If like us you are hoping to save money on the sale of your property, don't waste your time with Purple Bricks. We signed up for their service and took the additional unlimited accompanied viewing service. Our property was listed for approximately 6 months before we were advised to take a marketing break. In that time we had 4 viewings, 2 of which the agent failed to attend. (The charge for the viewing service was refunded following our complaint) No further contact or advise about relisting the property was received from Purple Bricks and when I contacted them I was informed that our agent no longer worked for them. Yet we had not been contacted by anyone to introduce themselves as our new agent. It would appear that Purple Bricks sit back and wait for their fee to be due and do nothing to actively promote the sale of your property. I'm really disappointed with poor quality service we received and as a result have now gone with a more traditional estate agent which will mean more fees when we sell. So much for saving money :(

We instructed purlple bricks too market our property from start total lack of correspondence our local agent never returned our calls . We paid them £800 after the allotted time still no sale no correspondence. We then marketed our property with a proper estate agent. This agent was in contact every week in the meantime our property was still live with purple bricks. The other agent sent multiple viewings whilst purple bricks sent 2!in 24 months. One viewer said they were told by purple bricks our property was sold !!! . I would recommend pay commission to someone who’s employees know what they are doing and have interest in their job

Employed PB to sell a flat just outside London, thinking the location would mean it would sell quickly. The agent had a good pitch and I choose the option for them to show the property (vacant property) and deferred the payment by using their solicitors, BIG mistake. The agent that shows buyers around had no knowledge of the property, had not asked me any questions and (I attended the first 2 viewing) let on that she was still studying and so not fully qualified. After 2 relatively quick viewing an offer was made and accepted but the buyer subsequently pulled out without a reason. Since then there have been a couple of viewings and about 15 booked but cancelled viewing.....a more distrusting person might assume these were PB fabrications. In order to sell the property they asked if taking it to auction might be an option. But they wanted to start with a 20% price reduction. As other reviewers have stated, PB are an internet portal to advertise your property, they don’t actively sell your home. They don’t have lists of people looking for an x bedroom property in a particular area. I eventually employed another local estate agent and the property was quickly sold. However I was stilling using PB solicitor (a lot of info already received from first aborted sale). It took constant calls and emails to them and the freeholder by me to ensure the sale was processed. PB are only interested in you signing up with them, after which they have you money, either immediately or after 8 months. There is no incentive for them to sell your property. Unless you are absolutely sure the property will sell AVOID.

PURPLE BRICKS DO NOT ACTIVELY SELL YOUR HOME!!! I have to start by saying that our agent seemed like a nice guy, I felt he was just working for the wrong company, although he probably can't sleep at night knowing what said company does. Purple bricks do nothing to sell your property, no emails, advertising or publicity except on moving sites so after a few weeks your property is lost in rightmove graveyard of houses. I felt that to purple bricks we were simply a 9 month investment, they are literally counting down the days until you give them their unearned money, as sold or not they are getting your money either way. Regal sold ours yet I'm paying purple bricks more than them for doing absolutely nothing! They will even only show people round if you pay more! They have then had the cheek to inform me they'll be taking their money via email before our sale is finalised (a sale that they have had no part of just to put the boot in, I'm sure it will go in their rating as a sale tho 😉👍) and we don't have that cash on the hip, fuming doesn't cut it. I asked to be relieved from my contract before our 2 week trial was up, they said no, as I didn't realise that agreeing for their advert to go live was actually wavering this right to do so. Exactly how you're meant to see it perform to judge for your trial is beyond me. The online help person was just pure rude and repetitive, they had no excuse for the companies incompetence. I have to pay my £900 but hopefully I can save a few people their time and money by them reading this. Absolute rude, cheeky, unfunny joke, just don't waste your time, there are cheaper companies that deserve your custom.

