Dear Sir/Madam, 3 years ago from your Putney /London branch I purchased a CBoardman MX race bike with 3 year care plan. Last year I left it in the shop for annual check up. they forgot to check the brakes issue I raised, finally when the breaks totally jammed after sometime I took it back to the shop for fixing during which they lost the front wheel valve cap. This year on the 16th September/LAST WEEK I took back to again to same Putney branch for annual check up, they identified that only the chain to be replaced c£24 and estimated collection date is 17th September. One week passed and I called them up today no one picked up the phone and my bike is still in the shop. Could you explain what is happening ? I believe late service is bad service. I need my bike ...Thanks for your help in advance. Ercin AKTANER

Visited Chester greyhound park store wanting to buy a bike for my daughter and partner. Lads on the counter couldn't care less about customer service and were just rude. They then told me the bike I wanted wasn't in stock and sent me to Ellesmere Port store where it was available. Surprise suprise on arrival I was told it wasn't in stock and was discontinued. Thankfully Chris at the store was more than helpful and found me another suitable bike and I bought two from him, iv since visited the other Chester store and Sam on the bike counter was also extremely helpful and knowledgable about the bikes in stock and I purchased another bike for myself. Clear lack of knowledge and training at the greyhound park store, really lets the company down and il never buy from that store again. Wasted a lot of my time.

Halfords did 2,services on my car, took it to the dealer for my latest service as it was smelling of burning. Turns out Halfords hadn't changed a number of the expected service parts such as filters and they were so clogged the motor was burning out. Useless avoid like the plague

My teenage son took his bike into Halfords Bexhill on sea to have the brakes replaced, and they decided to check the whole bike, stating that it needed new chain and gears that would cost £108. They point blank refused to change the brakes and have insisted they needed to get the other repairs done or they would be liablie. The only liability as far as we are concerned is they were happy to leave unroadworthy brakes on my son's bike. Will not be using Halfords again

Took my 3 year old seat in for an interim service and mot, later received a phone call saying it had passed but had a leaking rear wheel cylinder ! Which they would replace for nearly 200 quid ! I declined this and said I would get it done later as found wheel cylinders for under 20 quid online ! When I went to collect car they tried to charge me for balancing 4 wheels and had only done 3 which apparently was lack of communication between staff, more like they thought I was stupid ! So all in all I would never use them again ! So a big warning stay away from halfords Sydenham they are useless con artists !

the rating refers to the way you treat your customers ? after buying a satnav i filled in the on line competition and promptly started getting dozens of spam e mails, since buying my first computer 3 years ago, number of spam e mails 2, since buying a satnav from Halfords and entering the competition number of spam e mails about 80 and counting ? i think this is a disgusting way to treat your customers, i don't know what financial remuneration you receive for this but i for one will never again purchase anything from you again ! if this is the way you feel a business should be run then i hope you fail miserably, it's unethical and immoral

Left my bike overnight for a puncture repair in the bournemouth store, to discover as i was about to cycle home when i collected it the rear brakes hadnt been cliped back into place. If i hadnt have known what it was meant to look like i would have been cycling on the road without any rear brakes and couldve caused a serious accident! i phoned the store to speak to a manager and all i got was a sorry, not impressed, and very worried about how many cyclists dont know there brakes are working properly. This is not the first 'rare occassion' ive had with this store where theyve repaired my bike and caused more problems

Went to walsall halfords, interm service. I asked to check engine oil and also do diagnostic. Car returned. After one day's dashboard signs back and oil engine low sign. Went back and guy simply said he was not here last time will do new diagnostic and phoned me after 3 hrs and gave Ma a quote to repair. It was £550. I went to BMW specialist and he charged £ 50 for same job. Please avoid halfords or atleast check other people. Will never go there again.

Just went to Halfords Norwich to purchase a bike for myself and husband, we both liked the Voodoo bikes in the sales. Spend quite a bit of time trying them for size, salesman very helpful and informative on the products itself, and we said we would take two :) Salesman went to order and and then returned saying both bikes are out of stock, and does not know when they will be back in stock, that goes for most of the Voodoo range, cannot order my choice in frame size at all now :/ Why have bikes on display that you can spend around half an hour trying/choosing but cannot buy? or even be given a date when they will be back in stock?

BEWARE complete con merchants, do not buy tyres from Halfords, failure to disclose full price when phoned and asked how much to replace a tyre, was quoted £62.96 when I got the bill it was £73.93 extra for disposal, extra for valve, extra for balancing, and they just don't care

If you need anything changing quickly don't go to the halfords in Uxbridge shockingly slow and tried to sell products which were not needed. Still waiting for a lightbulb to be font red after 35 mins. Nobody seems to want to help despite having paid for it to be done.

