I made bad experiences as a buyer and a seller. As a buyer an item that I knew was genuine and had a flaw (seller mentioned a scratch at the bottom of the bag) was cancelled, I tried to contact VC that I do want the item, no reply, just that the order was cancelled due to non-compliant. I managed to buy the bag anyway on another site, same seller and I am very happy with it, VC was uncommunicative to the extreme. I thought it was a rare incident and risked selling my items, making sure I always describe each issue and try to take pictures of every small scratch and mark, you would think it helps, actually it didn't. A lot of items went through without a hitch, but then the odd person not reading descriptions cancelled, on top of it 2 items with direct shipping were swapped by the "buyer" for worthless items, and really nasty things were returned to me, trying to contact them about it did not work, the same automated answers. The shipping also lost one item, I had to jump through hoops and give them really sensitive confidential information, like a bank statement and my passport just so they would open an investigation with the carrier they forced on me. There are also a lot of problems with using the website, not all the features work, if they promise you a voucher, you have to use the app, given that the app also has a lot of problems (I once used it briefly and deleted it when I found out they track you everywhere). I seriously worry about giving confidential information to a company that can't even keep their website updated so it works and figured I rather not sell or buy through them as they seem to have no interest in any kind of customer service. From the replies I received from customer service, I am not sure if they didn't understand or didn't care, but they all seem to have access to your private information. We are living in a time where identity theft is a serious worry, I prefer to give such sensitive information to companies who maintain their sites, not with flashy ads but with having the features available for every user. I deleted my account because I simply don't trust them. I heard they raised millions, shame that they didn't invest the money in customer service or accessability.

What was a great idea and looked very promising has turned out to be a massive mess! Vestiaire does not support Macs, half the features don’t work, for example there is no chance to confirm the availability of your items, if they send you the “How did we do” again it does not work, their customer support seems to be robotic or extremely badly trained, giving you auto replies and trying to get you off chat asap. If you have a problem, you get auto replies. The direct shipping is open to all sort of frauds and Vestiaire does not care, the amount of users who put up an item and got a damaged item or another item back, and Vestiaire is not interested. Their quality check is super inconsistent, if you do mention minor flaws, the team does not read the description, you get your item back, they don’t really care for what they promise on the website. Apparently they managed to raise a lot of cash for the concept, and while I admit the concept is great, the execution is extremely poor. Listing an item and describing it takes a lot of time, you then will get harassed to sell cheaper and cheaper, then eventually your item, your item damaged, or a completely different item, will be returned to you. Why go through that pain? I know there are fraudsters on every site, but with Vestiaire, you know that you have no help at all from the website, you get auto replies that show they don’t even read what you wrote. Vestiaire could be a wonderful concept, the problem is “COULD BE” the reality is “IT IS NOT” The way it works is that you paid a lot for an item, wore it maybe once or twice, sometimes not at all and figured it is not for you, you put it on a website where you sell it cheaper than a used chain store product, you get spammed with lower your price (it seems to be a race to the bottom) emails, people with no money think they deserve a high end item for next to nothing and will pester you, when you sell eventually, you have 7 days to ship. Pretty often the shipping label doesn’t work, the shipping company loses the item, the buyer will damage or switch the item and demand a return. They promise to protect you but in reality they don’t. Brilliant idea, horrendous execution, best avoided. I am aware that every website has flaws, however Vestiaire seems to have nothing but flaws! A bit like the Halloween House - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK - but you can be sure to be burned. Spare yourself the pain, keep your items or give them to friends! Vestiaire has no interest in circular fashion, they are only interested in profit, at your expense, cheapest customer support (aka none) cheapest shipping... Compared to them eBay support is luxurious...

I opened an account about 2 months ago to get rid of some items, I received mails to confirm the availability of my items, but the link didn't work. I reached out to customer service repeatedly, explained that I am using the webpage via a Macintosh laptop and my browsers are Chrome and Firefox. I was told they checked it works, the items were deleted. This was repeated 3 times, out of roughly 50 items there was ONE left when I got the mail again, this happened in the space of roughly 2 months. I deleted my account today and seeing the experiences others have made, I am glad I did. At least I still have the clothes and can sell them elsewhere or give them away, but I do regret the time and effort I wasted, I should have put them on another site! Given the customer support I have received (which was basically no customer support at all) I think I consider myself lucky that I never sold anything with them.

