About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Generally have good service from Outback, but my most recent experience was that a miss pick in the warehouse has seen me still waiting to receive my fire pit. A bit frustrating as I don’t think I will see it before Easter camping….

Product sent to the wrong address. Had to chase up myself with courier company . Finally got the product resent. Whole process was inconvenient. Not even a tracking number until I raised a complaint.

I placed an order 15th Jan whcih I realise is likely a busy time, but when I hadn't heard anything at all, not even a picking noticed, by 22nd I reached out via email. The response came on the 24th that my order had been dispatched. Unfortunately when it arrived, a week later, it was incorrect. I had ordered a dash mat and throttle controller, but I received floor mats. As soon as I identified the error I notified Outback and they were quick to reply, apparently the throttle controller was not in stock and I would need to send photos of the item received to process the return. At this stage it was nearly three weeks after my order and the first time I was made aware of any stock issues. I re-laid this to the support person who was very kind and helpful and acknowledged my frustration, so I do appreciate that. There was some back and forth getting the return sorted and I had to send a photo of the return post receipt before my items would be sent, when I sent the photo I enquired again regarding stock and was told it should arrive soon. The following day, still not having an ETA on the controller I called to request a refund which was accepted and processed within 5 days. Overall the experience was very frustrating and the communications around the original order were effectively non-existent, however the support staff I dealt with (Dakota) was pleasant and understanding and was able to process things quickly so I would consider that part a good experience. If it had been identified that the items I was ordering could be low in stock or there might be a delay it would have greatly improved my experience.

I ordered a trolling motor online - it was the best price I could find. Within a week I got a notification from the courier that the item was onboard for delivery. Unfortunately, I hadn't included a unit number with my shipping address. The courier was not able to sort that out and, through the notification link, advised me to contact their Customer Support staff. That's when the wheels fell off. It took four weeks to resolve a missing unit number but I now have the trolling motor and everything is sweet. I'm happy that Outback Equipment eventually made it happen. However, during those four weeks it was quite frustrating to only ever get "we're waiting to hear from the courier". So, the price was good, I got the item (just before I had to pull the pin) and OE made it happen. They could do better keeping their customers updated on delays, but overall it was OK. Thanks particuarly to Dakota for getting it sorted.

Purchased fridge vent shade, the rubber screw insert was not long enough,and also will not sit in position correctly

Product was supplied slightly damaged & no screws to install item to caravan. Told Outback about this & their response was "We do appreciate your feedback and will ensure we pass it on. Hello , by accident I ordered the same item twice, I’ve been waiting weeks to refund or use money for something else , I filled out form with problem and contact details and sent it in , I have photo to confirm form arrived, I’ve rang and spoken to customer service and told to wait, it’s been weeks and nothing? That’s all the feedback I have

I am happy with the product supplied being a non stick frypan. However, there was mixup with the order and 2 items were shipped. I detected the error the following day and advised company same day to cancel the second order. What is disappointing is that the 2nd order was not cancelled and I ended up paying for shipping twice. I was requested to send back one of the items for a refund but was required to pay return shipping (making it 3 rounds of shipping fees in total). At the very least the 2 items should have been sent as one order to save on shipping. Not good customer service.

I bought a camper trailer cover, this is the second time I have bought this item, it only lasts about 2 years before it falls apart, but it is a good price point. I intended to buy two, but a glitch and a lack of attention caused me to accidenty buy three. Outback Equipment has a policy that they don't refund errors, just provide a credit. With that attitude I won't shop there again so luckily the price point was really good and I am covered for the next 6 years.

Product is great. Post time not so great. No notification that there was a low stock problem until I emailed 2 wks after ordering and paying. 6 week wait for the MSA mirrors to get from Qld to Perth. Neede them before they arrived, to tow van for holidays.

Sales people at the warehouse were very helpful The lady that I spoke to on the phone earlier in the morning was not very helpful. Didn't know details of her job and was a little rude, in my opinion
