“We buy any phone offer ths best prices so people send their devices away in good faith for the full amount offered. I sent my Samsung s9 plus away and I rated this as good condition on there website. on Facebook I advertised it as excellent condition I had a,few offers of £190 but decided to send it to we buy any phone only to receive a email to say the item was not in the condition described i laughed and thought no it was better!!! I refused the price reduction and asked for the item to be returned only to get a revised email saying they had now checked the item again and decided to offer the full amount offered that was a week ago and still no payment this sort of business should not be allowed but its happening take your phones elsewhere I have learned a lot in the past few weeks I have even phoned them asking where my money was and the chap said oh it should be Monday that makes it 9 days since I got an email saying payment would be made shortly sorry this is not good enough!”
“Avoid these con artists like the plague! I wish i’d read up on them before wasting my time and energy. They lured me in by offering higher than anyone else, so i sent them my iphone 8. After originally offering £193, they claimed my pristine phone was damaged and reduced the offer to £140. I complained, so they “reassessed” it and increased their offer to £160. I asked for my phone back, received it and sent it to another (more reputable) firm. They paid the full offer amount immediately. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.”
“Utterly terrible company to deal with.
They initially tried to argue the iPhone 8 I was selling was damaged (it wasn’t - it was even sent in an old Otterbox case!) then changed their tune and agreed to pay the quoted price when I asked them to send the phone back.
However two weeks later I was forced to chased them to find out where the money was. Was met with bluff and counter bluff.
Immediately told them that due to the length of the time I'd had to wait, their lack of communication and the terrible reviews online I would begin action via county courts and trading standards.
Surprise, surprise, I got a call back within an hour saying the money would be paid that day.
But surprise, surprise, no payment was made.
Court it is then.”
“I sent off my iPhone 7 as webuyanyphone had quoted the highest price of £140.. When they received it ‘quality control’ said the ‘battery needed servicing’ and so they could only pay me £45! The phone was in perfect shape so I asked for it back. I then got another email offering £85. I said I would offer them the chance to pay me £130 deducting a tenner for a battery. They declined. I asked for my phone back saying they had wasted enough of my time. . On its return I got another quote from a reputable company and sent the phone off. They quality checked it, said it was perfect and paid full price. Clearly webuyanyphone just tried to rip me off which is appalling.”
“Literally the worst company I've ever dealt with. Took 8 days to receive any money, phone was there two weeks. Had to call 7 times over 3 days chasing payment. Was shouted at by a customer service manager and hung up on whilst trying to explain the situation. Lodged a complaint. Made my blood boil how I was treated, honestly please stay away, use music magpie or anyone else, the are not a reputable company.”
“AVOID AVOID AVOID,
Firstly they tried to say my phone was damaged. I informed them that I had photos that it wasn’t and witness when I sent it, to return my phone and if it was returned damaged I would contact training standards. All of a sudden, miraculously, it was and error and my phone wasn’t damaged and they offered me full price again. 🤔. I was promised payment within 5 days. That came, no payment, rang them assured it would be by midnight next day. Surprise surprise, that came no payment, rang again told it had flagged as a late payment and would be in by midnight that day. Guess what no payment again. Rang again spoke to Grace to whom I made it very clear, I was not happy. She then got on to payments and APPARENTLY there was a technical issue and my payment finally came through that afternoon. Only technical issue was, there a bunch of scammers. Will stick to fonebanker in future 😡”
“They did not pay me for my phone. I only got paid after making a claim for money through the courts. If they owe you money you should make a claim too.”
“I sent my Iphone 7 off after being quoted I could get £152 for it, I sent the phone recorded delivery which was over £7. They emailed to say they had received it and that a member of staff will check the device. An hour or so later I received an email to say that due to scratches and wear on the case they want to offer me £130 (the phone was in perfect condition as its always had a screen protector and a case on). Anyway just to save having to pay to get it back I accepted the offer and was told payment would be made within 5 working days. Those days came and went and still no payment. I rang them up to be promised that it would be in my account that evening.. But of course it wasn't. I sent an email and was then told for sure the money would be in my account by LATEST 6pm today. 6pm came and went and still no funds. At this point I was furious so i emailed them to say myself and my husband will be driving down tomorrow morning. Yes the office is 2 hours away but i was prepared to travel down there to confront these CON ARTISTS and get either my phone or my money. I also told them I want money for the petrol we would use to drive down there. Within five minutes the money was in my account. Its funny what happens when you confront these people!! Something needs to be done, I was silly really for not reading reviews but still these people shouldn't still be trading after the amount of people they have ripped off. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, AND IF THEY HAVE DONE THE SAME TO YOU, PLEASE CONTACT THE POLICE/TRADING STANDARDS OR TAKE THEM TO THE SMALL CLAIMS COURT. THIS HAS TO BE STOPPED!!!!!!”
