“Four weeks ago i went specsaver in bearwood road and after check they said your glass is ready after aweek and they keep calling me to say sorry your glass is not ready till today and i cancel my order.bad service bad customer service”
“The supposed call centre answered my initial enquiry with kirt, blunt questions... I visited the Deal shop where I had good service although something I required wasn't available.. I travelled home as I didn't have my credit card with me, I tried to call three times over two hours each time receiving a message saying the phone cannot be answered.. I eventually got through to a woman who's manner was bordering on rudeness... I kept asking why the phone was not being answered, to which she kept talking over me saying 'date of birth' .... I think the management should be taking a serious view on this vital function for any business.. Colin Craddock 077203 72965”
“I feel totally let down by specsavers they couldn't do the glasses had chosen they couldn't get the lenses to fit them but gave me one of pair of glasses that could get lenses for which a six year old would no thank you, so I went to boots they phoned there lenses makers , yep they can do lenses and just choose the frames I wanted, all done , so specsavers I have been with you for 20 years +, so let down”
“Wish I hadn't gone to Specsavers, Arnison, Durham.
An appalling optician. They took £285 for glasses, issued the wrong prescription and now simply don't want to know.
Buyers Beware.
A rogue outfit!.”
“Young Optician that I saw was very good and also one older woman who was helpful who then then disapeared to not be seen again during my visit. Lots of staff and no help! I did not know what was happening next other than being toldto sit in a seat and wait. There were mainly young/school leavers who looked bored who worked there. A young woman mumbled at me throughout an additional test I was having. I could not hear her. She just looked embarrassed and bored. Dance type music playing, and staff standing and chatting to each other about everything else other than work! Honestly the whole place was very unprofessional. I was left to choose frames, and when I needed help there was none. I ended up paying for the test, and then found that my prescription had not been included in the rest of the paperwork. I have no glasses and will go elsewhere. Complete waste of time. I will never return.”
“Over priced I got completely ripped off my glasses cost £469 in specsavers Kilburn, so I went to boots in Kilburn £237 what a difference I will never go to specsavers again. Should have gone to specsavers no Should have gone to boots.”
“Tried telephoning Kidderminster branch to book eye test and ear wax removal. 3 days on the trot waited 45minutes on hold and still no one answered ! What sort of business is that”
“Waiting for an at home appointment for a vulnerable 93 year old only to be told sorry we have run out of time.
I had to wait weeks for the appointment had to call them for a time slot.
I had to take time off for which I won't be paid.
Hugely unimpressed.”
“The eye test itself was good, but that's where it ended.
I waited two weeks to get my glasses, which wasn't a problem. However, when they finally arrived, I couldn't see out of the left lens. They had put a minus prescription instead of a plus, so both pairs had to go back. There was no apology; they said it was apparently a typing error. I waited another two weeks for them to be redone.
I ended up going back six times because the glasses kept sliding down my nose and were crooked. The last time was a complete joke. The assistant cut the arms on either side. By the time I got home from the shop, I had a headache. I switched to my old glasses, and the headache went away. I'm assuming I was looking out of the wrong part of my glasses and straining my eyes.
I went back yet again and asked for a complete refund. The manager dealt with me. Apparently, I had also paid for an eye test even though I'm 62! I didn't know it was supposed to be free, to be honest, but they should have.
I would have given them a zero rating if possible. Each time I went back, I felt like I was a burden to them, interrupting their group chats.
Iv told a lot of my friends about my experience and most will not use them either. All they seem to be interested in is how much money they can get from you.. iv since been to asda got two lovely pairs of glasses for a fraction of the price and the service was impeccable. Restored my faith back into an optitions”
“£175 offer for varifocal lenses? No. £40 to send frames: £60 for thinner lenses for coating.£60 etc etc. NEVER anywhere near the quoted price. It veers dangerously close to mis-selling. Will go elsewhere”
“Absolute shambles. I had an eye-test in York five weeks ago (I don't live in York but was there for the weekend). I confirmed the prescription, chose the frames, and paid for it all - £165. I was assured that the glasses would be sent to my local Specsavers (Manchester) within two weeks. Six weeks later I am still trying to track down my glasses. The York branch took my payment within 24 hours but, six weeks later, my local branch say they know nothing about my glasses. This is apparently because my local Specsavers use a completely different online system to the York Specsavers. 'Should have gone to Specsavers'? Don't go to Specsavers. Just don't.”
“Specsavers Hampton audiology department. Great service until they have your money. £1256 for one hearing aid, they said 2 weeks, so I had the moulding of my ear done, then after a few days I get a call to say that your ear is too small for the rechargeable version, so I agree to the battery style. The night before my Thursday appointment for fitting, I get a call to say your aid has been delayed with the courier, it won't arrive until after your scheduled 9.15 am appointment. So I ask when can I collect it then? On Monday sir from our branch in Staines, we are too busy at Hampton to fit you in!
Needless to say I cancelled my order and have had my refund, They will no longer be getting my business for hearing or my glasses.”
“Terrible experience with this optician. Over £400 paid for new glasses with varifocals.
Having used varifocals for 20 years I know how they work but the new glasses lenses were clearly (or unclearly) faulty. Returned 4 times for rectification, measurements retaken every time as if my eyeballs or lenses had grown since the previous measurement, all with no effect. 5th time of returning I spoke to the manager who could not understand why I wanted to speak to her but admitted that they had misunderstood my issue at every visit. Got my money back and visited another optician.”
“Absolutely terrible experience, even now after 4 visits and remakes the glasses are bad and I cant see what is so difficult as I seem to be able to read my laptop screen with a 3.99 pair of ready readers and yet Specsavers cannot seem to get my prescription correct or the bifocal. The staff are very polite, but there seems to be a lack of technical understanding and seeing 4 different opticians doesnt seem to help with continuity!”
“If I could give 0 stars, I would.
They cancelled my appointment at the close of business the evening before my appointment first thing next morning, no explanation, not even an apology.
I left a review on another site and was asked to contact them on X, or Facebook ,which I did, I gave the relevant information that they might need on the X platform and I’ve heard nothing since.
Avoid at all costs!!”
“Booked an appointment for Home visit month in advance. On the day of the appointment, I called them, as the time had passed for the appointment. 1 hour later having called them they told me the car had broke down on the way to my home. I asked could I have not been informed, they told me the optitian had not got his phone on him😖, needless to say they offered me another appt in a months time, I declined. Home Visit not efficient service and found to be inadequate. The advert they put out 'should of gone to specsavers' recommended boots or local opticians.”
“I had a terrible experience at specsavers sydenham....I arrived at my appointment at 10.30...and had repeated tests done over and over...the same tests..which quite frankly frightened the life out of me...I was there till 1.20pm...3hrs.....I was so stressed by the time I left the shop and had to lay down when I went home as I had a horrendous headache....I don't know why they kept repeating the same tests.....I will never go back there again after I pick my glasses up”
