“Don't go to this Business unless you are going to scrutinise your invoice at the register BEFORE you pay. I was overcharged at the weekend, and they "apparently" cannot refund you the money immediately, they claim that you have to go through a process and provide bank account details to their claims team. I was overcharged on Saturday January 13, 2024, I have contacted their customer service team multiple times, and have not had any contact from them yet to get my money returned. So while I am being charged interest on my credit card for their overcharging me, they are getting interest on my funds that they are holding onto! They have stolen from me and I have yet to receive my money back! I have lodged a complaint with Fair Trading and now I am putting this information everywhere so that people will learn from what has happened to me and insist that they are shown all the charges that they are paying for before they actually pay. I will never step foot in this store again, I don't care if I pay more for products elsewhere, DO NOT GO HERE!”
“We phoned the only number on the website which connected us to Kings Canberra based call centre. We ordered a 4.5 x 3m gazebo and paid for it at the time for pick up at the Shepparton store. They checked stock and said there were 4 in stock. Today we went to pick it up, whilst they were looking for it, we decided to purchase & paid for the wheeled carrier bag for it. We were then told that they had none of the gazebos in stock. That the call centre had not notified them of the purchase and the 4 that they had in stock had been sold. We requested a refund on the gazebo and the wheeled bag which we had just purchased and were told that the store cannot action refunds, that they put a claim into their claims department who would contact us in due course and arrange for a refund to be paid into our bank account despite the fact that the original purchase was done on a credit card. Finding this unsatisfactory we pushed the point and the Shepparton store checked stock levels at other stores and found stock at Bendigo and Ballarat however they could not do inter store transfers so we would have had to travel to one of these two locations to pick it up! They did offer to post one out but we wouldn’t have had it until some time in the New Year. Luckily for us we have a relative in Ballarat who could pick it up. We find their whole business model to be atrocious and very customer unfriendly. I wonder what Consumer Affairs Victoria would say about their refund policy!!! Their policies and procedures leave the poor store staff subject to a string of irate customers because their Canberra call centre can’t get their act together. We were told by one staff member that they are constantly having to deal with customer complaints because of similar occurrences. We will never shop there again.
I also notice there is not ONE positive review on this site - speaks for itself.”
“Appalling quality product "not fit for purpose", 6m x3m "heavy duty" gazebo.
We bought a 6m x3m "heavy duty" gazebo. It is two years old and been used three times. On the third usage the canopy ripped at the stitching. Contacted the company and the response was "it is out of warranty" (regardless of the fact that it is not "fit for purpose" ). They suggested we raised a claim and provide photos which we did. The response was its "wear and tear"! The gazebo is stored inside our house in the bag that they sold for it (the bag is one year old after one use the wheel fell off and it tore - quality like tissue paper). The product bar the canopy is in brand new condition. Used for two Xmas's backyard functions and one baby shower (each in our protected backyard). The prices may be low but so is the quality and support! Would not recommend using this product in you backyard let alone in any 4wd environment. We advised the company that due to their response we will be raising a case with the Dept. of Fair Trading (the company did not respond), so a case has been raised.
Reading some of the other reviews, our experience mirrors theirs.”
“Would never buy from their online store they sent the wrong items 3500km and expect me to drive 3ookm down a dirt road to then pay for the items to be frieghted back 3500km to then have my correct items sent 3500km back and another 600km round trip to pick them up. Payed for items in Oct not going to be able to use them till Feb. Contacted numerous times expecially after posting reviews but all state nothing gcan be done till I either send photos of labels or send back. Why would we drag the wrong items 300km to return them 300km so how would we be able to get into our storage in the closest town to do anything they have asked. It is like talking to a computer that can only do what the programs tells it to do. Go talk to a manager or something stop trying to deal with something that your customer support team is clearly unable to process my story. I will be going gto the ombundsmen now as I have tried 5 different times and each time I get ghosted.”

