“Holiday autos sent me to Goldcar who stole £165 off me. When I asked them to help they referred me to the people who stole the money. I thought I had a contract with holiday Autos but they say no. So why use a company that will happily book you a car with a company who will steal off you when they can’t or won’t help you. Disgraceful”

“Charged ‘Senior Driver’ fee that was not mentioned when car was booked. Car would not be released at collection point without paying this. Repeated emails to Holiday Autos have gone unanswered so will take the matter up with my credit card company. I will never use this company again and will make sure others know of my bad experience. I should have read the other appalling reviews before booking through this lot. Be warned!!!!”

“Holiday Autos Blackmail. Hired a car today for collection Milan Linate. 6 minutes after the due time for collection received email saying they could not fulfil the hire. However when contacted the booking team told if I was willing to pay another 50% increasing the car hire to over £900 I could have the car.”

“This company are scam artists. Booked a car in Barcelona arrived early at the car hire counter and was told to come back later because it wasn’t 10:30. So we took a cab to town for an appointment we had to make and returned for our fully paid car 7.5 hours later. No car, the “reservation “ had been cancelled by Holliday Autos because we were more than 6 hours from the appointment time. Nothing in their literature says you have to be there within 6 hours, and even do the car was PAID for. Man on phone didn’t know if they would refund our money. Well in most countries that would be considered outright THEFT. They cancelled our car with no written policy and keep our money depriving us of the service we PAID FOR. Booking was £167. Car company quoted €660 since Holliday Autos had cancelled our car for the same car and amount of time. We took the bus to Barcelona. Complete scam artists avoid these clowns.”

“I booked and paid by Debit card for car Hire in Tangier Morocco with Holiday Autos £101.03 on the 13 th August 2018. Went to collect car, told I hadn't booked one. Showed the documents Holiday Autos had sent to me. Man phones his boss, No Car, man sends Photos of my rental agreement To his boss, no car and they don't have any cars. When I said I had paid for a car, I was asked to get out of the premises Very rudely, and told to cancel my payment. You can't cancel a payment, once it's been made with a debit card as the money has already gone from your account. Here we are nearly 1 year later and I still haven't got my money back from Holiday Autos. Do Not use Holiday Autos, it's much easier to just go into a car rental company and hire a car, without these Charlatans taking a cut, or taking all your money, for nothing.”

“They managed to ruin our holiday before we even left the airport. Wasted so much money on this company. Paid for a car which we we weren't allowed to have due to a minor issue which could have been resolved if they actually operated 24 hours like they claim they do. It was 7pm, we phoned for at least an hour from Greece but no answer. The website was down too - couldn't access from Greece so there was absolutely nothing we could do except for spend an obscene amount on Taxis for the duration of our trip. To top it off - the staff we spoke to once back in England were beyond rude. Id advise to think again if your considering using Holiday autos”

“Can’t believe I didn’t check out these reviews before I booked as I could have saved myself a LOT of grief and cost! Booked a rental car for Zakynthos, Greece and when we arrived to collect the car we were told the booking was cancelled- they call it a No Show. We were only 1 hour and 15 minutes later than the time I’d booked but actually even if you arrive 1 minute after the collection time then they close the booking and mark it as a No Show. The local car provider are totally in on this, they told us that we would be refunded for our deposit and we’d get an email from Holiday Autos within 24 hours confirming everything. We never received the email and or a refund. I am taking this up with my credit card company. The local provider, Add Car, then offered us another car which cost double what I’d booked originally. Rather than waste any more of our precious holiday time, we rented the car from them, sucking up the additional cost on the understanding that we’d at least get our deposit refunded. They then told us we had to make sure the car was totally clean, inside and out when we returned it! No sand at all, we were warned! We were on a beach holiday! Who ever heard of having to valet a rental car. Anyway we’ve learned our lesson- I hope this helps spread the word about the sly tactics and totally inflexible, hidden policy’s that these 2 companies employ. Do not use!!!”

