The only way to stop auto renewal is to call 1st Central. They do not accept contact by email you just get an automated reply. I have called over 5 times to cancel the auto renewal and each time have had to hold on the phone for over 25 minutes and no body at 1st Central even answered the phone on the first 4 times. This has given me the impression of a very shoddy unprofessional outfit. It did cross my mind as though it could be a deliberate attempt to prevent customers contacting them so they can deliberately debit customers cards with a one off payment for renewal of the policy. I would NEVER use his company EVER again.

Company is a complete joke avoid at all costs. My car was stolen and damaged for me to get my car after nearly 4 weeks I've to pay 210 storage costs you are told different stuff every time u ring that is after waiting up to a hour to be put through staff are incompatent disrespectful and are useless at there job. Please take my advice I wish I read this before taking policy out they will find every little detail to not pay out. 100s of pounds in damage has been done to my car from its in the care have pics to prove. Appalling service. Renewed my car insurance last year and had nothing but problems each month. Kept sending me default notices even though it was their fault for not taking out my direct debit. had to phone up each month and make a card payment. Now cancelled my policy and paid off and they still taken a card payment without my authorisation. May be cheap but appalling service and communication between departments. they still owe me £45 back which they fraudulently have taken.

The worst customer service I have ever received. Wait times of over an hour. Agents not even listening. No common sense. I have made almost 50 calls in regards to two issues of that I have had.

I had a very competitive quote and a good renewal quote the following year. I then moved house, less than a mile away from my old house I could throw a stone at my old house. They told me it would cost an extra £450 pounds a year, my monthly payments went up by £60 a month!!!!! I told them I was not having that so asked to cancel my policy, I was then told it would cost me £170 to cancel!! In my absolute rage I hung up to think about my dire options as I couldn't speak to the rude customer services anymore. He then phoned back and told me he had cancelled my insurance. He stated that because I had hung up on him he decided to cancel it. I had not said agreed to it when I asked if I had the right to cancel my insurance without my permission he pretty much told my he could do what he likes. Terrible company the worst customer service I have ever encountered.

I got a very competitive quote from !st central through one of the comparison websites. The first years insurance went by with no problems. Then when i went to renew again, i actually couldn't process my payment through their website on several occasions. I tried on 2 separate occasions via telephone after long waits on hold. I was promised call backs as the price on their website didn't match their phone quote. I never got any return calls and as my insurance was due to expire the next day, i had to find an alternative insurer. Their customer services are very poor, and when i gave them constructive feedback through their complaints department, i got nothing back. I find it incredible in this competitive market, they didn't want to make sure i was even given basic customer care to an existing customer who wanted to renew their policy.

Would have given them NO stars if it had been possible. With them 6 months, then changed my car. Despite changing details online and agreeing to a £40 per month hike in premium (making it MUCH MORE expensive than other quotes), I sucked up the £30 admin fee (for the automated processing that then took place) Today I wanted to put my private registration on the car. How much did they want to do this? £118.80!!!!! When I asked to speak to the manager (Gregor Anderson of the Glasgow office), he refused to speak to me. Wouldn't even come to the phone. Needless to say, I've cancelled with them immediately. DISGRACEFUL COMPANY. BE WARNED!!!! Much better to pay a little extra and not be left feeling like you've been the victim of a 1st Central Insurance scam as I now feel.

My car was hit on whilst parked but fortunately there was a witness. All seemed fine and off it went to be fixed. The car was returned and I noticed rear end damage still present on the wheel. They apologised and said they would rectify it once it had been authorised. After leaving the garage on Friday I noticed something seriously wrong with the handling so returned it at my first opportunity on Monday morning. They took the car back and later that day sent me an image of what they said was old damage which wasn't caused during this impact. This was a blatant lie as the damaged part was replaced by myself 3 months before and I could evidence that fact. My complaint fell on deaf ears so I'm now left with an undrivable car which they are refusing to fix. I have supplied irrefutable photographic evidence which they are choosing to ignore. They can't ignore the independent engineers report or the ombudsman as this is where I'm heading from here. DO NOT touch them or AUTOTECH SMART REPAIRS their so called repair specialists. THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER! I have just had an accident last week on the 13.01.2016. An accident in which I almost lost my life. Because I had third party fire and theft, I was not able to make a claim with them, which is understandable, but now I am not even able to cancel my policy with them, because they have started a claim! They have said that they can't cancel my policy for another 6 months, because they have to wait to make sure the other driver, who left me for dead, won't make a claim with his insurance company!!! So I have been given the option to either keep paying my monthly premium until this is sorted, where I wouldn't be entitled to a refund at the end of the 6 months. Or, I pay the full amount of 800 something and MAY get a refund at the end of the 6 month period. I have asked them exactly what service they are providing me with, where I need to pay them any money, and they have no answers for me. I asked to speak to a Manager and they put the phone down on me! They have the audacity to charge me money for a car that has been scrapped! I have spoken to about 4,5 different ppl, and no on e could help me or provide me with any answers or solution! I don't know what I was thinking getting insurance from this company! I am SO disappointed with them! I would urge people to go with a different company. I will be taking this further; take them to court if I need to, because there is no way I will pay them a penny of my hard earned money! HATE THIS COMPANY! They are the WORST! NO stars! DO NOT GET YOUR INSURANCE FROM THESE INCOMPETENT IDIOTS! NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.

Avoid this company at all costs. An absolute shambles. No idea what they are doing, amazed they are allowed to operate. Staff are totally incompetant. Never come accross a company like them in 35 years of having car insurance. Pay a bit extra and go with a company that knows what they are doing.

Wanted to charge me £30 to change the address on my policy even though the actual premium would have been £4 credit... every other company I changed address with Thanked me for informing them!... and no charge.. !

1St central offer cheap prices but they are very bad if you get into an accident, need to do any change on your policy or general customer service dealing. This is my personal experience with them. They try to charge you for every possible extra and don't like to payout if you make a claim. They try every possible trick to delay your claim like any dodgy insurance company. I have learned my lesson "pay a little more but go to big names like direct line, admiral, Churchill etc.

As a customer we looking good service for what we paying to insurance company.With1st cetral insurance company I stay 1 year and they cut my 2 year no claim discount,the reason I report an incident which is normal to every one,some time vehicles are happen small touch,so I just inform them the incident not to made a claim,what happen...it's hidden terms for them cut no claim discount immediately.Who can stop these one way law,they doing what they like..It is not acceptable,I pay for them to cut my no claim discount,that's what I feel.what the benefit me....I not made any claim and they not pay back me...still they doing this worthless...never recommended this insurance provider...sorry.

I can not wait for my policy to expire with 1st central. If you are thinking of moving home address be prepared to be cornered and ripped off for change of address by first central. I would not recommend them.

They have not reduced my payment even though I have changed from a 2 litre 7 seater Galaxy to a 1 litre Ford Focus. In fact it has gone up due to admin fee. Bunch of Cowboys!