I bought a pair of Prada boots from them, it was with express shipping (already with them, quality control done, listed by their conscierge service) so I got them fairly quickly which was great, only they didn’t fit, the shoes were listed as an EU size (Prada does both EU and Italian sizing) but came as an Italian size, I tried them on and they were much too big for me. Nice shoes but just way too big to ever fit. When I reached out to them I was finally told I could not return but relist them. I did and now the nightmare starts. 1st of all I sold them for a lot less. The buyer decided to use direct shipping so I packed the boots (never worn) and shipped to the buyer with DHL as the buyer was in France. 1st thing that made me wonder was that she didn’t pick them up, they were for a week waiting for pickup as she decided to have them shipped to a collection point. I only get paid after the buyer has them physically in her possession. I’m waiting for payment and doesn’t happen, all of a sudden I get a mail that the buyer has reported a problem and the boots will be returned to me. I was stunned. I only tried them on and then packed them again as they didn’t fit, they were in the same state I brought them, I sent them with the box, dust bag, card, tissue paper, just like I received them. I tried to contact Vestiaire and was told that the buyer reported to have received something else and supplied them with a picture and according to their rules the sale is cancelled. Imagine my surprise when I got a parcel delivered with DHL and in the parcel were not the Prada boots I had sent but a pair of truly ruined, smelly men’s shoes. I reached out to Vestiaire Collective and was told it was a return, the sale is cancelled and I received my “non compliant item back” - I did not! I tried to check for the sender address, it doesn’t exist, I thought this can’t be possible and contacted DHL, after being on the phone for over an hour, I was finally told that my parcel was sent via a DHL drop off shop and not collected from the (not existing) address. They also don’t keep the ID of the person who picks up items on file, the pickup points assume that if someone has an ID and collects a parcel for a person, signs for it, it’s valid as they know the name. Basically I now paid for somebody’s Prada boots and got a pair of men’s trainers back. I would like to warn everyone about direct shipping! And if you need help from Vestiaire, don’t expect anything!

When the direct shipping started I was worried, so I contacted customer service how to protect myself in case the buyer damages something, they told me that I need to take a picture of the item and with the label! I always did, however they never check with the seller (another lie from Vestiaire) this time the "buyer" ripped holes into a brand new item, Vestiaire sent me some of their useless auto-replies as apparently they do not have customer service just mindless auto-reply drones, also the top was DRENCHED into a horrible perfume, causing me as an asthmatic to have an asthma attack, the item also has now sweat marks under the arms, I sent out a brand new item. Vestiaire refuses to even reply and send auto replies that the item was not OK. BEWARE of the liars and cheats. I shall be reporting them as not only has my item (new and with label) been damaged but they also endangered my health, asthma attacks are not funny! First they reply: "Dear Raphaela, I will be raising your inquiry to our Expert Team, please be sure that we are doing everything we possibly can to find the suitable solution, and as quickly as possible. I will get back to you within 3 working days. Thank you very much for your patience, I remain available if you have any further questions in the meantime. Kind regards, Audrey for Vestiaire Collective" AGAIN I tell them I have pictures with the shipping label back and front, no holes in the item. I get the usual spam bot reply: Dear Raphaela, I wanted to get back to you about the sale of your Massimo Dutti knitwear reference 9249836. Your buyer reported an issue regarding the conformity of your item. As a matter of fact, she noticed a hole in the back ( see photo attached). This element shows a real difference between the item received and its description, which justifies cancelling your sale. In addition to this, your seller's rating has been impacted which may lead to your Trusted Seller or Expert Seller badge being withdrawn. I thank you for your understanding and wish you a lovely day. Kind regards, Myriam, Vestiaire Collective I WOULD LIKE TO STRESS THAT WHILE I REPEATEDLY OFFERED THE PICTURES WITH THE SHIPPING LABEL, THEY REFUSED TO LOOK AT THEM. BE AWARE THAT WITH DIRECT SHIPPING YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION, THEY LIE TO YOU!

would give 0 stars if i could. bought a cartier vintage bag from there but i didn’t like it when it came, went back in the box and resold it in vestiaire. when it came to shipping that was a nightmare, the courier didn’t turn up day after day and it took me talking to 3 separate agents to get the courier to actually turn up. then the buyer contested the item, which was strange as it has been in the box since i bought it? then i received an email from the courier telling me the item was being returned! vestiaire hasn’t even contacted me with any kind of details about why!! for days!!! i had to go through an agent on the chat feature to confirm. This website is absolutely horrendous, please try other avenues to buy and sell designer items.

