23 months ago we made the biggest mistake possible and ordered a Wickes Kitchen! The fitters, Andrew Cooper and Andrew Smith of Cooper Joinery in Weymouth were supplied by Wickes. They turned up when they felt like it, left our house and especially the kitchen in an unusable state for over 3 weeks. The workmanship was amateurish. They damaged our property! Tiled up to a door so it wouldn't open, I had to remove the door myself to get into the kitchen! We had 4 pages (A4) of issues! They lied and were threatening and abusive when I refused to sign their "completion" paperwork They were also Fraudulent! I have evidence!! Wickes's Customer Service were absolutely useless!! They lie, break promises and deliberately make matters worse!! The Wickes Installation Manager, Mark Bond, turned up smelling of Alcohol and could see no problems (despite the 4 pages of A4 listing the faults), probably due to blurred vision! He accused me of assaulting the Wickes electrician. Then told someone that he lied!! He is renowned for bullying and threatening customers who complain! Again I have evidence!! The Wickes Regional Manager agreed there were significant issues! Yet it took months to get some of them addressed. I had to constantly chase as contact was pretty much 1 way!! We are still left with major issues which Wickes fail to deal with!! The designer, Mark James, came and was apologetic for the poor workmanship, yet did NOTHING!! He said Customer Services would sort it out!! Mind you he wasn't capable of checking whether the kitchen was square!!! I had to show him how to do it, basic maths, but then he is a kitchen designer so probably measuring and maths are not his speciality!!! We had taken out "Interest free credit", yet despite us NOT signing any completion paperwork because it was incorrect, incomplete and Fraudulently completed by the fitters, Wickes notified Hitachi Finance we had and were satisfied with the kitchen!!! We have STILL NOT signed any paperwork, yet have had to pay for a totally abysmal Kitchen installation. I wrote on 2 occasions to the Head of Customer Services and received no reply from him. I wrote to Wickes CEO who forwarded the letter to one of the people I was complaining about!!! DO NOT USE Wickes!! I, and hundreds of other people have had poor Kitchen Installations, and cannot get satisfaction! Wickes Customer Service is atrocious and also Fraudulent!! Don't buy a kitchen from Wickes!!! Wickes give you "Housebarrassment" not get rid of it!!!

How I wish I had read these reviews before I opted for a Wicks kitchen! People please beware! You do have to add extra for plumbing and electrician I also had to pay an extra £100 as the original plan overlooked a cupboard was slap bang on top of a telephone box on the wall. My installer was amazing but afterwards bits of the edging on the work top flaked off. I was told it was due to heavy impact? It wasn’t it just flaked off! A mend was done but it looked bad., a further bit flaked off, then I was told out of a ‘gesture of good will’ they would replace the top BUT I would have to incur the cost of the installation which would involve the sink, oven and tiles being involved, running into £100’s. all that needed replacing was the edging. My kitchen I may add was fitted 19th December 2019 so very new for this fault to occur. I was told the 10 year warranty does NOT cover this?! I bought this kitchen with money my late parents left me, I am 61, on my own and have been left to feel helpless and let down by Wicks and a product they indorse and happily sell to unassuming customers and for not giving the true picture of what they promote.

Had a kitchen supplied and fitted by Wickes in Aug 2018. The fitting costs I was quoted actually more than doubled when they added on the electrician costs etc. Never again The designer drew up plans which my husband looked over and changed obvious things that you’d think the designer would have realised. The kitchen fitter disappointed us with some of his work ie the backsplash having a visible join. All in all I would not recommend Wickes to design your kitchen or fit it. You can get similar kitchens cheaper and have the kitchen fitted at a fraction of the price.

Was sold a defective product by the Hertford store. Took it back and the manager was very rude and refused to take it back. She told me I would have to contact their customer service department. I did, they were useless also. Told me a pack of lies, which I caught them out on. They then said the store would contact me within a week to sort out. That was a month ago! Disgraceful service. I will never use Wickes again and to be honest I'm surprised they are still in business. Avoid at all costs! As a footnote I returned said defective item as directed by customer service. I left it on a shelf for them to dispose of.

Absolutely DIABOLICAL customer service! This is NOT the first time I've been totally stitched up by Wickes and left high and dry and unable to get on with a job. I'm now left out of pocket whilst they attempt poorly, to get my money from their obviously USELESS and incapable supplier. Which just isn't good enough when I can't afford to buy the mateirals elsewhere til they give me my money back. I'm the 21st century it does NOT take days and days to give someone a full refund for failed delivery or supply of goods. I'm now facing leaving my customer up sh*t creek and, I now stand to lose out on nearly £1000 in income because they (rightly so) don't want to be waiting another week. Seeing as I was meant to have the materials last week! I hate letting people down, and now Wickes is making me look like I'm as incompetent and rubbish at customer care as they are. Frankly angry. And if my money is not returned to my account by this Thursday, I'll be aure to go to trading standards and also take legal action both for theft of my money, and for loss of earnings too.

Poor quality control on kitchen units. Purchased some cream off the shelf units and when assembling, one of the doors was white not cream. Returned to store to be told its now out of stock and given a refund. Then basically told it’s not their problem and I have to go and find another store that may stock it still. Poor customer service when calling and offered the same solution. I now have a kitchen I can’t finish. Have used Wickes for a number of years but won’t be again after this experience.

