I have had an Imogen sofa and chair in leather for about 8 years. I have always been disappointed with it because the leather on both seats and back is, and was from the start, rippled and creased, as if it is not properly filled. I changed the inners (at substantial cost) a couple of years ago, but no improvement. It does not resemble the lovely firm and smooth sofa that I was told had been on display for 10 years in the Manchester store. It is not attractive and I would not buy Multiyork again.

I've just replaced the covers on my sofas and they look great. Purchased the sofas new 10 years ago & now wanted a new look for my lounge. I also have Dining and cabinet furniture from Multiyork and really pleased with it all, always recommend to friends.

I ordered 2 York Sofas which morphed into Lavenhams since I wanted the York with Back Cushions. After parting with a lot of money and waiting some months my sofas arrived and whilst they looked ok, they are singularly the most uncomfortable sofas I have ever had the displeasure to sit on. I phoned to complain and they reviewed my sofas but no, nothing wrong with them from a manufacturing and quality perspective so they are not going to do anything else to resolve my issue which is that the sofas are throwing you forward and are very uncomfortable. I have had to resort the ombudsman which they are not even a member of, even though at the time of my complaint they had the audacity to refer to them on their complaints web page. I now hate these sofas with a passion and they are so uncomfortable I dont use them at all and have reverted to my old sofa. I would NEVER recommend MultiYork to anyone as what you sit on in the shop is not what is delivered to you. They changed part of the spec, again not what was in the shop or shown on the webpage and was told thats the design now. They are arrogant and dont listen to your issue. I told them the sofa was akin to a park bench and they recommended that I purchase a firmer cushion...........seriously, like its not uncomfrtable enough. None of my visitors want to sit on them. It is a nightmare. I only wanted what I ordered with the same comfort as experienced in store. You would have thought that was easy enough. DO NOT BUY anything from this company. There is absolutely no value for money and no one listens to your complaint. I will certainly never buy anything from them if they were the last place on earth.

Wish I'd read other reviews before walking into Multiyork. 6-8 weeks delivered has equated to 6 months! Had to wait in 3 times for delivery to arrive in batches. One chair arrived with rust mark on fabric - had to wait in again for this to be cleaned! One footstool rocks so much it has to be replaced. The final chair to arrive has a patterned fabric, on which I based room colour scheme but it is nothing like original fabric I saw in showroom or samples received. They have now washed their hands of it and I am left with the disappointment and in total 7k worse off. As others have said - service good until they take your money! My advice - avoid!

I received my Nevada corner sofa in May 2016. The sofa itself is very nice but the fabric is very poor quality (Harbour colour 39 slate) as after only 4 months it has faded so much that there is now a stripe along the arm (where the sofa arm cover has protected the underlying fabric from the sunlight). The slate has gone a greeny grey colour in the sunlight. I contacted the store and they sent a man from homeserve to look at it. I heard nothing so rang customer services 2 weeks later and they said his opinion was 'sunlight damage' and there was nothing they would do. I contacted the customer complaints manager and have now received a letter saying that Multiyork will take no further action as the cause of my complaint has not been attributed to manufacturing defects. I would expect this sort of fading after 5 -10 years - but after 4 months I think it is very poor -having spent £4000 on the sofa. I would not recommend Multiyork - I have been very disappointed with the quality of the fabric and the after sales customer care

Be aware! Don't buy patterned fabric with a 52% linen content. It's not that the fabric will fade in sunlight but will cause a neutral background colour of fabric to darken making it appear grubby. However the blue flower pattern was ok. Hence, there is a distinct line on 2 of my dining chairs where the chairs were tucked under the table with the top part and the side exposed to sunlight darkened. The other chairs were of different toning fabrics and do not contain linen and these are perfect! I was not advised of this on purchase otherwise would never have used this fabric. Customer Services not interested now I have to have 2 replacement covers made.

When we ordered our sofabed we told MultiYork it had to go up a very tight staircase. When they tried to deliver they could not get it up the stairs. The delivery guys told us that some sofas come in 2 parts so we went back to them and asked why they didn't offer this option when we told them it was tight. Originally they said that the sofa that comes apart costs an extra £100 which would have been fine. This story then changed to the sofa that comes apart would be an extra £500 in total - slightly different shape but same, cushions, same fabric etc. We asked them to justify the difference as the extra parts and labour are only £100. They came back and said they made a mistake and it was going to be an extra £749 at which point we told them to get lost. The next thing is that they won't cancel the order until extra money is paid on top of the deposit (over £300 already handed over). If you don't pay you get a bad credit rating so you are stuck. The Terms and Conditions do not state this anywhere. Its daylight robbery. Do not use MultiYork.

We bought an expensive reclining leather sofa - clearly made with cheap/faulty material, colour coming off ( one year old) - Multiyork say this is due to misuse, because our heads have touched it! It is reclining!!!

I am so surprised to see such negative comments about Multiyork which I now agree with myself. Same problems, saggy cushions, sofa looks old and Multiyork NOT prepared to do anything.