I used Purple Bricks to sell my beautiful home in Wisbech Cambridgeshire. The Representative Tim came and took photos and the description and the advert looked great! But this is where it ends..we went to market and in the first 4 weeks had no interest and no viewings.. and no contact from Purple Bricks! I had to chase them. When we did eventually sell it fell through on day of exchange (issue and start of the chain) again did not hear much from them. Absolutely rubbish! Use an estate agent in local area for Wisbech. I do have a friend work for Pb in Cumbria who helped me. She is much more pro active! I guess it depends where you live.

Worst experience of a so called estate agent's in 3 house sales! House been on the market for 2year 6months had 4 ridicules viewings and they all told me that it was near impossible to arrange the viewings online as Purple Bricks web site doesn't work properly. In total reduced my house by £60k now been told to reduce again! At the point if i have to reduced again we cant afford to sell or stay! Have tried 5 times to update photos and various info but website is useless. Called agent twice 5 days later still not updated my listing how am I ever going to sell for enough if no one at PURPLE BRICKS will ever do there job properly. Now going to get a proper estate agents and legal team as now beyond a joke the way we have been treated by Purple Bricks is disgusting. Absolute Con they have taken my money and just don't care! Save yourself and avoid them!

Firstly, when I was looking for property, I found the website helpful. It was easy to filter properties and book viewings and send messages to the seller regarding offer etc. When it came to contacting any Real Person in Bedfordshire, that was Jamie T in this case, It was extremely difficult to get hold of him. The agent did call me to convince me to buy the property and told me if I didn't increase my offer, he is going to buy the property for himself anyway !! I found it lowest level of pressure selling. I got through to the seller directly but whenever I needed to contact the agent, he never picked up and never returned the call which is very frustrating even when there were deadlines, he was not bothered about them. I might have called him 15-20 times in total within 3 months and he did not return a single call although he was the point of contact. I will not recommend using Purple Bricks as state agents because you need Human Beings when purchasing houses. The app is 10/10 but staff service is 1/10 I wonder why they getting so many good reviews to be honest

I tried selling a house I owned in Walthamstow through them. Various Open Days arranged, but no takers. I paid for one of their staff to show people round. He was a sound engineer with no knowledge of Estate agents’ work. I later received negative remarks from viewers on his complete lack of knowledge about the house. Six months later I got a local agent to have a go. I received 5 offers on their first open day, all at or above asking price. I think Purplebrick’s business model is fundamentally wrong. If someone is buying a house for over 600 grand, they need an experienced sales professional to answer questions, provide reassurance and lead them through the sales process. If an agent or his rep tells you they really have no idea about the house, how likely are you to buy it? I wouldn’t trust this company at all.

I would not even give Purple bricks one star! The service was awful and unprofessional! I had to constantly chase the agent up and often received emails from the agent, which said 'sorry I have been a busy boy' (Totally genuine, I will be keeping them for proof as hard to believe). My elderly mother who was selling her bungalow and had one perspective buyer in the space of a whole year and had absolutely no feedback. I was advised to change estate agency and went with Express estate agency, they were amazing. After a few weeks, there were plenty of buyers and the property sold within a few weeks. My mother has just completed after only three months, using their recommended solicitors. I am extremely disappointed with PB and asked if my mother was entitled to a small refund (especially after she had paid the full fee and on top of that an extra £300 for showing clients around (there was one person with no feedback). Although they apologised, there was no refund. Please don't be ripped off by this company. Take your time to choose an estate agent and take it from me they were shoddy and inexperienced.

Dreadful. I really liked the PB agent, so signed up and within a week or two of my property going live I’m told he’s left the business. No relationship whatsoever with the new guy, the ‘viewings lady’ is a complete disaster, so much so that my mum did my latest viewing (despite having paid extra for assisted viewings) as we were worried she was putting buyers off! The best advice I can give anyone is to avoid PB at all costs!

