“I and many other hundreds of other angry customers of a UK Leicester based energy supply company ( for the purpose of this review I will simply refer to them as the “Foxes”) have recently been posting our bad experiences and valid criticisms on their Trustpilot site ......at least we have been attempting to !! We have now reached the ludicrous position whereby very many ( in fact in recent days, most ) of the critical reviews are being almost instantly redacted by Trustpilot because THEIR CUSTOMER ie. the energy company that pays them, do not like the criticisms and cannot/will not accept the truth. By contrast the energy Company is allowed to make the most outrageous, gratuitous, condescending and downright dishonest comments when replying to our 1* posts and yet we, the reviewers can do nothing about it. In addition a large number of clearly spurious ( and probably sponsored ) 5* reviews are allowed to go unchallenged by TRUSTPILOT. In our case the only good thing that has come out of this situation is that our experience of the Trustpilot site ( and the lamentably poor performance of both the energy company , AND TRUSTPILOT ) encouraged us to set up our own “Foxes Discussion Group” on Facebook. We quickly obtained a membership of over 1200 disgruntled “Fox” customers and are now successfully able to share our experiences and mutual support without the unhelpful interference of Trustpilot’s paid moderators. I am not even sure that TRUSTPILOT really appears to value those of us who post reviews. Yes, they are actually paid by the Company which is being reviewed, in our case the “Fox”; however, without unpaid reviewers such as us they would not have a business. In the light of my own recent experience I would advise that you use the Trustpilot site purely for your own advantage...... as they appear to use us !”

“Thomas Cook Wellington Street Ballymena Cancelled our hotel the day before we where due to fly,they said Constantantious The Great wasn't up to standard for the money we paid.offered The Odessa which had a hotel in front of it .We where never offered a refund .Made to pay an additional £180.00 I believe total was £2,421 ended in a grubby Golden Coast Beach hotel in Protaras far from 5* we booked went to Constantious The Great after 4 days so frustated with this Company ,contact Connect in Manchester the lady on the phone said they should never have taken the booking,Laura in Ballymena branch stated that the hotel HAD BEEN NEWLY REFURBISHED IN FEBRUARY 5 WEEKS PRIOR TO MY BOOKING .So WHY DID THEY CANCEL HOTEL.In my option they are obviously advertising lovely hotels taking our hard earned money and giving us what i would consider a a 3* hotel explained that we spoke to the head reception manager we viewed the room .The room was amazing albeit the hotel need some finishing touches.JET 2 CUSTOMERS GOT THE CHOICE WHERE UPGRADE TO SEAVIEW AND ALL INCLUSIVE.NOW OFFERING US £250.00 COMPENSATION .WHAT ABOUT THE £180.00 and some real compensation for ruining our 25 WEDDING ANNIVERSARY???? DON'T BOOK THOMAS COOK”

“Tried to post a negative review about Patpat (poor quality clothing that didn’t fit and weren’t as advertised). Trust pilot requires either Facebook or google verification, I chose the former and their site says it requires only your picture and name but I believe that because I clicked off option for their site to obtain my friends list it did not allow me to post my review.”

“Trustpilot removes reviews due to pressure from businesses. I had a business harassing me for leaving a negative review and Trustpilot requested that I give my personal information to the company that was *harassing* me to verify my review. When I complained that the company was offering gifts to people who left "five star reviews" on Trustpilot, that complaint was also removed. Trustpilot is just a scam to legitimize other scammy companies.”

“Trustpilot refuses to stop contact our business. They call every week. Every week we ask them to stop calling. What happens? They call again the next week. Even if I were going to consider doing business with them, why would I work with a reputation management company that has a 1 star average online? Work on your own damn reputation and stop calling companies unsolicited.”

“A lot of people are being scammed by relying on Trustpilot reviews. Take CCX Capital and GFC INvestments as examples. CCX Capital disappeared without a trace taking £millions of investors money. Each time anyone placed a negative review, the company asked Trustpilot to take it down for one reason or another, which Trustpilot did. GFC Investments have lots of negative reviews but if you look at most of them, they are people advertising fake services to help recover your money from a scam company, at a cost. Truspilot ignores that they put up their email addresses and phone numbers”

“Wrote a legitimate bad review on a company, Trustpilot decided they didn’t like it and because the company the review was made about wasn’t happy with a negative review, they deleted ALL our reviews gold & bad from our profile. Went to review another company just now, and Trustpilot has automatically taken it down. This site is a scam. It does not reflect the honest reviews that should be allowed to post. Used to think it was a valued outlet, now can see they’re nothing but scammers themselves and not a legitimate company either. They’ve taken away people’s basic human rights to have a voice, an opinion, and divulge the truth to others (good & bad). Trading Standards are already invoked on the bad experience with the company in question, now we have to let them know that Trustpilot is a scam too. Don’t bother wasting your time writing anything as they’re selective to say the least.”

“Who can you trust these days? You complain about a bad experience with a company that is defrauding people, the owner of the business reports our review and we end up having our reviews removed for breaching the trustpilot rules. We can’t say we’ve been defrauded, we can’t use the owner’s name... then the owner goes there and places fake positive reviews and no one from trustpilot cares. I just wanted to speak with someone that cares. We are trying to do the right thing and trustpilot should be trustworthy and efficient. They don’t seem to want to do their job!”

“De har slæbt en ny iværksætter i retten Så starter krigen og det ikke mig der skyldig. Jeg er et lille nystartet firma og har ikke så mange penge . Jeg fik vildledende oplysninger fra start af. blev aldrig oplyst om deres Free plan . Men derimod fik jeg en bon på 30.000kr Penge jeg ikke havde . Og var ved at konkurs begære mig selv i frygt for de tager mit hus og alt hvad jeg har. Nu slæber de mig hele vejen i retten . I kan finde mig via mit firma navn Jensitech. Og jeg hedder Simon så kan i gætte jer til min mail. Jeg opfordre alle til at boycotte det falske medie som trustpilot er blevet . Tænk at et dansk firma dræber små iværsætter virkomheder på den måde her . Sagen er Fremlagt for Politiken og kontanten . Så fra nu af venter jeg bare på mere kød på sagen . . Tak For jeres tid . Og håbet om at ny startede firmaer ikke kvajer sig som jeg gjorde . Plus at de sletter de dårlige anmeldelser fra deres side. Det er i modstrid med loven.”

“When I complained about bad service of booking company - extra charge for baggage - not mentioned at all at the time of booking - TRUSTPILOT has removed my review as it was hurting "TRUSTED company" ....Seems that it is a very bad site - and that they get paid by companies to keep them high ranked”

“Trust Pilot seem to be unable to prevent companies from a total GUNG HO approach in reporting in order to remove reports they don’t like, check out OutFox the Market, on a daily basis they are report a vast proportion of negative reviews. The other thing is it does not Appear to respond to reviews for their own company. Your ratings are not a great example to present to prospecting customers.”

“Be aware - There is no option to downgrade your plan as your business changes. I feel taken advantage of after having been made to sign a 1 year contract for review services. Even with our business struggling due to the economic downturn, they say it doesn't matter to them. You'd think they'd at least let you downgrade your service and keep a good customer for life. At the end of my 1 year contract I'm not giving them any more money.”
