“I had the same experience as 'anonymous' below. I'm now at the point where HSBC has stopped my card and has to reissue a new one to stop Opodo helping themselves!!”

“DO NOT sign up to Opodo free months subscription. You get an offered a flight discount if you trial their subscription and can cancel within the first month and not get charged their annual fee of £69.99. I cancelled it within 2 weeks. HSBC fraud team blocked my card saying this company was attempting an unauthorised withdrawal. Spoke to them again on line so have evidence of them confirming cancellation so my bank have lifted the security block. Today 9 days later, have noticed they have without permission withdrawn £69.99 from my account. Upon speaking to them I now have to wait 10-15 days for a refund. If I would have read these reviews I wouldn’t have booked with them and will be reporting it.”

“Scammer AVOID Terrible customer service. I booked a Ryanair flight through Opodo with an offer that if I pay £35+ Opodo prime membership then I will get priority boarding x10kg cabin bags for 2 passengers, so I took the offer straightaway. Then I tied to check my booking for both airlines online and I can see only London to Rome, Ryanair has the priority boarding x10kg cabin bags but not the Wizz airline tickets, so I call to your customer service on 8th of June and they informed me that the priority boarding x10kg cabin bags is only for Ryanair and if I want the priority boarding for Wizz I have to pay 90euro. I was trying to explain the situation to the manager (Divash Naskar or something can’t remember his name) but he wasn’t helpful at all, he said “WE ARE NOT GIVING ANY SERVICES WHICH YOU DONT PAY FOR IT” and after post booking and pay you can have option for Wizz air priority boarding, which you have to pay extra and we can’t do anything about it, you need to talk to the Air line directly. But my question is when I booked the tickets it was from OPODO not from the Airline website, and there is not any clear information give that priority boarding is not for the wizz air, and how do I know if it’s not on the page, the manager kind of tried to put blame on me. I will say it was totally miss guided about £35+ Opodo prime member, And I want the solution for this matter, because it’s not make any sense to going on holiday carries 2 cabin bags and after finish the holiday we throw the bags in to the bin and come back home empty hand. I still don’t know if I can solve this problem, JUST AVOID OPODO”

“Bought a Vietnam Airlines flight from Opodo - them charging a service fee - fine with that except that when the flight was cancelled - Opodo doesn't move a finger! Vietnam Airlines told me to seek refund from Opodo because they sold me the ticket - and Opodo? Chatting with their agent + chatbot + email , NO ANSWER NO SOLUTION NADA. scandalous! Following up of the flight cancellation from 7 April 2023 - now is 7 June 2023 - Opodo and Vietnam Airlines will playing Ping Pong with me - no-one takes the responsibility and of course - no refund in sight !! Emails are just ignored.”

“I booked a flight via Opodo , Ryanair to Dublin for the next day to attend a family funeral. They took my money, but I didn’t receive an email confirmation or anything from them & no one was answering phonelines. The flight was due to go out at 6am and I had no details or boarding cards I had to book another flight with Ryanair direct who sent me a confirmation & boarding cards immediately. I am still fighting for my £118 back through my bank. They are a total rip off.”

“Opodo laat je betalen voor de bagage, die je ook al hebt betaald bij de vliegmaatschappij (German Wings) Wil je een specificatie, dan klik je op een link, die niet werkt!! Geen telefonisch contact en/of email mogelijk. Via bemiddeling van Visa-card kreeg ik de bagagekosten terug! (waarvoor dank!)”

“Nightmare. Supposed to be going to Cologne July. Booked via Opodo flying Ryanair. Ryanair can’t validate online saying couldn’t find that booking. They say Opodo haven’t had permission to book with Ryanair. Opodo keep washing their hands of it saying I’ll be contacted in ‘48’ hours or ‘72’ hours. Then they never do. On my app it actually says ‘booking cancelled’ . They say they didn’t do that! Ryanair can’t id me on the phone or online. Opodo don’t want to know. The manager I complained to was unbelievably ineffective and didn’t care. No offer of compensation just ‘I apologise but’ I’ve wasted hours and hours on this and no idea whether I can fly or not!!!!”

“They should give an option for zero stars. This company are thieving robbers. They make it impossible to change a booking or get a refund. After constant phone calls and wasted time they say they cannot do anything for 48 hours then you have to call them back. They barely speak English and then tell you to wait another 48 hours. They also tell you to contact the airline direct to change flights. You do this to be told by the airline that you must change the ticket with Opodo as they took the booking. Constant run around. I then get email saying that I must call them so I spend ages doing this to be told one day before the flight that it is too late to make the changes. They just steal your money. Do not use them EVER.”

“I used Opodo for many years as a trusted travel operator and am saddened to report that whilst good at taking your payments they have really let me down in returning my money when flights are cancelled. It has now been 15 months since flights worth over £400 were cancelled and no money has been returned after constant requests and complaints. Opodo are blaming the flight operator but as I paid Opodo they are the ones responsible for retuning my money. No doubt I will be told again that it has been passed on to the relevant team to resolve but then will not hear anything or get my money returned.”

“I made an booking for flight and hotel package on the 12th april from opodo.com ... after paid the full amount i received an email saying that part of booking was confirmed(only hotel was confirm) ... so i called the customer service and tried to get the full refund as no point just confirm my hotel without the flight ... customer service is very polite and she said to me i can get my refund within 10 working days ... after few days i got my refund for the flight but the hotel still havent got it, so i called up to customer service again that was a guy and he said to me that will take another couple of day for the hotel refund .. i waited until 20th april, called up to customer service again a lady said to me it will take another 10 days to get the refund and today is 19may and i still havent received my refund yet .... waiting for the money to make another booking as time is very tight now i am thinking to go for holiday at the very beginning of june i did said to the customer service officer to put my case in urgent ...and now been waiting for mor than 30 days now... called them up 5 times ... they just kept saying 10 -15 days ... what a joke”

“Wrong went the fact you can not add baggage on opodo once you paid for flight. It took me 2 days searching. When i got to the airport and wanted to check in my baggage there were hundreds of people already waiting. Almost missed my flight. Even lady by the check in table did not recommended book flight on opodo. Very complicated and frustrating.”

“They will sneakily force a “free trial” and then charge you a non-refundable $88usd for their “premium” membership that gives you NO discounts from what you could get on any other site, not on the flight tickets or on the price for luggage. It is actually more expensive than any other site without any membership. DON’T DOWNLOAD IT’S A SCAM”

“Two time they stolen my money 2021 £750 and 2023 they charged extra money from my credit card, don’t trust this company please no one use this fake opoda and I will write bad review every where and don’t believe them after stolen money stupid opoda staff write me sorry to hear go to hell snakes , opoda staff like a snakes Don’t believe and trust them . “ueber angebliche Rueckerstattungen. Flug gebucht, Opodo nahm Geld, am check in dann kein gueltiges Flugticket. Keine Angabe von Gruenden fuer Stornierung. Tage verschwendet ohne Loesung oder Rueckerstattung. Dann finde ich bei Bank raus, heimlich Kreditkarteninfo von Flugbuchung kopiert (ich hatte meine Karte aus derem Konto gelaeuscht) und einfach ein Abo abgesetzt. Hatte keine gueltige Prime membership, auch nicht aus versehen gedrueckt. Bank meinte "opodo waere bei Ihnen bekannt" fuer solchen Betrug ...”