I sold and posted a pair of Louboutin heels worn only once ( they were a size too small) and in mint condition, using the Vestiaire label and courier provided. The shoes were sold to a Vestiaire buyer for £300 and were delivered to a collection point given to/by Vestiaire (it’s provided on their courier label). once sent I received emails stating that the shoes had arrived at the collection point and the buyer had been notified to collect them. After 2 weeks the buyer still had not collected them so I contacted Vestiaire via an online chat “bot” but eventually chatted online to someone whom I think was a real person! I was informed in that chat exchange that my shoes would automatically be returned if the buyer did not pick them up after 2 weeks. I’ve made contact via chat and email with Vestiaire several time as it’s now been 5 weeks and my shoes haven’t been returned and they have not been collected from the collection point. It would now seem that for some reason the shoes cannot be located???? Vestiaire does not allow you to speak with them directly and everything is done through regular generic automated emails stating simply they are looking into the situation! I have emailed re a refund for my shoes or returning my shoes but they will not repairs to my request for a refund or shoes in return! Please be very aware of using this site as the security and insurance regarding the loss of your items may not be in place and you may be left out of pocket. I am still awaiting the return of my shoes or a refund but through this process have had no contact directly with a member of staff to ensure that I will get them back or a refund of the £300! They put pressure on you via emails to quickly get your goods sent out as the buyer is waiting etc but when it comes to taking care of customers and loss of expensive items they aren’t helpful or supportive and send generic emails to placate you. There are other sites out there where you can speak directly with customer service and care so my advice would be choose one of those before this company.

Warning!!!! I bought a pair of boots that "trusted seller" Elena repainted !! ?? and all this went through their controll. Vestiaire does not answer at all and the seller is dishonest, says that she used regular brown cream and talks about new soles that cost 50 €. As if it helps me who paid about 150 € for amateur colored boots. Everyone should be ashamed !!!!

Very time-consuming and not worth the effort. It takes forever to take a million pictures and measurements etc...then VC staff can't even bother to include all the text or the correct info. Been trying to get them to change the title of an item. It's been months and they haven't done it. There's no way to put your listings on hold if you travel, nor to message buyers in response to offers, resulting in losing sales due to the limited capabilities of the site. Seriously not worth the effort.

V.C. does not appreciate the effort & time of its members. No matter how you try to get in touch with them, they keep ignoring any email. Help Center & the provided form is just to keep the members busy. I do warn the others, caus' once you sell or buy sth. expensive & you really need help: forget it.

I would strongly advise not to buy anything on their site. Their authentication check-up is extremely poor. I bought a LV bag and when I received it, the condition was much worse than reflected in the pictures and described. The faults I discovered were not mentioned and neither shown in the pictures. Vestiaire took it back the for a second check and said it lived up to their standard accordingly to category. Then i wrote them back with pictures and the specific faults second time. The customer rep said they didn't check those specifics but just a standard check-up. I had 24 hours to decide if i wanted the bag back, or they would just relist the item for the purchase price and charge their usual commission. I am very frustrated as I feel I've been sold a product based on pictures that wasn't reflecting the real condition. Their customer service is poor and slow. So on top of the price paid for the bag, I paid for a quality check-up (as its part of the process when buying) that is extremely poor, plus shipping cost. And their suggestion is to relist the item on the price i bought the bag, using the same pictures so that a next buyer will be in the exact same situation as me. Plus they will charge me their standard commission. So in the end if I decided to accept any of the offers being made on the bag at this point, it will end up costing me equivalent to 150 gbp /1500 hkd and time for a product that i dont even have. So just money out of the window. After telling about my story, other people have told me lots of items on the platform are fake. So poor quality and authentication check-up really isn't trustworthy with them. Conclusion buy dont through them for second hand.

Been trying to get a refund for a delicate jumper I received that smelled of mould from quite a distance! I always pay for QC checking, they checked it twice and found it "conformed to the pictures"... duh! Now my only option is to relist, so that someone else can suffer the same fate (still losing the QC check, transport and custom fee money). Terrible customer service, the site is designed so you'll have a hard time talking to anyone, then those people just tell you they have terms and conditions to respect. There are always dodgy sellers on second hand website, but this terrible QC check gives you a false sense of security and they are quite incompetent (and apparently devoid of sense of smell).

AVOID BUYING FROM THEM. THEY DON'T REFUND YOU ANYTHING IF THE SELLER LIES IN THE LISTING I bought a Chanel jacket on Vestiaire Collective. The pictures look amazing, only that when I received it I realized they missed all the defects of the item. Pictures are professionally taken and used careful lighting and deliberately the side of the jacket with defects. I sent them back, and they dared to say that it fits the description. If you think you are buying from a safe source with quality control, you think wrong, as they only care about selling as many as possible. Once it's out, it's out. Shameless company. I'm sure they will go bankrupt soon with more and more customers realizing this.
