Bought a Crossfire 3 bike that Bilston built. Within weeks the stem bolt came loose and the brakes faded to such a degree my old V brake bike brakes were better. I returned it for a full refund. I submitted an honest review on the website and guess what it’s nowhere to be seen. If my experience is happening elsewhere Halfords product reviews are worthless if all they are showing are positives.

Sadly, I have had a disastrous experience after getting a local Halfords Autocentres to fit a Nextbase front and rear dash cam to my car. Having left the store and arrived home, I set to look at the cameras and check all the features- no explanations could be given at the store “due to Covid”! It was then I noticed that the headlining in front of the front camera was sagging, and the a pillar lining was folded back on itself, revealing some of the wiring. I had been offered the deal of a “free fitting kit” also- which I subsequently found was on the bill anyway! I took photographs there and then, and contacted Halfords directly online, being reluctant to go back for more potential damage. I had a reply four days later saying that someone would soon be in touch... no reply for over two weeks. Eventually, the store manager contacted me asking for copies of repair invoices and emails. A day later, Halfords replied that they denied all liability, a statement from the fitter stating that job was done ok and fingerprints cleaned etc.. Are they suggesting that someone subsequently broke into my car, and had a bash at Re-installation, messing it all up? Watch this space!

Bought a Bicycle on 9 September. Delivery meant to occur on 17 September. Received an email today all of a sudden that I am being refunded. No explanation. One department blames the courier company and the other just advises they don't know why it was refunded and not willing to find out. Terrible service all round

Please thank your staff at Worcester store for their excellent customer service. We had an issue with a headlight bulb and after finding the correct bulb they kindly fitted . The assistant was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately he didn’t have a name badge on but hadn’t worked at the store too long . Saturday 19 September 09.35 . David Boddy

Bought a bike, the front brakes have failed 3 times. They refused to give me a refund. Sold me a death trap. Staff very rude at edge lane store, liverpool. If I sold a car with faulty breaks is that not against the law.

bought new carrera vengance bike for my son, it was assembled by halfords in KIrktall. When we got got it home noticed thefront wheel & handlebars weren't allignned & steering wasn't tightened. He rode it to his friends the day after using road & track for the approx half mile journey, when he came down the drive the back wheel came loose & the derailer trapped in wheel spokes bending it round & damaging the frame. I rang both Kirksatall & my local Keighley branches several times to no avail. I took bike back to Keighley, where the staff were apologetic & helpful & ordrered a new bike.It was mentioned that they've had problems with the rear wheel of carreras, I did question how it had been built & safety checked by 2 of Halfords technicians? A bike with loose steering plus wheels that fly off is an accident waiting to happen, my son was lucky not to be injured, and it's complete incompetence. Keighley agreed & promised my new bike will be built by senior technician & checked by manager. I felt better with regard to this stores competence until on leaving we met a lady who had just picked up her new carrera bike to discover the back wheel was loose! My confidence in my new bike being safe is low

Phoned the Eastbourne branch and spoke to Gerry by phone explaining I had a problem with my car battery and was reluctant to turn the engine off until I knew what was wrong. I thought it was the Earth Strap as a nut had sheared off. He met me outside with a new Strap and asked his colleague to perform a battery check. It needed a new battery too, (the old one kept discharging), which they were able to supply a AND fit. I was back on the road within a few minutes. Absolutely fantastic service, thank you.

Overall, I am happy with Halfords. I buy their own brand car oil, filters, wipers and light bulbs. Their fitting service is excellent and the labour costs are competitive relative to main dealers. Staff are helpful and competent. I try to avoid peak times for obvious reasons.

Purchased car battery early this year and had it fitted at Altrincham branch. Caused major electrical damage to my MC benz resulting in my car being sent back to Mercedes to be fixed. Yes Halfords insurance provided me with a hire car for three weeks but my car has not been the same since. I wrote to the ceo of Halfords by recorded delivery who has not had the courtesy to reply. The battery provided and installed by Halfords was removed by Mercedes as it was unfit and unsuitable for my car. It was replaced by a Mercedes battery. An apology from the ceo would have restored my confidence in Halfords but clearly customer satisfaction is not his priority.

Shockingly poor customer service and communications with this company - the UK's biggest retailer of bikes. I purchased a bike last Thursday and was told in their website it would be available to collect in store on the Saturday, two days later. I received a call from a rude member of staff who said that it wasn't in the store at all. I phoned up the customer service number only to be dumped back on the store to the same guy. I phoned them back again and got through to their call centre staff where I spoke to an extremely apologetic woman but she still could only ask the store what the issue was and got the same response from them. I was then promised it would be in store, built and ready for me today and I would receive a call. No such call ever came to me. I just phoned the store and cancelled the order. Avoid spending your money in this hellhole of a retailer and take your custom to somebody that actually values it. It isn't Halfords.

Have just visited the Folkestone store, where I was helped by Ed who made sure my Halford’s child car seat was fitted correctly. Much appreciated his help and professionalism. He is a credit to your business, and gives me confidence in buying products from you in the future.

so today I went to collect my new bike as I received a message it was ready. I had to wait and watch while some young emo girl tried to adjust the seat by forcing the nut the wrong way!.. after a few attempts and trying a different spanner I had to explain to her the correct way to undo a nut!.. This didn't fill me with any confidence so when I got home I had to check all the nuts n bolts, at which point I realised one of the reflectors was broken!!!... Its only a cheap bike, but even so... come on.. get the fxxxxxg basics right!!...

Worst service ever! 5 hours waiting to pass an MOT even if we had an appointment already booked. We arrived there at 8:30, they said it would take a couple of hours and would give a call when ready, at 11 nobody called so we went back assuming it would be done just to see the car was parked where we left it...then they said it would be ready at 12 but at the end we had to wait till 1:30

Employees attack and assault you beware! I recently went to try a bike for size medium or large before ordering online once in stock. I got permission to try a bike by a staff member then seconds later another employee got right close to me 60cm away and started shouting at me to get off the bike!? He started shouting louder to get everyone's attention?? As I have a medical condition/shielding I asked him to get back a number of times so I can get off the bike to stop him shouting/being abusive, he does'nt listen and carrys on so i had no choice but to push him back to make space. At which point a blonde haired employee with tattoos on her arms starts shouting assault assault and your disgusting! Then she calls the police! Other employees rush to the scene with aggressive and threatening body language. I asked for the employees name but they wouldnt provide it then they began forcing me out of the store bruising my arm in the process. Later after I decided to call the police they then said they were now going to drop the whole allegation of assault!? I honestly did nothing wrong and simply came to check out the bike frame size and I ended up getting attacked/assaulted by these paranoid employees. Halfords will take no responsibility for their out of control employees and they have no processes in place for social distancing within this store and quite possibly others. These employees are simply looking to take out their frustration on customers so please take note, avoid it if you can. I have made a statement to the police who are looking into this criminal matter which halfords is attempting to take no responsibility for! They attack you and then in this case unsuccessfully try to pin it on you. Stay safe people Covid is having unpredictable affects on people especially these lot at Hendon! Good bye and good riddance Hendon store...you are the weakest link!
