I went to my local Banbury show room on 25/8/19 to order Bed Base. I spoke to the Manager (Leo Devren). I saw that the bed I wanted to order had a "10% Divan or Mattress" sign. I asked it this applied to the Divan Base only, as the label was not clear. He told me to speak to Customer care. I asked him to ring them which he did using the shop phone. I waited on the phone for 30 mins before someone answered. The person on the phone said they could not help as they only dealt with after order issues. They were surprised the Manager rang the number and wasted my time. I spoke to Manager again and he said he could not do anything. I asked if he could get his region manager to ring me next week as I was disappointed I had wasted nearly 1hr in the shop. The Manager refused to do this and said I need to complain on the web page. This is a really bad experience from a shop I have bought items before.

basically mis-sold insurance!we chose mattress and were told price was £200,i always ask for any more discount/freebies and was offered £10 off and a protector and "free" accident/damage insurance.we did not ask for or enquire about the insurance.seemed like a good deal,so we bought it. then went on website to check spec. and found out it was £40 cheaper on-line! with same delivery time as ex-store.then had a careful look at invoice, what had been done was,the £200 had been discounted down to £160 (the web price),then the ins.added @£31,the protector was part of the ins.deal anyway!all of this is clearly shown on the invoice.so it appeared we had been given a £10 discount!i'm sure this is illegal.the only good part of this is the ins. has a 14 day refund,so I will be getting the £31 back(I hope)how easy this will be,don't know. salesman was very slick and friendly!

Terrible - Terrible - Service, deal with them at your peril, and the saga continues... I am surprised Benson's are still trading.. Both my wife and I are approaching retirement. My wife has a number of conditions including full blown Fybromyalgia and Spinal Stenosis. Having taken medical and support group advice we sought a new mattress suitable for her circumstances. We chose Benson's because they (we thought) were a major high street player. We went to the Trostre store in Llanelli. Granted the sales person was very nice at the time (silvery tongue upon reflection), we were in store for nearly 2 hours during which we talked at length about our needs and demands - we wanted an extra firm King Size mattress. The sales person discussed with us the features and benefits of a firm 'strength 5' mattress and how it would be the ideal choice for my wife. We explained the problems my wife was experiencing, where we lived even to the point of the type of property we lived in. After much bouncing, laying, and testing we settled on a 'strength 5' King Size (very firm) at a cost of just over £700. We paid the deposit and the balance interest free, delivery date was 21 August.... Now the fun starts.... The day before we prepared for delivery, taking our old king Size (soft) out (slid it down the stairs) and carting it to the council skips. We tidied the bedroom, hoovered etc and cleared the hall way by the front door ( you go through the front door and straight up the stairs ahead). I was in work when the mattress arrived !!!!!!!!!!!!! It would not fit up the stairs !!!! The mattress would not bend or shift to fit under the ceiling part no matter how much the delivery men tried ( I am not blaming them in any) it was about 6" to low, they pushed and pulled and admitted that to get it up would involve breaking the springs. WHAT !! my wife cried.. yes they said " we have come across this loads of times, '5' mattresses do not give " Fortunately my wife refused to sign for the mattress and they took it away. She rang the store only to be fobbed off with the excuse that it was our fault for not telling them it would not fit - "How on Earth were we to know it would not bend, why didn't the sales person offer this advice in the first place when we were in discussion "? "Not our problem they said, we should have known it would not fit" (I will point out that we live in a basic ex local authority 3 bedroom house). I rang the store from work only to be fobbed again by the same thing, he offered me an alternative mattress - something softer that would bend a bit and go up the stairs- WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT ? WE WANTED A FIRM MATTRESS... the man told me to ring Customer Services. I had to leave work early and when I rang Customer Services was kept waiting 47 minutes - YES 47 - before getting through. They said it was still our fault because we should have known a firm ' strength 5' mattress would not bend in any way. I accused them of not being professional and advising me of this on the basis that it was their job advise me of this because the sales person was aware of our circumstances. When I asked where my mattress was they said it had gone back to the depot in Tewksbury... SO... we had no mattress at home to sleep on and our new one was miles away... " We will send you a softer one that will fit up your stairs they said ".. WHAT GOOD IS THAT ?.. " We will return the one you have purchased " WHAT GOOD IS THAT ? They insisted they would not refund but said I could cancel the order at a cost of a 20% cancellation fee and refund the difference. I will be refunded by Friday. Well at least that is something I thought. My refund is now a week overdue and we have been sleeping on the settee so watch this space because I can't wait to see what happens next...

