I have been backwards and forwards first with phone calls until they closed their phone lines down also emails which don't often get answered and waiting on live chat. I was supposed to pay balance on 30th April forever 2000 pounds. Before that date flights were cancelled and hotel closed and not been paid. On live chat an advisor told me I must pay as nothing had changed on my holiday. After more hours spent on live chat I finally received a phone call to say I didn't have to pay the balance and they would let me know options for return of deposit. Well yesterday I received an email telling me my balance was overdue and I needed to pay it. Absolutely disgusted. Needless to say they won't be getting it. Their customers service is the worst I've ever had to deal with.

TT783022- I am still waiting for a reply, I have emailed them many times! No phone lines! Only live chat, and they have refused to discuss refund until 31st July! This company is a scam, stay away. All advertising rights should be taken away from them! Most of their names are fake too.

1* (Avoid Teletext Holidays) - Untrustworthy! They up-sold me my all inclusive holiday. When my holiday was cancelled they told me that they will NOT take any further money from my account, but they continued to take hundreds of pounds from my account (unauthorised). When I questioned this and asked for a refund, they disappeared. All I then got was automated email replies. I did receive a phone call from on of their reps in India, but the connection was not vert good and I could not understand what was said clearly. After being denied my money back after declining their protected credit note, I had to go through my credit card supplier to raise a dispute to get my money back. BE CAREFUL BOOKING WITH TELETEXT HOLIDAYS! KEEP ALL CHAT TRANSCRIPTS, CALL LOGS, NAMES, REFERENCES AS THIS COMPANY DO NOT KEEP THEIR WORD AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED (in my opinion). Still waiting for my money back after many almost two months!

TT754570. If Teletext holidays would like to contact me regarding my refund I am "all ears" awaiting your excuses. Of course I'm going to Spain despite the fact that the Hotel is closed. Of course I am flying from Birmingham airport. The foreign office rulling that it is ILLEGAL to travel to a british airport for the purpose of a holiday is irrelevant. TELETEXT you are a disgrace. I await your automated response together with your automated email of denial.

Refusing to refund my holiday and withholding money refunded by EasyJet. Breaking the law and deserve to be charged with theft. Useless and incompetent call centre staff with cut and paste answers hiding unscrupulous and greedy directors who have stolen money from thousands of customers. No refund yet, but ill see them in court for refund, interest and fees!

Terrible company, even worse customer service. If you want to talk about a refund, you will struggle to get someone to listen to you. If you phone to book a holiday, you’ll get straight through. I am legally entitled to a full refund, yet this company is avoiding this. I do not want a credit note! I want a full refund. Disgusting and illegal practises being enforced at teletext. I will never use this company again. If you are thinking about using them, DONT. If you still owe a final payment, do not pay it.

