ABYSMAL!!!! One word - HORRIFIC!!!! My pregnant future daughter-in law sat on the floor of her unfurnished home for 8hrs awaiting her £900 delivery. Apparently the vehicle on its 50min route was stuck in congestion, nothing reported on traffic news. Delivery rearranged for today, driver ran out of minutes. By the way, they start their deliveries from the furthest distance, meaning they carry excess weight increasing fuel costs to customers. i spoke to a manager & explained i was now dealing with the complaint on behalf of my son & his fiancee as she is not in the position of knowledge that i am, having ran an haulage company & teaching retail management & customer service skills. I was informed on thursday, friday & today that i would receive a call on sunday. Today i have been told i am not allowed to because i am not the account holder??? They knew that & have agreed they have put my number to be called tomorrow. Would never shop here again! Edit

There is not a single thing, there are several issues with ikea and there furniture 1. The information provided with large furnitures is not enough 2. The furniture comes with parts those if you by mistake attached wrong place then you have to through it and buy the other expensive one. 3. Ikea furniture is one time assembly furniture, once you assembled then you can not dismantle. If you try then everything will be useless. So its a fully wastage of money. 4. The assembling all the parts need lots of patience, time and use of your full of the brain. 5. If you are not comfortable any technical assembling, then do not buy since you can not return the ikea stuff 6. Ikea delivery sucks. The illiterate people will deliver your stuff and if they count it wrong then its a nightmare to get those stuff from ikea using there customer service. 7. To get customer service, you have to wait on the phone not less than 30 min. They will force you indirectly to listen there all ikea stuff. 8. I spent $4000 on kitchen furniture and ended up to through about $2000 stuff in the garbage due to incomplete delivery, certain things were beyond my understanding because of complicated guide book was provided. I realized that better to pay extra $2000 to local shop and get everything what you like. If you are middle class and has a limited budget then dont buy anything from ikea otherwise you will also end up writing such review.

Ikea Smaklig induction hob. We wanted to replace a broken ceramic hob, a chip on edge of glass slowly spread across whole hob. We decided to investigate induction hobs and chose an Ikea Smaklig induction hob. We have had it for around 6 months and I have become a bore wanting to tell anyone how wonderful it is. Induction is quicker to heat up (compares well with electric kettle) and stops heating instantly when you switch off. Very much easier to clean than ceramic since hob doesn't heat up just gets warm from the saucepan. Induction hobs are expensive yet the Smaklig hob is relatively cheap causing some concern, but it has 5 year warranty and is made in Germany. The Smaklig hob has separate controls for each of the 4 heating areas unlike many more expensive hobs. Two disadvantages, you need induction compatible pans and you can become a bit of a bore - I am told this wears off after 12 months.

Ok world, you should know, and tell all your friends. We saved up for a mattress and at IKEA we asked about their mattress return policy. This is because my husbands back is not great on certain mattresses. The salesman led us to believe that if we purchased a mattress we could try it out for 90 days and return it if it didn't work. That was the extent of what he explained to us even though we asked him thorough questions. That is a standard policy for many mattress companies. After one night we both knew quickly that there was as no way our backs would adjust and so we returned the mattress. We were a little surprised when they would only give us a gift card but figured we could try another mattress and if that didn't work maybe buy a chair. We needed one anyway. Well after a couple nights that second mattress also put us both in pain. So we went to return it. Then and only then did customer service tell us that they won't return a second mattress and that their new policy (instated at some point in the 8 days we had exchanged the first mattress) would not allow any exchanges. I was frustrated that in no way does the store, return policy or salespeople make this clear. I even had an online chat with customer service and asked about the return policy on mattresses. The quote she gave me also did not make it clear that only the first mattress may be returned and only exchanged for a mattress that then cannot be returned. This is very different from the policies of most mattress suppliers which usually have some sort of 90 da trial offering a full refund. Any good mattress advisor will say to always and only go with a company that offers a trial and full refund. IKEA also was not clear and a bit deceptive in their way of stating their information. It came across that their policy is like most suppliers but it is not. I just thought if I can save anyone else making this mistake I would post this online as somehow, even after asking them personally, they managed to avoid answering fully until it was too late and then they simply refused. Personally I wouldn't buy a mattress from a company that does not offer a full refund in a 90 day trial as that is pretty standard now. I could understand if you are buying a mattress that you have already slept on and know you like, or a simple foam mattress for a child's room or guest room. But if you want a decent mattress that helps you sleep well and you want the freedom to trial it I wouldn't go with IKEA at all. Once you spend the money you are locked in and that money will never be returned to you.

