I broke down in a lonely country lane phoned the RAC at 4-15. I had 2 texts from the RAC on my mobile by 7-30 my mobile phone battery was flat. Luckily I had company with me as the recovery vehicle did not come until 12-15. I have complained but Customer Care Team are very unhelpful. I have escalated the complaint to the RAC CEO only to be answered by Customer Care Team again. Yet again their response is very unhelpful. The compensation is totally inadequate for an 8 hour wait in a cold cramped Landrover in a lonely country lane. As the pick was soo late the vehicle had to be taken home & the RAC recalled to take vehicle to the local garage. I have discovered RAC have classed this as 2 call outs. I now can only call out the RAC once between now and September 2022. Any more call outs will have to be paid for. I would never recommend RAC to friends after being a member since 96.

Crooked corrupt money making machine! refuse to recover disabled people in a vunerable situation with car broken down in limp mode on a national speed limit highway been with them for years with roadside and recovery service never used them! The only time I want a recovery service they refused to recover me unless I paidΒ£100 upfront! A member of an extortionate thief company! been better to pay a local drug dealer for breakdown cover!!!!

I am not a member to start off with I am a simple driver of the road and member of the public. On my way home I was driving over the York ring roads. The road leading from Shipton Road to Great New Way at 17.58pm one of their drivers caused me to drive into the middle of the road. I was using the conversion lane for that road to get traffic off the roundabout and your driver decided to simply not let me into the main lane and cause me to drive into the middle of the road. I drive a small Citroen C1 and the fact that this driver had me nearly head on oncoming traffic is ridiculous. If the car in front of them did not pull forward quickly to let me in there would have been a rather large accident. Absolutely ridiculous for the fact that they're breakdown recovery but one of their drivers was more than happy to try and cause an accident. Honestly disgusting

Abandoned my daughter and partner on the side of a busy dual carriageway. The went on to say she was not covered under the policy she had used several times previously over the years. Car was recovered and fault misdiagnosed by RAC patrolman. Shocking customer services and their social media staff try to stop any bad posts on Facebook, by trying to intimidate users. They also don't read their own complaints as all they will do is fob you off for 20 days plus whilst they investigate. They will let you down when you need help the most...Avoid like the plague!

Terrible company. I use to be with them years ago, I cancelled and every year they take money out of my bank and say it's automatically comes out? Ive cancelled years ago?? I'm going to ring my bank and block them!!!!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Second time in a row they haven't turned up. Home start now on day 2 with no car. Being constantly fobbed off that they are on their way. Its just not happening. I'm going to have to get someone else and pay. Don't join. Will be cancelling. Still sat with no car. Avoid.

One of worst companies plese way out of it wast of time plese compared aa is the best I have van cover when I broke down way from my house 17 mile way I pay 1yer up front with my insurers they saying its not covers I have to pay Β£ 775 they people working wast of time they don't know wa they doing charge me to recover plese stay way form this rec companies I wood not recommend to to others as is the best service this people cool aa not a rac Bad explainec with rac never ever choice

Totally useless service. Purchased a vehicle check from RAC. All passed ok no issues reported. Selling the vehicle now three years later and turns out there is a massive discrepancy in the mileage showing on every other portal (including HPI, Autotrader and AA) but not reported by RAC. How can this be! Totally misleading information provided by RAC which I relied upon when purchasing the car. I have contacted them and they state they have no liability as their T&C's limit their liability for the information provided to 12 months. Unbelievable. Do not even consider using their service. Get a report elsewhere.

So I've been stranded in the cold for 7.5 hours and still no update on when my car will be towed. Managed to get through the on the phone but still not able to give me an update. Looking at the reviews below there seems to be a pattern. Avoid like the plague.

Never provided their services after calling to report a punctured tyre on a motorway with a baby in the car and pregnant woman. After 6.5 hours had to call a local company to help us. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! they do not care wether you are vulnerable or disabled they have you waiting hours whilst telling you its going to be another half an hour when infact they aren't on their way to you at all! They make you miss important appointments whilst waiting for them, go with AA!!!! I cannot stress enough how bad this company is. You go through their investigations to be offered a petty amount of money for your inconvenience of them putting the phone down on you! Disgusting service

Been waiting 4.5 hours for recovery no sign yet. Apparently people travelling abroad now that Covid restrictions have lifted in the summer is the issue. It’s November!!

One star is too generous. My son broke down on the evening of the 2nd of November. They left him stranded before putting him in a hotel at half past eight last night. He's still not been rescued and it's 10:15 on the 4th. Disgusting. Don't go with the RAC.
