Do yourself and your family a favour and don't book with Holiday Autos. We provided them with our flight number and they where aware of our arrival time. They offered us a car hire company that closed 1 hour after we land. This was a very cheep and non branded car hire company wee outside the airport - All of the Major ones are within walking distance from the airport. The office was closed when we arrived and holiday autos take no responsibility. Book direct with the car hire company - May cost a little more but you will ensure you have the support direct from the hire company.

Warning - they totally screwed me over! I arrived in Ancona, Italy with a reservation through Holiday Autos. For some weird reason, the hire company couldn't accept my cards (I had 4 Visa Cards and 1 MasterCard, 2 of which were credit cards, 3 debit. They tried one of my credit cards and their machine wouldn't register it. Then refused to try other cards. I was left without a hire-car on a road-trip, Ruined my holiday. This wouldn't have happened if I would have booked directly with the car-hire place. Holiday Autos have refused to refund me or deal with my complaint unless I send them lots of bank statements. So my holiday got ruined AND I still had to pay for it. DO NOT USE THEM - better to book directly as if you have a problem its much easier to deal with!!

Paid £387 GBP for 8 days rental after I broke down on my way to Dover then Calais France ,so only option was renting a car to catch my ferry after my breakdown insurance wrongly booked starting date so I was not covered on that day. I spoke with Hertz and Holiday Auto The agent confirmed to me that MAN Airport takes debit card and if any issue to ring back. She was professional and very helpful during taking payment. Paid the fund plus insurance and went to collect at Man Airport 11PM Very cold with 4 kids,Agent started asking if I really wanted 8 seaters 3 times I said yes, he went in and out for 30 minutes only to be told that I failed a credit check and I will not get the vehicle to contact experien for reason.I showed him I have experien account in my mobile it can't be,he insisted that in his computer it shows customer not found so he is initiating the refund and I should receive within next 5 working days. I offered him another card he said no it has to be same card I used to book to run a credit check and he does not know the reason why he can not see me at all in his database. Today is 10 days back from holidays no refund I contacted them only to be told maybe I did not have enough money so I need to send them proof. this time she is no longer helpful because is to pay back the money ,I had enough money with 6 times the amount they required for deposit ,I sent them bank statement now they are looking into this ,agent confirmed I spoke to them regarding debit card prior booking but does not know the reason why I was not given so it might take 20 days to establish and I am entitled to some compensation not a refund . I told her I need full refund not a compensation and this is what the Customer service told me Hertz should not offer u a refund, So beware some TC they asked you to confirm with a car rental company but when it comes to pay back this does not apply as HERTZ Clearly states refund will be given in I don't know the reason myself what was the reason I did not have the car, is it a Credit check or no car I have no idea. I will take this to my Bank to claim chargeback first this is not one of the TC that if you fail credit check no refund will be given . I give them 14 days to resolve first .I have high score on my experien and my name is on electoral with no bad credit I can see the search they done appears in my credit search the same day so I need to know why they did not give me the car ended up losing 4 nights of hotel booking plus missing ferry which I am now claiming through travelling insurance . Now I have accepted Cheap is expenses (buy cheap and always buy another one cost you more while buy expensive and stay with it forever.. Today they reply to me that tc states if u fail security no refund so I have no idea what I failed because I would not fail security I had all documentation as u know I was traveling.. Passport, Drivers licence, bills, work bank statement etc. And my name clearly on eloctral.. Now I'm waiting 20 days to hear from them. I believe hertz did not have the car that day cause prior to this I rented with Thrifty car for a month and had no issue.

We booked a car for 4 days to collect at midday from Milan airport, however we were delayed and arrived at 5 pm to collect car from Gold Car. We were told that we were too late & our agreement had been terminated by you. We paid for the car for 4 days so whatever time we turn up should make no difference. We had to hire another car which showed online price of 70 euros got charged 299 euros, if we wanted on line price we would have to wait 3 hours! It a total scam as our friends booked with Avis and they were delayed the at same time and were able to pick up their car without an issue. .

We missed our flight and had to fly out the following day and when we tried to amend the booking online it would not let us do it as it was less than 24 hrs before pick up. Phoned them and nobody was answering their phone. We ended having to pay for a weeks hire even though we didn't have the car. Avoid this con company at every cost, it's not worth the few pennies you save when you book with them as their customer service is non existent,,,

Holiday Autos refused to do this, and declared us a "no-show". They then hung-up when we asked for a refund. We were left stranded at the airport until we were able to arrange alternative travel to our destination, and missed much of the wedding we had traveled to Italy to attend.

Bunch of cheats; I had booked and cancelled with one day as it showed free cancellation; but they refusing to pay back saying money held with insurance company. Pls request you to avoid at all cost..they may seem cheap but end up paying more. Pray that the company shuts down to prevent more people for cheating. Guess cheating is in management and blood..

Avoid this company. If you are delayed or time of pick up changes by over 2 hours they cancel your car hire and will not refund. Hard to speak to anyone about this and the fob you off. The is no complaints contact number either. Rip off company

Very poor service! The let you book with a debit MasterCard but only after cashing in the rental price they send an E-Mail quoting that you need a credit card and that a debit card is not acceptable! Not really bad-but inconvenient!!!! Then at the rental company it is set clear that also you need to present a flight ticket back to your home country or a rental cannot be issued! Already a rental not suitable for travelers! The more annoying it is that you’re not provided with a phone number but a live chat robot which doesn’t offer any solution! Lucky enough the guys from the rental service had a number which worked as the one quoted as result of a google search doesn’t work! The guy on the phone then is barely understandable and tells you the „case will be dealt with within 48 hours to 21 days“ Result: WE BOOKED SIXT!!!!!! Cause this is no service but fraudulent ripoff!!!!

