“Changed my mind. After phoning a second time got a really helpful person who has arranged a refund for the begonias and a replacement for the Busy Lizzie. The first assistant was poor and unhelpful but had I been treated like this in the first plsceI would not have posted my previous review. So sorry is due tomorrow o this company from me.”
“Begonia majestic plants leggy practically leafless nearly dead and only fit for the compost heap. Impatiens ( Busy Lizzie) leggy half dead with decaying leaves needed to be despatched weeks ago -again only fit for the compost heap. When I complained I would have needed to photo them and eMail the photos which I don’t know how to do and was told to get someone to do this for me. Who? They are welcome to inspect them themselves although after 3days they have rotted away. They must have known these plants were useless when they packaged them so why not just replace them. Instead I have wasted quite a lot of money. Why did they need this “proof” when they knew the plants were not fit for purpose? They must have known I was telling the truth because the ordinary bedding begonias and antirrhinums were fine yet they were all packaged together and at the same time.”
“Terrible service ,wait weeks for order , plants arrive half dead .
Despite several lengthy emails from the company , complaints still not resolved , very disappointed will not be ordering again”
“Poor service , feeble excuses for late delivery, still waiting since 6th April for plants to arrive. Took my payment quick enough. My advice would be to look elsewhere this is rubbish.”
“Dreadful! Same as many of these. Spent over £100 on plants most of which either never grew (rotten strawberry runners, dead shrubs). Went to the trouble of calling, then sending in photos, got lots of « sorry we are so busy- we will get to your email soon » automated email excuses, but no follow up, despite chasing 3 times. Am now going to put in a data subject access request and then sue them if I don’t get a refund, because I am a lawyer and feel annoyed enough about the dismissive approach to customer service to take the time to do so. Will also complain to Radio Times where they advertised as they are clearly targeting older people and the magazine should not be associated with this.”
“Brought patio roses none survived all dead refund wasn’t allowed so had to order bedding plants as patio roses not back in stock til nov . So received my jumbo garden ready bedding plants x 24 only there were 17 the others where dead the ones that did arrive were the size of my little finger nail . None grew so I asked to cancel my hanging baskets they assured me they would be perfect . Well they arrived on three seperate days in plastic green baskets cheap and nasty . The plants where broken and wilted . I contacted them again and got told send a picture . Which I have and now git told oh send them back and we then respond . Absolutely awful waste of 102 pound on hanging baskets that I could find myself a month ago rather than wait for inferior plants”
“Unfortunately I have to give YouGarden a one start rating.
At the end of April I spent over £140 ordering tomato plants. I chased the delivery of these up and received these just under two weeks ago. Some of the plants arrived badly damaged and YouGarden agreed to replace one of those plants and the replacement arrived yesterday. Still one lot wasn't replaced. However I realised at the weekend that the rest of Tomato plants all have a fungus type infection and all have died. They were sharing a green house with other plants that I'd purchased elsewhere and sadly some of these have died and I've had to disinfect the whole greenhouse, along with buying brand new plants from a local garden centre. I have written to YouGarden who have so far refused to refund this order. It is a terrible waste of money not only on plants purchased through them but also for the others I had purchased that were in the same greenhouse and therefore affected by the fungus from the YouGarden plants. I'd never purchase from this site again and I have now learnt an expensive lesson to only purchase plants from physical garden centres. Do not buy from this site if you want decent quality plants. I have not received a refund yet and so far I've been told they will not provide one.”
“I left a poor review about this company when 16 lavender plants arrived instead of the 40 I had ordered, and the initial response to my contact was dismissive and seemingly disinterested. However a few weeks later, someone from You Garden contacted me and was helpful, efficient and my order has now been completed, with healthy looking plants, which were delivered on time, as agreed.
So, to set the record straight, a way to go, but perhaps there is hope!”
“I ordered plants on the 2nd of May. I rang again on the 27th May as no plants had arrived. Louise at customer services said there was nothing she could do but thought they may be despatched in 5 days time. I was trying to complete a small shade garden for a flat. The tenant moves in in 2 days. Customer services are useless and will not help, they say they cannot contact the nursery and you can not speak to a manager. You Garden do not care about their customers. I ordered from 3 other companies and would recommend Sarah Raven and Norfolk herbs and I would suggest that you do not order from this appalling company. They could have sent the ferns as they have been in stock all the time but were waiting on one plant so delayed all plants until the one plant had arrived in stock. When you cancel your order and ask for a refund it docent bother them at all, I think this situation happens regularly.”
