7 year old expensive range cooker, burnt out PCB. SMEG don't stock spares - they say 2 weeks but still no guarantee that they will arrive from Italy. This is appallingly bad after sales service for a supposedly top of the range cooker. Bad enough that it failed but I've never had to wait two weeks for spares on any machine as far as I recall, including Italian makes. Have to buy a standby as can't not have a cooker for 2 weeks or longer, with Christmas approaching.

bought a dual fuel SMEG stove in Oct 2019. Just after 3 years the electric oven died and can't be repaired. SMEG customer service don't care. They rep almost hanged the phone while talking to me. Rude. $ 3500 in the toilet. Do not buy SMEG

I don't write negative posts as a rule, however this has to be said. We purchased a Smeg fridge freezer in 2019 at a cost of £1,500.00. When it was delivered the two front feet were missing and the bolts dug into, and gauged our brand new oak floor badly. We then noticed the G was missing from the Smeg on the fridge door and there was a large deep scratch in the same door. There was also what appeared to be dried blood on the inner door trays. Whoever had made this appliance was clearly having a bad day. The Smeg engineer came out with two feet and a replacement upper fridge door some weeks later. When I questioned the amount of faults in one appliance, he informed me that only 1 in 1500 appliances are quality control checked. We chose a Smeg fridge freezer because it looked stylish and wrongly assumed because of the cost, the quality would be good. New fridge door and feet fitted, we were happy, however a few months ago we noticed that the lower, original freezer door had turned yellow, whilst the upper, replacement fridge door was still white. A few of our friends said did you know your fridge and freezer doors don't match, we did. We contacted Smeg customer services on numerous occasions, to no avail, eventually I wrote to the CEO and received a reply from the customer service supervisor advising me that all emails go via her as if, how dare I go to the CEO. The correspndence has been going on for some time now, mainly because no one ever gets back to you and when they eventually do, the reply is unsatisfactory. We were informed that as the appliance was out of warranty, we could buy two more doors for £625.26 with 10% off, however there was a risk that these doors would not match in colour and there wold be no refund, or purchase another appliance under contribution/exchange for £916.30. Neither option seems fair, as firstly if they cannot garantee the new doors would match, why didn't they change both doors in the first place, so we had doors from the same batch that wouldn't age or discolour differently and secondly, were we to take the second option and buy another appliance, we would have paid £2,500.00 for a fridge freezer when ours is only a couple of years old and immaculate apart from one yellow and one white door. I can't influence what people do, but I can share my own experience and hopefully make people think before they buy a Smeg applaince.

I am disgusted with the quality and after sale service of Smeg products. Less than 4 years ago we purchased a fridge, microwave, oven , gas cooker and a toaster kettle combo . We went with Smeg because they were supposed to be the ultimate in luxury appliances. We wanted the best for our new home so we did not hesitate in paying more for appliances we thought to be superior. How wrong we were. Smeg has been an utter nightmare . We have had numerous call outs from Smart Appliance Centre during the short period we have owned the appliances . From rusting fridge doors, broken ice makers , rusting kettle, our oven had its PCB board replaced and is broken again and now we are expected R7000 to replace it again. Our gas cooker has given us endless problems and all the plates have never ever worked together. There was always a problem with one or more plates. It blows my mind to hear that Smeg cookers cannot be used with any doors or windows open. Wish we knew all this information when we paid all that money for inferior quality products. Now we receive an invoice from Smart Appliance Centre saying we need to pay R10 000 to repair our oven and cooker for problems we have had in the past. The inconvenience of having appliances that we use everyday in our kitchen is ridiculous. The time we wait with broken appliances in between call outs and repairs , the time spent waiting to speak to after sales support and booking call outs, the time spent writing emails to customer care that really could not be bothered is disappointing. We will not be paying to have these appliances repaired instead we will buy new appliances of a different brand. Smeg has been a waste of money and time.

