“Dodgy company that will not pay out on any claim and will find any excuse under the sun to avoid paying.
Do not get a warranty with this company!
Absolute scum bags the lot of them, anyone who works there should be ashamed of themselves.”
“If you could score 0, you would. No advice or direction on where to take your car - ‘just a VAT registered garage, pay the diagnostic and let us know the issues to process authorisations’.
Sounds easy, but they don’t advise they’ll only cover the cost of parts up to the value of the cheapest thing they can find online through every channel - don’t expect manufacturer spec parts. They also don’t mention they pay a labour rate of £40+VAT per hour… no garage in the last 20 years has been that cheap?? Their contribution offering came to 1/4 of the value of what I pay for the warranty, so it’s not value for money at all.
Better off getting a quote of what their warranty would be and then saving it in case you need it, because they wouldn’t do anything for you.
I’d argue their positive reviews are fake reading some of these other reviews.”
“Would give zero if possible had a claim with them and all they willing to pay didn't even cover cost of the parts when received breakdown of there costings they had priced the part at under half the possible price to get it I even spoke with multiple garages that said you can't get the part at that price unless second hand”
“This is the warranty Co used by Big Motoring World.
I have a 12month warranty and an electrical/mechanical fault and an ongoing claim 42015887.I have obtained a quote to fix the engine fault code issue at £879 - warranty assist ( for Big Motoring World ) have so far offered me £325 less .
The explanation given is the warranty only covers the faulty components not the labour / work necessary to fix the issue .if this remains their position I would suggest avoiding the warranty at purchase which cost me £780 !”
“Would give 0 stars if I could. The company have tried to tell me there are labour limitations for cost and time, however it is no where on their policy wording and customer service also confirmed it doesn't state it, but 'that's what it is'. If it is not worded on a contract, the limitation does not exist.
In the process of taking to financial ombudsman as they have broken their contractual agreement and advise anyone else who has the same issue to do the same.”
“Paid £1750 for the extra warranty when purchasing my car from Big Motoring World. Starter motor broke and they have only agreed to £114 which doesn’t even cover the part let alone the labour”
“Do not bother was told they cover the clutch and flywheel . After a month of chasing them I've now been told they aren't going to pay out for it so now I've got a nice 1400 bill do not waste your time on these scammers”
“If you're thinking about buying a car from Big Motoring World, I highly recommend avoiding their extended warranty. I had to wait six months just to get a claim processed—definitely not worth the added stress. Save your time and money by steering clear of it.”
“My warranty claim was rejected because it cost too much. This is actual words from the customer service. It's meant to cover upto full value of the car. Nope warranty from these turned out to be worthless. Be warned do not waste ur money.”
“They are the worst people on earth, they are scammers, they take ages to answer the phone, they never send emails on time and they don't like paying stay away.”
“I bought a car and took out Warranties 2000, car bought 17th April 2024 broke down on 27th April 2024.
The AA found the problem and it was the gear change linkage popped out so they patched it up and followed me to the garage, it was the weekend and the garage was closed, so had to go back to the garage on the Monday. I rang Warranties 2000 it took me all day to get them to answer and they said they didn't have a policy in my name, I rang the company who i had bought the policy and told they did have one however they would contact them first thing in the morning as they were now closed. i had to hire a car to get me to and from work. On the Tuesday i received the quote to get my car fixed via email £425, had no luck contacting Warranties 2000 as no answer so emailed them with a copy of the quote. Attempted to call them on the wednesday finally got through to be told that it wasn't covered under the gold warranty cover. I disputed this and said that i was not very happy with the service i was receiving and i wanted an explanation as to why it wasn't covered and was told that it would be looked into and somebody would call me back, guess what no call back and no one answering my calls or emails. AVOID WITH ALL COSTS, NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE OR MONEY”
“I'm waiting for my car to be repaired for over 1 month. Warranty 2000 simply delay approving my claim with one reason. Last time, they told me over the phone that they were too busy...
After reading other reviews, I realised this is not the first case, they are simply waiting for my to give up and pay myself.”
“Garbage - took my car to the garage with something they should have covered, told them it was in and they refused to pay out on it. Needed the car for work so had to pay it, still don’t have it back. Waste of space.”
“Total crooks, I have a car from a customer with this companies warranty gave rough cost for repair and was told to "crack & get it fixed " after vehicle was repair and invoice they decided they were not paying, sent a recording of the tele conversation and still have left customer high & dry. This hole used car warranty require to be legislated in law courts as there people being ripped off by this company and many others. DO NOT USED THIS COMPANY THEY ARE LIARS & CHEATS”
“DON’T FALL FOR IT! 0 stars if I could. Same experience as everyone else and personally feel stupid for falling for their scam:
- Sold the 3 year extended warranty (£1600) by sales and told it covers "everything under the hood", is "hassle free" and not told there is an excess (£75) or that breakdown cover only lasts 12 months or that only cover labour up to £75/hr
- They don't give you the policy wording at time of purchases. It was emailed to me after I disputed them not paying a claim. It is riddled with exclusions.
