“I had Hotters boots that were very comfortable and loved the style. Then time to take to cobbler. He was not happy to do that and advised I used more experienced cobbler, who told me they will disintegrate, not to waste my money, just throw them away. Will never buy Hotters again”

“Purchased a pair of loafers in October, which were late in arriving (over two weeks) and on arrival were disappointingly hard leather and stitching. I need soft leather because of arthritis and I thought Hotter were more expensive because of the quality and comfort. I returned them but was charged £4.50 for delivery, and £2.99 for the return. If you can afford to lose that much for the privilege of trying on shoes, then it won’t affect your bank balance. For me, it was a defining moment when I realised that they are the only company I have ever purchased from that take money from you both ways, and I am a daily online shopper. So avoid, avoid avoid or they will continue to practise bad customer service.”

“I have been purchasing Hotter shoes for many years and have had no problems. However, recently I purchased a pair of Jazz, which unfortunately did not fit. I returned them, after nearly 4 weeks no refund was forthcoming. I therefore contacted customer services, after a protracted time I was informed that no refund was due as the shoes had been worn and damaged. I assured them I had not worn them, other to try on in the house. They insisted so in effect they were accusing me of something I had not done. I sent an email FAO Complaints Manager, a week later no response and a further email sent. To date I am still awaiting a response. I find their attitude very unsatisfactory and will never buy another pair of shoes from them.”

“I have had to throw away 5 pairs of hotter shoes, I always kept different colour shoes to wear with different outfits so they were all worn occasionally . I wore a pair to my friends house and the soles disintegrated making a black mess over her carpet, on my return home I checked all of my shoes the bottoms had disintegrated on 5 pairs altogether I’m actually quite disgusted as thought I was paying for quality as hotter shoes are not cheap. Not a happy customer.”

“Disappointed Always bought shoes from Hotter, not anymore! Bought Hue GTX in extra wide. Thought they would be more robust. They are basically the same as Dew with a few tweaks. They are not extra wide but the same as the wide fit I've normally had. The tongue inside has a fold on either side is hard and digs into your feet. I don't feel I should have to get used to or have to manipulate something as others have done! Also bought Easy II sandals extra wide. Although the Velcro straps leave plenty of space for feet that swell the foot bed is too narrow, squishing toes together. My feet aren't particularly wide but I buy the extra wide so I can wear socks and have some wriggle room. No such luck. My old Hotter shoes wide fit are ok with socks! Such a shame that the quality and sizing is not as good as it was. Will they listen,I doubt it. You are unable to leave a review directly on their website as you have to wait for them to send you a link! Not likely to send a link to someone who has returned items!”

“Ordered the same shoes I bought 3 years ago and the quality is nothing like the old pair. The insole has no cushioning at all and is no even glued down. Size is inconsistent as well. The new pair appears to be a half size larger. Very disappointing! Will not order from them again.”

“Worst shoes ever! I purchased Hotter Leo women’s trainers last November (from Charles Clinkard) and they’re the worst shoes I ever had. I am having issues with my feet through the whole summer and then realised that the inner sole from these shoes is bumpy like I’ve never seen any shoes do before. I will never buy anything from Hotter again.”

“Bought my first pair of hotter shoes, very pleased with them, so comfortable and fitted like a glove, I’m a nurse and on my feet all day so comfortable is very important, 2 years later purchased same style and size, what a difference, shoes felt loose, I could feel the floor through them and generally uncomfortable and unsupportive, however I bought them, never again, waste of money, sore feet and aches legs again, had to buy some trainers.”

“I bought Chase II shoes in the UK and loved them. I ordered another casual shoe in the SAME size and they were too narrow for an Extra Wide. So there is an inconsistency in sizing that cost me $31.95 to return from the US. Never again. Sadly this company's service has gone down as they used to have a Hotter US site with more reasonable return rates.”

