Ikea US's customer service is (and I say this without hyperbole) the worst I've ever received. I've spent a total of 4 hours on hold over 5 phone calls. Some calls take over an hour (not an exaggeration) before you can even talk to a person. I've been promised call backs that never happened and refunds that never posted. The people you talk to seem competent, but the phone line is obviously VERY understaffed. And the complaints about really long hold times goes back over a decade. This is obviously a problem Ikea knows about, and just doesn't care.

We were shopping at IKEA Burbank this weekend trying to buy a sofa bed. we faced the issue with price mismatch btw actual price and the price showed in the system on it so the cashier Michael was so helpful and did his best to solve the issue along with his manager ( forgot her name) and honored the price for us. Michael was very kind, professional and very customer oriented. Thank you!

Where do I start? While shopping on a Friday night we were told that we could have delivery the following day, much to our surprise. Spent all of Saturday awaiting a shipment that never came. While waiting, realized that the salesperson had missed slats for the bed we bought. Customer service recommended a return trip to the store for the slats and to "keep my head in a good space." ??? Flew down to Ikea again and purchased slats for bed and blew home. Spent over an hour on phone with customer service to find out that because the order was place late on a Friday evening, the shipping company could not fulfill the order. Why then did the shipping company call me at 9:30 a.m. to confirm the delivery? Shipping company told rep they had "attempted to contact the customer." How can that be when neither my husband nor I got a call from them? Ikea rep said that the soonest delivery would be Thursday. Well aren't I a fool for believing that the beds would be delivered when promised and going ahead and getting rid of the existing beds so the assembly could take place? I tried to call the store and see if I could get the shipping any faster because my girls don't have beds right now, but I am dumped right back in the main Ikea number. There is no one I can talk to at the store, apparently. Hey Ikea, your assembly/delivery service is a hot (lying) mess! I have no idea if these beds will even show up on Thursday. Whatever happened to customer service? Why am I reduced to complaining online? The associate in the store was delighted to help me part with $1,000, but now there. is absolutely no one for me to speak with about this. $29 for delivery?? That's extraordinary! Except that it isn't.

I used the kitchen planning service and the guy who berated me for questioning him because he had years of experience and knew what he was doing got my order wrong. Had to wait on hold an hour with customer service to figure this out. I will now be driving 4 hours to get the part he forgot. I am not happy. The cabinets are hard to put together. Everything is delivered in parts. Try finding what you need in a hundred boxes. We have been working all day and still don’t have the cabinets installed. Won’t ever do this again. Wish I had ordered somewhere else.

IKEA package didn't contain enough screws! We purchased a day bed online which arrived today. Upon attempting to construct the bed I noticed that I couldn't even complete step one because they had sent the wrong amount of screws. In fact of of set 1 5 out of the 8 screws were in the wrong amount. When calling IKEA of their mistake they said they could send the missing screws in 2 weeks. 2 weeks!! That's long than the actual bed took!! As this is their mistake I would expect them to over night the missing screws to rectify their inconstance. I am utterly shocked and disgusted over their incompetence and lack of customer service. They charge £35 for delivery and they can't even deliver, it's a disgrace.

They didn't, confusing delivery messages that contradicted each other and a very rude customer service person when I rang up to confirm delivery slot. Our delivery arrived incorrectly and damaged.

Ikea, delivery, rubbish service. Waited in today for two sets of drawers. Delivery turned up with only one set, they told us the other was missing and they knew about it this morning, then told us we had to sort it out. Have rung and hopefully will get them Friday (although we needed them today). So, why, if they knew they were missing this morning did they not ring us then, and why as they know they are missing, have we got to ring and sort it all out , bloody nightmare. Have always paid and brought things home ourselves before, but was not able to this time, but I will never ever use the delivery service again. I was going to get a kitchen next but reading all the reviews online (I wish I had read them before) I have decided not to get it from Ikea I think Ikea need to look at a more efficient delivery service otherwise they will loose customers and sales.

Ikea just wasn't what it used to be. We made 3 return trips due to missing parts, bent screws and incomplete manuals. There appears to be a lack of precision and quality control.

Terrible service. Absolutely terrible. It has been an hour since I entered the checkout lane and still no end in sight for my products being ready for pick up. Didn’t know I was going to blow a whole afternoon waiting for my stuff. And this was supposed to be a getaway, fun weekend in Minneapolis☹️

Bought kitchen cupboards and they are an excellent product with a great price. Only problem is there customer service. There isn't a negative star rating but there should be.

Terrible experience overall with Ikea. Ordered a dresser the week of Thanksgiving, 1 month goes by and the day of delivery they say they are coming so I go wait at home. 3 hours later I call and ask where they are and the guy tells me I wasn't home so they skipped my delivery and someone will call within 2 days to reschedule a delivery. A week goes by and no one calls so I contact Ikea. Got the run around and was told they do not deal with the deliveries so contact the delivery company. Call the delivery company 6 times, and left multiple messages with no call back days later. Call Ikea again and a girl gives me another number to contact, then next person another number. No one is giving me answers on when I can receive my dresser, or where my dresser is. Hard enough to even get someone to answer the phone at this point.

I like IKEA, but I hate the propaganda with that woman running. You are sending a wrong message, it seems that is good to fraud in the stores.

Ordered 2 wardrobes, free standing mirror and a mattress from IKEA on Nov 30th, scheduled delivery for Dec 20th. Two days before delivery I was given my delivery slot. Come the day of delivery I waited patiently for the call that is mean to be made '1 hour before delivery'. This came 15 mins after the delivery slot and consisted of being grunted at and told he was '20 minutes away'. I even gave the driver instructions on where was best to park. 20 mins later, no delivery. I text the driver asking where he is. No reply. 10 more minutes pass and I ring the driver. Phone goes straight to voicemail. I then proceed to wait another hour and a half, before ringing him again. The call rings out with no answer. Finally I decided to check the website and apparently Mr delivery gorilla had decided he would take it upon himself to cancel my order. So I call customer service and speak to a very helpful lady who informed me that apparently their delivery driver decided that he couldn't drive down the road so had cancelled the order. Baring in mind at no point was I contacted and informed of this, in fact it seems like he turned his phone off to avoid having the conversation. Had he have bothered to do a crucial part of his job I'd of met him a street or two away and carried the boxes back myself. Re-delivery was scheduled for the 29th of December, 8:45 - 12:45... as I'm typing this it is 18:07 on that date and we've had no delivery, no phone call, no contact at all. All the while I've got no idea if my delivery is even in a lorry being shipped around because a huge company like IKEA apparently can't afford to invest in accurate order tracking. At the end of the day I can track a pizza order from when it goes in the oven, comes out the oven, is put in the car then I can GPS track it to my house. Why can I do that with takeaways and most other couriers but for some reason IKEA can't. Wish I'd never ordered from them, I'd advise anyone else to completely boycott them no matter how cheap and cheerful, spend a little extra and shop local at least you'll receive your order and help someone out rather than feeding this corporation of slack jawed mouth breathers.
