“DO NOT RENT from this company. They scammed me for the whole price of rental. Our flight was delayed and we came to pick up our car few hours later, we were told that they canceled our reservation because we didn’t show up, and they have to right to the whole payment. They also didn’t have a different car to rent. The company is a scam I don’t know how they exist.”

I arrive at Casablanca 9pm I couldn't get hold of the guy until midnight, they didn't have an office, everything was done from the open space, he refused my insurance so he could sell me his, it was a nightmare very unprofessional. If only I could give a negative star…nonetheless even infinite negative stars wouldn’t be enough to rate the brilliant SCAM service of Addcar Rental. Let’s start from the very beginning. We booked with Addcar through Easycar.com. As it’s a legit website, we didn’t check or read any of the reviews online.
Our pick up was from Marrakech airport. They don’t have an office so you have to keep looking for the guys doing paperworks in the airport parking lot. When we reached there, we’d selected to collect the car at 9.30 am however when we reached the parking we found that there was only one guy dealing with the customers. There were three / four more customers in front of us waiting for their turn. So we had to wait in the scorching heat as there were no shades around! When finally our turn came probably after an hour, we were told our credit cards cannot be used because of security reasons. We tried twice but apparently it failed so they asked us to use our debit card. With the debit card, the appeal is that you only pay EUR 500 for the deposit. We also paid EUR 120 for 3 days car insurance which they said is full excess and would cover everything (if you have bought an insurance online it won’t be valid (according to them) so you will have to buy here). After this everything went well and we left after two hours with the car after doing the paperworks.
Upon our return, they mentioned some of the scratches that were already there before we took the car and we had pictures as proofs (the agent was telling us that we’d not need to take any photos as we had full insurance). We also argued that even if we scratched it we have full insurance so it should cover. There were two agents on that day so the guy who had originally given us the car told the second guy to issue the full refund. He then took my card and issued a FAKE refund. I didn’t have internet at the time but he basically was trying to charge me rather than give me the deposit back. As I didn’t have enough cash in that account, they couldn’t take additional money. However, I have now found that they took the full deposit money on that day as the deposit was on pending before that instead of returning my deposit. The guy asked me to sign a damage report paper where he had not selected or written any damage and asked me to put my email and phone number; as the report was empty I didn’t think much of it and did as he said. He also told us we could call on one of the numbers on the invoice if we don’t get refunds within 3-4 working days.
I didn’t receive the refund in 4 days but I decided to wait few more days. In two weeks time, I called them on WhatsApp and they said there was an accident so I won’t get my deposit back. I then explained that we didn’t cause any damage and even if we did we had the full insurance. They denied it was a comprehensive insurance and said it was only excess reduce like wth?! So the guy or the company scammed us! Also that guy charged MAD 100 as a tip from my car of which I only got to know after he took it.
We sent a long email to their customer service but they sent us an invoice and damage report and told us to send to our insurance company. We bought the insurance from them!! The empty damaged report which I had signed before I left Marrakech had to my horror been forged, they copied my handwriting from the email address I had written and basically wrote that i damaged the windshield and trunk. So ridiculous! I even have pictures as evidence to show that those damages were already there. Anyways they completely denied our claims and refused to give my deposit back.
I have also read reviews on how they organise a crime and crash into rental cars so that they can claim money from insurance company and as well as charge customers. They should be completely banned. Hope the authorities see all these negative reviews as all the reviews I’ve come across have been negative. Don’t hire from them!”

“Do not hire from addcar, the company offers cheapest quote to hire the car, but at the end you will pay expensive price as the company will make sure they will find the damage caused by you. I hired the car after arriving to BTS airport, the guy who I collected the car from was friendly enough and there was no issue, except the cigarette smell in the car. I don’t smoke and I was told by addcarr strictly no smoking in the car, however the car stinked of cigarette smoke.
The shock came when I returned the car, I was told I scratched plastic underneath of front bumper. I argued with staff that was already marked on original protocol, but I was told this is the other side. I couldn’t argue, as to be honest, when I was collecting the car, I didn’t lay down on the ground to check the scratches underneath of car. Addcar charged me 200EUR for this “damage”. They also charged me another 100EUR for the scratches on plastic wheel trims. Therefore instead of orginal hire price 98EUR, 4 days car hire cost me 398EUR. I am sure whoever will hire the same car next week will be charged for same damage as I don’t know many people laying down on the ground to check vehicle for damages when collecting the car. Their staff when returning the car was unhelpful, unfriendly and rude. I hire the car several times a year, but I have never had such a bad experience. Avoid at all cost. I have learnt my lesson, addcar are scammers and earning their profit very misleading and dishonest way”
“My booking was in advance for pick up in Casablanca Airport. To put a security deposit on my Amex Card they charged me extra $210 for no reason.
The car was old with more than 167000 km.
On a different note, I need to bring your attention to serious safety issue with car tires (see tire pics). I had to replace a flat tire that was very old and had cracks and should not be put used. The spare tire was as bad as the old one. I seriously was scared to drive this car from Agadir to Casablanca. Please recommend your affiliate to take the safe measures for customer safety.
The second issue is that there was no agent at 6 AM to check the car back. I had to wait in the middle of the parking along with another customer till 6:15 am. I had to leave the keys in the car and leave and still missed my flight. What a nightmare it was!
This rental company runs its business from a parking lot "LOL". Then you will need to pay for the parking fee when you leave the lot... No sense!
Travelers take your business for serious companies. There are others I used and were fine.”
“Bad Experience with AddCar, Car Rental Company in Podgorica Airport -
For our visit in Montenegro on July 2023 we ordered in advance, through Discovercars, a van from AddCar/Podgorica airport-car rental company. This company has no office or any kind of counter in the airport and we had to go around the place and ask people looking for its representatives who appeared at last. To prevent any payments in case of an accident we payed additional sum for full insurance/full coverage. The representatives explained that in case of an accident we have to involve the police, but if the damage to the car is minor we can skip the police.
During our visit the car got too close to a fence and had minor scratches on one of its sides. As we estimated it a minor damage, we didn't involve the police.
At the end of our visit we return the van to a driver of the company in Tivat air port. We show him the scratches and he sent a picture of it to the company's representatives who decided that we have to pay 500 Euro as we didn't call the police. We were told that we can avoid the payment if we invite the police even now, but it will take the police an hour and a half to get there. This was irrelevant as our flight was about to take off and we paid the sum although we had full coverage. Our demand to get back the money we paid for full coverage was refused.
Please, take it in consideration when renting a car in Podgorica airport from this company.

