“Last 3 times I have made purchases from JCPenny website, I have had to make returns and was not reimbursed the total amt of the return. First time(2 yrs ago) issue resolved after speaking with a supervisor. I had already had several conversations w/ cust service to no avail. 2nd time( this past summer), I again attempted to resolve via customer service. Finally filed dispute via PPal and they were able to get my refund credited back to me but a lot of time and trouble for me to get this resolved. 3rd time...placed 2 orders in Oct. Returned some items from each order and used JCPenney labels on return. One return order was credited back to me correctly, the other was never credited back. I have emails from Penneys that confirm they received the order and a f/u email that says "refund is on the way". This is from 11/7/23. Because that refund was never put back on credit card, I called cust service and was told it had been taken care of. It had not.
I am now again disputing via PPal and have finally been sent a check for some of, but not all of what I am owed. I do a lot of ordering on-line and have never had trouble with returns from any other merchant except Penneys. Due to these 3 back to back experiences I will never do business with Penneys again.”
“Pretty upset about the service received from this store. I purchased my little girl a pair of boots approximately 2 weeks ago and the shoe has popped loose near the toe. I contacted them via chat and was told I would have to take it to a store for return. I do not have this store locally. That is why I purchased online. Then she tells me it would also have to be in the store when exchanging and that I would have to have our boots in the original package. I'm sorry but I don't keep packaging after we open items. Who ever thought I would receive faulty products? I will never order from this store again and I have always loved JCP.”

“The Manager at Parks Mall Penney’s isn’t a very nice guy. He’s condescending and rude. If you don’t like your job then don’t work with people. He has his say and walks away. “I ordered Christmas presents for the guys in my family and they shipped all of them to an address I lived at 8 years ago! I called to ask what happened… the correct address is on my account, which they confirmed, but they still refused to resend my order. I have no idea why they would send it there because I ordered gifts to my new address last year and got them so it was definitely an error on their end. I’ve never experienced something like this. I closed my account and will never shop there again.”

I pull up check in.......... someone else pulled in went in and came back out. At 30 min I go in and look for someone to help me.

“I never like saying anything negative about a business. But Jcpenney return policies for online order is ridiculous in some ways. I used a temporary debit card issue by the bank to make 2 orders. By time I got my orders I had received my permanent card. When I went to store to do a refund I couldn't get money back simply because the card I used had been terminated by bank. Why couldn't the money be put on my permanent debit card or given cash back. My bank paid them cash, otherwise they would have not sent the packages. There is some good things about the store. The one I go to have wonderful worker. Those in top office should realize these are critical times for many. 2 Timothy 3:1-5. I paid cash. I should be able to get cash back. They wont missed my little business. It's just fact. Don't know if I could make such rules. Not saying I won't buy from them anymore. Just that I am disappointed. And know that's whether it's business or personal love and concern should be a iron clad symbol.”

jcPenny continues to say my refund will be any day now. Had to dispute the charge. It has been over 20 days since they received the return. Will never shop there again.”

“I recently visited the SouthPoint store and luckily met Marlene Hughes. I just found her name so my review is tardy. I got to the store late because I found out close to closing time that we were getting unexpected guests and needed lots of bedding, etc. She made what could have been a stressful experience better by staying late to help me get everything I needed for our guests Thank you Ms, Hughes, sorry for the delayed review. “I think their customer service is horrible. I changed my address online when I moved. I made an online order to be delivered to me and they sent it to my old address even though I updated my info. They told me it will automatically default to an old address whenever I order unless I change it for each order. Now I'm out a lot of $”

“I ordered 3 sets of draperies from their website. They sent me a confirmation email. After a couple of days I went to their website to check for a tracking number. My order was listed as BACKORDED. I called their 800 number and spoke with a man who tried to garble his name. I asked him to repeat his name but he didn’t want to. I asked why I wasn’t notified that my item was on back order. I would never have purchased them if I had known they were out of stock I asked him to cancel my order. He said he could not cancel the order. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She didn’t want to cancel the order. After much back and forth she agreed to cancel the order but she said it would take between 8 and 10 days to credit my card with the amount for the draperies. Then she said that they just place a hold on my card for the amount. I couldn’t understand why they didn’t want to cancel the order for merchandise that they don’t have. Why even advertise items that you don’t have. She eventually hung up the phone on me as if I was wrong for requesting my money back and the order cancelled. I will never order from J CPenney again. False advertising and withholding funds is just wrong.”
“I went to exchange some sweaters the return and exchange line was over an hour Wait because there is one cashier available to do jcp.com returns and exchanges it's very hot in the store when you ask for managers assistant no one's coming to assist you. When you call customer service they direct you to call the store and I have been calling this store for over 3 hours and no one picks up. We need to do better in this community when it comes to these stores because they are slacking and they think we supposed to put up with this b******* with a lack of work ethics. Still waiting for an order that I placed over 4 hours ago for a pickup window of 2 hours just for them to tell me that the system says it's still processing it's still f****** processing because you're not able to get off this f****** line up here and go downstairs and pick up my s*** and bring it back upstairs to the JCP store. “I placed an online order that never left the warehouse, though it was provided a tracking number and labelled as "shipped". I called in, to ask about the order and I escalated to a supervisor, since the first representative wanted to recharge me, then provide standard shipping which I stated was unfair, since my items should've been here a week ago.
The supervisor, Verisha, was beyond unhelpful. Not only did Verisha seem to have an attitude, but for most of the call, Verisha delivered nothing but bad news. When I asked Verisha, for example, to close my account and cancel the order, Verisha responded "You can do both yourself, is there anything else?".
For a consumer who gave YOU their hard earned money, when YOU didn't fulfill YOUR end of the bargain by delivering the goods I paid for -- JCPenney has no shame in providing zero results, zero resolution and zero representatives AND "leads" who want to help.”