Purchased new set of covers for sofa and footstool. All fine when purchasing, completely different story on collection of covers. They were huge!!! I immediately got in touch with Multiyork customer services, explained the problem and was told to email my Newbury store where they were purchased from. I emailed and sent various pictures. After several emails and phone calls I was told it was our fault as we had not fitted them properly. I explained this was not our first set and we did know how to fit them and spent a great deal of time and effort trying to make them look half decent. I then asked for someone to come and fit them if it was our fault and was told this would cost me £90.00! I obviously refused and after further emails was told someone would come and check them which they did and told us they were indeed not right. I then had to make more phone calls to check what the next step was and was told they would do a refit and leave a replacement sofa. When I tried to arrange this I was told it would be approx six weeks as they had a large waiting list for a replacement sofa, not a great advert for multi york. By this time I was so stressed with it all I said we will go without a replacment just get it sorted. They collected it and several phone calls and three weeks later it is back with us. It is better than it was but to be honest it is still does not as Multiyork say "fit like a glove". I will never ever use this company again so much stress and worry through no fault of our own. At the end of the day the least they could have done was own up to the bad fit in the first instance which would have saved so much time and worry. Multi York just did not want know, they were unhelpful and defensive, and just seemed to hope that we would go away and stop disturbing them. The picture of sofa was one originally sent on the day we collected covers.

Nothing but problems since purchase. Build quality issues, fabric faded drastically, Staingard protection doesn't work at all, your are not permitted by the policy to attempt your own clean. Takes about six months for replacement fabric. If you like having a permanently stained, faded sofa of poor quality buy Multiyork.

Fabric stains with water despite purchasing a high grade fabric with protection. Staingard protection option useless except as a reason for Multyork to pass the blame and avoid taking responsibility for poor quality fabric. Appalling customer service. Avoid. Multiyork much lower quality than your average retail park furniture outlet.

Service---Incompetent. I don't want to bore you with all the details but the bureaucracy and procedures compete with the EU. Products---look good! Too many fingers in the pie of purchase and delivery.

We ordered a very expensive Lavenham sofa. On arrival we could not use it as our feet were three inches off the floor (I am 5 feet 6). We were told that we should have noticed this before ordering and overall, the company's response to our problem has been abysmal. Their own agents (Homeserve) visited and took pictures and agreed the sofa was not right (albeit made to spec). The company's response has been to offer to SELL to us replacement cushions at a cost of over £100. Although this is a 25 percent discount off listed price, it is clear that they wish to make a profit out of what is a serious design flaw. I would receommend that you do NOT buy from this company. Once they have got your cash, they suddenly become totally uninterested in problems

I bought the Burghley dining table and within a few days had issue with the wood turning white. Was told it must have been subjected to water damage. Waited 6 months for replacement only for that to be now doing the same. Told that I should expect it if I continuously wipe a table down with a damp cloth even though I said its wringed dry and I only wipe down after dinner and then dry with towel. It's a dining table surely it should withstand wiping down and what would happen if a drink spilled? It's not fit for purpose. They are trying to pass it off as my problem! Appalling customer services, I spent a fortune with them but they don't care. Have same problem as above with sofa too with bobbling of material and told it was 'normal'. Very fed up customer, would never buy from them again.

Well we started this in Dec 13 had sofas delivered June 14 as I have an heart attack at Easter made to pay for storage within weeks it was faulty- told new sofas would be made -didn't even come & see odd?- made appointment for delivery durning day came 7pm sat eve end Nov with only 1 sofa not 2 & no details to take faulty ones away, it didn't happen so following week sat asked for after 9am delivery came 7.45am and hole in fabric in 1 sofa plus about 10 other faults!! Had to have someone to come & check over them even more faults found so we had to have more sofas made (we went for different ones) We then found out that 1st set of sofas had a manufacturing fault thus why didn't come and check them out as they knew they had a fault but didn't tell us thus 2nd set weren't what we ordered as they changed design !!! 3rd set of sofas took months as even though we had afternoon in store in January they didn't put order in till late March - don't ask- came in the late summer of 2015 when son home from uni he found large hole in one of the cushions where cotton in sewing machine ran out thus top switched but not under , they sent a man out who sat on floor and so called stitched it by hand a think a 8 yr old could have done better so they said they would sent new cushion cover which they did but for wrong cushion!! Here we are in late April 2016 still waiting for cushion cover with no hole in it It has taken 2 1\2 years and still not got 2 complete sofas???????????? Also as we ordered spare cushion in white to go on new sofas they were not new and have not been replaced with the sofas thus we have old cushions on new sofa - a wasted nearly £200 Look some where else please it has been the must stressful items I have purchased ever and to be honest I don't even like the sofas we have - I just wish we could have our monies back, but we have no chance of that as they do not help one bit!!!!!

Fabric on sofa is `bobbling` after only 9 months. It has been inspected and deemed `normal` and, we are told, given time it will gradually dissipate. Our lovely new sofa looks as if it is 9 years old, not 9 months! Customer service has been appalling. We will never shop there again and would recommend you buy your furniture elsewhere - John Lewis and M&S are far superior for quality and customer service.

Delivered 2 chairs, and the back legs do not fit. 3 of the back legs have fixings for a different type of leg and one position, whilst having the correct fixing, was so badly alligned that the foot didn't fit. Having waiting months and spent over £2,000, I am very disappointed.
