Don't know where to start. Iv had problems since taking over a property supplied by utilita. Don't know how they are allowed to operate and get away with it. All the problems are endless and very stressful. Still ongoing after 2years. Don't use. I'm changing supplier. Have tried before but yet again utilita didn't register my smart meter so couldn't change. Nightmare!

Rep came to the door. Tried his hardest to push the fact that I would be saving £100+ a year. As I was in a rush and wasn't paying 100% attention I agreed to switch, not knowing how bad all the reviews were. 2 days later I decided to call and cancel the switch and oh my days! To get through to anyone you have to jump through so many hoops! No proper cancellation option so you get put through to an agent who tries their best to get you to stay. The first lady was pretty rude, didn't seem to want to know and transferred me to a different agent who pretty much hung up ( I'd been on hold to get to that point for 45 mins!). The 2nd agent, after calling again and being on hold for almost an hour, didn't seem to understand why I wouldn't want to save £80 a year and reluctantly put me through to another agent and lo and behold, got cut off again. After ringing again I managed to get through to an agent who did not seem surprised I'd been duped into taking the switch. Thankfully she managed to cancel without another transfer to a dead line. Awful customer service, dread to think how bad it would be if I had of switched properly! Avoid at all costs , and if a rep turns up please don't agree so they shut up and go away. It isn't worth the hassle of trying to cancel. I'm hoping that it actually is cancelled but will be ringing Octopus energy to make sure they know I won't be switching!

Can't top up meter by app. Always have problem with meter. No one like top up this 💳. Sitting in dark without power 2 days. Nightmare

I had someone from this company knock at my door yesterday, upon asking who is it? He said: inam from your electric company, as I was looking through the peephole, he was leaning very close to my door, so I asked him which company is that? & He said: Utilatia! I said that's not my company but as I had just switched energy suppliers, I thought maybe that's their umbrella company or sth. So I let him in, & he said we're changing your prepay meters to smart meters FOR FREE! I didn't know this but Without even knowing it, I had most signed up to them. So I started questioning him & at the end found, he was trucking me into signing up without knowing OR BEING TOLD I'm switching! After much discussion, asking him what is your prices, he told me: funnily I can't tell you the prices , but why are you so picky? Just switch, you'll save loads of money...he used a lot of tricks which I won't bore you with. This company is a scammer & I agree with previous reviewer, the SNEAKIEST sociopathic tactics I've ever seen. I didn't expect this in this country. I WILL NEVER SWITCH TO THEM & WILL ADVISE PEOPLE TO NOT TRUST THEM. IF THATS HOW THEY'RE TRYING TO TRICK PEOPLE TO SWITCH.

Rudest, sneakiest company I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. The way they bill is so confusing that you have no idea what you're paying for - I have at least 4 different bills for each month over the last 2 years, all for different amounts! I was moved over to them automatically from Eversmart and everything I've queried just gets blamed on Eversmart. And they never want to help you with any queries, you have to chase and chase them for any replies on anything. I'm not 100% convinced they accept proper meter readings but prefer to run your bills off estimates as I submit them every month but on my bills it's always against estimates. The one time in 2 years they actually sent someone round to take a meter reading they rejected it as they decided it was wrong compared to their estimates meaning my bills spiraled out of control without me having a clue. I ended up with a massive bill I had to pay in one and the jobsworth I spoke to on the phone to resolve it could only obviously read off a script as she wasted ages of my time repeating the same irrelevant thing over and over again before actually explaining how to solve the issue. And she was so rude, I can't believe people like that are able to get customer facing jobs. If you're considering Utilita PLEASE DO NOT - go with someone legit!!!

Today our meter run out and my partner suffering with COVID had misplaced the key. The electricity went out at 11:15. Was told at first that i needed to locate a local shop to supply a new key fob. My sister in law spent 2 hours to no avail so I contact them back to explain. They then agreed to send out an engineer to change to a smart meter and as a priority customer was told 3 hours. 3 hours went by and no engineer. Called them back. Told the call had been cancelled as there was a COVID case at the address. ( bare in mind I explained the electrical cabinet is outside the front of the property and requires no person from inside the house to come into contact). Then told they had re booked and would be 3 hours. 3 hours go by. Chase again and told the engineer will be 30 minutes by a rather ride customer service agent. 1 hour goes by and chased. Told “Victor” is at the address ( I had been sitting at the front up stairs window for 2 hours and hadn’t seen a single van ). Then told “Victor” can’t find the address. I live on a street of around 60 houses to which ours, Number 1 is rather easy to find. Then told he will call me as can’t find the address. 20 minutes later no phone call. Called back to be addressed by an extremely rude agent telling me to wait he will be there soon. I explain multiple times that 20 minutes ago this “Victor” says he’s outside the property and your telling me he will be there by 10pm. The roads 100yds long. A snail could find this house in that time. Then after spending 15 minutes arguing with me he then explains that “Victor” was not happy doing the job because of Covid but had been to the property. Again lies. Then got placed on hold whilst being told they again can’t do anything. I have 4 young children and a fresh food delivery all experience electricity. I then get a call whilst on hold from the same number so I answer. All of a sudden I get a call from the office in the UK as their supervisor has asked them to call. I am assuming as I had threatened to take action they thought they’d try sweeten me up. They still were unable to offer any solution other than we will book you an appointment for tomorrow morning but can’t guarantee a time. So a priority customer due to having young children has been let down. Nothing but lies and deceit all day. Wasted time, lost income , a days lost education for my children, now no food in the house other than bread that’s edible. On the last call they said if I found a key they can give me a code. I wasn’t told to keep trying this earlier but this gentleman thought at 21:45 it be a good time to tell me to try looking further afield. Why they couldn’t of told me that earlier and told me no engineer was coming I could of sorted what should of been a simple solution. So sister in law out of bed, an hour round trip to another town and we have power. Got to be by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. The lies, the deceit, the clear lack of care of a young family in need.

