“If I could give zero stars I would If I could give zero stars I would. After I read that every product is being checked by the catawiki staff, I bought a sealed lorcana sealed first chapter booster display. When the package arrived, I got supicious directly after opening it. It was clearly tempered with. Checking the shipping label, I could see that the shipping was 30 euros and not 45 euros as I paid for. While opening the box, I noticed that there were only 22 and not 24 packs inside the display. On top of that, the packs were opened and very badly closed again with glue. Big gaping holes still visible. Then I checked the packs and one pack that I opened did not even have 13 cards in it but 11 and in the wrong order as well. I videod all this and filed a claim. Lets see what their response it, but they definitly do not check what is being sold beforehand. I would probably never use their website again.”

“I am a painter and have tried to sell my oil paintings on Catawiki. I am professionally trained, graduated from fine art academy and have more than 20 years of experience. Found myself in a situation that I just needed to sell couple of paintings quickly to get some money and repair my budget. Submitted my work and guess what? all 3 of my paintings were rejected, and I was told by Catawiki "expert" that they could not accept them because their value is less than 100 EUR. What a joke! and when you check what some paintings they accept for auction you can tell right away at least half of them were painted by people who do not even know how to paint, and definitely were not professionally trained. They accept plenty of kitsch and reject art works being made by professional painters. I don't get it at all. Avoid if you can.”

“Had a watch delivered which lost a screw pin from the strap within a week. The response from the buyer was positive until it came to sending a replacement screw, then it was negative. Catawiki changed a negative post to a neutral post and refused to discuss the reasons why. They just want everyone to think its a genuine business when it's a scam.”

“Echoing many of the people's opinions on this scam of an auction site. I had three(!!!)watches refused to be put up for auction, for various reasons,including , basically them "experts" saying, that it's not worth the trouble, because they are worth 200$ or less. Or the watch mosses box and papers when the title,pictures and description literally states it comes as a full box!(See screenshots) The same experts that evaluate fake watches(and I can prove that with screenshots other) for hundreds of times thier worth. I asked other watch sellers around, they reckon it happened to them too. Shambles. Also, while bidding, the sellers either has bots that automatically outbid you, or they bid themselves from a fake account, created for the purpose, in order to inflate the final price as much as possible . It happened to me on multiple auctions, while bidding for various watches. It basically is a big fat lie, a scam, between dubious or/and high volume sellers and the so-called experts, that are nothing more than their commission driven puppets. In their world, everyone wins...except you, who is out of the deal, of course. Oh, by the way. The 3 watches they rejected? Two of them already sold, and the other one is on it's way(they rejected them a month ago, and they were posted on a different platform in the same time as theirs). So much for their expert view. Mark my words: Catawiki is going down(with a bang) in the next 2 to 3 years. Probably closed down for corruption charges and illegal interference with the market.”

“Never ever catawiki, they are writting transaction is safe, after this, I did not receive an item, they wrote, they payed with no control and they are not responsible, so they take responsibility, or stilling a money, because part is going to them, even item never show up. They are writting below, how they are sorry, but they don’t answer for my complaints. Don’t trust them, catawiki it is a scum.”

“Be very careful about buying from CATAWIKI .They dont give you an accurate valuation it way over the top .You are likely to be charges VAT and CUSTOMS .As the jewellery mostly comes from ISRAEL AND NOT VALUE FOR MONEY AS THE TELL YOU .So be careful much better sites to buy from with better Customer Service .”

“As a buyer you’re left unprotected when you buy from a high volume seller. The seller had left out description of damage on the item, had taken pictures from angles where the damage could not be seen and had made the object wet to get more vibrant colors. Furthermore, due to the damage it was actually visible that the object was fake. Seller was natural-art-minerals from Germany. Catawiki completely chooses buyer side, ignores my remarks and even removes the bad review on the seller’s request.”

“Bad behavior and management of the experts. It turns out that you buy something through them and after a while you decide to sell it and they do not accept it because they are not sure of the authenticity of the object, an object that they themselves valued at another time. You feel scammed, deceived, it is not a reliable platform and the customer service does nothing or very little. I do not recommend this sales platform and I have plenty of reasons.”

“And just wanted to express my opinion on this drama that has continued for over 2 months now. Your action surely protects only buyers. I'm sure if I would be not an honest buyer I could imitate the amp that is faulty and send the video that confirms this, it's so easy to fabricate such evidence I received. I don't even have any official repair service doc or quotation about the so-called repair. I just give up and agree to refund 100e because I need my money paid. Its a shame how you treat sellers. And you just keep a massive amount of cash in your pocket with no paying any interest. If I'm wrong please correct me. Regards”

“Ordered a lamp. It came shattered. Made the complaint in time, received nothing. The seller says is my problem and he is not gonna reimburse. I paid the price for the item, transportation, customer protection fee and got nothing in return, only pieces of glass. I had more than 40 orders, from which 6 were not the objects described or were damaged, but this was the last one. I had enough.”

“Catawiki just don't do refunds even when a seller agrees. This is made them break the trust with the customers. The seller first sold a watch which he should already knew that the watch doesn't work. He recommend me to replace the battery and the local workshop said that the repair fee will be as much as the watch. Then the seller promised to refund but nothing happens. This is catawiki's customer support reply for Order no. 36654871. I called the customer support and they said they will cancel the order but then they send an email completely different which was absolutely unhelpful and useless. " Dear Customer , Thank you for reaching out to us in regards to your purchase of the lot https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/ 80528531 . We're sorry to hear you've experienced issues with your purchase. Unfortunately and after reviewing your case we apoologize but it's not possible for us to fully support you in resolving this case. After delivery we give buyers 3 days to report any issues they might have, so that we can still hold on to their payments. After these three days the payment is released to the seller. As such we want to advise you to reach out to the seller directly in regards to the issues you've experienced with your lot. We recommend that you contact the seller in English. “I bought some Silver grain and coins, and got some fake silver. I opened a case but looks like after 1 mont, catawiki doesnt give a ****. so...alot of scams on catawiki as sellers and buyer protection from catawiki it's = 0. My story of how I lost 800euro...”

“I bought a watch, received but was not as described. The watch was rubbish. I wrote a complaint to the helpdesk. The helpdesk does not respond. The helpdesk is not interested in your problem and you will pay buyer protection fee for nothing.”

“Catawikibia disaster. No customer care at all but they charge everything. every fee. You can’t really and literally do nothing when things go wrong. They just don’t care. Bought some crappy watch from EU wanted money back - nothing, zero responsibility.”

“No refunds, no respons on complaint, they keep payments for days on end without responding on legit claims. Really bad service. Bought for 250,- vinyl, but the package from Greece was a disaster, no protection at all: money gone, no service, no respons at all. Never buy vinyl again on catawiki.”