“Zero stars is the only score they get from me, but this is unfortunately not possible. This isn’t a car rental company, but a pure scam. I could only pick up the car if I paid an extra insurance of 499,- euro for 11 days!! So I refused, but lost a day of my holiday arguing there and get an other car. The financial consequences I have to see if I can get my deposit back, but I fear they won’t pay this back.”

They change paperwork on their iPad after you sign it, charge 400euro for 2cm general wear and tear paint chip, told us we didn’t need to buy a toll sticker because the car already had one and said we could drive anywhere without worry as long as it was in Austria except we arrived home from our holiday with a bill for a toll, when we questioned them based on what they told us in person they said that some roads are included in the toll sticker and sent us a map of those areas?? After we drove the car, no when we picked up the car? Customer service response is also disgusting, they don’t address anything you have said in your email, they respond with nonsense and talk to you like you’re dumb. I hope that this review and all the negative ones before mine are enough to keep you away from this garbage rip off company”
“Dont get fooled by lower rates as compared to their competitors - there is no such thing as a free lunch!
This company is using the lower rates to attract their victims and then charge them for damages.
I was given very much damaged car and took a lot of photos. I took the car and went straight to the highway. One hour later on i got an indicator for а flat tire - stopped at a gas station and although all 4 tires looked ok, i pumped all 4. Indicator was ok after this. Arrived at destination and was about to take off when it was already dark and noticed the right headlight was not working at all. Replaced the light at my own cost at the first gas station! The car rental did not reimburse this expense at all!
Next day - same experience with the tire, after driving for a while indicator on, again gas station pumping, indicator ok. Then the next day again the same story until i get fed up and asked someone at the gas station to change my tire with the spare one.
When i returned the car i shared my experience with the employee. They checked the car and then found a small dot/crack on the front-shield saying this is new damage, i verified my photos taken during check in and saw spot in the same location. The employee said they will verify this later, released my deposit and brought me out. Next day my credit card got suddenly charged and i requested explanation. I was responded 1 day later with a bill for the presumed damage disregarding the evidence from my photos.
I was lucky not to trust the company good will and luckily purchased a full insurance while booking the car through a third-party website. The insurance will return my loss but i feel it is my duty to share my negative experience with both technical condition of the vehicles they are offering + my experience with the damage claim.
The seemingly cheaper price is deceitful - these people are feeding on insurance money. Hopefully with more reviews and more awareness less people will become victims of such criminal business model.”

They charged $1,000 euros to my credit card without my authorization and have yet to return my deposit, which was supposed to be refunded over a month ago. I hired a car through AddCar in Marrakesh.
I purchased the insurance when I booked the car which covered me for everything.
When I picked up the car they told me I need to pay €1000 euro deposit because I didn’t book insurance. They tried talking me into getting extra insurance with them which was bulls**t. Then when I returned the car they tried telling me I had damaged it because of some tiny scratches which were there when I hired it!!! They then asked for my card to process the refund of my deposit and instead of doing that they took the full deposit amount from my card!! He lied to my face and then denied doing it. Thieving scumbags this company are. Don’t use them. Exploit them. Close this company.”
“The worst experience of our lives. I would not recommend ADDCAR company to my worst enemy. They lured me into buying second insurance policy in addition to what I had already paid for, they failed to explain that damages don't count, only for collisions. This extra obviously fake "policy" was 105 eur, explaining to me It is the only chance and I was liable up to 500 eur in damages.
When returning the car, they pointed out to an invisible scratch on the front plastic bumper. I was schocked to find out they implied I caused it, when I am sure I did not. And for this bumper anomaly which didnt even look like a scratch but more of a print caused by machines cutting the plastic in factory, they charged me 350 EUR!!!!
So to sum up, after paying online advance of 70 eur, adding 205 eur renting fee (which already included full insurance!), 105 eur for extra insurance, and the 350 eur for the 'scratch', the rental for 6 days cost me around 720 eur!!! That's for a crossover car, not a luxury model, which is what would have cost me if I rented a 100k car...They should go to jail for this and lose licence permanently!”