“I wish I could leave a positive review, but no I can't. If I could give zero stars I would. My experience with this company has been anything but positive. I bought a Kings console fridge which I really regret. The fridge won't go down to set temperature and will continually run flattening our second battery.
Fine you say, get your money back you say. That is like getting blood out of a stone, well that may be easier than getting you hard earned dollars back from this company. So what ever you do listen to people when they say don't buy anything Kings. Because if you get a defective product, expect a fight to get a refund and even then you probably will lose the battle.”
“I phoned to check availability in store. The lady in the phone suggested I purchase them go and collect. When I got to the store I saw a more suitable item. I asked the store guy if I could swap and get a refund (I specifically asked for cash refund to my card). He said sure. Then stuffed around for 30 minutes making me wait. When I checked my card a few days later there was no refund! I phoned and was told they’d send me a store credit! And the Indian person could barely speak English well enough to understand. I explained I didn’t agree to a store credit. She said too bad! I contacted their online customer service and a guy called Eswar told me he’d send a store credit wafted I explained it was FRAUD! Worst experience ever for a nation wide brand”

“I recently purchased a set of seat covers from this store. I asked a staff member who I now know to be the store manager if they would fit on my car. He told me they would. I took them home and wouldn't you know it, they don't fit. I returned them the following week and was refused a refund on the grounds I had "changed my mind" and they would only offer me a store credit. Not good enough. I told them the seat covers were not "fit for purpose" and I had been told by their store manager that they would fit. The doubled down and still refused me a refund, even though their own terms and conditions on their website state:
Under the Australian Consumer Law, you can choose a refund or exchange if an item has a major problem. This is when the item:
- doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can’t be easily fixed.
This is the second such incident I have had with this store, an earlier time I had visited the store when they were having a "scratch and dent" sale. I picked up one of their thumper compressors which had an open box and a reduced price. There was a sign nearby stating that all of this sale stock was "no refunds"
I asked the store staff if everything was in the box before making the purchase. They assured me it was.
I purchased the compressor, took it to the carpark and assembled it to test it. Sure enough, it was missing parts. The store staff watched me do this and promptly handed me another one which was complete. They actually knew the box was missing parts and lied to me about it.
This was the last time I purchase goods from this store. You would think for the place selling cheap Chinese rubbish they would have a better returns policy!”
“Indian guy on the phone pressured me into buying draws because of how busy the shop gets. I asked for a single 1070 draw in 240 height and the dumbass ordered double 1300 270 height, went in and took over an hour to change the draws I wanted, first saying I can get a refund for the draws that takes a week and I have to pay another few hundred to buy the draws I wanted. I said no way that not happening. Employees need more experience. So they gave me back a VOUCHER BECAUSE IT WAS EASIER!!! I wanted a refund for the difference but was sick of waiting for them to learn how to do their job. New draw I got the carpet was coming off in one part. NOT HAPPY”

I've oned multiple products from kings over the years and only a couple were any good.
The drawers fell apart (fridge slide latch broke, handles broke, wing clips broke, alu strips came off, and they sagged in the middle)
200watt folding solar blanket couldn't produce more than 100w in perfect conditions directly facing the sun
Collapsible sink leaked from the drain from new
Awning wall started to tear away at the Velcro straps within the first hour of use
Flexible awning light Came out of its cover with no way to put it back in
The analogue tyre inflater is about 4-5 psi out
The 4 led bar light kit has been good
The mesh floor is fine
Clear top canvas bags are no problems
Hercules recovery gear has done it's job, although the folding shovel bent on the second use.
Hit and miss with staff in store, some are good to deal with, others just downright rude.”

Last contacted them early December and told that I need to demonstrate that the payment had come out of my credit card !!!! And told someone in claims would call me in 1-2 days. Still waiting.
I contacted them today 21st December as still no refund to my account. Told waiting to be processed. Yet another member of the customer service team apologizing and understanding my dissatisfaction and guaranteeing it would be back in my account next week.
I will never ever support this business again and will never recommend them to anyone.
