“Wish I never appointed these clowns. They were recommended by estate agent (probably because of kickbacks) and I've had nothing but knuckle dragging and drawn out back & forths. Took them a month after being appointed to even start work on the case. Taken another month to confirm my money is my own money and still asking for more evidence when they've been provided 6 months of statements. If I had seen these reviews beforehand, I would NEVER have used them and I wish I hadn't taken them on as more time drags by. Appalled by their service, lack of communication, failure to call back after leaving voice messages, email exchanges go on forever at a snails pace, really REALLY wish I'd gone elsewhere”
“If I could rate PPL 0 stars, I would. They are not my solicitors however they are my buyers and the delay tactics they are using are insane. Offer was accepted in Sept 2023 and we are still no further forward to a completion date because of PPL.
There is no chain on my end, the buyers can move into my house any day and are facing being made homeless due to the people buying their home selling via auction. They do not care about their clients in the slightest. Everything takes ages because they have to refer to their legal team for answers??? Why would they need a legal team if they are a competent solicitor..
Avoid at all costs and do your research and shop around, local firms are sometimes more expensive however you get what you pay for and all you're paying for with PPL is a headache and unnecessary stress.”
“Don't use them! I send emails and no answers, they just ignore them. I phone and speak to people and they never follow up on phone calls, if I leave messages they never answer. Phoned today about my completion date, had a rant and told them how hopeless they are! Actually got a call back within half an hour, telling me might not be the date I thought it would be even after telling them over 2 and a half weeks ago of the date I wanted to move. If I'd read the reviews on here I would never have chosen them. Please avoid!”
“If I could give 0 stars I would. Whilst personally not using them, the buyer at the start of our chain is. We were ready to exchange at the beginning of December as were our direct buyers. This was then delayed by the start of the chain/PPL. The next aim was to exchange & complete by mid Jan. This still has NOT happened due to this incompetent solicitor. constantly advising things are outstanding and/or Lying about what is outstanding. Dishonest & purposefully delaying a sale. Supposed to have exchanged Friday 2nd ready to complete the 9th Feb. Exchange missed as had not advised buyer of bank details for deposit. Supposed to exchange today but they have advised they’re now waiting for the bank to confirm if they can release funds. As said before INCOMPETENT. AVOID AVOID AVOID.”
“My experience with PPL has been an utter disaster. Firstly my original solicitor left without giving me any prior warning. When my case was initially opened in July 2023, I was advised that completion would take 16 weeks... 30 weeks later, I am still no closer to completion. The lack of communication between PPL and myself and PPL and the sellers solicitors is absolutely shocking. I have sent multiple emails sharing my concerns, but they do not seem to care in the slightest. It is impossible to get through to my solicitor (who seems to constantly be ill or on annual leave) and when I eventually manage to get through to a member of the team, they are rude and lack customer service skills. I have been promised multiple call backs which I have never received. My solicitor told me that they had not received my mortgage deed but had received a copy of my transfer, when I told them that they had both been sent in the same envelope, they suddenly managed to find it. They are completely unprofessional and incompetent.
PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.”
“AVOID. Appalling service from start to finish. Our first solicitor disappeared without a word, and our replacement to his credit, is actually ok. However, after 20 weeks of messing around and dreadful services from the seller’s solicitor (also PPL) we were told that last Monday that she (finally) had all the paperwork needed. To be then told Wednesday pm that there were multiple things missing. This was the week we were supposed to be exchanging contracts and completing but no. We’ve ended up breaking the chain so our buyers can move in as it’s been pushed back about four times already and it’s not fair. November and December have come and gone and there’s still no end in sight. A whole week later and we’re even further away. I’ve never known a more incompetent company and whenever we’ve asked to speak to a manager, we’ve been told there isn’t one? We’re at a loss. Even with our solicitor and the sales progressor chasing it up. Unbelievable. If you actually want to move home in a relatively reasonable amount of time-use anyone but these jokers. We’re now on a deadline of having to be out of my rental. We’ve spent weeks wishing we’d read these reviews before agreeing to use them. Absolutely gutted.”
“Please don’t use this company!!
No communication whatsoever. You will have to do all of your own research, reading volumes of legal paperwork posted on an online portal with no explanation of what is going on. I realised early on that I was a Friday in tray as that was the only day I could get my call answered.
Months down the line and a bill increase of 1.2k since original quote I have still not exchanged although have been promised for the past 5 weeks. I have no kitchen appliances now, no bedroom furniture ( my purchase is all integrated so needed to get rid of mine), Christmas was a write off and I am a broken woman.
Don’t use them!”
“The buyers of our property used PPL upon recommendations from their estate agent. As previously stated they continuously lost paperwork, delayed the whole process to such a degree that the buyer of our property lost the sale of his, meaning he had to find another buyer. They would not contact our solicitor, so I emailed ppl myself only to, eventually, receive a very unhelpful abusive reply. I am in the process now of selling another property with strict instructions to the estate agent to refuse any offers from anyone using PPL or any members of their group.”
“Absolutely Shameful! Non - communicative, when our solicitor could finally reach them nothing but lies, informed by me the buyer that there was a freehold management company involved that id spotted on first viewing, they did nothing with it for 5 months, told lies that they'd requested freehold management packs when they hadn't (I was in touch with the management company) next they said they paid them, they didn't, they had paid some other uninvolved company god knows where, i only found out what id be paying a week before completion, obviously it was done with intent knowing how much id already spent both monetary and time. 6 months to complete on an empty house without a chain, Lied on completion day saying they couldn't complete as couldn't get hold of the seller, when the truth came out the next day that it was because they hadn't filed for apportioned service charges, so that was another cost i incurred last minute, then thinking i was finally done, another phone call for another service credit i have to pay upfront as seller cant get it back. ON THE LAST MOMENT. We should have moved in the summer, giving the kids a fresh school year and an easier transition, this has been nothing but mental torture and forcing a stressful Xmas move with everything else you've done against us on top. My solicitor should not be constantly apologising on your behalf. Absolutely despicable and I'll be sending all my evidence to both the Ombudsman and the SRA. We aren't even excited about our first property, you stole that from us, the only happiness in this situation is no longer dealing with this abuse.”
