“I love how fun it is choosing new clothes each month, I particularly enjoy trying brands previously out of my price range (LK Bennett!). Lots of great choices for work clothes and fun outfits for nights out. Customer service is top notch too. It's far more sustainable than fast fashion so if you like to change up your looks - Try it!”
“I really wanted to like the Devout, but the customer service has been horrendous. I was going to be traveling when my box was due to changeover, so I reached out proactively to customer service, who did not help at all. While I was gone, a new box was delivered (via a different delivery service than quoted, so I had no idea), then picked up again instead of the old box which sat in front of my flat for 10 days. I have emailed customer service every day this week to fix the issue and still don't know how to cancel my account or get the box back to them.
Very disapointing, as the clothes and concept are great. The site itself still needs a lot of work.”

As you know when we attempted delivery via DPD you were not in to accept delivery of the box and return them your old box, so your new box got returned back to us. We let you know we'd be able to send your new box out to you and instead you decided to cancel, which we've provided information on what happens next.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "via a different delivery service" as this was delivered by DPD.
You can always refer to the booklet contained in your box or our support centre for all the information you need.

“Great customer service and good varied collection of clothes. It's a great option if you love to buy and wear new clothes but inevitably lose interest in them after a while. Also a great new sustainable way of updating your wardrobe and I've found it encourages me to be bolder with my style choices as it's just for a month so why not try something new!
My main stumbling block is trying to figure out what size will fit me as women's clothing sizes are notorious for being all over the place but they try to give accurate size guides and their mid-month swap is really helpful on that front. Perhaps if they let customers leave reviews on the items that would help even more to help judge sizing.”
“I've meant to try out the Devout for ages and I'm so glad I finally did. The selection of items is amazing and everything that came in my order is in excellent condition - the only issue I have now is that I want to keep it all! It's a great way to try new styles or find out whether a specific item is worth investing in. “The customer service is super fast and solve any issue you may have so quickly, I'm impressed. The clothes are gorgeous and when the item I wanted wasn't available, I could quickly choose another item. All smoothly. I would like to see better pictures and description of the items such as the composition of the fabric, a bit of story on the brands and bigger sizes availability for inclusivity. I wanted to try fashion rental to see if it was my cup of tea, which now I can confirm it is not. I will probably rent in the future for special occasions like trips, parties, or when I want to treat myself.”

“I'm really happy I've found The Devout. I really struggle with knowing what styles I like, which has cost me a lot of money over the years and endless throwing away of clothes- so I wanted to find a new approach to my wardrobe. I have to say, I'm very happy with the service so far. Once I got my head around the fact I get an email with all info on about when to choose my box, the communication with customer service and DPD was really good. My box was delivered, the old one picked up without fuss, the next day. Yes clothes are laundered so they smell really really clean, (but, really first world problems eh!) “I tried this service with a 50% off code because I wanted to try a more sustainable way of fashion! Didn't rate the DPD driver as he had driven off before I'd even got down the stairs which meant I had to wait another 3 days for him to come back BUT that's not the Devout's fault!! I was genuinely so happy with the condition of the items I received, expected them to look a bit worn as it's a renting service, but they all looked brand new and smelled gorgeous and felt so soft to the touch, unlike any other clothes I'd ever received in the post. The &OtherStories cardigan that arrived did look SLIGHTLY different to the one I selected on the website (it didn't have a collar like the picture) BUT I actually liked it more? so it worked out fine!!
Anyway, a week or so after I got my items, I emailed them to say I was going to cancel my subscription before the next box because I couldn't afford £79 a month, but that I'd really enjoyed my half-price month and would probably rent from them again when my work had picked up (I'm a freelance filmmaker so money's tricky at the moment) and they said they'd be willing to give me another 2 months half price as a thank you for sharing about them on my socials! So nice of them to offer this to me, and I'm really thankful they have, as I'll probably continue my subscription as £40 is more in my budget right now. Also, the pieces I rented are so so nice that I'm gonna have a hard time giving them back... I might have to buy the cardigan as it's literally gorgeous and I love my new wardrobe, even if me and my housemates are the only ones who get to see it.
Overall, really recommend this service if you want to be more ethical in terms of your fashion consumption and can afford the subscription fee in these unprecedented times. A very innovative approach to clothing and I'm excited to see what these guys do xx”
“I tried the £10 box and had an issue where I added the wrong clothes to it - customer service contacted me promptly and I was able add new items to my box. This range is limited, but I found things to my taste. All clothes arrived promptly, clean and mostly new (I didn’t really like the strong laundered smell, but at least it was clean and well made). At the end of my month trial, cancelling was made easy and I was sent a pre-paid returns label I dropped off at my post office. There was a few issues with this but the customer service team were really responsive and had quick, helpful replies. Overall I really enjoyed the experience - I would love to come back and be a regular subscriber if my disposable income ever grows! (I’m a student).”

“Love the concept & I think once they nail the customer service I would easily give it 5 stars. My biggest issue is that every time I’ve tried to send back a box (when a new one is delivered) the DPD team have been unable to pick it up as it hasn’t been logged. The issue seems to be that it hasn’t been logged as a pick up as well as a delivery. I’ve then had to get in contact with customer service myself and sort it. They are very friendly at the other end, but it’s quite a lot of faff. I’ve stuck with it as I know they are a small business just starting out and I want to support the concept, but I hope they manage to fix that element going forward. That being said, every time I’ve had an issue with an item, they’ve sent a replacement ASAP which has been much appreciated and definitely kept me coming back!”

We're working closely with our delivery partners to provide a much more seamless delivery and collection experience - we use DPD's Swap It service as standard however during busy periods, they can sometimes split the delivery and collection service. We're always trying to get better and will feed this back!
“Clothes were as shown on website, but the whole service around it is quite confusing.
For a service costing this much, there needs to be way more communication on what actually are the return dates and when the subscription renews, one email roughly 2 weeks into having the items doesn't feel like enough. Other subscription services do this well, with multiple reminder emails with dates and the other crucial detail in them.”

“Really great concept, and I'm really happy with my first batch of clothes. The only snag I had was that I'd originally picked two out of five items that had been returned the Devout damaged, so they couldn't rent them to me. It would have been better if the items had been checked first before being displayed as available. I ended up with a cardigan that doesn't really suit me (the only item out of my batch that I wouldn't have bought had I tried it on in a shop), instead of a jumper that I really needed this month. Anyway, the team was really helpful and responsive, so I appreciate they did all they could to rectify the situation and suggest alternatives.