Coronavirus: Watchdog threatens legal action on holiday refunds 28 minutes ago Share this with Facebook Share this with Messenger Share this with Twitter Share this with Email Share Related TopicsCoronavirus pandemic Image copyrightGTE Firms that fail to refund people for holidays and weddings cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak could face legal action by the consumer watchdog. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) says it will take companies to court if they flout the law. It says four out of five complaints made to its Covid-19 Taskforce are about cancellations and refunds. Issues include holidaymakers being pressured to take vouchers instead of refunds for accommodation. Meanwhile, some wedding venues are refusing to refund any money. The CMA said the holiday vouchers being offered can only be used during a more expensive period, while wedding venues are telling people to claim on their insurance. At the same time, the CMA said some nurseries were asking people to pay very high sums in order to keep a place open for their child. Media caption'We've saved so hard for so long for it, it's beyond belief almost' Consumer law requires that a full refund is offered if a business has cancelled a contract without providing any of the promised goods or services. This includes if no service is provided because of restrictions during the current lockdown or if a consumer cancels because of the restrictions. The CMA warning covers UK holiday accommodation and private events, but not the issue of refunds for cancelled flights - a subject that has caused widespread anger. That issue is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority. Refund or no refund? Alice Jordan paid more than £1,800 for a special family holiday over Easter in a cottage on the Isle of Wight. Then she saw her plans thrown into chaos by the coronavirus outbreak. Image copyrightALICE JORDAN Image caption Alice Jordan faced an extra charge for rebooking at the same time next year But she was also told that if she cancelled she would lose all her money. The agent was not cancelling the booking, but allowing customers to rebook instead, without incurring normal amendment fees. Initially, that was impossible, but the agent would not give her a refund. Later, when the cottage became available again, she discovered it would cost her £49 to secure it for the same period next year. Read more on this and other cases 'Our wedding is cancelled but we still have to pay' 'I was asked for £430 a month for my shut nursery' 'Distressed' Adam French, consumer rights expert at Which?, welcomed the CMA's move. "We've heard from many distressed people who risk being left out of pocket for significant sums of money as they struggle to get refunds for cancelled weddings, private events, or holiday accommodation," he said. "It's right the CMA investigates sectors that are skirting their legal responsibilities on refunds and cancellations by trying to rely on unfair and unenforceable terms and conditions. "The regulator must be prepared to step in and take strong action against any businesses found to be breaching consumer law and taking advantage of consumers during these unprecedented times." The message from the CMA is that you cannot get away with flouting consumer law, even if you are struggling to deal with the impact of the virus. It takes a dim view of businesses which avoid paying refunds and, at the same time, apply for financial help from the government. The aim is to spark a rapid change in behaviour by making a big noise with these warnings, because clamping down can be a lengthy process. The body would have to force offenders to give an undertaking to address concerns, then take them to court if they broke the agreement.

I do not recommend Teletext Holidays as they offer no support for cancellations due to COVID-19. Our holidays were cancelled over a month ago and they forcing us to accept vouchers instead of a cash refund.

Teletext holidays you are a disgrace. Jasmine told me on webchat that they are NOT processing refunds at this time. They havent refunded March travelers yet!!! They are collecting refunds and not passing them on to customers. They are advising passengers to travel. They state my holiday in May remains unaffected by COVID19! They state that they are waiting foreign office advice!. The advice is...It is illegal to travel to an airport for holiday travel.Lies lies and more lies. We the consumers are now truly sick of it. There is no intention by this company to refund anyone. Disgusting behaviour. Please everyone be warned.

Booked holiday for 11th July . I asked to reschedule but they wouldn’t allow me to. They told me to pay my balance of 2500 by 1st June . I wouldn’t so I cancelled. Lost 520 deposit . Disgraceful, disgusting company . I wouldn’t give them one star . Rip off merchants. Hopefully they will be taken to court .

Holiday cancelled. But refused cash refund. Only credit note. But their terms and conditions state full refund in 14 days. But they are ignoring this. Very hard to speak to someone. And when you do it's in India. With bad line. They just don't care about their customers. All they care about is taking your money and keeping it.

Teletext terms and conditions state that you cancel your holiday for a full CASH refund if the country has an infectious disease. I asked teletext online chat what my rights were around cancelling my holiday to ne told i would be liable for cancellation charges. I sent them a screenshot of their terms and conditions for them to ignore them completely and still tell i would be liable. I emailed the customer relations team and asked them to clarify this multiple times and they have ignored all of my emails. I had an email from the airline cancelling my flight, i then asked teletext online chat what the status of my flight was to be told its still live. I then informed them if the cancellation from the airline and they continued to tell me it was still live. I asked if they knew the country i was due to travel to had put a ban on anyone entering until at least may 15th for them to act like they didn't know this. After a few minutes ge finally admitted that they knew my flight was cancelled and that the country has a ban on people entering. So he had just lied to me over and over again. They acting unlawfully as they point blank refuse to issue refunds. Credit note or rebooking only, despite the law saying they have to issue a full cash refund within 14 days. Also a lot very truthful negative reviews have been left on trustpilot about the disgusting service and now positive reviews have started popping up. Probably from the call centre staff in India as they have closed their london office and sealed the letterbox so they cannot receive post. So they can claim to be oblivious of the letters about court proceedings they will be receiving. Disgraceful, disgusting, awful company. This was the first time ive booked with them and it will most certainly be the last. (if they survive after this)
