Pick up and drop off is done unprofessionally (my experience is at Vienna intl. airport) - done at a parking lot, or passengers drop off at terminal, not at a designated parking lot. This means that you are under pressure and can't inspect the car properly (and their rep want to leave ASAP and is impatient).
They pin on you fictitious damages (so make sure you have excess cover insurance).
Their customer service is poor.

“This company also goes by the name Colusa. I booked a car rental through “economybookings.com” for an ultra low rate of $40 for 5 days.
When I got to their Miami office, they forced me to get their insurance policy, even though I provided them with a copy of my insurance policy that had full coverage. They charged me additional fees of $180usd. The car they provided was a 15 year old kia that did not have automatic door locks (each door had to be manually locked) plus the windows had to be rolled up by hand. The car was in horrible condition. The value of the vehicle to buy outright was about $400.
They took a $350 “security deposit “ which they did not refund. They provided no reason for stealing my deposit. I received better treatment and service in 3rd world countries.
When I called to speak to them I waited on hold for 1 hour, after which they dropped the call.
Stay away from these theifs and bumbs.”
“SCAMMERS, AVOID AT ALL COST
I recently rented a car from this company, and my experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Despite already having insurance, we were forced to purchase their expensive insurance. This extra cost was unnecessary and felt like a blatant scam.
Additionally, we had to pay a $1000 bond, which was not mentioned beforehand. Our offer to pay the bond in cash was rejected, and instead, we were coerced into paying for their useless insurance for the entire rental period. When we proposed to get the insurance for a few days and return to pay the bond for the remaining rental period, they declined and forced us again to pay for the insurance.
Throughout this process, both my friend and I tried to be flexible, but it was clear they were determined to squeeze every possible dollar out of us. They did not inform us about the necessary steps to take in case of an accident. Reading through other reviews, it's apparent that this company relies on deceptive practices and hidden clauses to take advantage of customers. For example, failing to call the local police after an accident means you're not insured, and the tires aren't covered even though the insurance costs a fortune.
Overall, I felt scammed and mistreated. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this rental company at all costs!”

“I had reservation at addcar orlando. but when i went to office they said no i need liability insurance 100k/300k even it's not state requirement. They said it's our requirement. I called geico and lifted my insurance because i needed car urgently. but they denied by saying no it has to be atleast before 30 days since i lifted just now they can't give car to me. “Terrible experience. Would never rent from them again. Used Addcar because they had such low rates but when we got there they insisted on levels of proof of insurance that I have never seen at any car rental agency anywhere. Even when we showed our insurance card and very high levels of insurance they still made us pay an amount equal to the entire rental of the car because one of our coverage levels was below the ridiculously high limit they arbitrarily made up. None of this was made clear at the time of online reservation, by the way -- they only tell you after you have taken not just one, but two shuttle busses to get to them since they are not really in the airport the way they imply they are. Absolutely never use this scam company!”
“Terrible service! They convinced me to buy their top insurance package claiming they would cover all sorts of things, including roadside assistance (see attached picture). On the road between two village I deviated just few meters from the road to take a urgent phone call as the road was too narrow to stop on it. I went with my front wheels in a small pond (see pictures) from which I could not get out as it was too muddy. I called them for assistance but they told me they would not cover that as it counts as an off road accident. They said they could arrange a truck to pull me out but they offered me to do it for double the normal price. I called myself assistance for which I paid myself.”

“I rented a car through VIP Card Booking # xxxx. Supplier Reference: xxxxx. Upon getting to the airport the free shuttle never showed up to Terminal B in Orlando after waiting 1 hour and I was with a 3-year-old. We had to get a taxi to the rental location and incur a $25 taxi fee making us over 2 hours late. They kept saying the shuttle was coming but it never showed up. Arriving at the location I was supposed to rent my car through Add Car but they directed me to OC Car rental. They said they owned Add Car, JR Car rentals and OC Car rentals. All of which I discovered have a F Better Business Bureau rating. The price according to my receipt was supposed to pay was: 173.25 My receipt said I would pay: $173.25 Grand total of INCLUSIVE of all taxes and fees. They said I owed $199.35 more. However, when we got to the car rental there was a extra charges for voucher fees. I also had my own car insurance that was supposed to waive rental coverage, but they forced me to pay an extra $10 a day. They also would not allow me to use my own EZ pass and said if I went through any tolls it would be $25 for each tolls. This was more than the original cost of the rental. They also advised, if I paid cash, I wouldn’t incur a credit card fee of $12.60. I waited on line as well at the rental place for nearly 1 hour and they didn’t even have the car I wanted, a Toyota RAV 4 and gave me a larger KIA Telluride. The receipt said I picked up on time. I waited 1 hour there. However, I needed a car and had no recourse because I was with my family. I pleaded with them to charge what my contract said, and they said no. I also encountered a huge language barrier with broken English/Spanish. I had no choice but to take the car. I also called them and was placed on hold, I was hung up on and never received a call back. When I returned the rental car they said I was an hour late. I said I was waiting in your lobby, and no one was here, and you made me wait a hour upon pick up. I asked for a receipt at drop off and was denied a receipt. I also wrote after my trip on Instagram on social media and they said to fight them, and I would lose. This is false advertising. As my original receipt said $173.25 was INCLUSIVE of all taxes and fees. OC car rental, Addcar and JR car rental must be reported for falsifying information and then taking reservations.
Additionally, Upon receiving an alert on my credit card I was also charged an extra $103.50 without my permission on March 14th 2024. I called AMEX and they immediately gave me credit.
I am looking for OC car rental to credit my account $199.35 + $103.50=$302.85

After 2 hours waiting for my turn as there was only 1 person working, my self employed credit card is not acceptable and if I want to use my debit card I have to pay 80 euro as insurance.
Sii ok they end up charging me 89 euro extra and almost missed my flight as I had to wait for ages to return the car.
This company and who ever support them should be banished and the local authorities should band them for ever.

“This is a scam! We had to pay a lot more because my creditcard supposedly didn’t work. My creditcard worked just 3 hours ago in the plane. Then we needed to pay a lot more and also pay €500,- as a deposit from our regular bank account. After hours of discussion we reluctantly payed because we had booked several hotels and had to start our trip. Like all other reviews you can guess the fact that we never got the deposit back! This was at ADDCAR Marrakech but we booked via Carjet. Carjet has to be aware of this scam because this has happened to so many people. After three months of mailing with Carjet they are not doing anything about it. Please people stay away from Carjet and ADDCAR! These organizations are criminal. I am taking legal actions and will do everything in my power to prove that this is an elaborate scam!”
