Phoned up the RSPCA about 3 cats that have been neglected and flees and mites yet when we phoned to get help they was not really that helpful and basically they ld us to take the cats to a vets yet I give to this charity and if there not going to help then I will never give to this charity again as they didn't seem that bothered they wanted me to have all the details of someone else's cat and because I cud not give all the information they basically told me to find it out and ring back I know where they live but as for knowing there post code and the rest of the details that I don't know all I do know is 3 cats are been neglected and yet no help it's 75 degrees outside and they don't even have water in there bowls or food please help or I start to give to a charity that actually does help. You can actually see there rib cage and they are well under fed

What went wrong? Everything from first contacting them to the present day. They are not people that either care nor put the welfare of the animal first. They promote that owners of animals should adhere to the 5 basic principles of looking after animals. Fact - they do not care about that at all. Even when they know that an animal has been abandoned they still do not come to its rescue leaving the said animal in more distress. The advice they give you is to make the animal suffer more neglect by not feeding it on the assumption that if you do this they will take the animal. They will not take it. They just add to the cruelty of this poor animal. Well thanks a lot for nothing. I am seeking further advice on this matter from other authorities and intend to do everything I can to prove that RSPCA are in the wrong with what they are saying to people and the fact that they do absolutely nothing. I will not let this rest until I get justice for this poor neglected abandoned animal. These RSPCA inspectors should hang their heads in shame, how do they sleep at night letting this happen. One star is too much for this so called charity. Disgusting behaviour.

The rspca are not fit for purpose. I have rang them several times about a dog being kept on a tiny balcony in all weathers. The balcony takes the brunt of all weathers, freezing and wet in winter and absolutely no shade on a hot day like today. There is no kennel or shelter . The owner is aggressive and unapproachable . When I tried to speak to him he said "thats his home". The rspca seem to agree with him because their response is "we can't come out because its not a priority" I can understand they have more urgent cases but surely they can at least put it on a list . Apparently the owner has already had one dog took off him at this address but according to the lady I spoke to they have no record of it. They asked ridiculous quiestons which were impossible to answer because of where the dog is , body weight and condition, plus photo evidence. Yes I'm going to climb up to the second floor balcony to take photos 🙄. They should have the word prevention taken out of their title because it seems an animal has to be at deaths door before they will do anything. Meanwhile I'm left feeling helpless about this poor dog. Its breaking my heart worrying about him being outside and whatever else he may be going through too.

Farmed animals are NOT protected from abuse infact RSPCA support it. Red tractor...RSPCA assured welfare is horiffic. Do not believe this cover up of words. I have saw first hand how chickens you eat and the eggs you buy come from. Please do not support them.

I have just had one of the worst experiences ever in seeking support from the RSPCA to help an abandoned cat: On Monday, July 15, 2024 at about 6:45 pm, my neighbour's cat climbed out of a window and jumped from a flat roof; over 8 ft high, down into our garden below. He was driven to such a desperate act by starvation. He smelt our food. He was emaciated - I could touch my finger and thumb together where his stomach should be. He was disoriented, extremely distressed; crying loudly and persistently and was febble. I feel as if that jump was all he had left... We; myself and my 6-year old helped him. We gave it some tuna; this is all we had, found a box and a blanket for him to sleep in and tried to comfort him. Of course, he didn't sleep, he cried throughout the night, was sick and had diarrhoea all over the place. The poor thing has fleas and goodness knows whatever else as well... On Tuesday morning I started calling for support. I left the RSPCA until last because of all the horror stories about the organisation. I called them several times, desperate for help. Each time I encountered someone less than a human being. It was almost as if they had a script or checklist. Each "agent" regurgitating the same output; variations of this is not an emergency and/or we cannot help... One suggested that I take the cat to a vet to see if he was microchipped. I asked him if someone who is neglecting and starving a cat is likely to have even considered such a responsible thing? Despite my reservations, I took him to the vets who confirmed that he did not. I then called them back only for the agent to revert to the previous "not an emergency script". The only support I have received is from my kind and generous neighbours who have provided a cat litter, cat carrier food and advice about feeding. The RSPCA provided absolutely zero support. They didn't even tell me that it was not a good idea to feed him, or even that full pouches would most likely make him sick!! He was, repeatedly. I have been driven to take the most drastic step to return him to his owner's property with the likelihood of continued neglect and abuse. Needless to say, I will never donate to the RSPCA again and - in my opinion - the Royal Charter - for what it worth - is not deserved!! I find it hard to believe that there are many animals in a worse predicament than this cat and find it even harder to believe that 80% of RSPCA donations actually go to helping animals. Maybe some of the £160,000 annual salary of the "CEO" could be diverted to helping this poor cat!!

