I flew this company in the summer, IAD-GYE on business class, what a terrible experience! On my return flight which left early in the morning, I asked for a blanket for it was cold, I was told to pay $15 for it; I was expecting at least a coffee, nothing unless you pay, and remember I was in business class!!! I have been bombarded with their adds and they have the audacity to offer a business class ticket for $2800 on the same route. I would not fly this company even if they give me a free ticket and get paid on top of that.

**A Disappointing Experience with Avianca Airlines** I scheduled my flight with Avianca Airlines in June 2024, planning to fly out of San Jose airport on December 1st at 9:45 AM. To make it on time, we booked a 7 AM puddle jumper flight. However, between July and November, Avianca changed our flight to 4.5 hours earlier, which meant we couldn't take the puddle jumper at 7 AM. This forced us to cut our trip short by one day and take the last flight from Santa Teresa to San Jose, costing us an additional $140 for the flight change and $425 for a hotel room on November 30th. I submitted a complaint to Avianca Airlines, explaining the financial burden caused by their flight change. Their response was a denial, stating that my confirmation of the flight equated to confirming the new schedule. Of course, I confirmed the flight, but that doesn't negate the significant adjustments and expenses we had to incur to make the 5:05 AM flight. Adding to the frustration, our flight from San Francisco and the return trip were equally disappointing. We had to pay for our own snacks, the legroom was horrendous, and the flight attendants were rude and seemed uninterested in their jobs. If we ever return to Costa Rica, we will certainly look for another airline. If no other options are available, we will reconsider our travel plans. I highly recommend avoiding Avianca Airlines. Our experience with them was the worst.

Worst airline ever! We purchased a direct flight. Months later, they changed the flight to have a layover in a different country and lengthened the travel time by 3 fold. That was unacceptable to us. They would not refund us. Their website wouldn't work for refunds (isn't THAT convenient), so called all of their customer service numbers which just directed us to WhatsApp and answered only by AI, and that told us to use the website...the non-working website. We emailed support, and they told us to use website even though I told them the website didn't work for refunds. SCAM airline.

THE WORST AIRLINE! It should no longer be in business, besides charging you for everything, they give you the worst customer service as if they were doing us a favor to travel with this company. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT HELPING YOU SOLVE THE PROBLEM THEY CREATED! they just say I can't help you! but, yes they received the the payment for your ticket.

Flying business class with Avianca Airlines was an incredibly disappointing experience and certainly not worth the extra money. The inflight service was subpar, with flight attendants going out of their way to be unfriendly and unhelpful. Smiles were nonexistent, and basic courtesy seemed like a struggle for the crew. The worst part of my journey was the second leg of my trip, a short one-and-a-half-hour flight. Astonishingly, not even a glass of water was offered unless I paid for it. This level of service is unacceptable, especially in business class, where basic amenities should be a given. Overall, Avianca Airlines failed to deliver on even the most basic expectations for business class service. I would not recommend paying the premium for this experience.

They are us 177$ CND for a carry on. So 354$ for me and my girlfriend. I have no words. I never had an issue with any airline ever. Please do something about this. After that the told us to book online for the luggage it will be less expensive. So i did and i went to buy one big luggage to put our 2 small one inside of it. So it was supose to be less expensive. Book the luggage on the website, told us that they will send an email confirmation in less then 8h...never got it. Went to the airport...told us that we need to pay for our check in and the luggage....297 CND. So we did....3 hours later i look on my credit card. They charge is 93.66$ CND on their website and they didnt send a email confirmation or receipt. We went to costumer service...they gave use telephone number...they never answer. Its only a robot talking...cant speak to anyone. Called my credit card Visa but they cant remburse me since i dont have a receipt or email confirmation. So its was close to 700$ CND more.

Doesn’t deserve a single star at all they did the same as I seen other reviews where they didn’t want to credit ppl their return flight will never fly with them again they are pure trash and rob people

Esta compania is Basura , Ahorece el dolor de cabesa, Tiene otras opciones como United Airlines , Yo compre un ticket de ida y venida, y no pude salir por pasaporte vencido , 2 dias despues lo areigle y pude viajar, Cuando quise regresar ellos cancelaron my vuelo y me forsaron a comprar uno nuevo , el avion tenio mas de 20 sillas vacias, Mas de 5 horas de San Salvador a San Francisco y ni siquiera agua, esta es la pero compania, Nunca Nunca mas viajare con tigo ladrones , rateros , Coructos ,(Mire el video en youtube )

