I seem to be having problems with my pin number and debit card, so I went in to my local Barclays branch and although I am a rare visitor, they recognised me and sorted out the problem. They were very helpful.

Our branch in town is closed for 3 weeks for refurbishment. I need to pay a cheque in and know that it has cleared fairly quickly, rang the bank who said that I could pay it in to the nearest bank which is about 10 miles away! Think he thought he was doing me a favour!! Not everyone drives! Before the branch closed I had visited the bank twice to speak to a particular person. He was never there, always in another branch and each time left my phone number to have them ring me back. Am still waiting and have not been able to go in a third time to chase up because it has been closed for 3 weeks. I have been with Barclays for 43 years but am thinking its time for a change.

Today the 21st october my mum who is elderly and recieves her disability payment into her account with Barclays , went to the ATM to withdraw only for the machine to register a withdrawal but didn't dispense any cash My mum then went inside immediately and asked for help only to be confronted by rude staff who said they can't help as the machine showed it had given her the cash ,my mum then explained she had nothing to live on ,that was her only money , they told her to come back Monday when they could investigate ,so got upset so the bank said they would lend her £20 but she would owe the bank Clearly upset she left SHE HAS BANKED WITH THEM THIRTY YEARS RIDICULOUS HOW ANYONE WOULD DEAL WITH THEM IS BEYOND ME

Waiting time in barclays cheapside too long - avoided lunch time to avoid the rush still waited over half an hour for bank statements to be printed

Been with barclays over 10yrs absolutely disgusting customer service the workers don't have a clue forever putting you on hold and always charging my account for absolutely no reason I will be leaving barclays

Literally a pointless practice having the West Byfleet branch. Offer no services whatsoever! You might as well just have the ATM and nothing else

The member of staff at Barclays branch Bishops Stortford who served me was extremely unprofessional and rude. She began by complaining about her itchy tights in a chatty way and then suddenly changed into an authoritarian tone demanding I tell her what my overdraft limit was. I told her that since I never needed an overdraft I didn't need to know it. She then told me that as it was my account I should be able to answer all her questions and if I didn't she wouldn't be able help me. If I hadn't made such a fuss I'm sure she would never have gone the extra inches to ask me a more appropriate and reasonable question which I was able to answer and so would not have verified me. I am appalled at the depths to which Barclays have sunk. They clearly do not care enough about customer relations to bother to train their staff in how to talk to customers. I will be changing my bank.

Some very unhelpful staff, rude and talk to you like your stupid!!! Unable to sort problems, just pass you around on the phone! Average call 40 mins... (over 5 years with them)

What went wrong? Everything. Barclays is a JOKE. The worst banking experience in my life. Their customer service is a misunderstanding. They have first blocked my account with no explanation, cleared my main account with no explanation, then closed my account also with no explanation whatsoever. They are keep holding all the oney I had on my savings account and do not want to give it back even though I have done everythig they asked for. I have made a complaint that they promise to resolve "as soon as possible", another joke. They have said they would resolve it withing a month giving the exact date for it and then what? Then they gave themselves another month for investigation, when there really isn't that much to investigate. All in all they have taken away all the money from me, they make problems giving it back, which lets be honest is stealing. And this has been going on for OVER 2 MONTHS. The customer service? There is not even one person with the ability to professionally serve customers, they are being rude and unhelpfull, some of them give incorrect information. So what is Barclays doing to their emlpoyees that they hate their jobs so much? Well, if they're treating their employees same as their customers, then I do not blame them for not giving a damn to do their job well. I wound not recommend this bank to my worst enemy.

We would like to tell everyone how fantastic Kamila Malecka (hope I have spelt her name correctly) at the Shenfield, Essex branch is. She is so professional but also is friendly and has time for each and every customer she deals with. Always has a smile on her face and nothing is too much trouble for her. She has excellent customer skills and is a credit to Barclays. Great member of your staff.

Customer service is unacceptably horrible. My farther was screamed at for wasting the persons time on the other side of the line. How can a customer waste your time during your work hours?! Absolutely disappointed. Person's name is Mr Kalpam Pachauri. Very disappointed.

My wife and I have held accounts with Barclays. Our account manager is very good and that is the only reason why we are still with Barclays. For USD account holders, service is very poor and the charges are excessive. Barclays should find ways of looking after loyal customers or else they will lose them!

