Tried to cancel my subscription. Found it impossible to get through on the telephone. Then received a letter telling me my subscription was £69. They actually took £123 out of my account. I would never deal with them again and advise everyone I know of my experience with these people.

Won't let me cancel the renewal.I Rang yesterday waited 15 minutes, they told me they haven't got access to a computer they'll call me back. Today they called and hung up immediately. I rang them waited 15 minutes to get through, explained what happened put through to multiple departments then the call hander put me back through to the original queue. I give up. That's what they want.

Terrible service....called out....told be there within the hour....I called after a hour to be told another hour....a hour later they called and told me upto 4 hours! I was sat at the side of the road waiting! Nobody knew what was going on...£160 a year service for that....in the end I got the car towed and played myself.

A fuel filter was the problem, they could diagnose that when I told the symptoms to a mechanic he knew what the problem straight away. Then they took an unauthorized payment for a renewal I did not want and then it takes them 14 days to get the money back. They can't tell me how this payment was authorized.

Appalling service, as usual. Waiting 3 hours to be told I am not a priority and that it will be another 45 minutes at least. No doubt it will be the usual poor service when they eventually turn up. Do yourself a favour - go with the AA.

30 minutes on hold then cut off by bad mannered staff (this happened twice), very poor service. Renewed with AA, they where perfect in comparison!

Driving in Europe, we took out the comprehensive additional insurance from the RAC for peace of mind. Needed some help in France, and got passed from one person at RAC to the next over the phone for TWO hours while sitting in a car park in baking sun, speaking to over 7 different representatives from different departments, got cut off multiple times, and were connected to the wrong underwriter. No one seemed to be able to help or know how to answer our questions, until one member of RAC customer service finally gave us instruction that we followed to the letter. Now we are home and find out that the advice we were given was incorrect and we may be out of pocket up to £500. Completely shocking how let down we felt when we thought we were in safe hands.

A 14 hour overnight wait for the RAC to send someone to attend a roadside breakdown is just not good enough.

Very bad service. I waited for over six hour. No one come to help me. In the end I had to leave my car in an unsafe place and make my way home. I will not recommend them.

Vehicle broke down (clutch went) called R.a.c at 18:35 30/aug/18 I was told recovery time 90mins....numerous calls and call backs then told no patrols in the area 3 hours later (broke down inbetween Bridgend and Barry Not the Moon) phobbed off by customer services on the breakdown helpline! Paying for a service they can't provide!!! Vehicle left there I had to call for a lift home approx 15 miles.. The are recovering it today between 8-10 I was told by the Manager vehicle still There! More lies terrible service waste of money considering they are one of the largest Breakdown companies.

So I have National Cover with RAC, yesterday I called up at 12pm after trying for an hour to start my brothers car, we were about 90 miles away from home, visiting family, and we needed our car to get home later in the evening as we both had work the following day. They said that because it was a bank holiday someone would be able to get to us for about 2, half 2 and I said that would be fine. By 2:40pm no one had arrived yet, I spoke to them on the phone and they said they would be another half an hour, an hour later I called up, asking where they were, it wasn't until about half 4 that they finally sent someone. So after over 4 hours of waiting the mechanic (who we had no problem with and seemed nice enough) checked out the car and determined that he wouldn't be able to fix the issue. He booked a tow for us as I have cover that enables me to be towed anywhere nationally. Just to note, he had no clue why we were kept waiting so long. About 15 minutes after he left I called up RAC to determine when a tow would be with us and they said it would be anywhere from an hour up to an hour and a half, which I said would be fine. After half 6, past the time they said we would be getting a tow, I called up and they said the tow would be with us in half an hour and that the driver was stuck in traffic. I spoke to them countless times and each time they gave me a new ETA adding half an hour or 45 minutes, and a few times they hung up on me for no reason whatsoever. Some of the staff I spoke to I felt were incredibly rude, not at all sympathetic to my situation. I, like many others, am a paying customer so why was it that I had to wait over 10 hours until for a tow? The tow finally arrived at 11pm, so after 11 hours of wait we were on the road and by the time all of this was over and done with it was past 2am in the morning. I have to be up for work at half 5 in the morning, so the lack of sleep has not helped me overcome my frustration at the situation. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life, also at one point I asked if we could have a taxi to take us back home. They never got back to me. The only positive of countless hours waiting yesterday was that I had time to research a new cover and Greenflag have one for £25 a year which is also National Cover. I recommend you buy that one instead. Or go with AA. Anyone else really, don’t waste your time and money on RAC. After my cover is up this year I won’t either.

Been left for at least two and half hours.. It is now 2.30am and still no progress or person from Rac. Two young children in car and I'm pregnant too. Still continuously told someone will be there... But no time frame. Numerous calls made to no avail. Don't waste your money with RAC.

I was a silver customer for over 10 year and when I got a blow out with my car RAC classified it as a RTA a road traffic accident , it took 8hours before I was collected as I didn't have a spare as my car don't have one and they wouldn't take me home unless I payed £117 wich was a charge per mile from home , if I was any further away I can't think what it mite of cost, puncture at 4pm collected at midnight. Policy says RTA no extra cost but there is , stay away from RAC and check all small print and get it in writing , have read many cases like this so be very carefull