“Avoid this company. They do not pay out. I phone every day and every day I am told that the money will be paid later that day. This morning I rang and spoke to Grace who promised me an email this afternoon informing me my payment had been made - no email and no payment YET AGAIN. Always tomorrow well I will be reporting to Trading Standards tomorrow just like all the other people who have written reviews on here should be doing - lets get this place shut down.”
“I have sent my phone before Christmas. They have offered a very low price so I've refused it and I asked them to send my device back. A week later they sent me a new email that was claiming they have reassessed my phone and they can offer an extra 9£ for it. I still refused it asking for my phone to be returned. In the end of January after several emails. My phone is still not with me and they just keep repeating it should be with me in the end of this week. This has been going on over a month now. Do Not Send Anything to them!!!”
“Corrupt! Like with other reviews I did not see the experiences that are described on Trust Pilot or I would have steered well clear of this excuse for a company.
A pristine iphone 6s offered £164 for was downgraded to £140 due to the following statement "We have offered you a revised price due to moderate wear to the casing" I immediately rejected this new price as the phone had a Zagg glass protector and an apple smart battery case fitted its whole life. I was told the phone would be returned and that they may have to call me to confirm delivery details. Fast forward five days as I am calling to chase my phone and I receive another email saying that "We have some great news! Our quality assurance team have reviewed your device as there was a technical error with the grading system and we’re able to offer you more!
We’re pleased to be able to increase your offer to the full value of: £164" Ten days later I have still not received my money after an email and three phone calls.
Read from my experience what you will but this company seems as bent as can be. It is my opinion that they try to sell your handset on before they pay you for it, it is the only explanation that I makes sense. You cannot speak to anyone other than a customer service operative, they keep spinning the same lies about an escalation team and being paid straight away after you have complained.
I have tried to speak to a supervisor but not managed it yet and they will not discuss compensation for their totally inadequate service. Use another recycling provider, I have never had any problems with competitors. Their price may be slightly lower but you will get that price and not have the pain in the butt of having to chase Webuyanyphone wasting your time. Do not use them!!!!!! I cannot emphasize this enough”
“I am still chasing the loss of my iPad Air 2, which I traded in at the start of June. I have received no response to my emails and it's been impossible to get through on the telephone lines for the past three months.
The service is absolutely appalling, I am loathed to even give them one star because I've clearly been conned. The company have obviously sold the item to another buyer before I had a chance to respond to the offer. To this date I have received no response or compensation.
If any representation of the company reads this page, my order number is 3843695. I am now having to go through the lengthy battle of a court case because their complete non-response. I urge anyone else having issues to go through the courts as well so that this fraudulent company can be closed down.”
“It’s a SCAM! I sent this company my iPhone 6 64GB securely bound in thick bubble wrap with tape around it sent Royal Mail passed over the counter at the post office, the phone was immaculate complete with a screen guard still in place. Two days later I received an email saying that they had received my device and that It was being tested, shortly after this they said that unfortunately it had a cracked screen and instead of the £160 they can offer a revised price of £25!! Along with a picture of the top of an iPhone which didn’t have a screen guard on it (mine did) with a deliberate crack along it, I declined this ridiculous offer and asked for my property to be returned, they then came back with an offer of £50 after a review from the quality assurance team, absolute rubbish these are absolute thieves and after reading countless bad reviews with the same story I feel the only way I’m going to get anything back is by going through the small claims court as they don’t pay anybody once it’s sent even if they say they have paid it nobody legit has actually seen any payment/returned goods weeks even months after with time wasting calls to the so called customer services. Another thing is that they said good morning in an email sent during late afternoon which tells me it’s operating somewhere abroad. AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Offers inflated price to get your business and then steals your property without payment Scammers!”
“Sold my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to this company.
First they told be it had screen Burn and the screen needed to be replaced and as such offered me £25, I declined this offer they then offered me £110 and I accepted this offer despite thinking there was no damage to my phone when I sent it. they told me I would receive my money in due course.
2 Weeks later and numerous phone calls and emails I DO NOT HAVE MY MONEY, I have been told twice they are tracing the payment, three times they have checked my bank details and told by this latest adviser that the first person to say they would trace the payment LIED and this never happened. I am now waiting for them to trace the payment only time will tell. OH and I cannot have my phone back because it has already been recycled.”
“probably the worst customer service I have EVER RECEIVED. 4 days later I haven't had my money - I said scrap the money can you just send me my phone back but they said they can't as it has already been recycled. keep being told I will have my money by midnight yet midnight comes and goes every day with no payment to me. when I have spoken to them they have been defensive and unhelpful and advised my phone call will automatically cut off shortly. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. they are thieves.”
“Paid the day my phone arrived, was kept updated with both emails and texts throughout the process. Very happy, no issues at all - I would definitely recommend to a friend.”
“They keep promising money is on it's way to your account today which never happens. I am going to report to police and write trading standards. Beware of these thieves!!!”
“After numerous calls, texts and empty promises they still won't pay me my money for my phone it is now getting ridiculous so I'm going to trading standards this company is a joke and as for being nominated for an award for recycling as what they recycle they steal it is even funnier”