Anybody thinking of using Wickes please don’t. They are one of the worst companies I have ever used and boy do I regret it. My parents passed away and I got left some money which I used to replace my kitchen - worst mistake I ever made. Mastic plastered over floor sagging units, wonky cupboards, white cupboards turning yellow AGAIN incorrect electrics fitted dripping taps please avoid!!

Very poor experience. Paid in Oct 2019 for a bathroom installation to be done in January 2020. The fitter cancelled by text the day he was meant to start. They offered me another date six months after I'd paid for it! It took another month and a lot of chasing to get my money back. Hopelessly inept. Avoid!!!

I ordered 55 sq m tiles , half way through the pallet they changed colour . I rang and rang customer service and the said they were on to it . It’s now 2 weeks and I havnt had any help even tho I ring everyday . They lied and said they emailed every shop within 60 miles . I went to all Wickes within 60 miles and found them myself and asked for the manager at every one and none knew anything about it

AVOID Do yourself a favour and don't use Wickes for your kitchen unless you enjoy months of stress and dealing with a customer no service department who really don't care. Once they've got your money they are not interested. I'm absolutely disgusted with them, thought they were a reputable company, but they are by far the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. You would think when you spend 12k with a company they would look after you, but no.

Avoid this shambolic company like coronavirus. I spent 20 grand with these charlatans, only to have problem after problem their customer services department are a complete shambles and if they had any self-respect they'd all resign en masse today. Choose any other company.

The cistern which they installed has started overflowing so called a plumber to repair it. He was unable to do so because they had put a work top over it so its impossible to access the inside of the cistern without removing the work top. The plumber was amazed that the bathroom was designed in such a way that there isn’t access because cisterns almost invariably develop faults at some time or other. l now have quotes for several hundred pounds to rectify the design fault for which should have only been a fifty pound job. ln addition to the inconvenience of the dismantling of the bathroom. The designer, whoever it was should go back to the drawing board, and learn to consider this type of fault. Beware of using Wickes . I certainly won’t use them again. I am fortunate that I have discovered their standard now because l was considering using them to do our kitchen.

Why do the installers leave work unfinished seems to be a common theme here. No pride in their work and just want the money leaving customers to deal with issues. Awful service and the stores don't seem to care much either.

I had a bathroom fitted through Wickes. I mistakenly assumed that this would help me avoid the hassle of dealing with independent tradesmen - I was mistaken. The Wickes bathroom hardware, and planning process, was fine. Actually getting the install completed was hard work. Despite a 40 minute survey, the fitters missed several key features of my house that had a significant impact on the end design. Additional works agreed with the fitters (install of lighting, removal of old brickwork) were not completed - I kept prompting on these but in the end, they just said "we forgot, you'll have to sort it out yourself". The bathroom fitters had agreed a fresh plaster finish on my walls, but in the end, they cut corners and just used polyfiller instead. I ended up having to sand all the walls flat myself, and I'm left with a poor finish which they weren't interested in resolving. The fitters removed half my existing skirting boards, but didn't fit any replacements, so I've had to sort this out myself. Despite burying all the new pipework in the walls, the pipework for my towel rail is a real mess, again the fitters didn't seem to take any pride in this work. My shower screen has been fitted backwards (so the hydrophobic coating is facing outwards, not into the shower). They've even left the sticker attached to show this! Trying to get the fitters back to resolve these issues has been a major mission - they went off onto other jobs leaving me to finish it myself. I would have no problem buying bathroom hardware from Wickes in the future, but would not rely on them for arranging fitters. Find a local recommended firm instead.

Avoid wicks!! Customer service at wicks is practically non existent, kitchen they delivered 8 weeks ago, now will not deliver the rest of the kitchen because its limited stock, also brought some fence panels for next day delivery which arrived 5 days later, totally unhelpful staff at management and customer service level.

What is happening at Wickes Newport? The staff used to be so helpful and friendly. No barcode on an item at the weekend and was impolitely told at the till I had better get another one then. Today all the grinding discs are padlocked on the display. After waiting ages to be served I was told they had lost the keys. Why not put a notice up advising customers. I appreciate the store is undergoing a refit but a customer greeting, eye contact and a smile wouldn't go amiss. I drove a few extra miles to Toolstation for my items. Wonderful service and goodbye Wickes you miserable lot.

Kitchen parts were delivered but some were damaged, they said I had to return them to store myself. On returning they say wait for a month for a refund?! The company they use for worktops came out and fitted, had to come back again, lots of being messed around trying to get it sorted and was promised they would use the leftover pieces to make a windowsill for me instead which to this day is still leaning in my living room because it’s not cut the right size and the company refused to come back and put it to the right size which were supposed to be the compensation for the original mess up unless I was to pay about £150 for the job of someone chopping the end of a piece of quartz worktop and glueing it. Ridiculous. They have absolutely no interest in customer service once I’ve got your money they do not care. There is an entire Facebook group I urge you to check in to dedicated to people trying to get their work finished after this company has fraudulently signed off work as complete so that they can get the finance company to pay them it’s absolutely ridiculous and I shall see them going into administration very soon if they aren’t careful unfortunately that will leave a lot of customers in an even worse position than they find themselves in now. They hire outside teams for the cheapest amounts to install kitchens for two or three times the cost that it should be and have no interest in whether the job is done well. Pretty much all of the stock comes from benchmarx anyway which means you could get an independent builder to do exactly that job without the additional pricetag and with someone actually giving a damn.
