We have the victoria cooker and hood from smeg. One of the knobs fell off the hood and cracked the glass of the induction hood. The appliances are both less than a year old. Smeg refuses to honour the warranty. At first, they said it was impossible and basically accused me of lying and then they said it was just cosmetic so no covered. This took months of communication to come to as they are so unresponsive to emails. Do NOT buy their products they are double the price of any others with no customer service, they don't even honour their legal obligations. I will be taking them to small claims court.

Bought a Smeg kettle and the plastic rocker switch has cracked, it must be a couple of pounds worth. Smeg won’t supply one, not can’t supply, just WONT!!! The company are so arrogant and pompous typical Italian rubbish, looks wonderful (apart from the cheap and nasty stick on letters) but cheap as chips. When you take it apart it’s as good as any £20 kettle you buy you’re just paying a premium for those nasty little SMEG gold stick on letters!!

Bought a brand new range oven in November - in plenty of time to host Xmas dinner this year. One of the ovens broke 2 weeks later after using it twice. It is now 23rd December, we have had an engineer out twice already and we are STILL waiting for them to come and fix it. They are supposed to be coming Xmas eve morning- but as soon as Xmas is over they can come and collect it, refund me plus compensation for the times we have had to come home from work to wait For the engineer to not be able to fix it. An absolute shambolic disgrace and SMEG should be ashamed. A brand new £1300 oven should not brake and need parts. Nor should it take 3 failed attempts and almost a month to fix. ( which hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow so we can at least cook Xmas dinner) would not recommend to anyone.

Bought a retro SMEG toaster 6 months ago and it set on fire in the kitchen and blew the electrics. After the appliance was checked out it appears the elements are badly designed and touch, which caused the fire. SMEG make it difficult to make a complaint and aren’t interested that this is a design fault and continue selling these SMEG toasters regardless. DO NOT BUY a SMEG toaster. They are a rubbish and DANGEROUS.

spent a lot of money on a smeg kettle because I loved the design. Unfortunately the smeg logo is just stickers and when it gets hot, they peel off!it now looks terrible. I contacted customer service and they said they'd send me some new letters for me to stick on!I hope I get the spacing and position right!don't think you should have to do this, very poor design.

Bought a SMEG dishwasher DFD613W in 2015- It is now 2019 and it has a massive crack on the front panel. It was installed correctly and has not been moved or mishandled. You can only open the unit from the specific catch and still this has happened it looks like a stress fracture where the front is incorrectly supported from the inside, Cost of replacement parts plus labour is half the way to a new unit so will probably cut my losses and replace entirely as I have never felt this cleans particularly well. Last time i will buy SMEG as contacting them is not the easiest.

Smells FAB fridges are the worst build quality I have ever seen. I had a repair man come out to try and fix the freezer door. He explained that the fridges are a nightmare. They are not Italian but are built in Poland and Romania. Next time I will be buying Siemens.

I bought a smeg MIDr7RA-2 kitchen tap that cost close to £600, after 5 months its connections that are not supposed to come loose have come apart. Supposed to have a 2 year warranty but when calling Smeg nobody wants to know or attempt to be any help whatsoever. I have been calling for over a month now and all they do is try to pass me from department to department, now they are telling me it is Smeg Italy that have to resolve it and they have "emailed them" and I have to wait an indefinite time to hear a response. It is incredibly frustrating trying to reason with monkeys, I might as well bang my head against the wall. Do not use this company if you think you will ever need any after sales care.

This was the 3rd oven sent to us as there were things not quite right the first 2 and they never once made me feel I was being too pickie or annoying. They just wanted me to be completely happy with my purchase. Which I now am.