Shop elsewhere! Don't make the same mistake I made. Horrible selection, even worse customer service. Said it would be over a month before they could deliver the mattress. Never emailed me follow up details. Their cancelation policy is absolutely ridiculous and charges 20% for any chances or cancelations made after 24 hours. I've never experienced customer service this bad. Buy your mattress online or go to another London retailer.

I will start from the beginning, we was changing our bedding and when we removed our mattress protector we noticed the joint in the pattern had come apart as soon as we noticed we tried phoning customer services, when we did it said there was a 48 min wait so we opted for a call back which we never got. We tried the next day and again said would be a wait of around 34 mins we stayed on hold for over an hour to be cut off. We finally got through today to the tone of a blunt lady who basically said we had to arrange our own inspection and pay for it ourselves we have had sofas and other large home items from other companies we have never been told we had to arrange and pay for inspections so we phoned one of the companies we was told to ring and they said usually stores organise this for the customer which got our back up as we wasn’t happy with how we was being treated so we looked at the booklet which we got with our receipt and it says that you would send inspectors over if needed there is no mention at all that we have to do any of this ourselves. So we decided to go to the store we purchased the mattress from to be welcomed by the manager who was about as much help as a chocolate teapot who wasn’t willing to help he just said ‘ were the middle men it’s down to customer services ‘ we asked if he could contact them on our behalf as we was a little confused with what was going on he refused to and when we said about not being happy with how we’ve been treated all we got was ‘ were a big company now so don’t bother with going above and beyond for customers ‘ this is shocking as we have felt with big companies before and they have done everything in their power to help so we was no better off and kicked to the kurb with no help whatsoever. So again we’ve phoned customer services again to clarify things and was this time told we need to email photo of the mattress which I have now done to get a reply of 10 working days to get a reply , we now have a £900 mattress we are worried about sleeping on as could make it worse and end up getting the blame for as it just seems that’s all your looking for. My wife is 36 weeks pregnant and this added stresss and now feeling unable to go on our bed as she’s worried that we will make the tear worse and when it finally comes down to get sorted if it ever does will be worse and we are stuck with a bill to repair it. I have never heard of such lack of support to customers we spent a lot of money on this mattress £900 is so much money too us and to now think it’s been wasted on a mattress from a company who doesn’t care about their customers once they’ve got there products is disgusting. Like I said I have a heavily pregnant wife who needs the comfort of our bed to de stress now she’s gets the stress of the Mattress as we are left in the dark to what is actually happening or going to happen as it seems nobody has any idea , it’s also annoying it takes a public post on social media to get a fast response not happy at all !!!

Beware of scam cashback offer with Bensons for Beds on Quidco. I bought a bed frame through Quidco's referral with an advertised 8% cashback. Bensons for Beds failed to recognise the referral and after waiting a few months, they have now denied the claim with no recourse for appeal. The only reason I ordered this frame from Bensons for Beds was because of this cashback. This is no different to a false price scam - they tricked me into making the purchase based on a false price. Bensons for Beds is not to be trusted as a company. Get your bed frames from somewhere else.

Awful customer care. Your on hold for 40+ minutes, cut off, take weeks to reply to emails. Took 7 months and 7 deliveries to replace faulty bed base and mattress. No customer care and now an offer of goodwill which is insulting, or vouchers to a higher value in store. I would never shop with them again. Do not buy from them.

I would give it NO STARS. Their after care customer service is rubbish. I received delivery of my expensive mattress which had been dropped by the delivery man causing damage to its pocket springs. First time I called customer service they didn't even speak to me after I had waited for 45 minutes, they just hung up. The second time the call handler was trying to fob me off saying that none of their departments actually communicate - and was absolutely useless to the point I terminated the call before I lost my temper. I had on both occasions followed up with an email I had two options - wait for a 'technician' to state if it was a manufacturers fault - which of course it is not - THE SODDING DELIVERY MAN damaged it!! (and to complicate things it was delivered to my neighbour who did not refuse it). or evoke the not satisfied with the sleep returns. strangely either will take a long time and they will have our money for over a month for goods not of satisfactory quality. DO NOT EVER USE THIS USELESS BUSINESS who don't care once they have their money!

