They are incompetent they constantly were not receiving fax gave them a return to work date and they still messed up my pay try living on 199.00 dollars for a month instead of the 800 I was expecting trying to recover from cancer surgery the last thing I need is dealing with incompetence phone calls and emails this company should not be in business

I found out that I would be scheduled for surgery 6 weeks in advance. A week later, I informed my supervisor and began the calls to Sedgwick; the case manager stated that everything had to be turned in by a particular date in March. Two weeks from the initial call, my doctor, his assistant (nurse), and myself had all sent our respective paperwork to Sedgwick. Surgery took place and some time afterwards, more paperwork was sent on my behalf (yesterday), and later today, I received an email that everything was approved such as the LOA and pay for the specific timeframe. Now I’m waiting to return to work and get with our financial dept. She stated that she could find a way to ensure I’m paid completely for the few days that weren’t covered (pay wise) by working her magic! Overall, I’m satisfied with the process. I would advise a bit more communication from my specific case manager but the ladies that I did speak to later on, were phenomenal!

I wish I could give a zero! Horrible service (or lack there of). I filed my STD claim a month ago and due to a lack of communication from my case managers, the claim still has not been approved. They could not read the fax my doctor sent them with all the paperwork that was needed but never notified my doctor or me. Then they changed my case manager and didn’t tell me so I kept getting no responses from the first case manager they assigned to my claim. They also said they don’t communicate with the doctor for information they need, only the with the insured. They didn’t communicate with either in my case. My company used to use SUNLife for FMLA and STD claims and they were awesome when I had to file a claim. I would never recommend Sedgwick to anyone due to their poor service!

Absolutely unacceptable and highly unprofessional! This firm should not be at the forefront of a major bank’s decision-making process regarding employees on FMLA or Short-Term Disability. Their handling of these matters leaves a terrible impression on the integrity of the employer. The lack of professionalism and care is shocking, and their approach creates unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. Employees deserve better treatment and more competent decision-making.

Completely unreasonable and unreliable. Not only did they make it extremely difficult with the documentation but also refused to disclose important information I needed both during the time I was with my ailing father in law all the way up to his death. I had to fight with them for nearly two weeks before they finally agreed for my leave, only to then tell me I won't be paid which is one of the things I had been asking for since the beginning of the leave. If I had been told it was just for job security and not pay I would have been better prepared to get through the tragedy, but instead was left in the dark until it was too late.

If I can leave 0☆ I would. I set up a claim for paternity leave in november for my daughter to be born in feb of this year (2025), I was approved for 6 weeks. Now they're telling me I'm only approved for 2 weeks and if I want more time it will be unpaid. When I asked about the time I was quoted for, they had no idea what i was talking about. This company is a joke, their policies are a joke, if I didnt know any better I'd say this company is a scam. I will be talking to my company to find somewhere else to place our business trust because this is insanity.

These people take more than three days to send you the first forms to fill out. They only give you two weeks to provide all the information from your doctor. And with one week left until the deadline to close the application, they then ask for your medical records, and because of the company's medical policy, those documents are released in a period of three to six weeks. In other words, in the end they are not going to approve anything! I think they do this on purpose to not approve the claims and to psychologically punish the employee who is sick and has to continue paying his bills.

Went through them with Hyundai buyback. Sedgwick received the check that Hyundai made out to me on Oct 2, 2024. It’s now February 27th, 2025 and I still don’t have the check. After about 20 phone calls and 5 case managers later (because they quit) and 15 emails they finally sent me that check. And it was expired!!! Then they said they requested another one from Hyundai. Then they said they sent the wrong check. Then they said they sent another check. Still have not received my money. Sedgwick is the worst company. I will never buy another Hyundai and it’s not because of Hyundai but rather that they chose Sedgwick to handle their claims. Sedgwick needs to be investigated and investigated audited. And Hyundai needs to drop them. I’ll be sharing my experience and I know Sedgwick doesn’t care but I only hope that Hyundai drops them.

They make it extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone, but make it very easy to deny your claim.

I would give them a zero if it were possible. When you have a disability, you should not have to fight for your benefits. Call backs are terrible. They don’t listen to you at all. It’s like they do everything to make you miserable. They are a joke!

Disgusting... even dangerous. Their mantra: "Taking care of people is at the heart of everything we do"... hard to think of a bigger falsehood. Black mould attack in my daughter's bedroom. Assessors came and told me what a dangerous health hazard it was and that they would ump on it with great urgency, esp as she was sleeping on the floor to avoid the contamination... FIVE WEEKS LATER, after chasing and chasing, they finally forwarded the report to the insurance company!!! They should be ashamed, as should any insurer who uses them.

I honesty pray my organization stop using Sedgwick for FMLA and Short Term Disability, and I have placed in a complaint today and the labor board is next. This organization/adjuster lacks the time frame for reviewing doctor paperwork, employer management approval emails, and pay vouchers, and leaving employees with missed pay hours, pay checks for weeks or a month (no to limit income). Customers Rep’s are always confused and provide incorrect information. Overall Horrible Service.

This company is a joke... Every single time you call the agent cant help you at all. As they say, "let me review the notes one moment..." blah blah and cant answer a single question about your claim. They then state "i will go ahead and put in a note for the "examiner" or whoever to call you back". This then continues to delay my claim. On top of that ive lost two weeks of disabiliy pay. Claim started 1/24 and they did not start my waiting period on that day.. so now I miss out on the next weeks pay because my company paid me for 1/24-1/31. How can a company expect you to put in so much effort when on medical leave?

It's been over a week since they've stated that they've mailed out my leave of absence paperwork, yet I'm still waiting. Mail shouldn't take that long especially since I've got 20 days from the start of the claim to get all paperwork in.

We have had a claim in since November and were assigned a claims manager, Allison Weaver. It has been 46 days since her last email. We have emailed her requesting the next steps or understanding this process. We have included her manager Jackie Ngo with no response. We have called dozens of times. She has called back a couple times and we have missed it left messages and her recording it that she will call back in 24 hours but that has never happened. Assuming at this point we will need to enlist the help of an attorney.