They have the worst customer support, and their customer supports have no customer service in mine, but only try to push all the responsibilities to the customer to rip off the customers. I ordered the products (Coffee table, side table, etc.) from Canadian website, and they only gives me a single shipping window option from 9AM to 9PM. And they gave me shorter window only day before the delivery date. The shorten window, they gave me on previous day of delivery, was 3PM to 7PM which is unacceptable by my building manager. (My building manager doesn't allow the delivery after 4:30PM) So I called to request if they will be able to deliver before 4:30PM or I have to reschedule. IKEA said they will request it. On the delivery date, the delivery was not coming 3:45PM, so I called to make sure the delivery is on time. The customer support just threw out the number to the delivery company as they don't even care. I called the delivery company but the operator said he is going to call the driver and put me on hold over 10 minutes and never got back. As they never came till 4:30PM, I called IKEA to reschedule and they charged me another $49 for reschedule where I did nothing wrong but tried my best to delivery to work out. I called IKEA to get help or some waive as I thought this is little bit unfair to put every responsibility and charges on me. And their customer support is arguing that my request was just request not a promise, and tries to teach me about what the fairness is. From that time, I just gave up talking to them. It was just waste of time like talking to the wall. Their customer support is not there to help customer. They are only there to defend the company and push every responsibilities to the customer and rip off every part of you. The WORST Experience EVER and never buying anything from IKEA ever again!

Do NOT buy anything online for delivery. Waited in all morning, no driver arrived but we received a text stating our order had been delivered!! Phoned IKEA apparently Driver couldn't find address! IKEA has delivered to this address on numerous occasions so it sits on their sat nav system- just a lazy driver who couldn't be bothered on a Sunday to deliver. Heartbroken 4 years old no new bed etc., had arranged for her old cot bed to picked up this morning so no bed for 4 yrs old to sleep in tonight. IKEA could only deliver in 5 days time or maybe at a push tomorrow but IKEA couldn't definitely confirm that; I would have to wait a couple of hours for the next phone call....... We WILL NOT ever purchase from IKEA again. Off to buy a bed from John Lewis their customer service can never be faulted. They care about their customers.

WARNING! Do not shop at IKEA online! On the 28th July we made the terrible mistake of ordering a sofa bed from IKEA, due to its size we ordered the bed for delivery paying £35 on top of the cost of the sofa. The earliest delivery date was Sunday 6th August. We received confirmation via email and text of the delivery date. On Friday 4th August we received a text confirming the delivery window of between 1pm and 5pm. IKEA stated the delivery driver will call 1hour before they are due to arrive. Sunday 6th August came and the hours passed with no word from IKEA. At 16:24 I phoned IKEA Customer Services to find out what was happening. I was told by the agent that the delivery was delayed, no apology, no notification that there was a delay. The tracking link provided was totally useless (see picture). I waited and waited as the hours ticked by, at 19:28 I tried calling IKEA Customer Services again. After 3 attempts I got through to IKEA who informed me that the delivery had failed. IKEA would contact me soon to arrange delivery on another date and I would be refunded the £35 delivery charge. Monday came and went, no calls, texts or emails from IKEA, then Tuesday and Wednesday the same. Finally on Thursday at 11:48 I had a missed call from IKEA. I phoned them back and explained the situation again to another agent. The agent said she would put me through to the Delivery team. After about 7minutes on hold the call disconnected and I was put through to the survey that follows each call. I phoned back again. Finally I talked to a helpful customer service agent called Reena. I explained the situation and she apologised and said she would sort it out and phone me back, she also informed me that she would provide a £35 gift card compensation (which was the most she could offer) as well as the delivery charge refund and she would open a case at IKEA. She arranged delivery for Friday 11th August and she said I would receive the usual notifications of a delivery window etc. She also confirmed the drivers would deliver into the flat (I have seen from the numerous complaints about IKEA online that at least one driver refused to deliver upstairs despite IKEA stating they deliver to the room of your choice...). I thanked Reena the first person to apologise and to actually try to help and waited for the delivery confirmations. I received a confirmation text and email that the delivery would be on Friday but nothing about the window. I waited and waited and waited. At 20:16 I phoned IKEA Customer Services again to find out the delivery window. Apparently they didn't know it was being routed and I should phone back before 10pm, no apology. I phoned back at 21:26 and was informed the delivery window was 7am-11am, no idea why I hadn't been sent the text confirming this, no apology. On Friday 11th August, I left my phone on loud, woke up early and I got up for work, no phone calls so delivery wouldn't be at 7am. Unfortunately I wasn't well so didn't go to work but I stayed up for the delivery. I waited and waited, no calls, texts or emails. At 10:13 I phoned IKEA again, explained the situation again. This time I was told the order was being routed and would be delivered in the afternoon, no time slot, no apology and apparently the morning slot wasn't listed. I waited until 12:57 and phoned IKEA again. This time the agent stated it was scheduled for delivery in the morning but was delayed and would be delivered between 3pm-4pm and we would receive a call an hour before, again no apology. We waited, no phone call. At 15:02 we phoned again and were told the delivery would not be between 3pm-4pm and they would only ever provide a 4hour window. They said the Hub would contact us in 15-20mins. At 15:34 we phoned again and spoke to an agent who complained that we had been phoning a lot. She said the delivery would happen and the delivery team would phone later. We pointed out the situation and the reason for our persistence and anger. She said she could only apologise. Only the second customer service agent to offer any kind of apology. Eventually at 16:48 I received a call from a mobile number from a guy at IKEA. First he stated he would be delivering the item himself. Secondly he said he was at the warehouse looking at the boxes which were damaged. He asked if he could remove the items from the boxes, check them and deliver not in the cardboard. He said he would load them onto the van and arrive in 1hr-1hr30mins. I received a call at 18:03 to say he was outside. The driver and his co-driver, delivered the items to the flat and asked for the paperwork to be signed, again no apology. So finally 5 days late, lots of phone calls included probably at least an hour on hold and constantly providing the same information to each agent, lots of agents never the same agent twice, 2 drivers and a lot of stress later, the item was finally delivered. No mention of apologies, no mention of compensation or delivery charge refund which we will be following up. We will be submitting a complaint to IKEA with all the details. Laughably we received a delivery survey via text, you can imagine our response to that. My advice to anyone considering ordering anything from IKEA online for delivery. DON'T!!! If you check online you will see this isn't a new problem, there are probably hundreds of complaints going back years. IKEA do not provide customer service, they don't care, the delivery has been nothing but a huge amount of stress. As I said if you take nothing else away from this: Do not buy from IKEA online! It is not worth it. It would be better to pay more or go to a shop and collect it but do not use IKEA online with delivery.