I bought a Ring smart charger used it twice the second time it didn`t work. Halfords replaced it I used the replacement twice and second time it went wrong Halfords won`t replace it as it is over 12 months old. I bought an Aplollo gents bike for £199 and a ladies bike for my wife also £199 the week after they were selling them for £99 each. Also the bike is the wrong size for me and I can`t ride it. I bought their top socket set and the ratchet handles all broke the first time they were used. The promised replacements never materialized. I can`t say anything else bad about Halfords as I no longer shop there!!! I would advise you to be the same!! Halfords are welcome to contact me about these issues if they care!

Phoned Halfords Stamford to book my "nextbase dashcam" for hardwireing to my car, fitter booked me for 10.30am Friday 26th June, got there early (10.15am} only to be told the fitter does not start until 11.30am??? after complaining a fitter arrived at 11am, he then proceeded to dismantle my car (Jag xf) looking for a live feed only to fail on both the passenger and drivers side, by 1pm he gave up put my trim back and said we have your number when I have spoken to our electrical supplier we will phone you and arrange for you to call in. By the 1st July I got fed up waiting for his call so phoned only to be told sorry the fitter is not in today I will get him to phone you on the 2nd?? yes you guessed right no phone call so far( Sunday 5th July 10.30pm) On Saturday the 4th July I asked my neighbour (chief mechanic at Vauxhall Melton) to look at it, it took him about 10 mins to complete the job. WOULD I USE HALFORDS AGAIN, NEVER A VERY UPSET EX HALFORDS CUSTOMER Alan Hunt

Took our daughters bike to Halfords at Netherfield in Nottingham as we needed a quick service before her 'Bikeability' course at school. The rear brakes were not working fully and the front gear gog not engaging properly. Ideal. They have a £30 service that does just that, brakes and gears! Except it doesn't. The bike has come back with no discernible difference, Absolutely appalling. There is no sign that ANYTHING has been done and the staff member who happily took my wife's money did not mention any problems with the gears or brakes that remained. We don't have time to get it sorted but I will not allow my daughter out on it, she will have to do 'Bikeability' on her older brothers bike!

I would like to inform people of how bad my experience was with Halfords instore, online and customer service has been on a recent attempted purchase so as to warn other potential customers as to the incredibly poor service that may be expected when purchasing from Halfords. To summarise I bought items through Halfords Ebay a couple weeks ago. I was informed via the Ebay App that my items were ready for collection. I travelled to the store expecting my items to be ready for collection but ended up waiting for 30 minutes which meant I missed my dental appointment. I was told that ebay were at fault at first and that they would get the items re-ordered and they would let me know when they had arrived. I was called 4 days later and told that my items were ready for collection again. Again I travelled to the store and once more was left waiting 20 minutes for items that they searched for and could not find. I was told that it wasn’t their fault again and that Halfords ebay is not the same as Halfords (they use the same name and logo and have the same customer service though). I then waited a further 10minutes to receive a refund on my items and left the store to call the customer service people to explain the situation. They did attempt to call back and left a message. When I got home I checked the total I spent on ebay and found they had short changed me when refunding the amount instore. I spoke to the customer service line again on Monday and have been told after suggesting they make a donation to charity to make up for the inconvenience caused that they would compensate me with 10 pounds plus a 40p per mile refund. When I asked about the 2 and a half hours of my time wasted, they said they couldn’t do anything and this is how they resolve all customer complaints. I really feel as if Halfords haven’t taken the issue of wasting peoples time as if you look at the feedback on their ebay account it seems it is an ongoing issue of people being told their items are ready for collection but aren’t there. Other people have complained on the other negative feedback comments of struggling to get a refund on their mistakes in the past also. I used to think Halfords actually cared about their reputation, but I have been left absolutely infuriated by their apparent lack of valuing a regular customer. I have already found other outlets for all the items I needed and the other regular items I would buy from them.

i bought a car stereo from halfords. The customer service at my local halfords is rubbish as theres always noone around on the tills and you have to go look around for them. I was told my car stereo was compatible with my car when i bought it and i was told that they wouldn't accept refunds on car stereos? so i decided to make sure it was the right one and i asked him to make sure it would be compatible with my car. when it came to fitting it we first tried fitting it in the halfords carpark just incase we needed help, i asked one of the employees for some help and he told me he would go check on his computer and come back. I was waiting for ages and he didn't even come back. Secondly Due to it not being compatible i had to buy several different wires and get it professionally fitted and that cost me twice as much. I now have it installed in my car and also need some separate wires to get the radio to work...I've never been so annoyed.

Halford's Staff were helpful getting me to spend money on a roof box and bars. As soon as the money was in the till, i was abandoned, not even an offer to get to the car park with large boxes. With young child in tow, i missed out on the joy and nice feeling of having bought something, expensive and useful, but left feeling angry and resentment as fitting the thing in the car park (only option to get it home) was tricky and child couldn't be left alone with offer of assistance from the staff not apparent. They just wanted my money. Well done. You'll get no more.
