Looking for a good deal on a car for my son ..... I saw a low mile car on AC just over what I knew it to be worth. ā€œHow much off for cashā€ ā€œBut sir we do not offer a discount for cash as our prices are so low. They are so low because we we price match with all other dealersā€ so no I can’t give anything off for cash. I always look for discount on everything I buy of higher value. I am in sales and know there are almost always variable margins. My reply to the salesman and then his manager was ā€œ of course you can bl##dy sales match as AC have 90% of the dealerships in the city. It did not matter what make of car you looked at in the range —- Yup similar car was on sale at an AC dealer for few quid close to exact same priceā€ How did this company get past the monopoly commission? Wont ever buy from a monopolist. J

Great experience, got a great car, but the alloys were scuffed. No problem, the guys at Arnold Clark arranged to have them sprayed black. Great job! Friendly service, thank you!

Disgusting - Do not buy Absolutely disgusted with Arnold Clark. Purchased a car in July, which to be honest the service wasn’t great from the start. Leaving messages for a call back and getting no response. First trip on the motorway, a couple of months later we heard a noise and the windscreen seal was hanging off making the windscreen loose. Due to the pandemic couldn’t get it fixed and did a quick fix ourselves. A couple of months later, again on the motorway the cover under the engine completely fell off, a very dangerous situation. Upon calling them as this shouldn’t have happened within 6 months their response is there is nothing they could do. So basically sold a dangerous car and don’t care about it! The car should never have left the showroom.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID I wish I could give this company minus stars. They are con artists and I will be reporting to trading standards after my appalling experience. I bought a car from the Nottingham store - 3 weeks in, done around 50 miles and there has been numerous faults. Once you report one slight problem, this company do not want to know. It is impossible to get hold of staff and when you do the service is shocking - They started to accuse me of lying and throwing around false accusations, when I told them I would report them to HR, they quickly changed their tune. Mileage was flashing, dashboard was displaying faults regarding the lights, i had already had to get bulbs replaced 2 days into ownership. I took the car to my nearest store to be fixed.(which was a massive hassle to organise as again they did not want to accept liability) Upon collection I was told it was fixed and I was fine to drive away, when I got in the car the faults where still present. I proceeded to then go back inside the store and I was told I would have to wait 3 weeks for a certain car part to be delivered for my car to be fixed. (They where more than happy to allow me to drive away without telling me this). 3 weeks on I have not been contacted regarding the new part. Within the last few days the entire car has stopped working. The ignition will not start and the AA had to be called to recover a car that I have owned for 27 days. I have been flat out refused a refund despite the consumer rights act - AC are allowed one chance to fix the car, which I accepted, but this is their THIRD attempt at fixing this car as they still act blissfully unaware that I am more than entitled to my money back. This complaint and scenario is ongoing as the car is now back at my nearest store to ā€˜diagnose’ the new issue. This is beyond ridiculous now.

I was going to purchase BMW , got my personal presentation of the car , a number of pictures and I really liked the car , spoke to the manager on the phone regarding park exchanging my car I was given a price for part exchange and I agreed ... then my car had to have its MOT and failed miserably (amazed to me) it cost me Ā£500 I rang Arnold Clark and said I’m going to keep mine now as I’ve spent that much it’s a Ford galaxy titanium low mileage ,, anyway they offered to give me an extra Ā£300 trade in because if my expense I still said NO then they rang and said they would give me an extra Ā£500 to cover all my cost ,, I still said no but then had a change of heart and said I would have the BMW , got all my documents through looked at them very closely and they had put an extra Ā£500 in the screen price of the BMW they said they hadn’t and it was always that price so I emailed them pictures and my personal presentation with the price on the four court ... for everyone out there CHECK YOUR PAPERWORK thank goodness I saw and never bought the car

Car was booked into Inverness Motorstore for warranty work. They were made aware of the faults before the car went in. On picking up the car on return to the garage it became apparent that none of the work had been completed. Service assistant tried to fog me off saying they had to get authorisation for a part, this was a total joke as the part was easily available on the day within the town. Tyre pressure sensor light had been coming on constantly even though all pressures were fine. Was advised that they had checked the pressures and reset the fault. Had they bothered to road test the car it would have been obvious that the fault reappears straight away. Received a bad attitude from the service assistant and even worse from the service manager,Duncan when I asked to speak to him. Customer service complaint team are a complete joke and seem to have attended the same couldn't care less class as the afore mentioned Going to have another wasted day putting the car back to them, won't be taking any of their attitude this time If you can avoid this lot and take your business elsewhere to someone who does after sales service Unfortunately it's a warranty job for me and I have to perservere with them

Will never do business with this company again. Bought a 1 year old car from Arnald Clark in August 2020. Cars had a couple faults in one go (January 2021) that have stopped the car from starting. Arnald Clark receptionist advised us to take the car back to them (weekend so service team were off). Monday morning we’re told the car is under manufacturer warranty and needs to be moved, which we got charged for. Said receptionist sent an email to the Sales Manager blatantly lying stating ā€œIn no way did I tell them to bring the car here, customer refused to listen and car has been brought to usā€. Manager listened to the phone call and can confirm the receptionist DID in fact tell us to send the car to Arnald Clark BUT here’s the kicker! Still refuses to pay for THEIR MISS INFORMATION as the receptionist didn’t know any better...that’s lack of training and NOT the customers fault! We’re now out Ā£150 for a problem that Arnald Clark CAUSED!

