Absolutely disgusting company, that should not be trading with holidays of any type. Have been in contact with many people who have been badly let down by this company. My husband and I were due to take our grand daughters to Robyn Hood Bay on 10th July, on the 9th were told by the owner of the cottage that she had informed Sykes that she no longer wanted to rent her property in January ( all copies of emails were forwarded to me), March, April and June. Skyes blamed covid19 which is ridiculous. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, I HAD MY MONEY RETURNED, MANY HAVEN'T

NEVER EVER USE SYKES absolute disgrace. owner of three cottages informed Sykes in January that she no longer rented her cottages. Sykes failed to inform me. We were due to go last Friday with our grand-daughters, all packed and ready to go. phoned for keys for owner to inform us ' no cottage ' Sykes blamed covid 19 even though owner informed them in January and I have all the emails which she sent them. do not return phone calls and blame wifi. ABSOLUTE DISGRAGE. USELESS, UNTRUSTWORTHY AND LIARS.

Absolute disgrace, cottage was taken off rental in January. Not told about it until day of departure to cottage. All packed up and ready to go, only when phoned to collect keys was I told about it. Sykes blamed covid 19 but owner informed them in January but Sykes chose to ignore it. Owner sent all emails to me that was sent to Sykes in January, March, April and June and still they continued to advertise the cottage and two others that the owner had removed. Never use these. Had to wait for refund until our holiday was over, therefore ruined everything for the four of us. Shame on them

sold me a cottage via website that was not available. After being advised by owner had awful issue getting refunded. They did cancel the booking but it showed as available again on their site later same day so someone else could have same issue. Hopeless, rude staff and totally inefficent.

I cancelled my holiday before the deadline. They still took money from my card, and are refusing to refund it, despite several phone calls and emails. When you get through on the phone they fob you off with reassurances, then don’t get back to you. Terrible service, Dishonest practice.

I booked a cottage in wales, the owner refused to continue with booking due to lockdown. Sykes won't give me a refund. Ive tried calling them emailing them they are just fobbing me off. Do not use them again !!!!

Lost my deposit refused to change my holiday even though I was willing to pay any fees due, not helpful, avoid like the plague. Ty Bach Ysgo in Wales, pure greed by the property owners.

Sykes are thieving bastards, have nothing to do with them unless you are chasing for money they have stolen from you for cancelled bookings. Then hit them with legal action it’s the only thing they’ll understand.

We were due to go to scotland but couldn't because of the lockdown. We wanted to postpone our holidays in september and rent the same cottage or another one . Impossible and they don't want to give us back our prepayment. Avoid this company . It is a theft....and Abritel continues to work with them

Disgusting company to deal with. We booked a holiday in Wales in June and had to change the date so we re booked for later on in June, we were told to re book again as Wales wasn't open to holiday makers. We changed the date to the 3rd of July only to get a call from Sykes to say we will have to go on the 4th of July, They took all our money knowing we couldn't go till after the 13th of July, i've sent 14 emails and tried to call getting no response. I have been i contact with the owner of the cottage and she has NOT had any money of Sykes. The money is not Sykes so it must be THEFT.

Would give lower if at all possible. Not replying to emails, now blocked me from twitter, refusing to engage at all, shocking customer service. Stay away from them.

Money hungry no customer service skills, Rude. During a pandemic you think there would be some compassion well your dreaming if you expect it from this company My advice is move on theres lots of other companys that don't have catch admin charges if you needed to cancel your holiday due to a global pandemic

Booked to go away in Devon end of July. We decided to cancel due to being too worried about the pandemic to travel. I emailed them numerous times to cancel but it would take several days for any reply and they weren’t accepting any calls. They only emailed me back when I was enquiring about moving it to next year which they wanted MORE money for. As soon as I said to cancel they ignored my email. I ended up cancelling on the app before the full payment was due. Luckily we paid the low deposit option and called the bank to stop them taking any money. Once they realised they couldn’t take the rest of the “deposit” they kept sending me emails saying for me to pay “now” or further action will be taken. Funnily enough they actually bothered calling when they couldn’t get hold of funds. If your worried that they are going to take funds straight from your bank (which they will even if you cancel) then call the bank to block them taking any funds. When we called the bank to do this for us they said they have had so many calls about Sykes- people trying to get their money back from them/ putting stops on them taking money.

We have used Sykes Cottages for over 10 years. We have found al the cottages clean and well maintained. The staff members who we have contacted have all been very helpful. Because we live in Canada and the restrictions of Covid19 we requested a change of dates which they have agreed with no problems. Many of the complaints maybe valid, but during this time frustrations tend to bring the worst out of people. Hope you all are safe and healthy.

Worst company I’ve ever dealt with, customer service is shocking. They always say contract is with the owner even tho they r the ones who take your money. We stayed in a place with a disgustingly filthy hot tub and stank of dog, they called me a liar and said the pictures I provided as evidence weren’t time stamped. Disgusting company do not give them your money! Reviews are terrible wish I’d read them before booking. Ruined our holiday.

Forced to change dates to next year or cancel and lose all money, in the process invalidating travel insurance for anything Covid related in the future. After CMA intervention they are now giving refunds, but NOT to those of us who were given no choice but to amend dates. First and last time I'll use Sykes.

I booked and paid in full for a little cottage for 3 nights for later this month, got email to confirm and then next day got email that they has cancelled it at owners request and guess what, owner had doubled the cost of the holiday, doubled it!! Is it the owner or is it Sykes. I have held on phone for over an hour and after speaking to someone she was supposed to call back but didn't. I have held on again today for another hour to no avail. Even the refund will not be immediate so I have no funds to treat myself to a few days break. No one has answered my emails or 2 calls to see why this has happened, its breaking the contract. DO NOT TRUST THIS SITE, SYKES OBVIOUSLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS VERY DISAPPOINTED