This company is Garbage , there are other options , you will regret flying with this company , I booked round trip from Seattel to El salvador , do to missing my departure , they cancel my returning trip and forced me to rebuy my ticket with over 20 empty seats on the plane , these said it all about this greedy company , over 5 hours flight from el salvador to san francisco and no snack or drinks ,

Avianca Managua Nicaragua Estuve en Nicaragua La semana pasada con mi hijo autista y cuando veniamos de regreso a Estados unidos mi hijo tuvo una crisis mi caso lo tomo un joven de nombre Max Sevilla Patterson el cual fue increiblemente professional y muy efficient en resolver satisfactoriamente nuestra situacion Max sin duda es un excelente empleado que hace la diferencia , fue un verdadero placer saber que profesionales como Max están en una posición que son la imagen de la compañía y la representan de forma respetuosa, hábil, rápida y eficiente Gracias Max por tu ayuda eres indiscutiblemente el mejor Sincerely Ingrid Morales

Avianca is the worst airline I've flown in my 40+ years of flying. I wish there were minus stars because they deserve less than even 1 star. Customer service is non existent once they have your money. They charge extra for everything even on board the flight (on a flight from San Francisco to Guatemala they didn't even provide a cup of water!!). The attendants were very rude. In one of our flights they destroyed one of our bags and we got the round around for about 6 months and we finally gave up on getting reimbursement!! We have flown Avianca (round trip) 3 different times but the last was the worst. STAY AWAY FROM AVIANCA NO MATTER HOW CHEAPER IT IS!! I communicated with Avianca representatives in person at the airport, by telephone and by email to no avail.

We had booked flight same day for a funeral. With over an hour prior to our flight we were told the flight closed, yet the person before us and group behind us who were on the same flight per my conversation with them were given their boarding passes. When I brought this up the Supervisor came over and then stated my mother would not make it as she uses a cane to walk and would require assistance. They discriminated her disability and given the extra help she would require rather than assisting given our special circumstances they refused to help and showed no empathy to my mothers tears as she mourned the loss of her sister. Horrible customer service do not recommend this airline.

Got straight up lied too. Changed my flights and had to pay extra $65 for my 2nd bag which I had already paid $40 for. They had problem processing payment over the phone and said don’t worry pay the $65 at the airport. At the airport now and they charging me $160. Flat out extortion

Avianca did not honker their Covid protocal for flights. We got stuck with them not rescheduling our flight and are now saying we lost our money. I will file a CC dispute showing evidence that they stole my money and also will post all the negative reviews in every single Platform , Yelp, Google, and so on.

I’d give 0 stars if I could. Long story short, this is a horrible airline to work with if you have a family emergency and need to make quick adjustments. I understand you can put things in writing where people purchasing economy airfare relinquish their ability to reschedule their flight without fees, but you’d think that a $422 one-way 6-hour flight pre-purchased 1.5 months ahead of time, made by someone who’s flown with you before, who has had a family emergency where their father had a heart attack and is undergoing life-saving surgery, you would morally think charging them $962 dollars in penalties to reschedule their flight to same day is a little heartless and unethical. (Bringing my grand total to $1,384). ESPECIALLY when there were open economy seats available on 3 flights leaving that same day. But no, I have to pay almost $1,000 in fees and penalties to upgrade myself to first class just to be able to change my flight since you treat S and XS ticket holders like trash. Icing on the cake is that you can clearly see on Google flights that it would only cost $600 for a one-way ticket if I’d wait 2 days to fly out. Their website is not user friendly, the customer hotline was very unhelpful, and I was told the supervisor didn’t have time to talk to me or there wasn't one available. My experience was similar when talking to the customer service department at the Managua Airport in Nicaragua and that a manager was unavailable. I was obviously pretty stressed and as a non-native Spanish speaker it was difficult to try and explain my situation in Spanish, but even when a bilingual American tried to help me they still weren’t willing to budge. Lastly their staff seems to be completely incompetent telling me I need to pay them $1200, when I can clearly do it online and get a result of $962 (still ridiculous). I highly recommend you choose another airline instead who would understand an emergency situation like this and not make it about squeezing you for over 300% of your original ticket price for a same-day flight.

Bogotá, Colombia to Santa Marta, Colombia. I called Avianca Airlines phone number at +1-831-|244|-|8250| i got my bookings over the phone . The flights cost less than half the cost of what comparable flights would cost in the U.S., and the plane and seating seemed pretty standard for coach service. I didn't get a choice of seat with the fare I chose, but I was happy I got a window seat both ways. I'd fly Avianca Airline again without hesitation

I am from Canada Avianca is very bad company they suspended the flight for no reason they do not respect the customer with the connections I WILL. NEVER CHOOSE AVIANCA OR RECOMMEND NEVER NEVER