Worst utility company ever. They've sent me THREE final bills, I have paid everything regularly and yet they still hound me for made-up bills. So expensive that I haven't had the heating or hot water since November. Still harassing me. I don't think I'll ever be free of them even though I switched supplier 3 months ago. Robbing incompetent idiots all of them.

I was with Utilita 3 years ago and today received a email from a debt collection company. Upon contacting them they claimed that I owed Utilita £60 and hadn’t paid my gas bill from March - September 2028! After ringing Utilita and being passed from department to department they finally claimed that my electricity was a pre payment but my gas wasn’t and that they had tried to contact me through letters and emails several times and I had ignored them. Upon checking my emails and my junk mails I found no emails from them regarding any unpaid bill and in fact discovered receipts from gas and electric pre payment from the dates they claim I didn’t pay! Avoid this company at all costs they are obviously creating a scam to rob previous customers

Avoid like the plague! I had Utilita in my old flat that I moved out of 2 YEARS AGO - I contacted Utilita 2 weeks before moving out to let them know I’m leaving, again a week before, again the week of, again 2 weeks after and again a month after as no one ever got back to me! Now, 2 years later I have received a notification from a debt agency due to Utilitas incompetence! It’s absolutely impossible to speak to someone when you call as the call queues are so long and every advisor you speak to transfers you to a “different team” that never answers. I am not letting them get away with this, I’ll be taking this further. Do not use this company!

Absolutely appalling service I advise anyone not to change over these I topped up my electric card only for the credit to go to my gas which I didn’t need but needed electric so had to get a loan for my electric as I had no money left to top up again but they then said it was my fault even though they sent me the card numbers not to mention my friend had to pay 55 pound to get her supply back on even though she only had a washer and tele in the property she had just moved in they said she had spent 30 pound in one day when she wasn’t even in the property for 12 hours that day avoid this supplier like the plague.

My mum died and had over £700 in credit with utilita,getting this money back has been a absolute nightmare,they have avoided as much as they can to pay this money back. My recomendation to anyone thinking of going with Utilita is DONT DO IT

TOTALLY USELESS TOLD A MONTH AGO METERS NEEDED UPDATING TO SMET 2 PAYG (CALL RECORDED)B4 I COULD SWITCH GOT METERS UPGRADED TO SMET 2 MYSELF THEN WENT TO SWITCH AND WAS TOLD WE CANT DO SMET 2 PAYG METERS YET TOTAL WASTE OF TIME BY INCOMPETANT USELESS STAFF

There isn't any customer service at all. On the rare occasions you do get a response, it is total hassle and expense. Usually you get ignored or accused of causing problems. The problems have continued for years and zero is done by the authorities to deal with the concerns of customers and to stop it happening. All the energy companies are a problem - big and small.

My mum died and Utilita wanted a copy of documentation of signing mums council property back to the council to get money back my mum was in credit. I have had no such problems with all other companies. (Water,tv licence),they did not want any information like this,what has it got to do with Utilita if my mum owned the house or rented it,she paid the money in to them not the council.I do NOT recommend anyone going with Utilita. I set mum up with the account with Utilita,but what a big mistake I made

Took £70 even though my switch didnt go through and still with my last supplier. Told them this left me destitute n I'd just lost my job. Promised a refund considering I've not even signed up. Waited months and they not interested. Fake company needs shutting down

Disgusting company..They blocked my attempts to change provider THREE times. Every time I called them the so called customer services, I couldn't believe how rude those people were. Glad to say ombudsman service sorted my problem out. Now I await the written apology and a small compensation cheque. AVOID UTILITA AT ALL COSTS

Clowns Been experiencing issues since day 1, waited over 6 months to get the in-home display which also turned out to be a fraud as it doesn't connect to the smart meter. Every time I experienced issues I had to contact them several times to get it resolved, the few times it has been resolved. Lots of trouble, definitely not worth it!

I would avoid this company with a barge pole. We were able to eventually switch from utility to a more responsible company, and we are in the process of switching our elderly parents. The usage & bills just never tally.

Take my money and tell me the transaction has failed. No top up received on the smart meter/app and then tell me to use the emergency credit! Absolute disgrace of a company! Customer service was useless and kept suggesting I put myself in debt instead of fixing the situation!