“Appalling, incompetent, non communicative, slow, won’t talk to other solicitors, refuse to discuss dates, entering our 6th month with no end in sight, just excuses and lies.”
“If it was possible to give negative stars I would. Our initial lawyer left the company with no notice. Her replacement was more knowledgeable but so unbelievably rude that in the end I couldn't speak to her because she made me so angry. Three months post completion we are being chased by our management company because PPL haven't filed the paperwork with them or paid the fees to confirm that we are the new owners. If I hadn't chased the management company to see why they hadn't contacted us we'd be none the wiser. To add insult to injury we are being asked for more money as they did their sums wrong on our completion statement.”
“Finally Done - 13 months later
Observations:
They lost important paper work 3x - even though I paid for tracked delivery.
Was charged over £600 more than initial quotes received
Nearly lost the property since my case wasn't a priority
Now being asked to pay an extra £180 as they made a mistake on my last invoice and refused to accept a payment plan.
Use this company at your own peril !!!!!”
“Thankfully not our own solicitor, but they are the solicitor of our buyer. Don't be fooled by the number of 5* ratings they are useless and incompetent 😡”
“I'm struggling to call myself a "customer" because I technically wasn't. I was onboarded as a customer by premier property WITHOUT consent, WITHOUT signing anything. This started when a firm we were hiring to manage the estate of my deceased father mistakenly asked premier to act as conveyancers (thinking they had power of attorney -they didnt)
PPL without any due diligence started work on the property on our behalf again without me signing anything through sending contracts and liaising with the buyers solicitor. They then lied when I found this out stating we had just been referred to them. Luckily I had contacted the other party's involved prior so left them with no leg to stand on. I'm no legal expert but to legally represent 2 executors without any signed permission amounts to fraud. There is also the issue of data protection. Complaint has been made, waiting for a response as well as compensation for the damage caused.”
“Our experience with My Home Move Conveyancing (Premier Property Lawyers), was nothing short of a disaster. The level of service we received was abysmal in every sense of the word.
Communication was consistently poor, leaving us feeling frustrated and uninformed throughout the process. It's baffling that it took nearly 10 months to complete the purchase of our first home, especially considering there was no chain involved.
To make matters worse, we found ourselves having to pick up the slack in terms of Conveyancing work. This was a clear indication that the staff and Conveyancers were ill-equipped to handle the purchase of our first home.
The overall customer service was equally disappointing, with rude and unhelpful staff members exacerbating an already frustrating situation. It was disheartening to witness the lack of professionalism displayed by this firm.
Adding insult to injury, they tacked on additional fees throughout the process that were not initially included in our quote. As a supposed gesture of goodwill to avoid potential complaints or legal proceedings, they decided to waive £400 from our final fee. While we appreciate the gesture, it in no way makes up for the overall poor experience we endured and was merely the amount of the additional costs added to our bill.
Even the other side's solicitors couldn't help but express their disbelief at the state of service provided by My Home Move Conveyancing. This experience has left us deeply dissatisfied and with a sour taste in our mouths. We would strongly caution anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for a more competent and reliable Conveyancing firm.”
“Gross negligence, Can’t give zero star. This company has caused me a huge loss of money and a legal battle. They don’t have enough knowledge or understanding to get the job done. Unfortunately they actually can’t complete our purchase and have told us straight that they won’t deal with it anymore.”
“My conveyancer at ppl was good but my buyers solicitor at ppl was incompetent and did not seem to care how slowly they progressed or how much inconvenience they caused by having to submit documents twice. They seemed to have very little interest in the process. I would not recommend ppl to deal with your case.”
“Don't know if all the conveyancers in this outfit are as similar but on my experience, don't go near!
It felt like our case was being given only superficial attention. As an example, Enquiries were sent to the managing agent but were not chased in two and half weeks, possibly because my conveyancer went on holiday; a fact that only came to light when I insisted on speaking to the group supervisor. I had to get involved and expedite it myself. A more serious example of the appalling service we received was the following: The purchaser's solicitor informed my conveyancer by email, early in the process that there was a defect in the lease deed of variation. This was overlooked by my conveyancer for six weeks only to be picked up days before exchange of contracts. Discussions on the phone (on a Thursday afternoon) made it clear that this could be the cause of a major delay. Emails were sent to Land Registry to see if it could be rectified, and also to the purchaser's solicitor to see if the defect could be accepted. This was very stressful and I would have hoped to be kept informed of developments. As it happened, I was not contacted at all and finally called on the following Wednesday to complain to the conveyancer’s manager. Actually, I was fortunate in that the Purchaser’s solicitor had copied the agent in on their email reply (which they had sent to the conveyancer the very next morning) which said they were willing to accept the defect. The agent thankfully forwarded it to me, but if they hadn’t, I would have been left to stew for the entire weekend and days afterwards wondering if the sale was going to be able to proceed.
ID checks which had apparently been accepted earlier in the process were suddenly found to be lacking, again a day or so before exchange. This resulted in me having to spend hours on the phone whilst away on holiday, trying to organise documents to be sent.
I could mention other lapses but there is no point. I find it difficult to understand how a case can be given such scant attention throughout, unless the conveyancer is dealing with a huge number of cases concurrently, meaning that each gets say 15 minutes a week.
I have been through the conveyancing process many times and this has been the absolute worst and most stressful without doubt.”