I gave IKEA one star because there was nothing lower in the scale. Placed an order online and the delivery was incomplete, one part was broken on arrival. The delivery guy told me he was going to report to IKEA the missing item and advised me to call to let them know. He also said they will send it to you in 72 hours. I started calling IKEA 1888 number on Saturday -almost 3 weeks ago now- and first attempt I was waiting for a representative 18 minutes. I hanged up because I had other things to do; called later 3 more times and I was on hold for 36 min and later 25 minutes. I decided to call Monday. On Monday I started my torture early in the morning. I called 4 times while at work, the waiting times to talk to a person was 26, 28, 25 and 48 minutes each time. I spoke with Kiona and Jessica. I requested to speak with supervisor but the agents refused to transfer me to a supervisor stating that it was going to take probably another 40 minutes. However, the could not help me because it was the "online department" and they kept transfer me to another extension that does not work. In the afternoon I was able to tap to a supervisor, Sara, and she reassured me that she was sending me the parts and that within 72 hours I was receiving an email from Fedex one the items were shipped. It has been more than 10 days not, no email, no items, and I am back to square one where I am calling like crazy and they do not answer the phone. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING PLEASE

Never, ever order anything online from Ikea. The expensive farm house sink came broken. Then it took a month to get it picked up (one excuse after another from Ikea), then it has taken two months to get reimbursed for the sink - and STILL haven't been reimbursed. I have spent about 4 hours on hold trying to talk to this company and get it resolved. Still waiting...

Well just recently I've bought with my wife a brand new kitchen to our new flat. The service was amazing, and we have used the online configurator with IKEAS assistance and banking services. It was really great to have it all in one bundle the kitchen will be assembled this week and we are thrilled to get there. What is really great is the quality of service especially the part where Ikeas co workers come over and measure everything before the purchase, I must admit that it was truly professional and saved us a lot of trouble!

We, too, ordered three pieces of furniture on May 12. After literally hours and days on hold, and reorders, and at least 4 supervisors, and at least 10 emails, and excuses and broken trucks and reorders and on an on and on, IKEA still has our money (more than $1,500 (3 months!) and we do not have our order. Looking over these reviews, I wonder if it might not be helpful if we joined together to bring charges against them?

A positive shopping experience. The store is a pleasure to walk around; the staff are helpful the goods are not over priced. I have only discovered Ikea in the last year and having heard rave reviews from all my friends, I have to say they're all true. Why pay thousands for wardrobe when you can one from Ikea that's equally as good quality and much cheaper. No brainier.