“I have bought a few hotter shoes , and always slipped into them , no problem, But Recently Bought 2 Pairs of Quake 11 in EEE wide fit , Just would like to know WhyFor a Wide fitting shoes , is the strap so short , You can barely Pull it across to fit well , can’t see how they work that out Wide feet but narrow , on that part of the foot ??? “The soles on the Tourist 11 sandals I bought from your company last month are dangerously slippy and therefore completely unsuitable for elderly people who are at high risk of slips trips and falls at the best of times. I am a very fit and mobile 75 year old and I always take personal responsibility for my safety when out walking. I wore my new sandals for the first time when I was on holiday last week and quickly discovered that the soles had no grip at all. They were very comfortable to wear in every other respect but I didn't feel at all confident in my ability to stay upright in them. I proceeded on my walk with great caution but unfortunately they caused me to slip and fall heavily sustaining injuries to my hip and shoulder. I spent the rest of my holiday in considerable pain hobbling around on 2 sticks. Your design team need to be aware of this problem and I feel I need to alert other vulnerable people about the danger of wearing your shoes. I spoke to a very pleasant and sympathetic person in your Customer Services department earlier today who said she would pass my comments on to you. However, in reply to my question she said I would be unlikely to have any acknowledgment of my complaint from your department unless I contacted you myself. I would really appreciate a reply to this email.”

“I ordered from www.us.hotter.com as my sister and mom both said the shoes are very comfortable. The Hotter Shoe Company, at least the company that sells in the United States is TERRIBLE. I will never order from this company again. I kept the shoes (I hope I am not sorry) and returned the slippers. When I placed my online order, the computer kicked me out so I was not sure they even received my order. I received no receipt or confirmation via email. My package did show up ten days later. No receipt in box, just a packing slip. I tried the slippers on and their heavy decorative thread rub the top of my foot, it was very uncomfortable. I returned the slippers by calling them and getting a return slip. They received my return on November 15th and still have not received my refund to my credit card. I can't get help when I call them and website says allow 14 days. In addition, I will have to pay return shipping for their defective product. What a horrible company. Stay away from them, there are many other companies that do have good shoes, Buy from those!!!”

“I received my order and was disappointed with the fit. I always wear a size 7. These shoes were so big I couldn’t keep them on my feet. Called customer service and that was an absolute waste of time. I can’t seem to figure out how to return them and will have to pay postage if I do figure it out. I’m pretty disappointed and disgusted with this company and I won’t be making another order. There is no customer service with this company.”

“When it was owned by Skemmerdale perfect fit. Still have 5 pts that I have. 2 years ago I purchased a pair of the shoe named sugar. The size felt a size larger. Knew something was amiss. After searching the company. Will never purchase again. Too bad those shoes were the best.”

“DONT BUY FROM THIS SHOP EVER! You have been warned! Worst customer service with a very rude manager! I bought a pair of sandals (£50-£60) for my mom, as a gift, from their shop in Cambridge a couple of months ago. Mind you, I was a tourist from Canada. The sandals fit her well so we naturally discarded the receipt. Fast forward to just 1.5 months later, the sandal’s leather layer started ripping off! So of course my mom took their worthless product back. But the manager refused to take them back, demanding that she see the receipt or she might think that these are STOLEN from some place else! Imagine!! The audacity of her! If this had happened in Canada, we would have gotten a full refund and the sales rep wouldn’t even have asked for a receipt. They treat their customers with a lot of respect. SO, DONT EVER GO TO THIS SHOP! HOTTER IS OVER RATED! THESE PEOPLE CANT EVEN RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS! THIS MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED FOR HER CONDESCENDING BEHAVIOUR!”

“I completed the on line purchase with a different delivery address as I’d be away when they were due to be delivered. Where I was staying had very poor internet and phone signal. I did not get the delivery email until several days later. The shoes were delivered to my home, not the alternative address. To make things worse Evri just put them on the doorstep. I have no idea if they are still there, although a friend is going to check. I phoned customer service who said I put my home address as delivery address. I have no way of proving I didn’t. No more Hotter for me! Advice screenshot your order page before sending it to Hotter.”