Wish I had read these reviews before purchasing a single mattress from the Uddingston store! Bought the mattress on 24 th of June but after removing polythene and after delivery men had left , I found the mattress badly stained: After notifying customer services and sending photographs I have had to phone on numerous occasions for an update speaking to so many people who seemed unsure what the procedures were.:::::sometimes holding on in the queue for up to 25 minutes,Still waiting on a replacement being delivered to warehouse is the response I have been given. The Uddingston store are less than helpful! Never again, If I could give no stars I would!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! We ordered our sons bed in December 2018 and the bed was damaged upon delivery. We informed customer services via phone (after waiting 50mins to speak to someone). They requested us to email in with the part numbers which we did. We received no response, so chased them up and they finally responded 3 weeks later. We were told they would send some more parts and once received we would be receiving some compensation for the inconvenience. We eventually received some of the replacement parts (but not al that we requested) and these too were damaged. We rang to complain several times and each time gave up waiting on the phone for over an hour just to speak to someone. We decided to email in but again after serval weeks received no reply so we chased them a few times. They finally called us 6 weeks later and asked us to email in again which we did. We finally received the pieces in late July. We emailed in again complaining about the terrible customer service, damaged parts and long awaited replies. Again it took them over 3 weeks to reply and they called to say they would offer us £20 cash. We explained we felt this is an insult as our son slept on a mattress on the floor for over 7 months! Their reply (exact words from customer services advisor Sidrah Ali after she consulted her manager) was “Take it or leave it. If you’re not happy, complain to Trading Standards or the Citizens Advice Bureau!” Shocking customer service. You have been warned, steer clear of this company!

I have to say I would never shop at Benson's for Beds again. The mattress we received looked like the one we ordered but felt nothing like it, even after weeks of use following being assured it would soften with time it is still much firmer and not as supportive as the one we chose in the shop, we checked this with at least 4 visits, we've decided we will have to buy another mattress from somewhere else and put this expensive mattress in the spare room, it was either that or tip it, we kept being told there is nothing wrong with the mattress which I'm not disputing, but our bench mark is the mattress in the shop. We are the only ones that compared them, the last message left by their customer services was abrupt and verging on rude. I wish I had read some of these reviews before placing the order

Really wish there was a minus star option for this dreadful company. Purchased a Madrid Back Care mattress from them in August 2018 and was told that it was perfectly fine for a slatted bed base. Used the summer side of the mattress from August to October 2018 and then flipped it over to the winter side from October 2018 to March 2019. Earlier this month we rotated the mattress and noticed that the winter side had slits/stretches in the fabric all over it. We immediately raised the issue with Benson and were told that because it is out of the 6 months consumer period, we would have to get Home Serve to do an inspection and report at our expense. If it were deemed to be a manufacturer fault, we would be reimbursed the £48 fee. When Home Serve came did the report, they stated that the slats were 100mm (10cm) apart and that was the reason why the mattress was pulling/chaffing. Benson for Beds immediately rejected the claim and told us that the manufacturers requirement is a maximum of 7cm (70mm) slat gap. Not only was this not detailed anywhere, but we were told that the mattress would be perfectly okay on a slatted base. Additionally, the summer side of the mattress is unmarked after laying on the same base for 5 months .... wierd that ;). When we purchased the mattress we also took out the care and protection plan, which we were told would cover the mattress against damage and stains. However, when we called Gaurdsman, the care plan company, we were told that Benson for Beds customers keep coming to them for damaged mattresses, however the care plan only covers stains. Both the salesperson and customer services personnel we dealt with told us that the care plan covers damage. The issue has now had to go to the furniture ombudsman for mediation, as Benson for Beds customer service are not willing to budge. If you are reading this review ..... STAY AWAY FROM BENSON FOR BEDS!!!