- Claiming is a pain - the app is utterly useless, it just directs you to a local garage to call. You have to call BigAssist and they tell you to email Waranties 2000 the quote from garage to get the claim processed. Claim processing takes forever and you have to chase them to get an answer.
After 2 months of having my car from Big Motoring World the engine light came on an cat converter needs replacing. Warranty doesn't cover any diagnostic fees (approx. £200 total). The cost to fix is £1000 and big assist have authorised only £300 - £150 for labour and a messily £150 for an aftermarket cat converter. The ford dealer mechanic said this was outrageous and even if you did go for aftermarket (they don’t advise to) you’d never find one at that price point.
This warranty is a con. If I had my time again, I would decline the warranty, bank my hard earned cash in a saving account, and keep it for when you need the repairs. If you buy the warranty you will easily be out of pocket and never recoup the money.”
“We’re do I start. First of all look at the reviews that’s speaks for its self. But they never asw the phone and they choose what is covered on your car. I have never use a company that is so rude and unreliable I will never use them against and most def will be reporting to trading standers as it’s not normal”
“My Land Rover Freelander 2 was purchased from a garage and was bought including a 3 month Gold Warranty from Warranties2000. Basically after 100 miles the warning lights on the dashboard were displaying "Terrain Response not Operating" and "ABS disabled" messages. W etook the car into our local garage who diagnosed N/S/F ABS Sensor and MAP Sensor faults.
They also ran the vehicle up to speed on their ramp and found an excessive noise from the PTU which requires replacement with a re-manufactured PTU unit and sleeve. I contacted Warranties2000 who after protracted discussions basically advised that none of the faults were covered by the Gold Warranty, despite the warranty stating that Diffs were covered! They basically said to me that their warranties exclude everything and anything caused by wear! There exact wording was "As stated previously the warranty coverage does not afford protection to any item where the proximate cause of failure is wear. This forms part of our standard terms and conditions which are applicable regardless of the individual vehicles age/ mileage." My response was "On a 14 year old car surely it would be wear that causes problems on virtually all parts, and all this despite the small print stating Diffs were covered on the Gold Covered warranty that came with the car. Surely that is the point of buying a Gold level warranty, - to give the customer peace of mind that a part that is worn and has reached the end of its life would be replaced. On a 14 year old car what part is going to fail that is not due to wear? On your basis you would not pay out on any component and really the warranty is worthless and certainly does not give me as a customer any peace of mind at all."
The further response from Warranties 2000 stated "wear will be present when buying a used vehicle which eventually necessitates the replacement of components. The warranty agreement doesn't protect you for this."
My subsequent response was "I’d like to know what items are covered by your Gold warranty that are not related to wear on a 14 year old car as pretty much everything and anything could be argued to be caused by wear!!
It’s scandalous that a warranty company sell a Gold warranty for an older car but excludes everything and anything related to wear. This is disingenuous and misleading for customers, it is little wonder that your customer ratings are so poor."
Warranties2000 then offered as a "goodwill gesture" a replacement second hand (not reconditioned or re-manufatured) rear Diff. I was obviously not going to get a garage to fit a second hand part with no providence/history and that could have been even worse than the Diff that was coming off the Freelander. Warranties 2000 then offered £350 as an offset instead of the Diff they would have sent.
I am wring this to warn people thinking of buying a warranty from them that the warranty excludes wear - which in my view on any car that is outside the factory warranty period, most issues are likely caused by wear, so please be very cautious. Warrantyies 2000 also have in their small print notices stating their maximum liability is limited to £1000 and they only pay for up to £45per hour in labour charges, which is pretty much half the current labour rates charged by most garages. Basically, for me the Warranty was not worth the paper it was written on. BEWARE!”
“I purchased this warranty when I purchased my fiesta eco boost. I made a claim in April against the warranty. Today I received confirmation they will not pay for the repairs. It appears i purchased expensive breakdown recovery. Please steer clear of this company. They take your money, don’t reply to any emails. You have been warned”
“As a garage owner I can say without exception we will no longer carry out work on or behalf or for this compony or there customers. 1 of the worst attitudes in the business terrible manner awfull attitude shocking payment times don't give the correct information or email address. Then have the cheek to turn around and say we'll its not your money it dosnt cost you. We'll I'm afraid it does we have wages and bills to pay. Absolute disgrace I advise any garage to stay well clear of anything to do with this company. And as for your customers good luck finding a garage that will do the work. Another point they don't pay full labour and the Customer is stuck footing the bill 40 a hour max 🙄 well sorry but peaples wages and bills have moved on from 10 years ago infact that was the labour rate 15 years back absolutely disgraceful compony. Then the woman on the phone put the phone down when we stated its our business and our money she's referring to”
