I have a barclaycard us arrival plus card, which is a discontinued card. No one can make the mistake of getting this card anymore which is good. It is supposed to be a travel card which allows you to redeem travel for 10,000 miles = $100. The problem? Their system is intentionally designed to not recognize travel as travel. Your only option to actually use your miles is a statement credit which you can only redeem at half the rate, or 20,000 = $100. This isn’t an accident or their rewards team would re-categorize miscorrectly labeled travel as travel to let you redeem. They refuse to relabel anything though and they also do not let you redeem miles to purchase travel as most travel cards do. Stay away from this dishonest company

My mom’s AARP card was purchased by Barclays after my mother died and before a refund from Airbnb was processed. Barclays is determined to keep that refund of $7500 and ignore the death certificate and trust with trustee paperwork. We’ve been in communication with them since June, when the credit/refund was applied. Our paperwork has enabled us to receive and distribute funds without issue from banks, ML, Nuveen and the sale of her home. They lie, they make up stuff, they are rude and misinformed and yet they hold onto money meant for her beneficiaries/children. Where is the legal system, upper management, anyone that recognizes that Barclays is playing by a different set of rules than fair and proper. Beware!! It’s a scary financial world with Barclays in it. My mom had her AARP credit card since 1990; never a problem!

To whom this may concern,  I’m emailing this letter in regards to asking for the transaction for HP Product SVC RPR for 49.99 to be reopened. I allowed my mother to pay for a service to help her get unlocked out of her computer and this company claimed they could and took my card information only to not to do be able to get in the computer but she had already given them my card number they had assured her they would not charge my card since they could not help so I reported it as fraud because they did charge my card and received a letter that it will be charged back to my card. This Company records their calls and they need to send something stating that this was the case because no one can afford to be charge unnecessary chargers I’m asking that you please reopen this and refund the 49.99. I call corporate I don’t understand why because clearly they don’t have a say so if anyone has had a problem with Barclays credit card please let me know I’m willing to start a lawsuit with you because their investigations are bogus I wish they never brought out my pervious credit card and I will keep reporting this. They calling me at 9pm at night from a phone you can’t even hear on being dramatic saying and if I close my card I’m. It getting another one like who are you just rude, you can’t tell me what my credit will allow !! Never missed a payment credit card is over 6000 I don’t care if it’s 50 it’s fraud if you take something that’s not yours and you didn’t complete the service..

I am not sure i would even give them a one. It is terrible trying to get to talk to a customer service agent. Then when you get to chat with one they can not find your account. I would not recommend them to anyone. I closed the account because of a charge I did not make and I am still getting letters about it. I was told by the people that made the charge that it was paid back and resolved. Tom Shipley

Absolutely disgusted with this company. Had several problems raised a complaint on sep 30th. Was informed I'd receive a call back within 72 hours. Heard nothing so called today only to be told my complaint had been closed. Advisor I spoke to on 30th failed to add to notes I was expecting a callback from a manager. I'm then informed by initial advisor who informed me after speaking to complaints dept that complaint can't be re-opened and to take it to the FO. I told her that was shocking as my complaint should never have been closed in the first place. She asked if I still wanted to speak to complaints I said yes. Then wait forever again til I finally got through to complaints. Complaints advisor then says she needs to find out if complaint can be reopen! She finally comes back and says it can be reopen I now have to wait a further 5 days for a manager to get in touch after waiting 7 days. On 30th sep I was on the phone a total of 1hour 14min today I was on the phone for a total of1hour 11min. That's 2hours 25mins I'll never get back Absolutely disgusting service. I will be closing Mt account!

They all need to be trained better on professional sarcasm. It’s a waste of time being on the phone with them. They make me want to close out my gap account and never deal with them again.

Barclay credit card is the worst credit card ever. Even without activating the card. they will charge card services which are around $70 and when you want to cancel the credit card. they expect to pay first that money without that they will not cancel the service and they will start late fees if you denied paying. Customer service is the worst ever. Beware of the credit card of Barclays.

Horrible customer service. My Old Navy Credit Card was moved to Barclays and that has proved to be a horrible thing. First, I cannot understand the customer service reps due to heavy accents and I believe there is a language barrier because of the English dialect I speak. It takes triple the time to communicate with them. I had unauthorized charges and wanted to close the account to obtain a new account number and instead of doing that the representative sent me a REPLACEMENT card with the same account number. More unauthorized charges ensued. Barclays refuses to reverse those charges. I am not so desperate to need this company, so I've decided to pay off the account and not use them anymore. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND to do business with Barclays.

Horrible bank and customer service. I already gave up my premiere membership with JetBlue once because of them. They don’t make good faith efforts to resolve disputes. Always useless. Their fraud dept doesn’t know what they are doing either. JetBlue partner with another bank.

Man, I wish I would have read the reviews before opening a card. Canceled the card within 1 week of having it. Was offered $75 off a room if approved for the card so I applied. When I got to the hotel they stated even though I had applied and was approved I would need to put a card on file for accidentals. Totally understand. Well, they billed the card I put on file at the full price. When I called Barclays they said I needed to talk to Wyndham. I called Wyndham and they said they do not deal with billing and that I need to speak to the credit card company. I called Barclays back and they said they would not honor the reward since I gave the hotel my other credit card when I checked in. I booked the room the day before I stayed I did not have the card I just applied for. What a scam. I would not recommend this card to anyone.

Exemplary customers for 16 years - paying full amount on time every month; never going over the limit etc. Suddenly for no reason they blocked the cards and also the online account. This went on for a couple of weeks until we received a letter from India saying the account was blocked because the writer did not "feel comfortable". A short while later the cards and online account were re-instated again - only to then be stopped again a short time after. This has made conducting our business very stressful and, although we have received one statement which shows one card's spending, we have not received the full statement which shows the amount to be paid and by what date. I was alerted by Experian that they have put information on my credit file that they have stopped their credit with me. This appears to be a personal vendetta against me. What sort of creeps would do this? I have emailed and written to the CEO at least 6 times and been ignored. I have written to the Serious Complaints Dept. in Glasgow and been ignored. Telephoning is just a waste of time because if you do get through after 40 minutes the person on the other end can't understand you. I think they want me to miss a payment so they can put adverse information on my unblemished credit score. Makes you wonder if they're working for the Russians!

Atrocious. It sounds like a good deal until you try to make a payment. I've set up auto-pay SEVERAL times and it just didn't work, tried to call them and I end up sitting on the phone for over 2 hours and half the time no one picks up, and when I try to pay online I get a "Oops! That wasn't supposed to happen!" notification. So what happnens then? They autocall you 3-5 times a day and don't even have the nerve to have a real person on the line or a way to pay over the phone. Don't waste your time with these people, they're not even slightly worth it.

Trying sort my Barclay-credit card app for 2 days to make an online banking payment. Firstly was told my bank was at fault. I contacted my bank who stated it was the app. Been using chat as contact point. Now no-one is responding to that. So tried direct phone line and was hung up on. My bank has made a payment to Barclaycard which is not showing up on my statement and I can’t get through to anyone to sort it out. I am disgusted. Their customer service is non- existent!!!

This is the worst experience that I ever had, customer service by jetblue ( got my card booking a flight), no reward was given , when I called they hanged up on me 3 times, same when I called Barclay, hanged up twice, this reps are children handling your information and money, no thank you, I cancel the card right the way, the last person who picked up the phone was profesional and did his job correctly but by that time I was very upset and I have zero confidence on them, buyer beware