After 18 months of light use, my Smeg toaster heating element sparked and then only toasted on one side. Complicated/difficult to contact Smeg customer service who finally responded with “Small appliances have a 1 year warranty.” From the beginning the toaster was inferior to the $25 Black and Decker I had stored in the attic. Smeg has no defrost setting, no bagel setting and toasted unevenly from the beginning. Not even close to “you get what you pay for.” Suggest avoiding Smeg appliances!!

Unfortunately we purchased this lovely looking smeg mixer and while making our weekly bread the glass bowl cracked (1 yr after purchase) while using it at the recommended speed. Very disappointing and what was more than disappointing was the general manager Rudolph Pieterse said that it should not be used at high speed (which it wasn’t) that they will not replace the glass unit and that it will cost 2700 zar. He didn’t have the decency to return my call but asked his assistant to. We have many friends with the kitchen aid no one has had this experience when something has gone wrong. We currently own a smeg oven, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, coffee maker and this is the customer service we receive? Very very dissappointing Smeg #smeg

Terrible product Terrible product. Ordered a coffee machine in March 2020 which then went wrong with a mechanical problem within a year. Item was replaced with a brand new product. Said coffee machine has now gone wrong again with the same issue as before where the steamer isn’t working. I am now apparently out of warranty even though the NEW machine has gone wrong after a year. So your warranty applies to your original purchase even though it was replaced. It was an expensive product and they offered me a replacement for £100 - why would I pay anymore money for a product that clearly has a fault. I will be taking this further as I have been sold faulty goods. Don’t waste your money.

My SMEG toaster had a heating element issue. I submitted the issue for warranty and within 3 business days a new replacement toaster arrived at my doorstep. Totally happy, thanks SMEG!

SMEG Dual Fuel Range Cooker installed 6 weeks ago, however we noticed the screws on the door lock has damaged the interior oven panel and door difficult to close. Several emails, pictures and phone calls later we have still not had response from customer service. Disgusted.

Customer services absolutely garbage. Do not answer anything when questioning fitting instructions which are appallingly unhelpful in the first place. In my view you are better off buying a different brand.

Worst customer support. Kept saying we don’t know what the problem is and only option is pay for a new one. Don’t waste your time calling the customer support even. Overpriced produce, cheap customer support that is not trying to help.

Worst customer service in the history of customer service. No desire to help or be helpful. Not worth even trying anymore. I’m stuck with this POS oven that cost 5k Overpriced Chinese garbage. Oh wait… it’s designed in Italy. DONT DO IT! YOU WILL REGRET. I wish I had listened to the reviews… don’t say you weren’t warned.

Smeg customer service is the worst out of all brands. The lack of technical support for any issues that occur is an embarrassment. Staff have little to no product knowledge. All they want to do is push an expensive engineer at your expense to visit your home. The engineers labelled as smeg approved but no backing from smeg if there are problems or concerns. Smeg could not even talk about basic trouble shooting that is printed in their own manuals. Do not buy Smeg. Overpriced products and parts with cheap customer Sevice and values. FYI I have over £5000 worth of Smeg appliances from a new build house. Smeg offered me no support or confidence to fix a basic microwave fault.

I have 5 different domino units in the low profile stainless steel range range. After very little use, on the induction hob both controls are faulty. Parts will be £260. 2 other units are also faulty inc the teppanyaki… parts to repair £850. Yes you read that right. Smeg used to be ok but quality is appalling.

Really bad service and despite trying to resolve my issues it’s taken 4 months to get a replacement oven. They were fully aware that I had elderly people in the properly but consistency didn’t take that on board. Spoke to 6 ppl over a period of 4 months and I had to keep in repeating myself. Products look beautiful but not built to let. Look at reviews on trust pilot

Please do not buy a Smeg appliance I purchased a cooker and kettle whitch only lasted a few weeks they would not replace and cooker was faulty parts did not fit and oven door handle has fallen off. I live on my own so it is not subject to any abuse. Do not be blinded by the name the appliances look good are highly overpriced and are not fit for purpose.