Holiday autos is a crappy company which lies on the advertising, "no extra cost" which is a lie. I'VE RENTED A 7 SEATER IN BARCELONA FOR 6 DAYS AND IT ENDED UP COSTING ME 200€ EXTRA. So altogether 6 days costed me 360 euros and they quoted me at first 160 with unsurance. Never again!!!

They couldn't take the 500€ desposit on my credit card as they advised my card is not acceptable. I asked to take another card they advised they can't because i booked the car rental on my credit card- this was odd. They gave me options: to take up additional car rental insurance with them or cancel the booking. I called my bank to investigate the problem. They advised the card wasn't the problem it's the car rental merchant. I tried calling holidayautos many times could not get through. I had to pay additional £120 for car rental insurance. The car i recieved was in poor condition and filthy. I requested a full tank fuel. I recieved an empty tank. What was interesting the same scam happened to another customer i met on my flight to Turkey. This is a win-win scam. I would recommend not to meet and greet as they put you in predicament situation. 17.10.2019 Just received an email from holiday autos. They are not apologising. They are saying in Laymans terms, " its not our problem, get over it ! "  I believe all the positive comments on the websites are fake. Please avoid. I have been conned. Please share this and spread the word.

Avoid these people at all costs. 10 day rental on Crete - first car so worn out gear selection was only possible with much effort. They had no car to swap it for 3 days then the replacement was even worse. Dangerous in fact. Complaints process poor. They have just offered €15 compensation! They sub-contract to cowboys who put lives in danger. Avoid

Absolutely avoid at all costs Absolutely avoid at all costs! Will ruin your holiday or hire experience. I booked a car through holiday autos. Only once booked do they mention that you have to have a valid credit card for collection. But they are happy to take the money from your debit card. Once booked and the money is taken there is no option for a refund or cancellation. The biggest scam artists out there. They have no customer contact number and the website is awful to navigate once a booking is made. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!!

I Wasn't Allowed To Rent The Car I recently booked a rental with Holiday Autos (Holiday) for a car in Romania. It turns out I now need an International Driver's License (IDL) to rent a car in Romania. I don't have an IDL. The IDL was not in the main list of items Holiday had included in the things I needed to show to the rental agency. Instead it was in fine print on the rental voucher not on the main booking page. See the attached image for the information they sent. It was a very lazy way to communicate the required documentation. I suppose this is technically legally permissible (maybe), but it was very unclear and poorly communicated. It caused me a lot of stress when I went to get my car with the agency and was rejected. I had to cancel two hotel nights and find a new accomodations in the city at 10pm. I had to totally change the trajectory of my trip. And when I chatted with their online support, all I got was a "sorry, you signed the agreement, we will not give you a refund and there are no exceptions. Anything else we can help you with?" They did not say they would note that the wording on the site was unclear. Nor did they say they'd even look into it. They simply said I couldn't have any refund whatsoever (on the rental I am not legally allowed to take out). Please note this company does not have good customer service. I understand I technically probably legally was in the wrong. But, do you really want a booking agency playing tricks on you or being unclear when you're traveling?

I booked my car for the 13-day period on the 04th September 2019. Holiday autos sent me the confirmation and all the other info need it to pick up the car. On October 5th the shuttle of the car supplier Del Paso took me from the airport (arrivals) to their office outside the airport. At Del Paso's office I gave all the information to pick up the car to the desk lady Lynda. Lynda in the meantime left the desk 2 or 3 times and then went back to the desk to tell me that she couldn't give me the car because my name was blocked in their computer. I asked Lynda what she meant. I asked for more information and she told me that she had no information and that unfortunately she could not give me the car if my name was blocked on the computer. At the 4pm while I was in the offices of Del Paso I immediately called Holiday autos I spoke to Francisco who told me that he could not solve the problem with the supplier because if they did not want to give me the car Francisco (Holiday autos) could not do anything about it. I asked if he could book me another car with another supplier and he told me that the best price was 300 euros. Then he told me that if I didn't want to pay 300 euros for another car I would have to email holiday Auto explaining the problem. I was stuck in the offices of Del Paso without a car and without a cheap solution to go to my destination and start my holidays. Practically my holidays were destroyed because I was without a car. In the Costa del Sol it is essential to move from one destination to another without a car. Buses are not many and there are no other means of transport. For this reason always with Holiday autos I always booked a car every time I visited this part of Spain. Francisco Holiday autos just told me that there was no other solution sent me my booking again by email! Clearly with my booking I couldn't do anything about it so I contacted Holiday autos again at 16:45 pm of 05/10/2019 and I spoke to Emerson who instead sent me a link where I could start filling my complaint. I left Del Paso's offices around 5:30 pm and set off in a taxi to my destination and spent 65 euros of taxis. On the day 07 October 2019 I started to fill my online complaint through the link that holiday autos sent me but unfortunately I could not finish the procedure online because it gave me a system error message. I called Holiday autos again and spoke at 15:26 on 07/10/2019 with Sohen. Sohen has taken my complaint through the phone. Now I am without a car Holiday autos still has not refunded me the amount i paid but especially my whole holiday was ruined because I do not know how to move and how to get to the places I had planned to visit. I had to cancel appointments etc etc.

I booked a car through this company for hiring from a company to collect a car from Milan Airport. The car company wasn't at the airport as described but more than 5 miles away. I had to book an additional car with a company that was at the airport. When claiming my money back or registering a complaint for initial booking. They clearly have no interest or response to dealing with the complaint. As they have just sent me a email for 2 months to say they are looking in to it. There are no telephone numbers to call. They quickly took the company I originally booked with off their search engine. If you have a problem your on your own!