Don't use.. Two sales lost - my own and the person I was buying from - who had to withdraw from buying his next property and selling to me due to appalling lack of communication and failure to represent either their client or myself as buyer properly.. So-called local agent was surprised and irritated to be contacted, then had no knowledge of property.. My advice: Pay standard local agent or high street fees and get a proper service..

I will comment about them based on the disgraceful experience I received from purple bricks. My property is on the market for almost a year now which has been a matter of concern for me about their performance and their approach. When I first put my property on market I was told they will be able to sell the property at the estimated price but they failed, so the agent advised me to reduce the price by £10000 on my property but was of no avail. Then the agent advised me to re furbished the property with modern kitchen, new bathroom, uplifting the look of living room and entrance will definitely help and will be able to sell the property at the original price. After spending nearly £10000 on the refurbishment Purple bricks was still unable to sell the property. There only get away answer to this is that they have over priced the property and we need to go with the market. My question to them where was there experience when they go out estimating the property price, don't they study the market then. The service is so poor that they dont even bother to call the viewers who attended the property to get some feedback of them if they cant provide it online. Purple bricks are only after your money once you have contract with them you are trapped. they don't put any effort to help you to sell off your property and their agents will disappear after the contract. They will never contact you on the progress and what they are doing to help us. This site requires us to provide a star but to be honest they dont even deserve one star. My sincere advice to people looking to sell their property stay away from them spend extra money but get a real estate agents. P.S: STAY AWAY FROM PURPLE BRICKS PLEASE !!! From Sumit

I will list my experience objectively so that readers can make up their own mind. My property was on the market for 90 days with Purplebricks and had just 6 viewings. I believe that the low number of viewings was due to an over inflated price. Purplebrick's concierge team also phoned me and agreed and suggested lowering the price to spark interest. Sebastian Grayson, Local Property Expert, for Streatham, disagreed, despite 2 of the viewers saying that the property was overpriced, and insisted that I kept the property on at his evaluation. More importantly I discovered that Sebastian and his team, who I had paid to do viewings, had blocked out my online calendar everyday of the week, except for Thursdays, at optimum times, making it difficult for people to view. I even had notes through the door from people requesting viewings, as they could not get through to the central office to book. I asked the central office to investigate but as the investigation was carried out by the Territory Owner, Daren Cridge, ie the franchise holder who Sebastian had bought his franchise from, I wasn't convinced that I received an impartial review. 'Sebastian has made mistakes and I have asked him to learn from these' He also offered me £150 compensation 'to end the matter' but if I accepted that would have prevented me from involving the property ombudsman, so I declined. I withdrew my property from Purplebricks and instructed Jacksons of Streatham, who marketed the property at the same price for 4 days and showed 16 people around. They listened to the feedback and took on board that the price was too high. They then organised an Open Day, with the property on at an agreed reduced price and showed another 14 people around. Within 11 days they had shown a total of 36 people around my property and 3 offers came in. My house has now sold. I leave the reader to make their own conclusions.

The WORSE estate agents we have ever dealt with!!! They make it virtually impossible to view a property. They didn't turn up for the first viewing because we hadn't responded to a email we never got. Made another appointment which they cancelled with no explanation or apology. Got a email for another appointment for 10days later. The email states urgent response needed, but no link to respond to. We have dealt in property for many years and NEVER have we encountered such unprofessional, incompetent people as PB. STAY AWAY!!! Useless is a understatement!!!!

waste of space mickey mouse outfit. As a tennant for a property which is "managed" by purple bricks, 4 weeks on, and a simple issue is still not resolved, due to these muppets having zero customer service skills, let alone the ability to send the right guy to do a job..... If your looking to sell or rent out, do yourself a favour, use a real agent, as you will shoot yourself in the foot using these cowboys.

Guzumped by PB and pretty sure their agent colluded in the sale. You are forced to offer through their website(not to a solicitor as normal) and receive little response to your offer. I was told the offer was under consideration then miraculously the property was then "sold" without any reference back to me???