Just rung the RSPCA as a cat had been run over outside my house, it was still alive barely, huge amounts of blood. They said that no one would come out as they have not enough people, and suggested i take it to local vets. Now i am 70years old, disabled, and cant walk, how the hell am i supposed to do that.... this actually is the 4th time i have rung the RSPCA for help and have never had any help whatsoever...this poor cat has had to die along the road.. Absolutely disgraceful of the RSPCA, and these apparently care for animals?? I think not, but happy i'm sure to take the donations.

RSPCA you disgust me. Phone you to report a cat that had being punched, kicked , strangled ,wouldn't do nothing. Said phone back if the cat deteriorates, the cat is dead plus she has four other cats now in danger

RSPCA Isle of Wight were brilliant and very efficient in helping me to adopt my new cat. We were able to quickly arrange to visit and meet our cat and provide us with information to make our adoption possible. They also followed up with an email to make sure everything was going well. This is not the first time we have adopted from them, and I doubt it will be the last. Highly recommended.

These guys are a charity!! People donate money to them on the basis they will care for animals when needed. They have a duty of care. They haven’t helped in our case of our neighbour’s dog that’s been abandoned whilst he gets admitted to hospital. They refused to help!! The fog is in distress!! I won’t be making any donations in the future to this ‘charity’. Are they lining their own pockets I wonder?

I took my 8 week old kitten to thamesmead vets for sickness and diarrhoea on the 1st of may to, they told me she had a stage 6 heart murmur and told me she was dangerously dehydrated and needed a drip but couldn’t because of her heart, I was told she needed to be put to sleep. I explained she was playing and ok in her self but they tried scaring me into putting her down still. Despite this I was told she would gasp for breath as she gets older and that her heart wouldn’t cope with having a “massive” hole in her heart . I declined and took her for a second opinion at Easipetcare. They said she has a stage 5 heart murmur that will need more monitoring as she gets older but isn’t dehydrated in the slightest and could go years or even her entire life without an issue at all. Today she is absolutely full of life and totally recovered from her bug and putting the weight back on rapidly. ( added pics of her 4 weeks ago and now ) Honestly you may be a charity but this is absolutely terrible. You almost talked me into letting you kill my kitten. People need to get 2nd opinions before trusting Pdsa if your pet is otherwise fine in herself. Seems it’s easier for them to just kill an animal than treat them in my opinion. Definitely won’t be back. You can take me off the list thanks. UPDATE - I got a heart scan for my kitten. I have added the results to this post- Results say she don’t have a massive hole at all like you tried diagnosing. She has a very small hole, and a very good chance of going her entire life with no issues at all, I’m waiting for a phone call from management as I won’t be letting this drop. Update- she’s now 4 months old, it’s been 2 months since your staff advised I put my healthy kitten down! She’s still thriving and loving life. I am also still waiting for that phone call ?? ( updated a pic of her)

DO NOT DONATE TO RSPCA, this organisation is a complete waste of donated and Government subsidised money, they will not act on reported abuse to animals, they euthanise nearly every animal they take into care. DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE OR CAT SOCIETY ETC.

I am sure the RSPCA does good work with pets and domestic animal rescue, but the RSPCA approved scheme for farm food needs to be completely reviewed as it is clearly not fit for purpose. The recent undercover investigations into RSPCA approved farms are enough to make anyone shudder - absolutely appalling! The treatment of factory farmed animals, birds and fish is a national disgrace and should not be supported by a society that purports to care for animals.

You need to modernise, remember what the 'P' in your name means, drop the RSPCA ASSURED labeling scheme (intensive farming, introduced long after your creation, is inherently cruel), advocate a plant based diet, (not vegetarian), and work to get powers from government to, among other things, gain access to premises without warrents... otherwise animals will suffer directly from your antiquated policies and practises.

Contacted the rspca today to help cover the cost of neutering of a stray cat I have trapped with her kittens. Told to contact my nearest rspca which I had done and they told me they can’t help contact the main rspca. Only to be told again contact my local branch, explained already done this and the person I was speaking to online just kept repeating the same thing!!! Phoning the rspca is a joke gives 10 mins of useless advise and then ends the call. Unbelievable that as a major charity you are completely useless, my monthly donation is cancelled!!! At least I will help the cat and kittens!

Their IT site is old, outdated and doesn’t work for reporting missing animals. It is just not functioning. Then when you call you can’t get through. After a few days someone called me back then when transferring me hung up on me. RSPCA is just running like a shabby system and it is very disappointing on all levels. Nothing works. There is no customer resolution department. Everything is just badly inning or not running at all.