“Haven't received refund for sameday cancelation. I got an email saying it would be in my account after 10 business days but of course I haven't been reimbursed. Can't get on to their 'live 24 hr customer help' messenger so I emailed them. Got an email from a bot instantly saying "we will reply in 48 hours" then another 2 minutes after saying they "will respond in 72hours". It's not looking good...”

“I booked through Holiday Autos for a two-week rental from Europcar at London Heathrow, prepaying $236.31 which was supposed to cover everything. When I arrived to collect the car, Europcar attempted to extort me for over $400 extra, in "mandatory insurance fees." I refused to pay the extra amount, and they refused to rent me the car, even though I have since established that the insurance was indeed covered by the Holiday Autos contract. After a lengthy appeals process to Holiday Autos, they proposed a partial refund of $101.36. I call that a theft of $134.95.”

“If I could give a zero star review, I would. They are very sneaky. I made the mistake of paying up front and when I got to Madrid to pick up my car, I was not able to do so because I did not have an international drivers license—my US license would not do. So I asked for a refund and Holidayautos declined my request. I’m now disputing the charges. Be ware of many misleading advertisements associated with this company.”

“This a front for an operator called "Car Crawler" which appears to operate out of the Philippines. Had a very bad experience at Glasgow airport where their hidden T's and C's indicated the need to present a posted utility bill as evidence of address (despite passport, driving licence, etc). I do not get posted utility bills, handling them all on line, so I presented a print-out. Not acceptable, no car, and no refund, despite an hour on the phone (45 minutes on hold) to the Philippine call centre. Had to rent again from the local operator, more than doubling the cost. DO NOT USE These people.”

“VORISCHT, ABZOCKE! Als mir klar wurde, dass ich meine Kreditkarte doch vergessen habe, hat mir die Firma Europcar gesagt, dass ich mich an Holiday Autos wenden soll, um mein Geld wieder zu kriegen. Wochen später bekam ich eine Antwort in der es ganz genau stand, dass ich mein Geld nicht zurückbekomme, ohne jeglicher Begründung. Vertraut Ihr dieser "Firma" nicht! Nie wieder!”

“Booked a Compact (Ford Focus or similar) or Larger (Mystery Car) at Thrifty Rental at Seattle Airport (SeaTac). Arriving late at night after a 15 hours flight, was told by the Thrifty Agent that the allocated car was a Ford Fiesta. Not a "larger car". Not a Compact Car (Ford Focus size), but a subcompact car (a Fiesta is smaller than a Focus). The Agent stated that the cars parked in the Compact Zone must all be Compact because they are parked there. (Actually there was no subcompact zone, all the small cars were in the same zone.) Holiday Autos response was an apology but that it was an issue with Thrifty and left it at that. Warning to anyone hiring via Holiday Autos and Thrifty that you'll probably get allocated a car one size smaller than you think you've hired!!!”

“These charlatans refused to give me a full refund for a rental cancellation despite on their website stating that if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance that is exactly what you are entitled to. Despite what it says on their website when you speak to them they claim that it has to be longer than 48 hours notice! Having said that I gave them over 48 hours notice and I STILL didnt get a full refund!! I would STRONGLY advise not using this company as they are not honourable and not to be trusted!”

“This company would gladly see your holiday ruined before its begun. All about policy and t & c's. No good faith with customers who've had difficulty with bookings & no refunds when you haven't even used the bookings! Disappointing service with next to no help! Avoid at all costs.”

“tuvimos una muy mala experiencia con HOLIDAY AUTOS, no se los recomiendo para nada, si tienen algún tipo de dificultad en el momento de retirar el carro, nadie les da respuesta y la agencia con la que ellos direccionan simplemente se lavan las manos y no te dan una solución, han pasado ya mas de 20 días y no nos dan respuesta simplemente que sigamos esperando a que la rentadora en este caso fue la empresa CENTAURO con la que nos dirigieron les contesten. Ellos por si solos no saben gestionar dependen de tercerizadores y todo el mundo se lava las manos.”