“Ordered 3 dormant fruit trees, 1 decent one arrived along with 2 sticks. Planted out and surprise surprise only the decent one has started growing. Complained and got partial refund but I am still awaiting the remainder which was promised. Trees could not be replaced as they are discontinued, so much for the lifetime guarantee. I won't use you again so Garden Express will gain my business now. One star is too much as the quality is rubbish and customer service dreadful”
“NOT EVEN 1 STAR
Ordered 4 plants 13 Apr 21, paid in full, rang after 14 days as was stipulated on purchase email, to be told it was 14 working days. Rang again over a period of 6 weeks a further approx 4-5 times, customer services were not interested, asked to complain was told, they would only say the same thing, told differing stories as to when plants would be available, tried twice for a split order (as three plants were in stock) told that was the nurseries decision?? So finally i read the reviews, OMG, rang back and cancelled the order, was then to it could take up to 30 DAYS for refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a joke of a company, i will never buy here again.”
“Absolutely disgusted with this company my mother purchased 2 plants when they came they were the wrong colour as it said on the label.
Also the plants if you can call them that were two twigs I have contacted customer service a few times via phones calls and email they keep saying they have passed the complaints to a manager this has been going on now with no response since 18th April.
I would not even give them 1 star but it’s the only way you can write a review.
Save your money and go somewhere else.”
“I have waited over 6 weeks for my order on 1 of the the plants there 4 leaves the second one isn’t much better I could have purchased in a supermarket cheaper.
I have purchased from you garden in the past but I wouldn’t do it again”
“Bulbs of supposedly high quality came to nothing even though the planting instructions were followed to the letter. You garden said that they were not in the ‘category’ to qualify for replacement because they didn’t hold the ‘snowflake’ symbol! What a get-out after spending a great deal. Poor customer relation towards a long-standing customer I feel”
“When purchasing anything the least you can expect is good product/s and good service. Some companies go beyond good and the overall experience therefore is excellent. However You Garden must be thee worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If you have any thought as to using You Garden please save your sanity and think again, count to ten.
Order placed, money taken, order acknowledgement received some 4 hours later, all good. 2 weeks later no sign of goods, tried to phone, left ringing for 1 hour & 10 minutes, no answer. Sent e-mail, reply in 5 days, “…very busy, sorry…..not received in 7 days contact us again…”
3 weeks after my monies have been taken tried phoning again, again left hanging for over an hour, no answer. E-mailed, reply in 3 days “….waiting on stock which is coming in tomorrow….” At last I thought perhaps we’re getting somewhere, but another 7 days go by, this is now 4 weeks after the order has been placed and 4 weeks after they have taken my money and still nothing.
I am sure if the products are in ACTUAL stock, then fine, no problems, but when they advertise them as being in stock and they aren’t then problems start, and mount. They refuse to partial ship, this of course could mean that when the product/s they are waiting for come into stock then those products that were in stock might very well go out of stock.”
“To open an account I had to phone (what turned out to be a premium rate phone line) and was kept on hold for an unnecessary length of time whilst the CS agent kept checking and rechecking the same info. I placed a large order and had no processing emails for over 3 weeks...even though the money had been taken from my bank account. Part of the order arrived after 3 1/2 weeks, and the rest arrived the following day. So a totally unnecessary wait if goods were being despatched in separate parcels anyway! Plants are half dead, and honestly, quite pathetic. A delivery of trailing petunias arrived....tiny plug cells containing plants which are about 1 inch high....and frankly....absolutely useless! They should be near to flowering size. Strawberry plants were offered on a BOGOF basis by entering a leaflet code. Company has only sent me 6 plants (not 12). Luckily I paid via paypal so if they do not resolve the missing plants issue atleast I can open a paypal dispute for a refund. To contact YOU GARDEN has so far cost me over £7. I have now complained by email but as yet, have had no reply.....other than an auto response which says they will respond within 7 working days, and not to chase them in the mean time as they are....to quote them.... 'extremely busy right now'. Maybe this company should learn how to pack and despatch goods carefully, and send entire orders out that have been paid for weeks before hand! AWFUL Company that just inundate you with marketing after you have shopped with them. Best advice....shop at your local garden centre.”
“Order submitted end March and recorded on their site as awaiting despatch 5/4. Have just had a mail to say it’s on it’s way, 18/5, after several pleading emails. No apology or recognition of delay. Some of the other plants this year have either died almost immediately or are not really developing”
“Order placed April 30 arrived May 20. No communication, explanation whatsoever. Difficult to get through on phone but eventually did, at my cost. The only emails I received were advertising more plants to purchase. Arrived today well packaged but some plants very mean, not like you advertise making it very expensive. Apple tree too stick like. In future I’m sticking with garden centres.”
“APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I received a broken tree that had its branches deliberately snapped to fit in a tiny box!? Which is now dead...it was a wedding anniversary gift!! This is so upsetting to see it broken and now dead.
With its branches intact there was no way it would of fit into the shape of the tiny box it came in.
You garden Ignore emails and delete complaints each day on thier Facebook page. Give me my money back!?😡 it's been almost two weeks with no reply. Disgusting service. Would not use again.”