Attended at the Bathgate branch in relation to selling my car with with the promise of a 6 day fix on that price. Two days later I returned to finalise the sale and the salesman, namely Ryan attempted to knock a further Ā£100 off. On highlighting this to Ryan he stated that he had informed me of this and proceeded to be arrogant and argumentative. On requesting to speak with a manager, his reply was ā€œI wasn’t thereā€ but supported Ryan in any case arguing that I only had a part service history which was not the case. On asking why they didn’t take this into account on the day I handed the documents over, they failed to provide a reasonable explanation for this. It was evident then that the manager was prepared to support Ryan despite his incompetence, Consequently I informed them I would not be continuing with the sale and left the premises. Absolutely abhorrent customer service, Will never step foot in this establishment again...🤔🤔

Wouldn’t even give these a one star! Shocking company! Paid 12k for a car that is now worth nothing after a yr of having it! To find out that they have patched half the engine up! With only 3 month warranty! My advice too anyone wanting to buy a car AVOID these con artists at all cost! As when your buying the car from enquires their like your best friend up until the point you hand your cash over they then avoid any kind of contact with you! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

In August I ordered 2 new cars with Arnold Clark after checking they were definitely available. I was given a 3/4 week delivery schedule. This availability was particularly important to me as my current lease was due to be returned in September. Over the next 3 months I constantly chased delivery and each time was told they would be delivered in around 3 weeks. Fast forward to mid November and we were told one would be delivered the following week, James Kay then ignored all communication going forward, as yet again he had lied about delivery. At this point I made a formal complaint which was ignored for 2 weeks, then after chasing I finally received a response from James himself calling me out on complaining about him. If this wasn’t bad enough, the email further down the chain from customer service to James stated ā€˜can you sort this out she’s complaining’. At this point I sent an email to the CEO department and was contacted by Kieran, head of UK Business sales, who again has been as useful as a chocolate tea pot! Early December one car arrives. Then in mid December I receive a date for the other car to be delivered. A date that is past when my extended lease car needs to be MOT’d so I’m now experiencing more unnecessary cost and trouble. The 2nd brand new car was finally delivered yesterday, absolutely filthy! Who delivers a brand new Mercedes in such a poor state?! If you value your sanity, time and money.. then please avoid this company at all costs. Getting a new car is meant to be a joyous occasion. This has been nothing but a total nightmare from start to end.

I would not even give one star if it… I would not even give one star if it was possible. I bought my second car from Arnold Clark Wakefield in November 2019. Was happy with the Audi A7 I bought a couple of years ago with no problems. But in November I'm well disappointed with Arnold Clark totally. I was pushed into putting a returnable holding fee down of Ā£99 and giving all my information so they could submit to the finance company, I did point out that was not sure if I was buying the car till I had seen it the next day, but was again told the car was like new with only 13,000 miles on it. The next day didn't hear owt so I called around 3pm and was told that I could go over to view the car (67 plate Renault Kadjar) I asked if they had got me passed with finance company and was told they had not submitted it yet, I replied with what was the rush with me paying the holding fee the night before. On getting to the garage the car was ready to test drive, after my wife and I tested the car we was happy with it apart from a scratch on the rear boot door. The sales man said he would get it buffed out while we did the paperwork, I paid over Ā£4000 for the deposit and he said he had to send someone to the post office to tax it. I signed the finance docs and was also told the car had just had a full service. I was just about to drive away when I thought has he put the temp insurance certificate in the pack. On asking him he said we don't give you that now that I had to pay Ā£20 for it, I said well how have you taxed it then. I got out and checked the boot and could still see the scratch on the boot and said I don't want the car and was not happy that I nearly drove off without being insured. He went off and got Chris the manager who was awful and said I couldn't not have the car it was now mine and that the car was 3 years old and was normal to be scratched and he wouldn't do owt about it. I also told him about the insurance and he said we have stopped giving the 5 days insurance and that I had to pay Ā£20 I told him that I should have been told all this and that what if I had not asked I would have drove off not insured he said that would have been my fault, after me argument with him he said pay the Ā£20 and he would send me a cheque for it, his attitude was awful and not what I would of expected. A few days later I got a email from head office asking me to review my experience, which I did not being a good one. Then I got a call from another manager at Wakefield called Callum. On telling him the full story and sending him the picture of the scratch he said he would see what he could do, I told him I could get it sorted for about Ā£100 to Ā£150 at a garage I use. After a couple of weeks and another 2 email's from me and me telling him I was waiting before I did this review he called and said he could not do owt. I then called head office in Glasgow and reported it all to them, after a couple of hours the called me and said the same would not sort the scratch. I advised him that I was putting this review on and could not believe they wasn't bothered and that I think I've been more than fair giving them over 6 weeks instead of just doing a poor review. This car was Ā£14100.00 and my first car was over Ā£26000.00 and the treate like this. So I advice everyone beware of this company and don't pay any money until you are happy with any buffed scratches and definitely don't sign the finance agreement until happy. Also I checked the service book and it was stamped by Arnold Clark but no service sheet on asking they said it just had oil and filter change. And remember what the manager said all cars have scratches what do you expect it's a 3 year old car. I totally don't agree and why did they not tell me this before I went over. All I can say is never again will go to a proper dealership. Thanks Ray Fry