We are trying to add My( Husbands) Name with my ILL Wife's Account UNSUCCSESFULLY FOR THE LAST FIVE MONTHS. IT JUST CANT BE DONE INSPITE OF OUR 4 VISITS TO LOCAL BRANCHES. THE FRAUD SQUARD IS VIRTUALLY A TORTURE SQUARD FOR CUSTOMERS. IT BLOCKS THE PAYMENTS PROCESSED BY BARCLAY STAFF ( AN EXTREME OF STUPIDITY) AND GOES TO SLEEP. EVEN THE STAFF FROM BARCLAYS NEED MORE THAN 30 MINUTES TO REACH THEM.PUBLIC CANT EVEN THINK OF REACHING THEM. STILL WORK CAN NOT BE DONE AS PER URGENT NEED. I DONT THINK CEO & HIGH RANKING OFFICE HOLDERS DESERVE A SINGLE PENNY OF SALARY THEY ARE DRAWING. HOPE THEY WAKE UP IN THIS 21ST CENTURY AND ORGANIZE THE PROBEMS AND HAVE A LITTLE CONSIDERATION FOR CUSTOMERS WHO ARE KEEPING THEIR LIFE LONG EARNING WITH THEM AND SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THEIR TRUST. All I want are some cheque deposit envelopes. How hard is that? Now trying for the 3rd time in 2 weeks (both previous times unsuccessful), and have already jumped through numerous security hoops and been on hold for 10 minutes!!

I am amazed at the lack of encouragement from my guy on the call he all but called me a loser really , I've never been over drawn apart from bank holidays , he said I'd bad debt but surely by my accounts he can see I haven't , and he couldn't understand me when I said Santander gave me the money his reply re mortgage your house ? I'm a hairdresser and would give you better advice , he was no help said how are you going to pay this 220 ! A month I am renting a chair to pay for it , 400 a week he said we need to see more in your bank ! I told him when he invests in me I will in him , experia gave me 92 score what the actual point is them looking when they all ready know your getting soldiers breakfast ... but this is buisness banking not personal who I pop in to see and are lovely , get your calls directed from India they are much more pleasant

I've heard a lot of bad things about Barclay's until i learned my lesson first hand. They accepted me for a bank account and savings after doing the usual checks in the appointment , told me everything was perfect and they would send me out a card in the mail. Received it a few days later to find out it wouldnt work in the ATM. I went in to Barclay's to explain and they said it was a fault and they'd contact me when they have it sorted. Still waiting a week and a half later, had to go in myself and they told me they couldn't have me as a customer anymore without any explanation. Not to mention the employee who accepted my application , was clearly avoiding me. Was handed all my money from my accounts in an envelope and was told there was nothing they could do. The most disgusting and unprofessional bank/ employees I've ever dealt with.

Firstly I would like to state that If I could go below 1 star this would have been a definite, but unfortunately I haven't had the option to do so!!!! I think the service from this bank is disgusting and extremely atrocious and I would not advise anybody joining this bank as they don't even allow you to access your OWN money. This is a joke. Due to the bad customer service I have received everytime I have contacted the bank I have not managed to reach the level of co operation to get to the bottom of my situation. My bank account has only been open a month and has been under review for nearly the full month which was 4-5 after my account had been opened, this was a new account with the bank I have not had a previous one with them. This has caused major inconvieniece with my everyday banking because I have been unable to use the hole in the wall and have been told the only money I can have out is money from the government or money from wages. My mum transferred some money for me to feed my son as my benefits had been suspended and will be for a couple of weeks and they would not allow me to take the money my mum had lent me out of MY account which I think is disgusting!! This caused my 6 year old son to starve for 2 days! On top of all of this I still havnt been told why my account has initially been put under review and why it still is! This bank needs to reconsider there customer service skills and maybe they wouldn't recieve so many bad complaints like I have heard of several people! I have had to go to the financial ombudsman to send a formal complaint for me seen as they agreed that the service I was recieveing was unacceptable.. I won't be stopping until I get where I aim to be and this is until my account is fully open and I am able to use my everyday services without the inconvieniece of having to go into the bank everytime I want to withdraw money! The fact I can't get money when I need it is a complete joke.. If I needed money for an emergency this wouldn't be possible as I would have to wait until the opening hours of this bank!!! Overall as stated I am extremely unhappy with this bank and something needs doing!!!

Wow! The customer service is absolutely RUBBISH!!!! I've been with barclays since the age of 16 never had any reason to call up until now. Firstly was passed from one to another, secondly one would say something then the other colleague would say something completely and utterly different they never seem to say one thing. Thirdly I seem to only speak to employees that are abroad and have absolutely no idea what they are speaking! Fourthly till now I can't seem to access my account which I can't seem to sort out as to whoever I speak to don't seem to have any clue to what they are saying. The employees that are from the UK are understandable and seem to help which every time I call I always pray and hope someone from the UK would pick up! Worst experience EVER!!!!!!!!!
