A long, long wait,I hung up in the end. If the rest of the staff are as slow and as the snail that served me (no he didn't actually serve me,he decided to serve somebody who came in after me.) they certainly need training. I have been a store manager for over 20 yrs and any member of my staff were as utterly incompetent as this assistant, they would certainly be getting a verbal warning, why pay bad staff when there is plenty good sales staff out of work.

Took a bike wheel in for repair. Quoted £10. When we went to collect it could not be found. Gave staff the order number but after literally 3 mins in the workshop he came back empty handed saying the engineers had left for the day & we should come back in an hour & the manager would find it. Not amused. We left. Came back next day. Same result after 20mins in a queue. Told the guy to look for blue aircap & finally he found it after 2 attempts then charged me £12!!

When they fitted my roof bars they managed to not engage the boot on both sides of the rear bar causing my glass roof to crack! When I complained they denied responsibility! Halfords Ilkeston are absolutely useless and the management are 10 times worse! You need a -100 star on here!!

I had the misfortune to attend Halfords at Crystal Peaks, Sheffield today where I was confronted by an empty store and no sign of a staff member for ten minutes, (good job I’m honest). After ten minutes a female staff member returned from outside, (cigarette break) and told me the parts Manager would arrive shortly.......another ten minutes elapsed prior to exiting the store never to return, loss of sale £229...very poor service from a High Street store in a ridiculously competitive market.

Huddersfield Branch. Just had my car MOT failed. I have been told it is due to my brake discs being warped. I brought to the mechanic attention that I had only recently had full brake discs and pads changed from themselves not so long ago. He checked his system and confirmed this was only three years ago! I had paid £220 for the front pair! I’ve only done 17,100 miles during that time! I drive very careful too. Never hard in the brakes. They should last between 25,000 to 60,000 according to the RAC. They must have sold me and used VERY poor products! 🤔😖

Really bad customer service. If you are thinking of buying a bike from Halfords. Dont. Ordered a bike to be delivered to my home for my son's birthday, was wrong bike in the box. I took it to the store (which meant borrowing a car I could fit it into as it was huge) and the ordered correct bike. It came and they built it, it was the wrong size. Told me to come back 3 days later to collect correct size. Did so and bike wasn't built, it went on like this for some time. My sons birthday was 3rd August, he got the bike on 18th. The staff at the bike section were always short staffed and could not deal with the amount of customers. I think a "proper" bike shop will be where I buy my next bike from.
